"Fair enough," Jake answered Kimiko softly. His eyes showed his sympathy, but also his intent to stand by her no matter what she chose to do, rapidly developing loyalty and affection clear in his gaze.

Erik nodded and motioned to pull Adrian from the group. Once they were a bit further from the group. "Here is what I do know at this time. He is a historian from Tharkad. He went missing a few months ago and was spotted here on world just last week. Both Lyran intelligence and the LAAF have sent separate teams to recover him. If they want him, than we want him. My source is sure that he holds critical information about what Tharkad plans to do next with this world."
Back at the group, Colonel Johns nodded as she turned to the group and brought her comlink up, "inform the over-watch that we will be departing for the capital city then returning to Wyvern Castle." She motioned Kimiko and her group to return to the transport, "Duchess, you know that General Macko and President McGray will see this as a slight against them."
Kimiko nodded, "yes I do" she said as she started to walk towards the transport. "General Macko has been like a father to me. One of my father's own studies. But he has no legitimate claim to rule this world. Like my father, he gave his oath to New Earth. President McGray is the elected leader of New Earth, but he has lost the support of the military. A military my father created. Without that support, how can he lead." She paused and turned to Colonel Johns, "Please send word to Star Colonel Weaver that I would like to meet with her at Wyvern Castle." Colonel Johns nodded as Kimiko turned and continued to walk towards the transport.
Kimiko allowed the others to trail behind her as she spoke to Jake, "Star Colonel Weaver is the key. If General Macko decides to press his numbers, her elite Clan Mountain Eagle will prove critical." She turned to him with concern in her eyes. "My father was a strong man who knew how to work with people. I don't know if I have such abilities. I fear that my world is on the path for Civil War, and I don't know if I can stop it or win."

I will start right away when we get to the capital city. It will be easier to have human intel from there. Before that, I will try to look if I find anything on him.

Kimiko nodded, "I will have to do my best." She paused and gazed in to Jake's eyes, "my people depend on me to do so." She turned as she continued to walk towards the transport. "I can't wait to show you my home," she said with pride. "Wyvern Castle was rebuilt by my father when he was President. It has been our family home ever since. Before the fall of the Star League, it was a Military Research facility. Within its walls, technologies like Extended Range lasers were discovered," she said as she walked towards the transport.
Adrian and Erik followed behind as they spoke, "don't take this the wrong way. But I am much more adapt at finding people. I will remain behind to conduct our search. What I need you to do Adrian is to look after those two," he said motioning towards Kimiko and Jake. "You need to keep them from making any mistakes that will cast this world in to Civil War." He put his hand on Adrian's arm and forced him to look at him, "I can't tell you how important it is for you to keep Jake and Kimiko informed on what ever information you can find. Find a chance to speak with Jake in private, you need to make sure that he knows that there is a Lyran assassination team out there with Kimiko in their sights."

Smiling gently, Jake said, "Can't wait to see it."
Noting what Alice had said earlier about spotting ER Lasers on a VTOL, he pocketed the information Kimiko had given him, mentally, to tell her later.

Erik nodded and drifted back allowing the group to depart without him. Within moments, the VTOL was back in the air. A short overflight of the Capital City, revealed a city that has been brought to its knees. Nearly every building showed signs of the six month occupation. construction cranes signaled the rebuilding of the city which was already well underway. To the north of the city, a noticeable rail station was in full operation. At the heart of the city is a large walled complex, that Kimiko points out, "that is the Presidential Palace." A pair of Mech Lances are clearly visible on the grounds of the Presidential Palace. Seeing the death and destruction, even from this height was more than enough for Kimiko. The pain on her face is clear to see as the VTOL continues to make its pass over the city.
The VTOL turned north and sped away from the Capital. After about two hours, the VTOL reached its destination. Kimiko pointed out the window as she spoke to Jake, "that is my home. Wyvern Castle"

Looking outside, Adrian was trying to see as much as possible to find out about this new place while keeping an eye on Jack and Kimiko.
He was wondering how he could get access to the data he needed to do his job. To do so, he needed to know as much as possible about this place.
He turned to Kimiko and asked
Excuse me but could you tell us a little more about your home?

She smiled as the VTOL gave a long orbit of Wyvern Castle, "I would love to answer any questions you have."
She pointed to the large landing site to the norther of the castle, "That is Tatsuhara Airbase, named after my Aunt." she said. Adrian could see a Fortress Class Dropship, three Overlord Class Dropships and a Hercules Class Dropship were already on station at the landing site. There were large hangers for fighters and other small craft. Along the parameter of the airbase and the Castle were large heavily reinforced weapon emplacements.
She pointed to the south of the Castle, "that is Wyvern Airfield" she said softly. "That is where we are landing." This smaller military airfield is designed small craft. This airfield was the closest to the Castle, and a pair of vehicles were already waiting for the arrival.
Kimiko turned back to Adrian, "so what would you like to know?"
