Chapter Three: The Brush Fire Wars - Akirapryde - 03-25-2017

CNN News Special Report: The FALL of Olivan!
Coruscant News Network
Broadcast from Coruscant
Date: 2919 AOK (Two months, BEFORE Auro’s Birthday)

Bail: “Good evening to all the citizens of the Galactic Republic. I am Bail Organa.”

Sinya: “And I am Sinya Lefe. We are continuing our special coverage of the Fall of Olivan. Just in case you have not been following the disastrous Jedi Operation to reclaim their Temple on Olivan, allow us to recap.”

Bail: “Just about a year ago, a group of misguided Jedi led by four malicious Jedi Commanders seized the Temple on Olivan. A provocation move meant to strike terror in the hearts and minds of all Republic Citizens. This tragic event led the world leaders of Olivan to declare their independence from the Republic. While a limited number of voices in the senate demanded our beloved Chancellor to react with force, Chancellor Syrdash exercised great restraint.”

“However, the Jedi Grand Council being led by Grand Master Dooku did not have such wisdom. They ordered Master Milani, the Commander of the Jedi’s 5th Legion, to liberate the Temple on Olivan with the Twenty Seventh Jedi Strike Division. The Twenty Seventh Division was one of three heavy division that made up the Jedi’s 5th Legion. Even while the Chancellor sent her own son, Lord Sembla to Olivan to negotiate for peace, Master Milani blazingly moved to attack Olivan.”

“While no one will ever know, who fired the first shot, what will go down in history is that Master Milani commanded the Jedi Task Force that led to the events which unfolded. History will always remember Master Milani as the commander directly responsible for the death and destruction that followed. The Jedi’s mission started off in disaster when Master Milani’s own flagship, the Jedi Cruiser Resolute, was blown from the space above Olivan. This triggered one of the bloodiest conflicts that the Jedi had been part of in over six thousand years.”

“A conflict that Chancellor Syrdash went to great efforts to keep the Republic out of that conflict. Being sympatric to the suffering that was coming, Chancellor Syrdash dispatched Lord Sembla and his elite 2nd Battalion to Olivan to provide humanitarian relief to the innocent lives on Olivan. Chancellor Syrdash gave Lord Sembla clear orders, remain out of the conflict between the warring factions.”

Sinya: “With great reasons. Olivan was a disaster before the Twenty Seventh entered the system. Chancellor Syrdash saw this mistake long before the Twenty Seventh arrived in system. Sadly, the Jedi didn’t realize their mistakes until it was too late. In what should have been an easy situation to resolve through negotiations, instead conflict ensued between the two factions.”

Bail: “And what should have been an easy operation, led to very bitter battles in and around the Capital City. After nearly a month of none stop combat and serious losses, the Grand Council authorized Master Milani to call upon local reinforcements from Baklid. Baklid VI has been a long time Outer Rim ally to the Jedi. One of its ranking rulers, Queen Sinya Chalco was once a Master within the Order. Baklid deployed over a hundred thousand troops and dozens of warships in support of Master Milani’s forces on Olivan.”

“These reinforcements did have a drastic effect in the trajectory of the war. Thanks to the support of these additional troops, Master Milani was able to press the Olivan Militia out of the Capital and drive them north. At the same time, she was able to drive the Olivan Jedi also known as Rogue Jedi, back to their seized Temple. While the Capital was far from secure, with the Militia on the run Master Milani was able to turn her attention to her primary mission of liberating the temple.”

“Unfortunately, the arrival of Baklid forces on Olivan had a negative effect on Olivan. an ultra-extremists group known as The People’s Liberation Army. This barbaric group become more commonly known as simply the Partisans. They were responsible with a series of brutal terrorist style attacks on not only forces belonging to the Jedi, they also carried out attacks on Republic forces under the command of Lord Sembla.”

Sinya: “While there are debates regarding when the Partisans actually took to the fields of Olivan. Many historians will look back at Olivan and at the Partisans as the major factor that changed the course of the conflict. The Partisans upped the level of brutality within the conflicts. They targeted not only Master Milani and her forces, they also targeted Lord Sembla and any Olivanee that gave aide to either faction. They were savage in punishing their own people for what they considered was a betrayal of Olivan. But more importantly the Partisans changed the nature of the conflict on Master Milani and her Jedi.”

“Master Milani’s grand strategy from the beginning was to prevent the Olivan Militia and the Rogue Jedi from being able to join their forces. After driving the Olivan Militia from their own capital, and preventing serval attempts of the Rogue Jedi from joining the battle, Olivan appeared to be a conflict that was nearing its conclusion. And this left the Jedi completely unprepared for what the Partisans were bringing to the battlefield on Olivan.”

Bail: “Despite capturing the Partisan leader, named Jenna, Master Milani was not able to shift the change in the battles back to her favor. In a lack being able to unlock what the Partisan Leader held in her mind, Republic Intelligence requested through the Senate to have the Partisan leader transferred to their custody. As a result, the Partisan leader was official transferred to Lord Sembla’s custody. This act, caused a number of protests to be lodged by Master Dooku. This even triggered a heated debate within the Senate between Chancellor Syrdash and Master Dooku.”

“As the Jedi were using procedural maneuvers within Senate, the Partisans attacked Jedi Forces across the Capital and doing so forced Milani to change her final moves from liberating the Jedi Temple on Olivan to directly confronting the new threat within the City. This drug out the conflict for months. These attacks also caused a profound effect on the Twenty-Seventh’s over all moral and caused a large number of losses. While the precise numbers will never be known, it is suggested that the Partisan losses were extremely high.”

“Unfortunately, not high enough to remove them from the battlefield. However as Master Milani’s forces continued to suffer rising losses, and facing a regrouping of Olivan’s Militia in the north, she sought and received permission from the Grand Council to further expand the conflict. This only compounded the Jedi’s miscalculation of the conflict on Olivan. During this time, the Jedi made several official requests through the Senate for direct Republic support. Each request was killed in the Senate by Chancellor Syrdash and her leadership collation.”

“Lacking support from the Republic, Master Milani was forced to bring in the Jedi’s Fifteenth Heavy Division and placed her Seventh Heavy Division on ready reserve above the world. With the Fifteenth protecting her northern flanks, Master Milani was able to turn and completely face the Partisans in a series of brutal battles for Control over the Capital. As the months started to drag, Milani was no closer to making ground in the Capital than she was when her last group of reinforcements arrived.”

Sinya: “Up until this moment, Lord Sembla, and his 2nd Battalion, had largely been left out of the larger conflict. Only falling victim to local terrorist attacks and suicide bombings. It was through Lord Sembla’s superior leadership skills, that allowed him to keep his forces out of the conflict. It must also be noted that Lord Semble’s ability to reach out to local leaders and create a zone of calm and peace greatly helped minimize attacks against the 2nd Battalion and allowed them to further their humanitarian mission on Olivan.”

“However, this stalling tactic could not hold back the wave of violence that had been unleashed upon Olivan. While the forces under the command of Master Milani were clearly the favorite target of the Partisans, the 2nd Battalion took a number of losses as well, most notable was a suicide attack on Base Camp Mercy. This attack left a bitter scare on the 2nd Battalion’s moral. Though despite these attacks, Lord Sembla was able to still keep the 2nd Battalion relatively neutral in the conflict. With the conflict continuing to grow out of control, Master Milani made a critical mistake.”

Bail: “Jenna had been transferred to Republic custody for transfer off world and questioning regarding the sweeping crisis in the Outer Rim. Lord Sembla had made the wise move to keep Jenna on the Vengeance till safe transfer could be established. There are confirmed reports that Master Milani made a request to interview the Partisan leader Jenna back at her headquarters.”

“While we are unclear as to what happened between Lord Sembla and Master Milani, what is known is that as a result of Master Milani and this transfer, the leader of the Partisans managed to escape. Outraged over the escape, the Security Council had called a special investigation in to the escape. A source close to the investigation said that Master Milani’s personal aide Jedi Knight Sha Koon has been linked to the escape. Rumors of incompetence has been floated in the investigation. However, it must be noted that this information is not conclusive.”

“It also must be stated that Knight Koon’s incompetence occurred only hours prior to Battle of Acfall Heights. Many have linked the timing of the escape as a trigger event for the Battle of Acfall Heights. As many of you might already know, the Battle of Acfall Heights was the only major engagement that the Republic’s 2nd Battalion took part in. During the battle, Lord Sembla led his forces on a grand rescue mission of Jedi Master Kali Demaya.”

“During this heroic battle, the 2nd Battalion fought back wave after wave of Partisan fighters, while Lord Sembla led the rescue mission. According to reports, despite their best efforts Partisans were only to inflict limited casualties. To say it was Lord Sembla’s finest hours, would be an understatement.”

Sinya: “During the Battle of Acfall Heights, an unknown group unleashed a destructive computer virus that crippled Republic and Jedi communication. While Jedi forces on the other side of the city were crippled and suffered heavy losses, Lord Sembla deployed an asset known only as T.O.D. to help them overcome this new crisis. According to sources within Republic Naval Command, this asset allowed the Republic forces to neutralize the virus and throw back the Olivan offensive.”

Bail: “Naval Command is being tight lipped about this asset, only identified as T.O.D. What is known, is the timely leadership, action and wisdom taken by Lord Sembla helped change the tide of battle. Lord Sembla and is forces were able to rescue Jedi Master Demaya and her group. In contrast, the Partisan losses were estimated at well over ten thousand fighters. It was clear that this battle would shape future perceptions of the 2nd Battalion. This was proven by the Partisans failing to mount any measurable offensive against Lord Sembla or his elite unit.”

Sinya: “If only the Jedi had Lord Sembla leading their forces on Olivan.”

Bail: “If the Chancellor’s son was leading the forces on Olivan, Lord Sembla would have shown the same level of compassion and diplomacy as his mother. There would be no conflict on Olivan.”

Sinya: “Agreed, hours leading up to the final battle for Olivan, Lord Sembla made an impassionate plea to Master Milani. It was recorded that a number of members of Lord Sembla’s team reached out to Master Milani. It was clear that Lord Sembla was attempting to bring an end to the conflict. We have an exclusive from Naval Command. Lord Sembla, through his prized asset T.O.D., learned of a pending trap that was targeted at Master Milani and her forces. He tried to convince Master Milani to stop this conflict. Can we get that up for our viewers?”

Quote:This is your last chance to avoid a bloody war. Withdraw your forces now. They using your aggression as fuel to destroy you. Do the right thing or be purged.

