OOC Shorts [GM] (Closed) - rythmicjea - 06-27-2021 TheTraveler — 04/06/2021 The following posts are for the players pure enjoyment. Nothing in this threat is character knowledge unless uncovered through discovery. TheTraveler — 04/06/2021 Voices in his mind cried out as the thunderous sound of the flood consumed them. Light side, Dark side, it did not matter which side you served, the chaos had been unleashed. The Force flowed throughout the Galaxy like a chaotic flood unleashed. Only the foolish believed that they could control the flood now. Even the innocent weren’t safe. The rising waters were already threatening to wash away those who dared to wander to the edge. For General Graff, this was his world to command. He did not just dare to wander to the edge. He danced right up to the edge of oblivion. Going deeper and deeper into the Force, he could feel the chaos building. It was a great spring waiting to be unleashed in all its destructive beauty. Peering as deep as possible, he could barely make out the image of who was responsible for this beautiful destruction that even now risks the Republic’s very survival. And with their death, so go the Jedi. __ His mind focused on the threads that wove the future together, his concentration reflected in the near death like state his body took. Over his crossed legs, a small bone knife spun. Its blade was black with some sign of wear on it. The white handle had slits of dirt crusted lines that ran the length of the handle. General Graff used the small weapon as a focal point as he searched the Force. If he were to destroy the Republic and the Jedi Order, he need to find the correct shatter point. He could sense the five officers who stood waiting patiently for his meditation to come to an end. They had been waiting for nearly an hour. Clearly, they felt whatever it was, it was not worthy to risk his anger. With the sounds of his vision fading, General Graff slowly opened his eyes and rose to his feet. He towered over the five officers. “You have news for me?” The knife floated up to his waiting hand and he made it disappear behind his back. __ Admiral Nalid spoke. “Yes General.” Graff’s eyes fixated on Admiral Thi'on Nalid. It was not the normal that caused most to become unsettled. It was the General’s red cybernetic eye that caused fear in those who dared to gaze into it. The long slender older human had been a young lieutenant during Graff's last raise to power. Now the older man had matured into his own brilliant style of flag officer. Winning his loyalty from the Republic had been hardly an effort. “We have managed to intercept a communication from an Olivan Shadow Agent on Baklid.” The news caught some by surprise. But none were as surprised as Jedi turned traitor, Master Ar'Lash. The Bothan had attempted to hide his emotions, but Graff sensed them. “Is that what we are calling them now?” Master Ar’Lash mocked, “Shadow Agents.” __ General Graff smiled, “I like the name. It’s fitting for what we know of them. And you were right to bring this to me. It is a rare discovery. Have you been able to decrypt the message?” Admiral Nalid smiled. “Yes, General.” He said walking over to his General and handing him a data pad. General Graff took the data pad in to one of his large metallic hands. “There hasn’t been any reply from Olivan. We suspect that they are aware that the message was intercepted.” Graff read the message as his smile slowly changed to a grin. “The slightest flaw in the armor makes the entire ship vulnerable.” He turned the pad off. “This agent’s mistake is our benefit.” “General,” Master Ar’Lash spoke with respect. “Isn’t Olivan supposed to be our ally? I mean we did break the blockade over their world. Yet you do not trust them.” __ Graff turned to the Bothan, “I don’t trust them. This is true. I don’t suspect they have the stomach to see the destruction of the Republic to its completion.” On that he turned to the only female officer in the room. “Commadore Na’vera,” he spoke with respect. “Tell me, what of the Articles?” Na’vera stood out due to her System’s Militia Uniform from Serenno. Back home, she was a Flag Officer of resounding respect. It did not take Na’vera long to join the General after she learned of his crushing defeat of the Republic forces over Olivan. “Hundreds of worlds have signed the Outer Systems Alliance Articles, with thousands now reaching out to us.” She smiled with pride. “The Outer Systems Alliance is slowly becoming threat that the Republic will