Old Friends and Rivals
In Orbit over the Outer Rim World of Mimar
2nd Battalion, 10th Division
Republic Vengeance, Flagship
Venator-class Star Destroyer
As the fires on Mimar are reduced to a simmer, the day started to give way to early evening. A lone Jedi, Gadeon, works his way through the forest heading to his meeting with a former classmate from Fray. He had planned to meet the leader of the resist on this world.
With the help of Auro, Gadeon had set up the meeting using a form of communication that had been perfected by the Saberblades, the Fencing Team from the Jedi Academy on Fray. He knew that the only person on the entire world that would be able to receive the message would be the woman responsible for the fire-bombing at the club the morning before.
As he walked up to the site where the meeting was located, he could sense through the force that he was not alone. It didn’t take long for him to see the forms of five people lurking just within the tree line. It also didn’t take him long to realize that she was there among them. He could sense the fresh touch of darkness on her.
Back on the Vengeance’s bridge, long range sensors picked up a long Republic shuttle slipping out of hyperspace. The shuttle was transmitting a transponder stating that it was hailing from the Republic cruiser Retaliation. The Retaliation is the flagship of the 3rd Battalion, 10th Division. Without consulting Auro or members of the party, Jedi Knight Demaya authorized the shuttle to land. More surprising was the fact that the Jedi Knight Demaya left the bridge to greet the shuttle personally.
This information came to party’s knowledge with plenty of time to receive the surprising new arrival to the Vengeance.