Bail: “A chilling warning from a man with a heart of gold. To hear him use such strong words speaks volumes of how much he desired warn her. How much he had tried to stop this senseless conflict.” Looks to Sinya, “I can’t imagine what Lord Sembla must have felt in seeing the truth, knowing the truth and being unable to stop the death around him. Lord Sembla showed true courage.”

Sinya: “Courage runs deep within his family.”

Bail: “Agreed. Ignoring numerous pleas from Lord Sembla, Master Milani rushed headlong in to a foolish battle. A battle that she had no hope of winning. It was during this final battle that Lord Sembla saw no choice but to request that his unit be withdrawn from Olivan. An official order was issued by Naval Command ordering Lord Sembla to abandon his mission on Olivan. Just in time also.”

Sinya: After calling in the last of her reinforcements, Master Milani launched a final push to liberate the Jedi Temple on Olivan. After a long brutal five-hour battle, Master Milani was able to achieve her primary objective. However, her victory would be short lived. With her forces near exhaustion and depleted, they were not ready to face a new threat.”

“Under the command of a man calling himself the King of the Heavens, a massive droid army landed on Olivan and crushed Milani’s forces. We have since learned that this man is none other than Graff Tirrel, Grand Son of slain Chancellor Sephon Tirrel. Nearly two years ago, Graff Tirrel was found guilty of attempting to assassinate Chancellor Syrdash. It was assumed that his transport was lost in space after his ship suffered a hyperspace mishap.”

“Caught completely off guard, the Jedi forces were unable to fend off the droid army. It was an epic battle, and we must recognize the courage of the Jedi forces during their final battle. In the end, it was a hopeless battle that Milani’s forces couldn’t win. It is rumored that Master Milani was killed by Graff Tirrel in single combat. With their leader dead, and hopeless outnumbered, the surviving Jedi forces on Olivan were forced to surrender.”

“After the battle, Lord Sembla reached out to Mr. Tirrel and asked for a meeting. Lord Sembla managed to do in a few minutes what Master Milani wasn’t able to accomplish in nearly a year of conflict. Lord Sembla secured peace on Olivan. According to reports coming out of Naval Command, Lord Sembla made no concessions or accepted no guilt that belonged to the Jedi. Instead, he received assurances that no Republic world would be targeted by Tirrel’s forces. More so, fifteen hundred survivors of Milani’s forces were allowed to leave Olivan thanks to Lord Sembla.”

Bail: “With peace finally secured on Olivan, the final body count in terms of Jedi losses has been completed. The Jedi lost their entire 5th Legion. During the nearly yearlong conflict, three hundred fifty thousand Republic and Baklid lives were lost. The Jedi lost eleven Venator class Star Destroyers, six Acclamators class assault ships, ten Arquitens class light cruiser. There were a number of ships from the Baklid navy lost as well, though we don’t have those numbers currently. What is now being called the single largest defeat the Jedi has suffered in recent history, has many in the Senate screaming for an investigation.”

Sinya: “Within days of the Republic full withdraw from Olivan, Graff Tirrel launched an brutal attack on Olivan’s closest neighbor, the independent world of Baklid VI. After the massive defeat that they and the Jedi suffered on Olivan, the Baklid military was in no shape to mount a defense against Graff’s forces. While there were sparse battles in and around the capital, the world largely fell without any serious conflict. Sources on Baklid claims the attack was a liberation of slaves working within Baklid’s mines.”

Bail: “Call it what you want, invasion is just what it is. An invasion. This Graff is a creation of the Jedi and their incompetence in the Outer Rim. Now they have unleashed this monster upon the innocent worlds of the Outer Rim. The Rogue Jedi of Olivan have recognized Graff Terril as their official leader and now call him General. How many worlds will suffer because of the Jedi’s mistakes.”

Sinya: “We may not know how many will fall, Bail. What we do know, is that currently the Jedi Academies on Ammuud, Bonadan and Kamar have all declared their separation from the Coruscant Temple. These Academies have all recognized General Graff as their military leader. As a reaction to these events, the Chancellor has placed Republic forces on Sembla and on Telos on full alert. The Jedi have placed their commands on Fray, Lorrd and Cadomai on full alert as well.”

Bail: “Military analyst close to the Olivan investigation suspect they know what the Rogue Jedi will do. They suspect that the Rogue Jedi’s next move could be in a series of conflicts around the Tingel Arm to secure their holdings in the Aparo, Wyl, and the Corporate Sectors. These battles could resemble small brush fires forcing the Jedi to deal with these battles on an individual basis. What I know, we have not heard the last of this monster known as General Graff.”

CNN News Report: Year of Elections - Akirapryde - 05-20-2017

CNN News Report: Year of Elections
Coruscant News Network
Broadcast from Coruscant
Date: 2920 AOK (Six Months before Chancellor Syrdash’s End of Term)

Bail: “Good evening to all the citizens of the Galactic Republic. I am Bail Organa.”

Sinya: “And I am Sinya Lefe. We bring exciting news that is coming out of the Republic Senate. Just moments ago, the Chancellor’s office reported that Chancellor Syrdash will hold elections in six months for any challenger that wishes to oppose her leadership. For months, concerns have been growing that the Chancellor would oppose the upcoming elections. While legally, the Chancellor is permitted to run for a second term, it had been tradition for the Chancellor to step down after their first four-year term.”

Bail: “A tradition that our previous Chancellor had broken. Up to this date, Chancellor Syrdash had been using her limited Constitution powers as Chancellor through ‘Chancellor's prerogative’ to help navigate these trouble waters. If it had not been for her leadership, the Republic would have been drawn in to the Jedi War in the Outer Rim.”

Sinya: “No one can deny that the Chancellor has been using Chancellor’s Prerogative to bypass the Senate on many key issues. It is this very issue that has many Senator’s worried. Because of this concern, there are two bills working their way through the Senate. Both bills, if passed by the Senate, would prevent the current Chancellor to run for re-election. The rationale behind these bills is that Chancellor Syrdash is currently finishing the incomplete second term of late Chancellor Sephon Tirrel. As this would have been his last term allowed by the Constitution, a growing band of Senators are attempting to force Chancellor Syrdash out of office.”

Bail: “A cowardly move because those few Senator’s know that there is no viable candidate that could hold a Candle to the leadership that Chancellor Syrdash brings to the table.”

Sinya: “I would disagree, Senator Finis Valorum, the senior delegate from Veccacopia. Senator Valorum has a long record in the Senator. He has served in many Committees as well as played key roles in breaking up corruption rings. And even though he is not a former or current member of the Jedi Order, he has gained their official support for Chancellor.”

Bail: “Senator Valorum!” he scoffs, “The Senate will not elect a Chancellor who has not been a Jedi. For over six thousand years, NO Chancellor has won election who was had not been a member of the Jedi Grand Council. Mark my words, it won’t happen!”

Sinya: “Senator Valorum has multiple contacts in the Outer Rim. Contacts that he could use to help…..”

Bail: “Contacts? More like entanglements! You don’t create that many connections and not owe someone something!”

Sinya: “Bail, I have watched you over the past three years pick apart the integrity of numerous good people. Yet, you have not once mentioned how you have been invited to special functions hosted by the Chancellor’s Office. Don’t you think you owe the people of the Republic the truth?”

Bail: “Sinya, I wouldn’t expect someone from the Outer Rim to understand how real news reporting works.” He turned to face Sinya, “We create trust with our government through reporting the truth. Take the unbelievable reports of Lord Sembla running off with an underaged girl. That is hardly the truth. Because I have been so truthful in my reporting, the Chancellor entrusted me with the truth. And just today, she cleared me to make this truth public. Lord Sembla and his Padawan, were ordered to the uncharted regions to hunt down the dangerous criminal, Orchid! As we speak, the Chancellor has called an Extraordinary Session of the Republic Senate. In this Session, she is explaining the special mission that she had ordered Lord Sembla on. So, now tell me why you feel that my special functions are reason to be concerned by our viewers?”

Sinya: “I…um….I wasn’t aware….”

Bail: “Yes I know. So, while you are trying to attack my own credibility, the Chancellor’s own son. Lord Sembla is risking his own life. The Chancellor has ordered her own son, to hunt down one of the Galaxies most dangerous criminals. If more Citizens from the Outer Rim would just make a little sacrifice, than the Chancellors job would be a lot easier.”

Sinya: “Bail, it’s not like that.”

Bail: “Sure it is. As we speak, the Chancellor’s own representatives are meeting with members of the OPA. Where is your Valorum!? Oh wait, I know where he is. I just saw him two nights ago trying to gain political support for his bid for Chancellor. See Sinya, that is the difference between those of the Outer Rim and those of the Core Worlds. Those like Chancellor Syrdash try to resolve problems, not use them for political gain.”

Sinya: “But Chancellor Syrdash is from the Outer Rim, and Senator Valorum’s world of origin is Coruscant!”

Bail: laughs “Sinya, Bail may have been born on Coruscant. But from what I have seen, He has forgotten what it means to be Core. And Chancellor Syrdash has proven time and time again, that her priority is the Republic! She has really been a leader of the people.”

Sinya: “Bail, Valorum has the future of the Republic in his mind. I have heard his speeches as of late. He fears a war in the Outer Rim. He wishes engagement with the worlds of the OPA. Just like what the Chancellor has taken. But he also feels that a military build-up only fuels fear in worlds that see the OPA as a more viable option.”

Bail: “Senator Valorum would throw open the gates of the Republic and allow the invaders in. Unlike you, Sinya, I am not going to use this public service channel to forward my own political views. I will speak the facts. And those facts are this. Chancellor Syrdash has chosen a position of strength and open, insightful, dialog with the OPA member worlds. She even had plans to speak with the Terrorist Graff Tirrel. Unfortunately, due to personal family matters that meeting had to be cancelled. The Chancellor had expressed her disappointment that that meeting had to be cancelled, but is hopeful that the other meetings will prove to be fruitful.”

Sinya: “Senator Valorum has championed the Fray Reconstruction Act in the Senate.”

Bail: “An Act that will never be accepted by Fray. Woven within that Act is the complete demilitarization of Fray and marking Fray as a Demilitarization Zone.”

Sinya: “That language was placed in to the Act by the Senate Security Committee after Valorum stepped forward and started to champion the passage of the Act. Like many senators, he directly opposes that provision. Yet, forces within the Senate Security Committee refuse to remove the provision. Doesn’t Chancellor Syrdash have allies on the Senate Security Committee?”

Bail: “She does, but that doesn’t mean she will use her position to thumb the Senate to her will. That would be usurping the democracy of the Senate. And Sinya, I am ashamed that you would even suggest such a thing.”

