Too Many Chiefs(open) - aipsylon - 07-25-2017

Gadeon went around the ship, asking anyone he really across and asking them to go to the common area.  Unna had said she'd help and the ship was small so he doubted it would take long to round then up. When everyone was present Gadeon looked to each of them. "This operation ahead of us to retrieve Owl has the potential to go very badly we need leadership of some kind for this mission and I was looking to see who we think would make a good leader." He looked to Cox first.  "I think since we are on your ship you should have the chance to speak before we go further forward."

Ni was swinging her legs in the chair as she quietly observed the meeting. She had noticed that Unna seemed a bit scraped up, the question mark clear on her face as she stared curiously. Did Cox like to play rough? He didn't seem like the dominant, throwyouupagainstthewallanddoit type. She glanced over to study him for a moment, then back to Unna. Something had happened, and Unna needed healing--that much she could understand. But she hesitated to walk up and heal her, afraid of being yelled at. She knew Unna didn't like to be touched. At least not by her.

Jaden leaned against one of the walls as he observed this meeting. He attentively listened to Gadeon's words and awaited what Cox had to say.

Duncan was seated on the sofa already with Tod's data pad on the holo table.

RE: Too Many Chiefs(open) - Unna Hi Chaanu - 07-25-2017

Unna sat next to Cox. Exhausted and in pain from her injuries, she leaned upon him. Her arm crossed over her chest, pressing a wound on her opposite shoulder. She winced in pain as she turned to look at him. "I believe you can do this," Unna said with a tired voice. "You have demonstrated to me that you will tolerate no nonsense and I strongly feel that you are the type of leader we need."

I hope he doesn't cry... Unna thought to herself.

RE: Too Many Chiefs(open) - Jonash Solo - 07-25-2017

Cox dries his sweaty hands off on his pants, loosens his collar, turns his head to the side for a moment and gulps. "I know this next mission is critically important and gravely dangerous." As he speaks, his voice becomes clearer and more relaxed. "My ability to contribute in a combat or military capacity is minimal. I can contribute meaningfully in a leadership capacity, if all of you would give me the opportunity to do so."

Cox looks from crew member to crew member. His voice grows with passion as he continues, "My primary goal would be to earn the respect and loyalty of every member of the crew. On that note, I want to apologize to each of you for putting your lives at risk with my hasty decisions to bomb the steakhouse's kitchen and nearly leave you behind to get Owl myself. I was not thinking of any of your best interests. Regardless of the decision today, I will not do that again."

"My second goal would be to be a best friend to each crew member. Each of you should feel comfortable bringing any issues you have to me, regardless of their nature, and know that you will be heard. Good friendships lead to quick, open communication and helps to avoid careless mistakes. Also, I will need input from each and every one of you to lead effectively."

"My final goal would be to push each of you to your limits. I see a lot of potential in this crew. Pushing our limits will help us all reach our potentials."

"To be clear, I'm not asking to be anyone's boss and I'm not looking to be the 'decision-maker' for the missions we take or how we do them. What I am asking for is for each of you to believe that I can put my money where my mouth is and deliver on these promises. That if any of you are in a dire situation, you can count on me to help you get out of it. And, most importantly of all, that each of you wants a leader."

"Does anyone have any questions?" Cox scans the crew looking for any indication of a question.

Any of the crew that had seen Cox crying previously would think that this is a different man standing before them. He stands taller, with his back straight. His gestures seem well rehearsed and effortless. The confidence almost seems cocky and, yet, somehow humble.

Gadeon sat and watched how things would proceed from there, "I had not meant to suggest that Cox be the leader, but simply explain the boundaries of one as they related to this ship. That said I thought of him as having the skills needed for one, and his typical positioning would be suitable, and though hasty, the decision to bomb the restaurant was not a bad one when considered without hindsight.. Thinking on it it Gadeon was not sure if he had the trust, but his words were the right ones and time would tell if they were true. To him it did not matter who it was they followed as long as they had one, good leader. He had hoped things would be a discussion, but as long as everyone fell in perhaps he would simply be a natural leader. The place his eyes fell were upon Duncan, the one that had led them due to his rank previously, he did not feel the man had done a bad job, and felt he deserved to speak on something as well. "Duncan, I feel you should have your piece to say next."

RE: Too Many Chiefs(open) - Gar - 07-25-2017

All that blood... The Zeltron couldnt take it anymore. Ni tried to casually, unobtrusively get up and make her way across the room, awkwardly and painfully attempting to not make it look obvious that she was headed toward Unna. When she reached Unna she subtly, or at least subtle in her mind, cleared her throat and muttered nervously, "Uh, um, you have, uh, something, uh, here, lemme get that for you..." reaching her hand out nervously to touch Unna's shoulder and channel the Force. Then she tip toed back to her seat.

When Cox stood up to accept his position as leader the Zeltron's eyes widened and her head snapped toward Gadeon's direction. Seeing that he was not troubled by this, Ni calmed down a bit and tried to slow her breathing. However, now that it was Duncans turn, she looked at him with a silent, pleading, hopeful expression.

RE: Too Many Chiefs(open) - Jaden_Starchaser - 07-25-2017

Jaden saw the small exchange between Ni and Unna and then noticed Ni was breathing rather rapidly. He made his way over to her quietly and put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

RE: Too Many Chiefs(open) - Gar - 07-25-2017

Ni wasnt sure what Jaden was comforting her for, but she did like being touched, and it gave her the courage to speak now. "Um, hey, Gaddy? May I say something really quick?"
