Taking A Ni - Akirapryde - 07-17-2017

The airspeeder come to a stop near the boarding ramp of the Falcon Crest. The sharp dressed man in the pilot's seat tilted his wide brim black hat as he spoke, "I am happy to hear you called." He activated the door to allow her to get in to the airspeeder.

In the back seat of the speeder was his tan long coat. He wore a button up blue shirt. His pants were made of denim. He wore pull on boots. His smile and blue eyes gave his rugged appearance a much softer touch. "I am glad you did."

The Zeltron regarded him with an aloof expression, arms crossed. "I'm still mad at you for not letting me escape," she told him matter-of-factly, "Have you ever been force choked before? It's no fun."

Ni stared him down pointedly for a moment before she finally sighed and and slipped into the passenger seat. "Well, I like the dress. So I'm willing to give you a second chance," the Zeltron added casually as she made herself comfortable, crossing her legs and resting her arm at the window. Her head turned toward him and her eyes scanned over his body as she waited for his response.

He smiled, "I know you are still mad at me."

He listed to her speak about being force choked and shook his head, "no, I haven't been choked like that before. However, if you hadn't of ran, you would not have been harmed."

He smiled as she slid in to the seat and motioned to the dress, "I am glad you like it." He put the vehicle in drive and sped off. "I promised you an experience like you never had before. I hope I can deliver on that promise." He turned the speeder south, "our first stop, is a mix of pleasure and work. Just before you contacted me, I was asked to help with some reports of pickpockets down at the beach."

He smiled and laughed, "yes, Baklid has a beach. Artificial mind you, but still its a great place to see."

He gazed softly at her, "so my name is Kaleb Saar." He smiled broadly, "so do I get your real name?"

The Zeltron gasped, excitement lighting her eyes, "We're going on a mission!?" Ni quickly caught herself and cleared her throat, stifling her enthusiasm and adding, "Um, I mean, what makes you think I'd be any help with petty thieves? I'm just a tourist!"

When he mentioned her name she smirked, replying coyly, "I may give it to you later, if I feel like it. But to you I am Herlah." She turned her head to the window to watch the scenery pass by. "So, Mr. Officer Saar, will you be my tour guide through these unfamiliar lands?"

RE: Taking A Ni - Akirapryde - 07-17-2017

"You don't look much like a Herlah. But if you wish, Herlah it shall be." He laughed as the air speeder sped over the large desert city of Hehran. "Oh Herlah," he said with a grin and a nod, "I am not just any officer." His laughter was deep and filled with spirit.

"I am a Sharif," he said with a smile, "in these parts." Shortly, in the distance a large lake started to take shape ahead of them. It was a beautiful lake with deep blue waters. Along the white sandy beaches, people had flocked to enjoy the prefect waters and sun.

"I would love to be your guide," he motioned to the beach, "that is Baklid Beach, created on this world just over a hundred years ago."

Ni didnt seem all too impressed that he was a sheriff, but her eyes sparkled with wonder at the new surroundings. She leaned forward to get a better view of the people that flocked there, her smile growing. The Zeltron hopped lightly in her seat and exclaimed, "Ooooo! We should go swimming!" Then she paused. "Wait, why are people at the beach this late at night? Wait, how did the sun get here??"

RE: Taking A Ni - Akirapryde - 07-17-2017

"Not impressed?" he said noting her lack of reaction to his official title. "For someone like me, being a leading lawman on a world like Baklid was not an easy task."

He motioned to a set of large panels in low orbit, "those panels redirect sun light during night time hours. It is always a beautiful day at the beach."

He smiled and nodded, "I think a dip in the water would be very much warranted." He glanced at her, "the evening is very young. A dip in the water, some dancing, even drinking are on the agenda for tonight."

RE: Taking A Ni - Gar - 07-17-2017

Ni raised her eyebrows at this. "What is so different about being a lawman on Baklid?"

RE: Taking A Ni - Akirapryde - 07-17-2017

He laughed again, "oh, its not being a lawman on Baklid. Its being a Corer and being a lawman on Baklid. In these parts, Corer are not highly received. It took me years to earn the reputation that I have."

He brought the Airspeeder down and landed it just beyond the beach. The sounds of people playing and laughing could be heard. "I got frustrated with the whole Core World politics and whatnot." He looked down, "though I reckon, I shouldn't bitch too much about it. I had everything I always wanted. I had the right name, which opened up doors that many only dreamed of. A family that paid for all the education a man could want. But in my life, I felt something missing. One day, I simply said to hell with it and walked away. I didn't even pack my bags. I hitched a ride out to the Outer Rim and wondered for a while. But I ran out of money here, on Baklid. I got picked up for some petty crime. The Sharif back them, a man named Big Redd." He smiled as he glanced at her, "The man was a huge wookie with reddish color fur. So ever one just called him Big Redd."

"Any how, so Redd got a hold of me. I thought the man was going to rip my arms off. Instead he bought me a piece of pie and asked me what I wanted to do with my life. We talked till the sun came up, and that morning, Red made me a deputy. He taught me more in those years than I ever learned back in the Core Worlds." He looked down for a moment in silence. "I never expected on the day of his death, that he had already named me to be his replacement." He looked over at her, "So yeah, for me, being a lawman here was a journey."

RE: Taking A Ni - Gar - 07-17-2017

"I cant keep up with space politics," says Ni with a shrug, "what is going on nowadays, anyway? Why do people here not like Corers?"

When the sherrif mentions his friend she cocks her head and frowns. "Redd sounds like a chill guy. I'm sorry about his death...I've experienced what it's like to lose someone important, and I can say with confidence that it's a hundred times worse than getting force choked..."

Something shiny caught the Zeltron's eye and distracted her from the solemn conversation. She gasped and pointed, crying out with delight, "Oooh!! Look!! Sand castles!" Ni popped open the passenger door and hopped onto the sand, looking over her shoulder ecstatically and motioning him to follow her, "Its been so long since I've built sand castles!!"