Sinya: “Damnit Bail, that is not what I meant and you know it!”

Bail: He turns back to Sinya, “Sinya, control yourself. We are live, and our viewer deserve a respectful level of professionalism.” He turns back to the cameras, “while you are bringing yourself under control. While the Chancellor herself opposes, the provision placed in to the Fray Reconstruction Act, she also accepts that the people of Fray badly needs the funds within that Act. Only because of this, does she support passage of the Act. She has made this clear in several speeches before the Senate. The Act contains a treaty with the OPA that will match the Republic’s marking of Fray as a Demilitarize Zone, and honor the complete Demilitarization of this vital world. A treaty that others had said was impossible. Yet the Chancellor could negotiate this treaty through her representatives. Once more, proving her skill as a viable and strong leader of the Republic.”

Sinya: sighs heavily, “The Fray Reconstruction Act will only be tossed back in our faces by the people of Fray. I can’t see a scenario where they will give up their weapons and trust on the Republic and the OPA to protect them. Senator Valorum has already hinted at this. Still the Senate is pressing forward with this vote.”

Bail: “We are out of time, so I would like to offer our thanks and support to Chancellor Syrdash. For all her work in keeping us safe. Thank you, and may the Force be you, Chancellor.”

CNN News Special Report: Lo'Uran Under siege! - Akirapryde - 05-28-2017

CNN News Special Report: Lo'Uran Under siege!
Coruscant News Network
Broadcast from Coruscant
Date: 2920 AOK (Four Months before Chancellor Syrdash’s End of Term)

Bail: “Good evening to all the citizens of the Galactic Republic. I am Bail Organa.”

Sinya: “And I am Sinya Lefe. We interrupt your regular schedule to bring you the latest regarding the events occurring the Capital City of Phtarkiee, on the Outer Rim World of Lo’Uran. Home to a peaceful people called the F'Tame.”

Bail: “What we have to bring you, is so damning that its shockwaves have yet to be felt here in the Core Worlds. There has never been any doubt that the Jedi have mishandled their growing crisis in the Outer Rim. We can no longer hold the Olivan Jedi, or Rogue Jedi as the victims in this situation.”

Sinya: “A large group of peaceful protestors have marched on the Jedi Temple on Lo’Uran. The Temple is located on the outskirts of Phtarkiee, and was supposed to be protected by the Lo’Uran government.”

Bail: “While the initial reports claim that the protestors were peaceful. These peaceful individuals rushed the Temple, over powered the Temple Guards, and seized the first two floors of the Temple. Nearly two hundred Jedi, Padawans, and support personal were forced in to the upper levels of the temple. Rumors indicate that the Grand Council has yet to make any action in response to this latest crisis.”

Sinya: *while glancing at Bail* “While the speculations fly regarding this latest situation on Lo’Uran. *Turns back to the cameras* What is known for sure is that this situation comes right after a recent heated election, where the incumbent Planetary Governor was unseated from office. Recently elected Cirra stated in her first official speech that Lo’Uran could no longer provide protection to the Jedi Temple.”

Bail: “A bit of a backstory here to help you make sense of these events. For thousands of years, the Jedi have protected the people of Lo’Uran. Whom might I add, offers pretty songs and colorful trinkets to the Republic. For thousands of years, the Jedi have faithful protected these people. And while many of you know, I am no fan of the Jedi, this kind of betrayal just proves the point that these people simply can’t be trusted.”

Sinya: “There is actually more to that story Bail. It was the events of Olivan that sowed these seeds. During the Jedi’s operation on Olivan, the Temple on Lo’Uran was used as a staging area for supplies and personal heading to Olivan. This caused a worldwide outcry from the F'Tame. At first the protests around the Temple were completely peaceful….”

Bail: “Peaceful in terms of showing your disloyalty to Republic while supporting beheading terrorists.”

Sinya: “There were more than a few incidents where the protests became violent. Each of these incidents were linked to off-worlders, all of whom were arrested by the local government. It was due to these off-worlders, that the Jedi and Lo’Uran government worked out a deal that Lo’Uran would deploy its own civil defense force to keep the protestors at distance from the Temple. While the violence was reduced, public opinion continued to shift from the local government.

Bail: “For months, Cirra claimed that the Jedi were war mongering and that they would only bring war to Lo’Uran. It must be mentioned that this Cirra is one of those gullible people that bought in to the whole Heaven thing.....”

Sinya: “A movement that has been growing across the Outer Rim. Lo’Uran is only one of many worlds that has seen its citizens joining this religious group.”

Bail: “Religious group….more like a band of opportunist and con-artists.” *Momentary Pause* “After her landslide victory, Cirra ordered Lo’Uran’s civil defense force away from the Jedi Temple and in a fiery speech, stopped short of ordering the Jedi off world.”

Sinya: “But she didn’t order them off world. In fact, Governor Cirra asked the Jedi to stop carrying out actions that went against the philosophies of her people.”

Bail: “Yes, the actions that were attempting to keep her people safe. And let it be known that these are the same people that have stormed the Jedi Temple and have forced those living within to hide for their very lives. I can’t imagine what those Jedi are having to endure as we speak. If Olivan is any measure of these Worshipers of Heaven or whatever they are calling themselves today, then my heart goes out to these Jedi.”

Sinya: “Bail, I am glad that you have brought up the plight of the Jedi on Lo’Uran and how their temple was overrun by hordes of protestors. It is lucky for us, that we have a short video of how the temple was stormed.”

Bail: *looking confused* “We have footage of that?”

Sinya: “Yes. Before the accident in our control room took place, I copied the footage that was sent to us by a source on world.” *with a smile she pulls out a holoplayer* “Please forget the quality, but..” she said turning it on. “As you see, a group of five F’Tame holding only candles advanced on the Temple Guards and a handful of Jedi. A growing group of protesters started to follow this group of five. You can hear them singling as they refused to obey orders to stop. Here, you can see the Jedi and their Guards started to move backwards. If you listen close enough to their song, you can hear that they are singing something about a baby sent from Heaven.”

Sinya: “It was clear that their motivation was driven by the Worshipers of Heaven. As this group of five continued to advance on the Temple, the crowds continued to grow behind them. Despite having their lightsabers activated, the Jedi continued to withdraw back towards the Temple. At this point, the Temple Guards were ordered back in to the Temple by this Jedi, though his name remains a mystery at this time, it is thanks to this person that this situation didn’t end on bloodshed.”

Sinya: “Now we don’t know why the Temple wasn’t sealed. Maybe there wasn’t time, maybe there was a malfunction in the main doors. What we do know is that these five continued to advance singing their song and holding their candles. Notice the large crowd behind them. Our estimates place this crowd around four to five hundred strong. We believe that this crowd centered on this group from other parts of the Temple. There is nothing that suggests at this time, that this was a planned operation. Now, as we watch them enter the Temple, we can hear their song come to an end and they sing a more upbeat, maybe victorious song.”

Sinya: “While we don’t have any footage of what happened within the temple, what we can suspect is that the Jedi continued to withdraw from the lower levels rather than create a violent situation. As you can see, neither side demonstrated any measure of violence. While I too have been overly critical of the Jedi, I have to give credit to the remarkable show of control during this situation. My own sources in the Outer Rim, reported to me just before I came on air that those F'Tame occupying the Temple had a message for the Jedi.”

Sinya: “The message is as follows, ‘We will advance no further in to the Jedi Temple. Their philosophies no longer match our own. We have found truth, and expect that this be respected. We respectfully ask the Jedi to leave our world.’ Shortly after this story broke, the Government of Lo’Uran announced to the Republic Senate, their intention to leave the Republic.”

Sinya: *With a bold smile she turned to Bail* “Bail? Would you like to add anything?”

Bail: “um….no…..we will keep our viewers updated as this situation continues to develop………”

(OOC: To hear their song, please check this out. While this is their song, remember that F'Tame are fair of skin. They have silver hair with hints of blue. The most notable feature is the two crystal like growths above their eyes.)

To have a better image of the F'Tame, here is where I got the inspiration for their appearance.

CNN Nightly Report: Chancellor unveils a new unit - Akirapryde - 06-01-2017

CNN Nightly Report: Chancellor unveils a new unit
Coruscant News Network
Broadcast from Coruscant
Date: 2920 AOK (Four Months before Chancellor Syrdash’s End of Term)

Bail: “Good evening to all the citizens of the Galactic Republic. I am Bail Organa.”

Sinya: “And I am Sinya Lefe. We would like to start our nightly report with a surprising revelation made by the Chancellor today.”

Bail: “It takes courage to face the troubles of the Galaxy. It takes courage on the level of heroic, to face the Galaxy’s future troubles. Before we go in to this, let’s hear a short part of her speech given to the graduating cadets of the Republic Navy War College on Anaxes. Can we run the video?”

Quote:“I stand here today and look out across this parade field. I see many of the faces I saw six years ago. All of you know who I am. Six years ago, I stood right here and warned you all of the corruption that had woven in to our Republic. I warned you all six years ago about the dangers that faced our Republic. I made a promise to you back then as your General of the Grand Army of the Republic. I promised that if you managed to survive the new training regiment, which included a more intensive focus on loyalty, leadership skills and tactical skills that I would have something remarkable for all of you.”

“I warned you, that not all of you would make it. And from the size of this class, not all of you made the cut. I am pleased to see that most of you did. You have bleed, pushed yourselves and grow beyond your limits to become the very best graduating class the Republic has ever seen. You proved your loyalty to the Republic and its military chain of command. You proved to be not only the best in terms of leadership, but you have proven yourselves to be the best in tactical and strategic skills. But most of all, you have proven your loyalty time and time again. While I had demanded much more from you than any other class before you, I have given of myself to you as well.”

“Repeatedly, I have set down with each of you. Together we have explored your training, your weaknesses, your strengths. This was a journey that we all took together. Every one of you has served aboard my Flagship, within my personal guard. As the highest-ranking officer in the Military I ensured that you had the best training possible. As Chancellor, I ensured that this training was not threatened by bureaucratic budget cuts. I placed your training at the top of my military agenda. And now, we have first-hand evidence of the results of this new training program. A system that I created and fought for years ago. I wish I could take the credit for this. But in truth, I can’t. You, and you alone are due this credit. This program would have failed if not for your devotion and loyalty!”

“Now, I stand before you as your Chancellor. Without obstacles, I can now make good on that promise. Behold!”

