Can you imagine? - aipsylon - 08-28-2017 Gadeon spent much of the trip on the way back from Avalon considering much the same as he had on the way there. It was a big decision for him too make. While motivated in worry and fear, the thoughts that Ni and Ashla had raised a number of valid concerns. He was happy too have heard that Una supported the decision. The truth was even as he approached the steps of the temple, he had not made his decision. He was dressed in a new set of Jedi robes as he waited to be admitted to the council chambers. Walking in he liked around the room and waited for those gathered to speak out of respect for the council. RE: Can you imagine? - Akirapryde - 08-28-2017 The large chamber was filled with members of the High Council. In this chamber there was no chair set above or decorated more elaborate than the others. This was by order of Grandmaster Dooku. It was his intention that in this chamber of Masters there would be only equals. On the floor was a great tapestry displaying the extended history of the Jedi Order working in a spiral fashion. Even like the chairs this symbolized the base of what the Jedi have always been about. Ever the scholar Grandmaster Dooku took pride in the way this chamber gave its appearances to people who came before them. For him it was the symbolism of what the Jedi were meant to be. As Gadeon walked in to the chamber the first person across from him was Grandmaster Dooku. To his left and in attendance by hologram, Master Wendu. As Gadeon scanned the room, he noticed that more than three quarters of the High Council were off world. Grandmaster Dooku rose from his chair, "Almost ten years ago, as I set on this Council a young and promising Master stood before many of us. She carried ideals and concepts that challenged the very way we look at who we are. Instead of listening to these ideas, we, I, scoffed at them." He pointed to a chair occupied by a Twi' let Master. "I set right there and led the attack against that brave woman. Her petition was met with condemnation." He drew in a deep breath, "it was a mistake I have long regretted. It was a mistake which has led us here. A Order divided among its self. Our vision clouded by the darkside, and enemies lurk at our very gates." He paused a moment as he considered his next thoughts, "our enemies are unified and driven. It is time for us to make amends and heal our Order. For this is our only hope of defeating the Darkside." He motioned to Gadeon, "this is the former Padawan of that brave Master. Let our first step be, accepting him among our ranks." He fell silent as the chamber echoed Gadeon's acceptance. Dooku's gaze fell upon Gadeon, "do you accept a place among us?" RE: Can you imagine? - aipsylon - 08-28-2017 Gadeon had not expected that when he walked into the chamber. What was said seemed too good to be true, still he had expected certain members of the council to be resistant. He nodded though as he liked around the council chambers. "I do. I am glad this was the direction that the council wishes to move forward with. Given that I should like permission to begin visiting the schismatic temples in an effort to help the process of healing the divides within the order." RE: Can you imagine? - Akirapryde - 08-28-2017 Master Dooku motioned for Gadeon to take the only empty chair in the chamber. He then turned and returned to his chair. He remained silent before taking his seat, "it is a mission that all of us are currently under way with," he spoke cleanly. "Yes, you may." He waved a hand, "but before that takes place, the issue of our blindness should be addressed. It has been suggested that we keep this weakness to ourselves less we wish to see our enemies grow. I however feel that regardless of what we say, our enemies will grow. Withholding the truth from the Senate would only serve the Darkside." He motioned to Gadeon, "what is the thoughts of our newest member?" RE: Can you imagine? - aipsylon - 08-28-2017 "There is no need too make it an announcement, but concealing this will only help the dark side to grow. In this there is no need for deception. If asked be open that it was a mistake too behave as we did in the current climate, but also show that without being forced the council examined what it was that caused the division and showed that we are stronger together. That the ways of unity and compromise have long been something shared by both the Republic and the Jedi." RE: Can you imagine? - Akirapryde - 08-28-2017 Master Conlowy, a Rodian Master shifted as his hologram flickered, "I am a bit confused. Is your advice regarding our united sight to not Report to the Senate unless we are asked?" Master Dooku raised his hand, "hold please" the motion cut off other questions. "Please allow our new member an opportunity to answer this question before the rest ask him others." RE: Can you imagine? - aipsylon - 08-28-2017 "It is. Such a course of action will be known in short order, but once underway will have reason not to stop should any raise objection to a course of action. It will also spare the council from alienating any allies that would take offense to their advice being ignored. Any that have a solid head on their shoulders will perceive what it is we are doing, and if and when we convince the first temple to rejoin of course contracts and the official nature will make some kind of notification necessary I am sure, but until then, let it be a topic of conversation. The more one talks about something the more they think about it, I do not think it should do the republic any harm should people think about such matters as this, doubly so if we are successful." Gadeon took the open seat, surprised how comfortable the simple seat was for the purposes of conversation. RE: Can you imagine? - Akirapryde - 08-29-2017 "It would appear that our newest member driven goal is worn on his sleeve," stated Master Wendu. Master Dooku nodded as he picked up where Wendu left off, "we can see what you consider important. And you are right, it is important. However this is a course of action that has already been resolved." He paused a moment gathering his thoughts. "The Council is divided and we are edger to hear your opinion on this matter. Some of the council feels that it is our duty to inform the Senate, or more specifically the Security Council, of our diminished ability to look towards the future." Master Dooku picked up, "in making such a report the enemies of the Jedi within the Senate would grow. We do not need to further complicate our problems." Once more Dooku spoke, "Master Gadeon, what do you feel about this issue." RE: Can you imagine? - aipsylon - 08-29-2017 "Perhaps some information, I was not aware of a diminished ability too see the future." He waited looking to each as he had been away their group having little trouble seeing what they had sought. RE: Can you imagine? - Akirapryde - 08-29-2017 Master Dooku leaned forward on his chair as he rested a hand on his knee, "it started about a year ago. Our ability to peer in to the future started to get more and more clouded. Now, we lack this critical ability. It is not just us," he said as other masters have nodded, "we have spoken with former members as well as those who have walked across the lines. Their ability to see in to the future has always been diminished to nothing." Master Horm Darillian, a human speaking from a hologram, "I mean no disrespect, Grand Master, but this issue was settled over a week ago." He said softly but with some frustration in his voice. "This Council has decided by vote that we will not be telling the Senate about this issue." Master Dooku turned to face the hologram, "the Council had voted, but a seat was vacant. A new voice might shed new light upon this situation. We owe it to our newest member to have his voice heard." Master Wendu nodded, "while I stand by my position regarding not telling the Senate, I agree we owe it to Master Halvran to listen to what opinion he might have on this topic." Master Dooku motioned back to Gadeon as he leaned back in his chair once more. "Master Halvran, you have our ears." |