have to face.” “Have you been able to uncover why Serenno has is suddenly interested Baklid’s politics?” asked Admiral Nalid. __ She shook her head. “All I know is that it deeply personal with the family of the late Lord Serenno. They have demanded extradition of Baklid’s Queen.” Admiral Tabanne finally spoke up, “Commadore, will you be able to deliver on your promise of ships?” She nodded. “I have personally spoke with a half dozen captains.” She turned to General Graff, “give the word and they will be yours, General.” “Wonderful, a handful of patrol crafts.” Master Ar’Lash criticized sarcastically. “Long before you were born Jedi Master,” General Graff said coldly, “I took a force of a patrol craft and crippled the pride of the Mandalorian Fleets.” Na’vera made no attempt to hide her grin. Graff’s eyes focused on the Jedi Master. “Then I took that same force and broke the backs of the war worshipping Mandalorians. I personally delivered their prized Darksaber to the Grand Master of the Jedi.” He smiled. “Commadore, tell the Jedi Master what kind of ships Serenno fields.” __ Commadore Na’vera gave a nod. “With pleasure, General. Serenno fields front line Republic warships. With their flagship being a Venator class Star Destroyer.” She smirked, “And that is one of the ships that have secretly sworn fidelity to General Graff.” “Master Jedi,” Graff said softly, “you should have faith in the Force to deliver the destruction of the Republic.” He then turned to final man in the room. “Jek,” he said addressing the man, “it’s time to take our offer to Mal Doran.” Without saying a word, the Mandalorian bowed his head. On that, he turned and walked out of the room. Graff turned to his three officers. “How long will it take to reassemble the fleet?” Admiral Nalid pulled up his data pad and tapped some figures into it. After a moment, he spoke. “Assuming that we will not have any surprises from Jedi Forces in the area, three to four days.” __ Graff nodded. “Give the order to reassemble. At the same time, I want all ships fully loaded. Run them through drills as we wait for the fleet to assemble.” “We are going into battle, General?” Master Ar’Lash blinked in surprise. “You had said that we needed to wait for more ships to join us.” Admiral Nalid smiled. “It’s obvious.” She says, glancing at General Graff. “I found the key to destroying the Republic.” General Graff said in a level and cold tone. “You are going after the Shadow Agent?” Master Ar’Lash said with disbelief in his voice. General Graff only smiled as Admiral Nalid spoke up. “Fame and Fortunes favor the bold Master Jedi.” RE: OOC Shorts [GM] (Closed) - rythmicjea - 06-27-2021 TheTraveler — 04/09/2021 (OOC: The following posts are Character Knowledge as part of a News Broadcast) CNN Broadcast A nicely dressed reporter sitting behind the large CNN Desk spoke softly, “And wouldn't you know it, we have the latest developments all the way from Baklid.” Her male counterpart nodded, “I am told we have a new news conference regarding their Central Government.” His speech as prefect and his smile never faded, “lets see what is going on.” The prerecorded event plays… __ A crowd of reporters has gathered in an official government briefing room. The Seal of Baklid proudly displayed on the Lectern. The buzz of Holocorders and soft chatter fill the large room. Along the from wall stood tall men in bright sharp Baklid Uniforms. On either side of the door, a pair of sharply dressed Jedi stood. Their faces, like the soldiers, were emotionless. There was a sense of anxiety that hung over the room. The door opened and out stepped a female Kel Dor Jedi and a plain clothes security man. The pair took up places on either side of the lectern as a third man in a sharp suit followed them. He walked up to the Lectern and set his datapad down on it as he drew in a deep breath. Focusing his attention on the reporters before him, he started. “The past twenty-four hours has been something of a crazy pod race,” There was a hint of an uneasy laughter from the room. “However, we have emerged from the darkness of chaos and entered in to new, brighter future for all the wonderful people of Baklid.” He paused a moment before continuing. __ “The day before yesterday, during a special joint session of Baklid’s Parliament, our Queen Lenora Delphinium faced a crushing popular uprising among Ministers from across the political spectrum. In a landslide vote of no confidence, the Queen has been deemed unfit to Rule. Sadly, our