Two Acclamators move in to position over the parade field and start to land behind the graduating class. At the same time, two more Acclamators along with four Venators hovered over the parade field. Once the two large ships landed, four large columns of troops started to march on the parade grounds. Within minutes the large unit had formed up in a large box around the viewing stands, graduates and all the observers. Their armor was completely white except for those of rank who wore painted shoulder plates. Their armor was like standard Republic Armor but it was also different in some ways. This was a full body uniform to include an enclosed helmet.

“Six years ago, I told you that the days of political Officers corrupting our ranks were over. Before this day, we relied upon recruits to make up the ranks of our great military. Many of those recruits brought their own agendas to our military. Loyalties that were not to the Republic have continued to cause harm and helped to destabilize the Outer Rim. Today, those days end! Before you, are the men of the 1st Republican Guard. Clones, created to serve the Republic. Engineered for war. And like you, their loyalty to the Republic is absolute. Their conviction to our way of life without question. And like you, their obedience to the Chain of Command is without flaw!”

“All they need is an Officer Corps to lead them. In breaking with tradition, I have used my executive authority to place each of you within the ranks of the 1st Republican Guard. Gone are the days of the politically powerful and elite making military decisions that drive the Republic in to crisis. These units will serve alongside loyal Republic units and form the backbone of our new reformed military. As we continue this reform the class behind you will assume command of the 2nd Republican Guard. While we started this journey six years ago, we still have much to do.”

“The Republic deserves a military that is not only capable, but free from the corruption that has invested the Senate and the Jedi. The Republic deserves a military Corps that its citizens can be proud of and look to during times of crisis. I have spoken to you, and to the citizens of the Republic. Now I turn to the brave Clones of the 1st Republican Guards. You have been selected from your classes because you have proven to be the best. Hear me when I say, you will be under the command of the best leadership the Republic has to offer. To you my soldiers, I give you the Graduating Class of 2920!”

Both the graduating class and the clones all shout out their cheers

Bail: “Once more, the Chancellor is making good on her promise to tackle corruption within the ranks of the military and across the Republic.”

Sinya: “However this surprising revelation was not well received by some members of the Republic Senate. Senator Mas Amedda stated that the Chancellor’s most recent reform of the military once more slips Senatorial oversight from the military. He stated that this is a bold and dangerous move by the Chancellor during an election year.”

Bail: “Dangerous for the weak of heart. However, this promise fulfilled has rewarded support by the Chancellor’s base and ensured that her reelection would be a forgone conclusion.”

Sinya: “There are concerns and unanswered questions regarding this new Division. Who authorized these clone divisions? Where were they built? Who will oversee these units if not the Senate? Why are there no Jedi within these division’s leadership. These questions are being raised by many Senators. But I do have to agree with you Bail. This move has sent cheers across Chancellor Syrdash’s base and even renewed the support of some that were questioning her leadership in light of the Outer Rim Crisis.”

Bail: “I personally hope that these new Clone Divisions strike fear in the hearts of those who are corrupt. I hope that they look to these new Divisions and start to question their own future in the Senate. For too long, the political elite, members of the Deep State, have manipulated power to ensure that the rich keep their wealth and the poor continue to suffer. For the first time, the Republic has a Chancellor that is fighting for the welfare of all Republic Citizens, not just the elite.”

Sinya: “I will agree that the Chancellor has made a number of moves to sure up her base. This week she is planning a tour of the Mid and Outer Rim. While her official stops are considered secret, it is rumored that she will be making stops at refugee camps and speaking with local leaders about the growing crisis. At the same time, she has announced a new series of Executive Orders aimed at job creation. Even before the ink dried on those Executive Orders, they were challenged by a dozen senators claiming executive overreach.”

Bail: “We have to go to break, but when we return we will be talking about the sudden surge in Tourism across the Inner Rim and the economic growth that it has spurred. Again, thanks to the efforts of our Chancellor and her ‘See the Republic Initiative.’

Darkness on The Move
Within Kwymar sector
OPA Liberator (Flagship OPA Navy)
Providence-class carrier/destroyer
2920 AOK

Graff’s personal battlefleet was one of the most fearsome forces in the Outer Rim. This fleet outgunned nearly every Republic fleet in the Outer Rim in single match up. For this reason, wherever the fleet moved, the Republic watched very closely via a special cloak-ship dedicated for this mission. For the past few months, the fleet remained in orbit over Baklid VI as its Republic shadow watched.

However, a couple of months ago, the fleet powered up its engines and left the Devin system, with its shadow following closely. While the fleet was in transit, military analysts attempted to discover the destination of the fleet. It wasn’t long before Republic intelligence learned that the fleet linked up with a second group of warships. This caused a great deal of concerns throughout Republic Outer.

These concerns were well founded. Graff’s battlefleet normally consisted of six Munificent-class star frigates, four Lucrehulk-class battleships, and Graff’s personal flagship, the Liberator, a Providence-class destroyer. But now, the fleet picked up another pair of Munificent-class star frigates and a pair of new ships. They were classified as Subjugator-class heavy interdictor cruisers. These new OPA ships were built at the Pammant Docks in the Calamari Sector.

The fleet reentered Hyperspace, Republic commands across the Tingel Arm were alerted that Graff’s fleet was on the move. Only hours later was it learned that Graff’s fleet was on route for Telos. Telos was a world in conflict between Coruscant Jedi and Rogue factions. The Governor of Telos and the local Rogue Jedi Master had requested OPA intervention when a Jedi battlefleet arrived in system.

Watching live, the Chancellor and her most senior advisors observed these two new OPA warships in battle. This battle footage came from the Republic’s lone cloak-ship, as it watched the battle unfold. The Subjugator cruisers employed very powerful gravity wells to trap the eight Jedi warships in system. While the use of gravity wells was nothing new, what was special about these ships were the size of the fields that they could produce and the speeds that they were deployed. It was enough to give the Republic Navy reason to be alarmed. They quickly dispatched a fleet wide alert regarding these new warships.

Unable to flee, the Jedi were forced to turn and fight. The battle lasted for almost an hour and in the end, the Jedi were defeated. The last two remaining Jedi warships, were forced to surrender. Unlike the reputation of Olivan, Graff had started to allow the survivors of Jedi forces to surrender in good faith of being returned. He personally ensured their protection as they boarded civilian ships and returned to the Core Worlds in defeat. With the space battle over, Graff deployed his ground forces and ended the Jedi’s bid to control Telos.

Graff and his forces were welcomed on Telos as liberating heroes. After the battle, Graff bid his time on Telos wisely. He repaired his own ships and repaired four former Jedi warships (the two Venator-class Star Destroyer and a pair Arquitens-class light cruisers). Once the ships were hyperspace capable, he sent them along with two Munificents as escorts back to Baklid for further repairs. The question hovering around Republic Naval Command was where would Graff move his fleet to next.

On the Observation Deck of the Liberator, Graff and Frija hovered over a large holotable with a massive map of the entire Tingel Arm of the Galaxy. Around them, stood ten IG-100 MagnaGuard droids, each carrying an electrostaff. Beyond the MagnaGuards were a large group of BX-series droid commando. Unlike other OPA ships, the Liberator was fully manned by specially programmed Commando Droids.

“With the inclusion of Telos, we have Mirial all but surrounded,” Frijia said as she zoomed the map in on the space around Mirial.

Graff nodded, “the last Jedi world holding out.” He took control of the holotable, “however, reports indicate that trouble brews on Fray once more.”

From the back of the Observation Deck, Jenna walked in carrying a baby. “The situation has changed, I say we invade,” she said walking up to the table.

Graff and Frijia both looked and over towards Jenna. It was Graff that spoke, “we invade Fray, then we would trigger a war with the Jedi, possibly even the Republic. Once shots are fired, no one will win.”

Jenna walked up to the table and set her son on the table. His small hands passed through the holographic worlds as he giggled. “We have the ships, forces and support to challenge the Jedi. It’s time that we answer Jedi deception and aggression with our own show of force.” She looked in to Graff’s eyes, “the Jedi is a fading candle in the darkness. Its time to snuff out their light.”

Frijia took a step back from the table, “Graff, Jenna is right, our support in the Outer Rim grows daily. The Church of Heaven now had more followers than those who support the Jedi in the Outer Rim. It’s time that we send the Jedi a powerful message. It’s time that we take Mirial. And the key to that world’s fall, is Fray.”

Graff slammed his open hand down on the table, “I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OPEN WARFARE....” he paused as he noticed his loud words startled his son. “Listen, Mirial will be ours. This much is true,” he said then turned to Frijia. “Let the Jedi be the aggressor. Only if we are the victims of their aggression can our allies in the Senate keep war from the Outer Rim." he paused a moment before adding, "no, we move only in reaction to the Jedi’s action.” He saw that Frijia was about to say something but cut her off, “for now, we build our support, gather our strength and bide our time.”

A chime at the table caused the three darksiders to pause. Jenna activated the holotable and a bluish image of Trysta came to life. “Greetings, My Lord” she said with a short bow. Trysta had proven herself to be a resourceful commander and because of that, had been placed in command of one of Graff’s new Subjugators. “I have important news. Our mission to Naboo has failed.” Graff and Frijia both couldn’t contain the shock on their faces. Jenna on the other hand bore no surprise or emotion. Trysta continued, “The Resolute was responding to a distress call when she was fired upon by the Jedi at Meridian Station.”

Graff’s anger was hard to control, “how was that possible. They were not supposed to be anywhere near that area.”

Trysta waved her hand so that she would be allowed to continue, “I don’t know the full details yet. What I do know is that it was a huge misunderstanding. We did not provoke the attack.”

Frijia leaned forward, “and what of the Merci!” Frijia spoke of the hospital ship that they had secured services of from Naboo.

“Lost with all hands,” Trysta said as she dropped her head. She slowly rose her head, “but there are survivors. And the Republic is looking to let them come home.”

Graff smiled as he looked at Jenna, “you see, Jenna. Show some compassion and our enemies will do the same.”

Jenna’s lips frowned slightly, “compassion is for the weak” she said under her breath and filled with hatred for the people that would have murdered her son, like they did her first child.

Frijia ignored the comments around her as she spoke to Trysta, “I take it that your little spy is the source of this information?”

Trysta smiled, “yes, of course. He has truly proven to be a valuable asset to us. When he learned that there were younglings among the survivors, he ensured that they would be returned to us. They suggest the neutral world of Fray.”

Graff smiled, “Take the Arc Flash and…..”

Jenna rested her hand on Graff’s hand, “My Lord, if you would please. Your wisdom up to this point has proven to be flawless. Might I suggest, we carry a great deal of supplies aboard. We could offer to our friends on Fray. If we won’t invade Fray by force, then shall we invade with our good intentions?” She paused a moment, “I have learned, through the Force, that a Jedi relief mission to Fray had been attacked by pirates. Our supplies would arrive just in time.”

