After a surprising
Change of Command ceremony that included a Title & Land Granting, Jedi Knight Auro Syrdash renounced his loyalties to the Jedi Order and officially left their ranks. Knight Syrdash renewed his pledge of loyalty to the Galactic Republic. In doing so, and by special order of Chancellor Syrdash, Knight Syrdash became Lord Sembla.
While the ceremony was all pomp and circumstance, the very private meeting between Auro and his mother was less official as they discussed the coming conflict between the two Jedi sects and the future of the Jedi Order. To Auro’s surprise, his title came with a land grant on his homeworld of Sembla. A 1,545 square meter island has been set aside for Auro’s official homestead, thus making his Title legal under Republic Law.
Another move that shocked all was Chancellor Syrdash’s move to withdraw the elite Tenth Republic Division from under direct Jedi Control. She reorganized the elite unit with her own personal bodyguard. In doing so, she broke with nearly five centuries of tradition. For the first time in as many years, the office of the Chancellor now controlled a front-line unit directly. This move also left in question whom the Chancellor would name as General of the Grand Army of the Republic, a post that she had filled prior to her ascension to the Chancellorship.
After the ceremony, Lord Sembla (Auro) was disheartened that several Jedi and their loyal officers choose to leave the Ten Division and remain part of the Jedi Order. While these departures didn’t diminish the Tenth’s over all combat abilities, it was a blow against moral. Luckily for Lord Sembla (Auro), Jedi Knight Demaya opted to remain loyal to the Tenth Division and maintained her command of the Vengeance and the 2nd Battalion. The first real test for the Tenth and Lord Sembla was quickly approaching. Unfortunately, the location of Unna or what happened to her still remains a mystery to Lord Semble (Auro) and the Chancellor.
Lord Sembla ordered the 2nd Battalion to Olivan. Their orders were to observe the actions of two Jedi sects and should conflict erupt, protect the innocent. The Chancellor had expressed her fears to Lord Sembla (Auro) that the situation on Olivan had the potential to become explosive between the two Jedi ideologies. She urged Auro to make sure that if things got hot between the two forces, he was ordered to protect the civilians of the Outer Rim World.
With that critical task delighted to Jedi Knight Demaya, Lord Sembla (Auro) took the party on to Naboo. He continued, his hunt for Orchid while holding on to the hope of rescuing Cordelia. As the party closed on Naboo, a strange communication from Naboo took place. It appeared that someone by the name of Emoc Enola, had turned in Pablo-Jill, Auro’s beloved Albek. Pablo-Jill had been Albek-napped by Cordelia when she made her escape from the party nearly a year ago. It was proof that Lord Semble (Auro) needed that Cordelia was on Naboo. With his conviction made solid the party continued to press for Naboo
When the party arrived on Naboo, they were greeted by Prince and Jedi Hunter Biggs Saar. While Lord Semble (Auro) and Biggs have had a rather rocky relationship, it was clear on Biggs face that he was neither surprised nor pleased with the party’s untimely and unannounced arrival. Behind Biggs was Lysire and Biggs’ own Hunter Team. Prince Saar informed the party that he had learned of the party’s arrival through a leak from Naboo Space Control.
After questioning Lord Semble (Auro) regarding their reasons for being on Naboo, Biggs made the uncharacteristic move on being forthcoming. He informed Lord Semble (Auro) and the party that Orchid was indeed on world somewhere. He had called in several Jedi Hunters to help stop the woman more commonly known as the Flower of Destruction. He also informed Lord Semble (Auro) that Cordelia had played a key role in the kidnapping of Senator Palpatine and the murder of three Jedi Hunters who were guarding the Senator.
Biggs pointed out that Senator Palpatine was an outspoken political rival of his mother and that any involvement that Lord Semble (Auro) might have in the case could complicate things. Biggs escorted Lord Semble (Auro) to the location where his Albek was being taken care of by a local official. During their trip to Pablo-Jill. Biggs showed Lord Semble (Auro) the security footage of the attack. It was Cordelia, in her twisted and mentally unstable state. Lord Semble (Auro) explained how this was not the real Cordelia but a creation of Bariss’ manipulation of Cordelia through some kind of drug and the darkside.
Biggs conceded that Cordelia might be a victim in the whole thing, but once more reaffirmed his desire for the Jedi to handle the capture. That they have plan in place. Biggs pleaded with Auro’s sense of loyalty to his mother and to Justice to allow the Jedi to bring them all in. Lord Semble (Auro) remained steadfast and convinced Biggs to give Lord Semble (Auro) time to discuss this with his party. Once the party had been brought back to their waiting shuttle, and in clear deviance of Auro’s desire for time, Biggs ordered his team to depart. They left Lord Semble (Auro) and the party at their assault shuttle with the clear impression that they were not welcomed to be a part of this operation.
The question remains, where will the party first start to look for Orchid and Cordelia. Knowing that Biggs is a highly skilled Bladesman, can they reach Cordelia before Biggs and his team does. Having Lysire on his side gives Biggs a serious advantage in the current situation. A fact that has not been lost on Lord Semble (Auro). Luck favors the party; This neck of the woods is Duncan’s home-turf.