Constitution has no provisions for such a situation. However, with gratitude for the Republic and the Jedi, a peaceful transfer of power has been negotiated between the parties.” The hum of whispers grew across the audience as a few started throwing their questions. He held up his hand, “Please,” he urged. “At the highest levels of the Baklid Government, our Republic Representation from Serreno, and among the Jedi, we have been working diligently to resolve this Constitutional Crisis that the Queen has created. As of nine hours ago, and after a special session of the Republic Senate, the Republic Senate voted in favor of the plan created by our Honorable Senator from Serreno. This plan has the personal backing of the Chancellor herself as well as the Jedi High Council. Not to mention this plan has been endorsed by the Jedi Council of Serreno and as well by the outgoing Queen Lenora.” __ “Who will lead…..” a reporter cried out. The man only nodded as he held up his hand a second time, “All parties involved have agreed that Retired General Walibra Reebil will become Baklid’s first Prime Minister….” …. He drew in a deep breath, “Now, this is a power sharing plan. The Queen will remain in her current position while the courts decide her fate. All the powers that are afforded to the Royal Family will now be passed on to the Parliament. The Prime Minister will oversee all day-to-day operations that would normally be dealt with by the Royal Family. The Queen will maintain command of her Palace Guard, though the unit will be removed from the active military roles.” “All other military units will follow their normal chain of Commands and will ultimately fall under the authority of the Office of the Prime Minister. I have a letter from Prime Minister Reebil,” __ The man picks up his data pad and begins to read. “My fellow Citizens of Baklid, I am humbled to be asked to serve our world and our people once more. The road behind us has been laced with inaction, betrayal, and hardships. I cannot promise that tomorrow will be completely better, but I can promise you this. I will give of myself the same level of loyalty, devotion, and service that I had given to the Delphinium family my entire life. My first command was on the front lines in Europa, I fought and bled for peace to our people. When I served as Senior Military Advisor to the late King, I found paths to peace that other weaker officers failed to realize. At the funeral of Prince Taysky Delphinium, he was like a son to me, I alone stood by our beloved King as trusted friend.…And this is what I bring to the table. My devotion to bring an end to this violence. A shared pain that we all have suffered at the hands of savages who only seek death and violence.” __ The man kept reading from the data pad, “I know many of you still love our Queen and so you should. I know in my heart, that her plan for Peace was set in the right place. And had we been dealing with peace loving sensible people, her plan could have worked. Sadly, she was misguided by ideals she learned in the Core. Our Queen has spent too long living in the Core. Spent too much time forgetting about the pain and suffering of her own people. Those who bent a knee to her and begged her to lead them into the future. Despite what you have read about in the media regarding her acts of treason, I believe in my heart that her attempts to bring peace was not treasonous, just misinformed about our collective enemy. And while the Courts are deciding the fate of our Queen, we must decide our future as a people.” The man kept reading as the Kel Dor next to him turned her head to glance at the door. …. He raised his head from the data, “Thank you, there will be no questions….” __ As the clip ends, the woman turns to her counterpart, “Isn’t that just wonderful.” He nodded, “it sure is. When an Outer Rim World walks away from tyranny and embraces democracy, that is worth celebrating.” She laughed, “I will tell you what is worth celebrating. They are called Okubi Pets.” “Oh, I have heard of them,” he said softly. She nodded, “the only way you have not heard of them, is if you had been living under a rock or in the Outer Rim!” The pair laughed playfully. She continued, “Okubi Pets, are completely genetically engineered pets to be prefect to the owner. For the past few years, they were only seen by the wealthiest of the Core. Now, these cute and wonderful little things are popping up everywhere.” “Oh…I want to know more….” He said with excitement. |