Frijia watched Jenna closely as her eyes narrowed. She knew all too well that Jenna’s dark path left no room for compassion or kindness. In fact, Frijia knew that Jenna only cared for two beings in the entire Galaxy. They were her son and Graff. This sudden change was a plot woven within the darkside. She knew that Jenna had something up her sleeve, but didn’t know what.

Graff often felt the draw of the darkside. It commanded him at times. He felt its power surging through him. In the distance and through it, he heard the steady pace of the drums of war pounding. But he also wanted to be different. He wanted to lead the OPA as a just and fair ruler. Not one bent on conquest and suffering. He wanted his leadership to be center on honor and nobility. Much like that of his grandfather and sister. There were times he was worried about Jenna and her devotion to his vision of the OPA, but then, like right now, she would surprise him.

He nodded as he smiled, “you are right.” He looked up to Trysta, “contact your spy and let him know that we will be there.” He filled his lungs with pride, “announce to the fleet that we will be providing humanitarian support to our friends on Fray.”

Trysta smiled and nodded, “as you wish My Lord.” Her image faded.

Graff tapped the controls and an image of a Droid Commando came in to being over the table. “Commander, inform the Governor of Telos that we request as many supplies that they can offer us. Tell him that our OPA brothers and sisters on Fray are in need. Once we have loaded up, set a course for Fray.”

“Roger Roger,” the Droid said then his image faded.

Graff turned and smiled, “I have to notified the OPA Parliament of the situation and our intentions.”

Frijia nodded, “I will continue to go over the maps. I want to be ready for anything that the Jedi might throw at us.”

Graff nodded and turned to Jenna, “Jenna?”

She shook her head, “I have meditation to do. I want to make sure that Trysta’s spy doesn’t led us in to a trap.”

Once more he nodded, “good idea.” Graff turned and walked away as five of the MagnaGuards turned and followed him.

As Graff walked away, Frijia flipped through the charts almost aimlessly. Once the doors closed behind him, she leaned forward, “Don’t lie to me, Jenna! What do you have up your sleeve?!”

Jenna smiled as her hands flew over the controls of the holotable. Her son watched and giggled, “Graff will be betrayed by someone he holds dear on Fray.” She spoke truthfully.

Frijia snapped back with shock, “Why would you not warn him that Fray is a trap!”

Jenna looked up through the image of maps with a sense of darkness across her face, “Graff’s survival is in the hands of the Lord of Darkness now. It is up to our Lord to decide his fate.” Her voice deepened, and almost commanding, “and you will speak this to no one.” Frijia didn't have any choice but to nod her compliance as an image of a T-Series Tactical Droid came alive on the table. “Commander Kalani.”

The droid nodded, “My Dark Lady, how may I be assistance.”

Jenna smiled, “Commander, I am sending you coordinates of a Jedi relief convoy. There you will find a pair of light cruisers and several Pelta-class frigates loaded with vital supplies bound for Fray. Commander I want that relief convoy to vanish without a trace. Your orders from Graff are to link up with any nearby units and strike the convoy. You are to ensure no survivors.”

The droid nodded, “I understand, My Dark Lady.”

Jenna broke the link and looked up at Frijia whom smiled back at her. Frijia’s smile continued to grow as she saw the plot coming in to place. “Creating a crisis so that Graff arrives just in time to be the hero once more,” she said folding her arms across her chest. “I thought I was the devious one.”

Jenna glanced at her son, “he will rule a unified Galaxy under the flag of the New Sith Order.”

Frijia, “so how will this play in to your plan. They will not dare attack Graff. So, your vision of Graff being betrayed must be wrong.”

“They will,” Jenna said softly as she reached over and picked up her son. She looked in to her son’s eyes as he reached up and touched her face. Her voice softened in tone as she spoke, “you leave that to me. Their loyalties to Graff will be proven and the Jedi will lose their most vital assets in the Outer Rim. Or they will be shown to be the traitors to his cause. Either way, Fray will trigger a war that will spread across the Outer Rim and consume that dying Republic. From the ashes of that war, the Sith will raise once more.”

Frijia’s smile vanished, “if Graff ever finds out that you were behind all these ‘crisis’s’ he will kill you.”

Jenna smiled and nodded, “I love Graff,” she said holding her son. “He has made all of this possible.” She switched her son to her other arm, “But you know the path we are on. The Lord of Darkness has commanded that my son, will inherit a unified Galaxy. And that Galaxy won’t be born until we burn this one to the ground.”

“As always,” Frijia said as she slightly lowered her head in respect, “I am a servant of the Darkness. My life, for the Lord of Darkness.”

Jenna smiled and looked at her son, “As am I, a servant of the Darkness. My life, for the Lord of Darkness.”

Twisted Visions
Aparo Sector
Falcon Crest
YT-1300
2920 AOK

Unna set along trying to mediate over the events of the past few days. This ship was nowhere near large enough for her. This was not the Vengeance, that was for sure. Using a bit of cleverness, Unna found a place where she could be alone for a few hours. She locked herself inside one of the escape pods!

Sitting in the escape pod, she found peace and could center herself. Her mind felt the currents of the Force brushing and washing over her. She could hear distress and screaming beyond the clouds and fog of the vision. She didn’t need to focus, the Force guided her through what appeared to be a great city. It was cast in shadows and darkness, as forms were obscured by thick smoke.

Unna could hear what appeared to be a news broadcast, “There’s rioting breaking out across the Senate District.”

Unna’s form slowly drifted overhead as she saw the fires the reporter was speaking about, “Fires are continuing to burn everywhere.”

Unna could see soldiers clad in blue armor locked in heated combat with each other as the reporter continues. She knew that these blue armored figures were Republican Guards. Elite forces who serve the Senate. “Troops are shooting each.” It appeared that one faction was attempting to breach the Senate while the other faction attempted to hold them back.

As she drifted over the battle, she could see many wounded civilians littering the Senate Plaza. “My God, I don’t know why….There is a woman dying in front of me and no one is helping her.” Far beyond this place of combat, Unna saw streets filled with protesters. On one of the signs, she saw the words, “OUR CHANCELLOR!” The protesters were attempting to break through police barriers as they marched towards the Senate Plaza.

The police blockades were manned by both Coruscant Security Force and Jedi. While the Jedi were doing a good job at restraining themselves, the protesters were not making any such attempts as they threw rocks and firebombs. Some used their signs as make shift weapons.

As Unna continued to watch the chaos taking place across this region of Coruscant, In her mind she heard that news caster speaking once more, “There are conflicting reports as to who or what starting the chaos.” Her vision centered on a massive Acclamator slowly landing while waves of LAATs conducted landings nearby. High above, a Venator and a swarm of fighters provided air support for the troop landings.

“I am being told that the Vice Chair has declared a state of emergency….” The voice said. “Someone tell me what is happening…..”

A group of air speeders landed near the Senate Plaza and a group of Jedi joined the chaos as Republic fighters swooped overhead. It was then that Unna realized that these fighters belonged to the Tenth Division, and bore marking indicating that they were assigned to the Vengeance. “What is this madness?” There was genuine confusion and concern in the man’s voice. An explosion erupted near the Senate building. Unna could see the new troops, which only could be the tenth division, fighting alongside a faction of the Republic Guard while the Jedi were fighting on the opposite side. “What is Coruscant coming to?”

Moves and Counter Moves - Akirapryde - 07-22-2017

Moves and Counter Moves
Royal Palace
Devin (AKA Baklid VI)
Aparo Sector
2920 AOK

The Royal Palace of Devin has stood the test of time. Built by the Dark Lord, Alarani, the Palace once was a central part of great Sith Empire. It was said that Lord Alarani built the Palace a on top of an ancient Temple of a long-lost culture. And from this temple, which ruins could be found in the deepest parts of the Palace, Lord Alarani was able to harness considerable power. During its height of power, the Palace stood as a symbol of Sith power and influence across the region. Enough power and influence to even challenge his fellow Sith Lords.

While he was a Sith, Alarani coveted great power. As the war between the Sith and the Republic raged, Alarani sought to betray his own allies to advance his own power. To further this end, Alarani made a blood pack with a group of Force Witches. He granted them access to the ancient Temple and they would unlock its secrets for him. Through dark alchemy, the Witches gave Alarani hordes of nightmare monsters. And with each new victory, Alarani gave the witches new subjects.

It wasn’t long before the Royal Palace on Devin was nicknamed the Palace of Nightmares. Hundreds of warriors of the light as well as innocent people were brought to the depths of its dungeons. The lucky died, while others were experimented on by powerful Force Witches. What crawled over the dungeons were an abomination to the Living Force. Mindless beings of life, who had no life. These things were monsters who would obey Lord Alarani without question. One of the costliest battles waged during the last Force War, was fought on Devin. Warriors of the Light were forced to fight the twisted and hollow remains of their own brothers and sisters.

When the battle was over, Lord Alarani and his followers were put to the blade for their crimes. For the first time, the world of Devin was free from the Sith Empire. Masters from the Jedi Order ventured in to the deeps of the Palace in hopes of learning its secrets. For years, the Jedi explored the depths of the Palace in vain. They were even unable to unlock Lord Alarani’s Holocron. To the Grand Council’s disappointment, it appeared that Lord Alarani took his secrets with him, when he was executed.

As the Jedi left Devin, the Royal Palace was abandoned. While other residents attempted to occupy the grand complex, in short order they all abandoned it as well. There were even plans to demolish the palace. However, the ruling government that sought the destruction of the Palace was soon over thrown during a coup. It wasn’t long before rumors started to circulate that the place was haunted by dark spirits. For decades after the fall of the Sith Empire, the palace was left alone to crumble.

Nearly two hundred years ago, the Chaclo family gained power over Devin and ruled as monarchs. They moved in to the Palace and refused to be frightened away. Over twenty years ago, a young courageous Jedi Knight named Sinya Veil arrived on world. While her official mission to Devin has been lost to history, what wasn’t was the love affair that started between Prince Jonathon Chaclo IV and this young Knight. Years later, Master Veil returned to Devin to accept Jonathon’s hand in marriage.

Because she was unable to have children of her own, Master Veil choose to adopt three children from across Devin. The oldest being a young girl from a war-torn settlement by the name of Lysire. Master Veil and King Chaclo sought to return power to the people in a series of changes to the government. The result was far from what the Chaclo House had hoped for. It didn’t take long for corrupt lobbyist to gain a strangle hold of the newly formed Devin Parliament. The end of House Chaclo came at the tip of a lightsaber.

With the death of Master Veil-Chaclo on Olivan, Graff and his invasion ended Devin’s parliament and most of the House Chaclo. What had become known as the Night of Purges, or Night of Slaughter (depending on which history you subscribe to), Graff and his assassins moved on Government officials. In one night, over three hundred men and women lost their lives. Thought rumors have put that number six to seven times higher. By the time the Devin Guard managed to make it back from Olivan, Graff and his forces had the world well in control. The Guard had little choice than to accept the defeat of their world.

Deep within the Royal Palace of Devin, Frija Daal paced across a balcony which overlooked the grand ball room. Her anger was at the verge of boiling over. Last night, Lysire and her arrogant boyfriend attempted to breach the Royal Palace. The pair would have been successful if not for the quick thinking of a special guest to the Palace. Frija hated to admit that she owed the safety of Prince Miko to a young noble from Naboo. A grin crossed her face as she recalled dealing a nasty blow to that arrogant man.

Then came the second shoe to fall. Frija knew that Unna and her friends were on world. At the time, she didn’t suspect that the group would have been working together. However, only minutes after they had driven Biggs and Lysire from the Palace, Unna informed her that they would not be accepting her invitation to the Palace. While that wasn’t a smoking gun of collusion, techs from the Palace were able to pick up several communications starting in the early mornings. They couldn’t decrypt what the communications said, but that was enough for Frija to realize that the two groups were in fact working together.

Frija turned as she rested her hands on the railing. She gazed down at her only wild card. Far below were a group of nobles from Naboo. Frija didn’t care about the most of them. Only one held value to her. The sister of Duncan and Jaden Starchaser. At first, Frija had suspected that Unna and her people had come for the sister. Now, she knows that this is an attempt by the Jedi to usurp power and assassinate Graff. It is the only reason why both the Jedi and the Chancellor would send their very best to this world.

Behind her, she heard footsteps approaching. Frija turned to see Streen, the head of Palace Security and Gato, the head of Graff’s personal security detail, walking towards her. She could hear Streen speaking.

“I wonder, if I were to put you in a sandbox. Would you know what to do,” Streen asked.

He had bumped heads with Gato, since the day they had taken over. Streen was a holdover from the original Chaclo Family Guard. While Prince Miko was their ‘guest’ they could trust Streen to keep the palace safe. But that didn’t mean he would play nice with others.

Gato didn’t look at him as she spoke, “si por supuesto. Te mato y entierro tu cuerpo sin vida...”

Frija smiled at the pair as they walked up, “Streen, how has your men been at tracking down Lysire and her crew?”

Streen eyes narrowed, “You promised me an update on Miko.”

“As I have said, we moved him to a secure location off world. The Prince will be protected. That is, unless he has lost his value in maintaining the loyalty of the Palace Guard,” Frija said then stepped forward. “Tell me Captain, shall I inform The Prophet that his Palace Guard is no longer loyal?”

Streen moved back slightly, “no, that won’t be necessary. We believe that their ship is somewhere north of the city. There is a large degree of traffic between Saar’s group and Chaanu’s group which has made tracking the two groups very effective.”

Frija smiled, “see now, Captain. That is good news. Prince Miko is well. His wound was minor and the medical staff reports that he will recover.” She paused a moment then asked, “have we had any luck in cracking their communication networks?”

Streen shook his head, “no My Lady. We have not.”

She nodded, “thank you Captain. You are dismissed.” He nodded and turned to walk away. On that, Frija turned to Gato. “Any word, from your scout?”

Gato half turned as she walked Streen walk away. Frija could see the nasty wounds across her face from Gadeon’s Force light attack. She turned her attention back to Frija, “mi explorador fue asesinado.”

Frija nodded, “can you tell me what you do know?”

“Los tontos me contactaron y me informaron tanto. Les dije que los mataríamos a todos,” Gato said coldly.

“No Gato,” Frija said as she turned and gazed down the at the grand ball room. “We can’t afford to battle both factions. We need to pit them against each other so to soften them up.” Frija fell silent and watched the group of nobles mingle. “I have a special mission for you and your people Gato,” Frija said. She turned to Gato, “I need you to make sure that these two groups are at odds with each other. Bring them chaos. Buy the Lord of Darkness time to return.”

Gato nodded and walked away, as Frija pulled out her communicator. She dialed in a commlink and waited. Within seconds an image of Jenna appeared in her hand, “My Lady.”

Jenna nodded, “I see from your reports that sending you and Gato back early was the will of the Lord of Darkness.”

Frija nodded, “yes, My Lady.”

Jenna drew in a deep breath, “tell me. What do you know so far?”

“My Lady,” Frija said, “we know that Biggs Saar and his party are working with Unna Chaanu’s group.”

Jenna sighed heavily, “so the snakes have slithered together. As it was foretold by the Lord of Darkness. Everything is falling in to place.”

Frija nodded, “yes My Lady. One of Gato’s scouts could confirm where Unna’s group is. We are still searching for Biggs’ ship.”

Jenna waved a hand, “the location of their ships is unimportant. What is important is what is to come. Order your people back. Let them question our silence.” Jenna smiled, “it is time for The Prophet to face off with the Light.”

Frija nodded, “as you wish. However, we have a wild card.”

Jenna smiled, “do tell.”

“Kira Starchaser,” Frija said softly. “Younger sister of Duncan and Jaden Starchaser. I summoned her to the Palace after the events in the Market Place. We have had many very enlightening talks. She is a true believer and is eager to meet The Prophet.”

“excellent work,” Jenna said as her smile grew. “Keep her close and well protected. I expect to see her once we arrive in system. I will make sure that she was well rewarded for her support to the cause.”

“Yes, My Lady.” Frija said as she slowly bowed. “As always, my life for the Lord of Darkness.”

Jenna nodded, “my life for the Lord of Darkness.”

On that, the commlink went dead. Frija put the device back in her pocket and moved towards the grand ball room. She slowly walked down the stairs and through the crowd that had gathered to welcome The Prophet home. Frija walked up to a group of young nobles as she spoke, “Kira Starchaser.”

A tall lovely blond turned, “My Lady Frija,”

“I have spoken with Lady Jenna,” Frija said with a smile. “The Prophet is most impressed with your actions last night.”

Frija paused to allow Kira to speak. “Lady Frija, please. All I did was pull a fire alarm.”

“An action which alerted the entire Palace to a crisis,” Frija reached up and rested a hand on Kira’s shoulder. “Because of your actions, Prince Miko is safe from those terrorists. And because of this, The Prophet sends his personal invitation to greet him upon his arrival.”

Kira’s entire face turned red as she attempted to control herself. “Tha…..thank you, My Lady.”

Frija nodded, “make sure you are at the south pad no later than twelve thirty.”

Kira’s body was shaking, “ye….yes My Lady….”

Frija smiled and turned to walk away. She didn’t get twenty paces before she heard Kira scream out in excitement. Frija half turned to see the group bouncing and showing all kinds of excitement. Frija turned to see a robbed member of the church moving to the loud group. She raised her hand and waved him off. Frija walked from the ball room knowing in her heart that the work of the Lord of Darkness had been done.

CNN News Report: New Year Fete! - Akirapryde - 07-30-2017

CNN News Report: New Year Fete!
Coruscant News Network
Broadcast from Coruscant
Date: 2920 AOK

Bail: “Good evening to all the citizens of the Galactic Republic. I am Bail Organa.”

Sinya: “And I am Sinya Lefe. With only weeks remaining till official beginning of New Year Fete Week, Coruscant is alive with anticipation. The entire world has truly outdone themselves this year.”

Bail: “I truly believe that this New Year Fete Week will be one of the best the Republic has seen in over a thousand years. Chancellor Syrdash has pulled all the stops in making this year a year to remember. She has brought in hundreds of professional entertainers from across the Republic and beyond.”

Sinya: “Yes, the Chancellor has gone to great lengths to forget about the crisis she faces in the Senate.”

Bail: (laughing) “I knew you couldn’t help yourself from bringing up the lies that has been spread by her critics.”

Sinya: “These aren’t lies. Just last week she faced another Vote of No Confidence. That’s three since she took the Chancellorship from the late Chancellor Tirrel.”

Bail: “Okay fine, I will give you your soap box. But once we are done, we are going back to speaking about the upcoming Fete Week celebration.” Pauses, “yes she has faced three Votes of No Confidence. The most recent one was raised by the senators from Mon Calamari. Unlike the past two votes where Chancellor Syrdash’s critics could squeak by a forty percent failure. The Mon Calamari’s vote failed with less than thirty percent.” Pauses once more, “Sinya, the Chancellor faced vote after vote, and won. She answered the call from her critics and held early elections even though there was no requirement for her to do so. And you know what Sinya, she won handedly. Each time her critics try to unseat her they fail more brilliantly than the time before.”

Sinya: “Bail, please listen to the facts. Right after she took office, over two years ago, the Vice Chair approved a measure by the Senate to investigate the Chancellor regarding the murders of the Tirrel family on their homeworld.”

Bail: more laughter “Ra Cuth! HA… He launched two separate independent investigations in to the Chancellor. First the death of the Tirrel family. Yes, it was a tragedy. Thirty-nine family members all poisoned over one night. But the Tirrel family had many enemies. None of whom had been Chancellor Syrdash. The independent investigators found no link between the Tirrel family massacre and the Chancellor. The case was closed. Then you had once more Ra Cuth showing his true ambitious nature call for an independent investigation in to the murder of Chancellor Syrdash. Once more the case was closed because there was no link.”

Sinya: “No link doesn’t mean she wasn’t involved.”

Bail: “Actually Sinya, that is what it means.” Paused for a moment, “Sinya, you are a bright young reporter with a promising future. But you must stop feeding these lies and dragging up all this fake news. Think of what our Chancellor has done in the past two years. She has driven down unemployment across the Mid-Rim and Inner Rim. She has fought corruption in the Senate….”

Sinya: “Yes, let us talk about the corruption in the Senate. As you know Bail, we were informed only this morning that….”

Bail: “Sinya, don’t do it….”

Sinya: “No Bail, the people have a right to know. For the past two days, the Ministry of Internal Security has been arresting members of the Senate. No warrant, no charges, just some weak excuse that they were part of a major coup.” Turning to Bail, “tell me Bail, isn’t there something wrong with that?”

Bail: sighs “Sinya, we were not supposed to release that information until the Chancellor’s announcement later tonight.”

Sinya: “No Bail, you can’t tell me that this is right. Over two hundred people have been arrested. My sources within the Senate placed these victims as aides and staffers of prominent Senators. Ordinary people, who are like you and me. They wake up and go to work. Some of them make copies while others run errands for their bosses. These are not some shadowy, back ally espionage agents. These people are mothers and fathers who, like the Tirrel family simply won’t be around tomorrow.”

Bail: Turning to her, “Sinya, that’s enough. Once more you are spreading fake news.” Turning back to the monitors and cameras. “Two hours ago, we were briefed by the Ministry of Internal Security. We were told that their agents, working side by side with the Jedi arrested many staffers whom were thought to be linked to a possible coup attempt against the Chancellor. While reports differ, the estimates place those arrested around two hundred. At that same briefing, we were told by a member of the High Council, that the Jedi condoned this operation and were overseeing the entire thing. It is still too early to tell what is going on or what the fallout will be. But the Chancellor has set up a press conference in just over two hours from now.”

Bail: “Yesterday, the Chancellor has formed a committee to discuss the issue of Clones and if Clones have, what many are now calling for, a Right of Sentience. She announced the committee before a cheering audience. While it is unclear what rights will be afforded Clones, the Chancellor made her position clear in a statement. ‘If the Senate will not act of the issue of Clone Rights, I will.’

Bail: “More on that topic and many others after a few words from our sponsors.”

Wolves at The Gates - Akirapryde - 08-07-2017

Wolves at The Gates
OPA 5th Army
Outer Rim World of Kel Al Shamor
Sertar sector
Date: 2920 AOK (Three Weeks before New Year Fate)

The Outerrim Planets Alliance’s Fifth Army is one of the first officially formed units within the OPA. It was unofficially formed during the heroic defense of Olivan, and later during that same campaign it was officially named, Olivan’s Finest. The Fifth Army is formed up from nearly a hundred thousand freed clone loyalists. The unit was reinforced with over a hundred thousand droids after the Olivan Campaign. Currently the unit has over two hundred thousand droids and over a hundred thousand clone loyalists. This has made the 5th Army one of the largest OPA units.

While the unit wet its sword on Olivan against the Jedi and the Republic. They earned fame and experience fighting the Royal Guard on Baklid VI. With further campaigns on Lorrd and Runnia, the Fifth quickly became one of the OPA’s most combat experienced units to date. Thanks to spoils of war, the 5th Army is one of few OPA units that fields Republic equipment. This has allowed the unit to have a unique insight in to the enemy. The unit might even be considered as a rival to the Republic’s own 501st Legion in terms of combat experience and equipment.

The Outer Rim World of Kel Al Shamor has always been an unimportant world. Even after the world joined the Republic some two thousand years ago, it seemed to meld in to the background of Republic affairs. Dotted by tens of thousands of islands, Kel Al Shamor is well known by locals for its vast white sandy beaches. While the world has a government and a reasonable population, the people of Kel Al Shamor felt forgotten by the Republic. For decades, a soft outcry over current issues across Kel Al Shamor have gone unheeded. That all changed the day Graff hand his forces landed on Kel Al Shamor.

For hundreds of years, the world had been a haven for pirates and outlaws. These pirates and outlaws had held the world’s population in particle slavery. From Kel Al Shamor they would launch attacks against shipping along Gordian Reach, Parlemian, and Daragon Trail trade routes. While the Republic and Jedi deployed additional forces to its massive anchorage on Sembla, this did little to curtail the pirate activity in the region.

Faced with a massive task of weeding out the large number of pirates that called Kel Al Shamor home, Graff decided to divide and conquer them. He picked three pirate leaders that appeared the best to conform to his vision. He met personally with the pirate sisters Nomi, Linba Greeta and the pirate-smuggler Philipp Sihin. Graff and his followers managed to win the loyalty of the three most influential pirates on the world. Using his new allies, he offered any pirate a clean slate in return for loyal service. Those that turned down the offer, Graff took care of them using his armed forces.

After cleaning up the world and bringing many of the pirates in to the ranks of the OPA’s navy, the locals cheered Graff as a savor. With followers of Heaven spreading across the world, Kel Al Shamor plans on hosting of the largest Temples of Heaven in the Outer Rim. The concept came from the newly recruited and follower of Heaven, Nomi Greeta, military commander over Kel Al Shamor’s militia. Within a year of being under the control of the OPA, Kel Al Shamor’s conversion to Graff religion was nearly ninety percent.

One of the OPA’s most faithful worlds is now home of one of the OPA’s most elite unit. More importantly than that, Kel Al Shamor’s faith and loyalty was rewarded with Graff’s personal visit. Thousands came out to witness the arrival of the Prophet. At the Capital City, Graff was welcomed like a returning god. Before cheering masses, Graff spoke to his followers about the future and their place within the new order. He placed emphases on the importance of Kel Al Shamor and its wonderful people.

The world’s vast stretches of beaches would be ideal for any unit to call home. Since the days Kel Al Shamor was welcomed in to the OPA, it quickly became an ideal vacation spot. Hundreds across the OPA would travel to this world and enjoy its mild days and warm temperatures. They would dream of relaxing under the sun, while sipping colorful frozen drinks. For anyone, it would be an ideal vacation spot. But not for all, for the Republic was on the move!

Trysta glanced down the beach as large plums of thick black smoke rose from several craters, “Captain Forin, get your unit moving,” Trysta screamed in to her commlink over an explosion that rocked the walker she was standing on.

The hologram nodded, “Commander, we’re trying to.” The man speaking was clearly a clone. As he looked away from the commlink, his burned barcode could easily be seen. “We are pinned down by heavy fire from enemy positions just beyond our range.” He pointed up the beach, “the Republic’s reinforcing about five hundred meters ahead of our position.”

Trysta side stepped the large Mass Driver Cannon of the All Terrain Tactical Enforcer she was standing on. She searched the area with her electrobinoculars. Numbers appeared in her sight as she scanned the area. Through the electrobinoculars she could see fifty or so Republic troopers were taking up position. They had moved some heavy weapons and were preparing to launch a counter strike. A pair of walkers were moving up to reinforce the Republic position. Trysta could see that within moments, Captain Forin and his company will be forced to withdraw. Or be destroyed.

She brought back the commlink, “Captain, I spotted your problem. And we have it under control. Keep your heads down.” She changed the channel as she turned around and saw a massive Venator resting in the water off the coast. “Utopia!” she ordered, “Fire mission” she turned back and sighted the Republic position through her electrobinoculars. She held the commlink in one hand and her electrobinoculars in the other. She spoke smoothly and calmly despite the explosions that were rocking her walker. “One Five, Two Five One by Zero Three Zero Four. One salvo!”

A massive round ripped from the Venator and flew over the battlefield and exploded just short of the Republic’s position. Trysta calculated an adjustment, “Correction, One Five, Two Five Nine by Zero Three Zero Four. One Salvo!” Once more, a single shot flew over the battlefield and landed right on top of the Republic’s position. The explosion forced the Republic troopers to dive for cover. Trysta smiled, “got you bastards!”

“Fire for effect!” she ordered in to her commlink. Within moments, all the massive turbo lasers of the Utopia opened fired. Shots flew overhead as the mightily ship continued to fire on the position. Within seconds the Republic’s position was no more. Walkers were blasted where they stood and troopers were blown high in to the air as the powerful guns laid waste to the area.

Trysta smiled as she watched it rain Republic forces. She changed channel once more, “Captain Forin, your path is clear. Get moving!”

The holographic image nodded, “yes ma’am!”

Trysta turned to see that her walker still wasn’t moving. She walked over to the gunner, who was firing at Republic positions high on the bluffs above the beach. “Why are we still holding on the beach!”

The gunner pointed to the line of walkers trying to work their way up a narrow road, “that’s the problem ma’am. We are being bottlenecked.”

Trysta scanned the road ahead of them. He was right, the entire first wave was bottlenecked as they tried to get off the beach. The walkers were making short work of the defenders, but it was just slow as they had to make the twisting climb up the road. Her eyes continued to scan the entire area as she tried to get a better grip of the overall situation.

Out in the center of the massive lagoon, were the two Acclamators and three Venators. Those five ships were about half of her entire fleet. She was forced to keep the rest of her fleet out of the system till the Republic Threat was dealt with. In the water between the beach and her ships, a steady stream of troops were still making their way towards the beach. With all her troops ressed in Republic Armor and used Republic equipment, she counted on confusion. It was all part of her plan to gain surprise, and it worked for the most part. Because of the confusion, she was able to land her troop ships within the shield footprint of the Republic Base.

She scanned the battlefield. Enemy fire was as intense as she expected it to be. She was counting on her own air wings to keep the Republic fighters tied up long enough for her to get her unit up to the base. She turned and saw that another wave of her forces was just hitting the beach. Once more she scanned the beach. Her initial landings had set off the alarms. But was too late for the Republic defenders. Her ships were already within their shields. But now she had to get off this damned beach. She had to think quickly.

Across the beach, the high bluffs limited her unit’s ability to move. The base set atop of a massive ridge line. The only up to the base were a series of narrow winding roads. She had planned on using seven of these roads to reach the base. Once up on the bluffs, taking over the Republic base would be easy. But now those roads were turning out to be a death trap for her units. She thought carefully as she scanned the area, “there has to be another way!” she said.

Then it dawned on her. She rushed over to the front of the walker and stomped on the window. She pointed to the bluff, “We climb! Set your walker for the task!”

The pilot in his Republic armor looked up, once and realized what she was saying he nodded. “Yes Ma’am!”

“Let’s go!” she ordered!

The walker started to move for the bluff as she brought up her commlink. She set for wide net broadcast, “all walkers still on the beach, follow my walker. We are climbing up the walls of the Bluff.” She said as she rushed back to the Mass-Driver Cannon. She kneeled next to the gunner and directed his fire. “Give me smoke along that ridge line,” she ordered. The gunner nodded.

She brought up her commlink once more, “Utopia, we are climbing up the face of the bluff. We will need cover. Have your gunners search for my smoke. Once you have range, fire for effect.” She held on as the walker continued to move for the wall. “I want you to keep those Republic soldiers away from the edge of the cliff.

Trysta’s command walker reached the base of the bluff first as several walkers were following. It slowly started to move up the face of the bluff. Trysta was forced to move to the front of the walker as it started to go vertical. Overhead, massive rounds of the Utopia landed at the top of the bluff. Within minutes, Trysta’s unit was in motion once more. With heavy cover fire, the ascension was going much better than she expected. She saw the Republic attempting to regroup along one of the ridge line further down the beach. She brought her commlink up, “Kraken, get your heads out of your collective asses. Saber Beach needs fire support!”

“Yes Ma’am, we see them. Getting ready to fire.”

As the furthest of her Venators started to level supportive fire, Trysta turned to see a Republic trooper attempting to line up a shot on her gunner. Drawing upon the Force, she leaped outward drawing her sword. She let out a scream as she struggled to pull off the maneuver. Her blade contacted with the blaster bolt causing it to deflect harmlessly away from her gunner. She landed back on the walker at the Mass-Driver Cannon caused the entire ground where the trooper was lying to erupt in to a large column of smoke.

Trysta looked at the gunner, who nodded his thanks. She turned to face the threat above her as she tried to catch her breath, “Graff and Jenna make it look so easy.”

Trysta’s keen ears picked up the sound before anyone else noticed. She turned to see three ARC-170 starfighters making a wide turn as they cleared the massive walls of the bluff. Trysta brought her commlink up once more, “Antioch, we need cover fire!” Trysta called on her last remaining Venator. Trysta searched the skies in hopes of seeing any of her own fighters. Her heart sank as she realized they were alone. Her eyes fell upon the incoming fighters as if she could will the pilots to turn and leave her unit alone. “Antioch!”

It was too late; the fast-moving fighters were lining up and flew over her walker. Behind the fighters, three lone streams of flares drifted down to the ground. A massive holographic image of Graff formed over the battlefield, “cease fire, all units cease fire…”

From high above, a hover platform drifted down to Trysta’s walker. Within the platform Graff stood next to a tactical droid. Soldiers lined the edge of the platform. One of them informed the group that the range was now clear. Graff turned to Trysta, “secure your unit,” he said and motioned her to join him on the platform.

Trysta nodded as she returned her blades to her back. She drew upon the force once more as she leaped across the space between the two. She landed next to the droid and slowly rose to her feet. She brought her commlink up, “all commands, return to the ships. Unit commander, be ready for an After Action in three hours. Everyone else is to clean up their gear and make whatever repairs that need to be made. We are doing this again in the morning.”

Trysta then turned to Graff, but the droid spoke, “you have attempted to take this mock base nine times. And nine times you have failed.”

The platform flew over the Republic Positions as the Commando Droids started to remove their Republic helmets. Graff watched the training range as the droids started to clean up the mess. “Trysta, you have to learn to think outside of the box. The 501st is one of the best units the Republic has. If you are to beat them, you have to think like them.”

Trysta shot a glare at the Droid as she spoke to Graff, “Sir, with all due respect. If I can land my full force, I could have overrun and taken the base the first time.”

Graff shook his head, “no, you can’t use droids on this mission. You have to use your clones.”

“Your droids will be detected by Republic scanners and they will know you are not one of their units,” the tactical droid said.

“But Sir,” Trysta said speaking only to Graff, “we are outnumbered five to one. Once we lose surprise, it’s over. We can’t take the base without the use of the droids.”

The Tactical Droid spoke up again, “I could have taken the base with half the forces.”

Trysta started to draw her sword out of a desire to slay the droid. But Graff’s words stopped her in her tracks, “Trysta will lead this mission. And we will make sure that she is successful.” He turned to Trysta, “Trysta, taking on this mission is no easy thing. We will be driving a dagger in to the heart of the Republic’s influence in the Outer Rim. Allies and enemies alike will take notice of this mission. This must be you. We must show our followers that this is more than just my war. It’s our war. And everyone is needed if we are to win.”

His words filled her with pride as she listened. She felt her confidence rise. He turned and looked at her as he rested a hand on her shoulder, “Trysta, I know you can do this. Go back to your ship and watch the battle. Search for when you lost surprise and find a way to make it last longer.”

Night of Chaos - Akirapryde - 08-31-2017

Night of Chaos
Coruscant News Network Building
Federal District
Coruscant
Date: 2920 AOK (One Weeks before New Year Fate)

Across the entire Republic as well as on the 'Castaway's Hope and on the Falcon’s Crest (which are mere hours from Iktotch), normal Republic broadcasting was suddenly interrupted. Entire airwaves across the Republic went black all at once. Within seconds the broadcast waves displayed a technical difficulty message. Than without warning the image went live to CNN’s main News Room. However, the twin desk, where well known Bail Organa and his Twi’lek sidekick Sinya Lefe would normally sit was empty.

“I got the uplink,” A female voice off camera yelled. “We’re live across the Republic!”

Another voice, “Sinya! Go!”

Pounding on a door in the distances could be heard as Sinya rushed over to the desk, “Good Evening, I am Sinya Lefe, bringing you an important announcement!” She looked to the source of the pounding, there was genuine fear on her face as she turned back to the camera. “In violation of the Galactic Constitution, the Security Council has ordered all media and communication traffic across Coruscant shut down.”

She rifled through here papers. It was clear that they were hastily put together. “I will have to be hurried as station security is attempting to shut us down. We are greatly pressed for time. The entire Federal District has been placed under a strict black out by order of the Coruscant Defense Force.”

“For those that weren’t following, allow me to recap what happened that led us here.”

She paused a moment before continuing, “Two days ago, the OPA’s 5th Army conducted combat drops on the independent world of Fray. During the first hours of combat, they overran the world’s weak militia units, seizing the capital city of Baku. Despite being thrown out of their capital, fighting remains intense. Representatives of Fray made an official request to the Jedi for military assistance.”

“As we have already reported earlier this week, the OPA had accused the Jedi of arming a Jedi friendly faction on Fray. This came to light when it was discovered that arms and supplies were being shipped to the world in secret, via a smuggler. This story broke when an OPA warship stopped a Republic civilian transport and searched it. They discovered weapons and other war materials bound for the independent world. Hours later after a failed attempt by the OPA to neutralize the weapons, General Graff, leader of the OPA’s military, ordered the 5th Army to seize the weapons.”

“In response, the Jedi 10th Striker Division, under the command of Jedi Master Horm Darillian, moved his force to Fray. Currently, it is still unclear if Jedi Master Darillian, who is a Fray native and member of the High Council, was acting under orders of the High Council or not. The two mammoth units have been locked in a heated battle over the control of Fray’s northern fuel fields.”

“The this battle raged, back on Coruscant, Senators Tal Merrrick and Finis Valorum co-authored a bill called, The Defense of Fray Military Act. The bill would dispatch six divisions and dozens of warships to Fray in support of the Jedi’s 10th Striker Division. The bill barely passed the Senate, but died five hours ago Chancellor Syrdash vetoed it.”

A female voice could be heard saying behind Sinya’s report, “their trying to cut our transmission!”

“Can you block them,” a man asked.

“Yes, I think I can,” she said as Sinya turned to the voices.

Sinya pleaded, “Ale’ea, I need you to keep us online.”

She turned back to the camera, with a renewed sense of urgency. “The Chancellor cited her veto on the grounds of not wanting to ignite the entire outer rim in to open warfare. She insisted that the Republic nor the Jedi were behind the secret weapons build up on Fray. Instead of provoking the OPA with a bill that would have been seen a further provocation, she wanted to press for a diplomatic resolution to the crisis. The Chancellor gave one of her most moving speeches to date pleading the Senate to not allow this crisi to explode in to warfare that would engulf dozens if not hundreds of worlds.”

“Led by Senator Valorum and a coalition from across the Senate, they attempted a Vote of No Confidence. However, the vote fell far short of a majority. Senator Valorum then turned to the Security Council claiming that the Chancellor was no longer fit to defend the Republic against its enemies. Nearly an hour later and to everyone’s surprise, word leaked out that General Order 65 had been issued by the Security Council. Currently, we have no confirmation that this information is accurate.”

“Order 65 stated that if a majority of the Senate or the Security Council declared that the Supreme Chancellor is unfit for duty, the Chancellor was to be captured or, if necessary, killed. Wait, can we get the actual language of the order up?....yes? good. Thank you…”

Quote:Order 65: In the event of either (i) a majority in the Senate declaring the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) to be unfit to issue orders, or (ii) the Security Council declaring him to be unfit to issue orders, and an authenticated order being received by the GAR, commanders shall be authorized to detain the Supreme Commander, with lethal force if necessary, and command of the GAR shall fall to the acting Chancellor until a successor is appointed or alternative authority identified as outlined in Section 6 (iv).

“As we were about to go on air regarding this drastic turn of events, armed operatives from the Senate Bureau of Intelligence arrived and ordered our transmitters to be shut down during what they called a political crisis. They presented our leadership with orders from the Senate claiming that to peacefully remove the Chancellor and her allies from power that secrecy was required. Our leadership foolishly complied with these orders, despite them being in direct violation of the Galactic Constitution.”

“Shortly after that, we witnessed the Chancellor’s personal flagship departing without its escorts. That was when we started to see open conflict across the Senate and Federal District. I have sources on the ground, that have not received confirmation that General Order 65 has in fact been issued by the Security Council. However, that fact has not stopped the fighting in sparse areas of the district. Before the Chancellor’s escorts could depart, a pair of light cruisers and a Venator Class Star Destroyer parked right over their births as they were preparing to depart. For the time being, these warships are prevent these two escorts from leaving their docks.”

“From what we can tell, the military leader of the forces that oppose the Chancellor is none other than Admiral Wilhuff Tarkin. The hero, who had ventured in to the heart of the OPA to bring back vital information regarding their plans and agenda. Shortly after his return a few weeks ago, Tarkin was promoted to Admiral and given command of the Coruscant Defense Force.”

“At the outbreak of this crisis and conflict that followed, Admiral Tarkin issued an order to all of his forces that any unnecessary force would not be tolerated. He gave his word that forces formerly loyal to the Chancellor that choose to lay down their arms would be treated fairly and with dignity.”

“Senator Valorum has become the political center in this crisis, claiming that he has formed a transitional government now that the Chancellor has been removed. I have learned from sources within the Senate that it was by Valorum’s order that all communications around Coruscant be shut down. To our surprise, these desperate hours has made for strange bedfellows. We have reports that a few individual Jedi have joined forces with Valorum and his military allies to remove the Chancellor from power. However, currently, the Jedi High Council has not made any moves to take a side.”

The pounding resumed, this time with much more force. A distant voice called out, “the door won’t hold!”

Then the sounds of heavy weapons could be heard. Sinya stood up and moved from her desk as she spoke, “can that thing follow me?”

“yeah….” The voice behind the camera replied. Within a moment the image followed her as she rushed across the sound stage towards a large window. Thick blue and red bolts could be seen reaching for the sky.

Sinya moved to a large window overlooking the Grand Coruscant Military Base.
