For ease of reading. Part One is about Lysire and Sinya. Part Two is about Kaleb. Only to the characters involved is this character knowledge. All others, this is OOC! Read at your own risk!
Fight or Flight Montage (Part One)

A coffee cup floats through the air as Wraith moves from the back of the craft to the Nav Station. Lysire’s station on the shadow was bask in a dim red glow with only two parts of the station functioning.

It's been said and done
Every beautiful thought's been already sung

Her left station flashes in red the following messages
Reactor Status: Offline
Life Support Status: Failed
Hull Integrity: Critical
Transceiver Status: Damaged
Navigation System: Offline
Artificial Gravity: Offline
Emergency Power Status: Critical

Under these warnings, a more critical warning expresses the situation. With minutes, seconds and milliseconds passing.

In short, with just over twenty minutes left, the Shadow was dying.

Despite the red glow from the emergency lighting, music filled the craft. Bars on one of Lysire’s monitors bounce up and down as the song continues to play.

A small window flashed an incoming message from Nova. The window flashes in blue. An outgoing message flashing in red that reads, “We are still alive, but the Shadow is heavily damaged. We are in system, somewhere. We are trying to get the reactor back online.” A failed transmit message indicates that the transmitter part of the transceiver is damaged.

Under the Navigation, Lysire is laying, her foot tapping to the song filling the ship’s crew compartments. Tools float around her as she removed a component. She lets the burned component float away as Wraith hands her a new component.

High above the treetops, flashing lights of law enforcement signal the search underway. The fading darkness threatened by the raising sun in the distance. A pair of party goers leap from a Speeder with fear and concern on their faces. The bright glitter and colorful powder on their faces, clothes and hands are sharp contrast to the wounded man in armor that they rush to help. The echoes of the party that they just left ringing in their memories.

The back hatch of the speeder starts to open as Ryan and his girlfriend take a wounded Kaleb under their arms. Despite the weight of his armor and gear, the pair struggle and help him up from the tree he was leaning on. She takes his large heavy rifle from his shoulder. Even too weak to resist, a once proud Kaleb surrenders to his rescuers. They were not dressed for the occasion, and this only reflected how much they dropped to rush to Kaleb’s aid. Moving with haste, they help Kaleb to the waiting speeder as the sounds of pursuers grew louder.

The first sign of trouble came when a pair of troopers rushed from nearby bushes. Shifting to allow his female partner to help get Kaleb into the back of the speeder, Ryan turned and drew his blaster pistol. There was more fear in his heart than anger as he aimed and fired the blaster. A half dozen bolts rang out, and he was lucky that his shots were at least close. Ryan was a pilot, not a combat soldier. But for now, he was happy to just fool the troopers. The two troopers leaped for cover as a third figure joined the melee. The humming of his lightsaber screamed how dangerous this new opponent was.

Ryan spun to face the dreadlock touting Jedi and leveled his blaster at him. It only took three shots for this to come to an end. The first two were redirected back into the ground near the would-be rescuer. The third shot slammed into the blaster pistol causing it to explode in Ryan’s hand. Letting out a scream, Ryan fell back towards the speeder holding his wounded hand.

Lose your mind, lose it now

Fear over common sense drove her actions. Letting out a scream, she took the rifle and pulled the trigger. The interior of the back of the speeder took the brunt of the attack. Those rounds that cleared the back of the speeder flew harmlessly into the dark forest. The recoil of the heavy military weapon sent her slamming in to the back of the midrow seat. Terror fills her face as the large weapon continues to fire causing damage to the speeder and nearby trees. Kaleb let out a groan as he reached up and pulled the weapon down and stopped its useless fire.

Our two party going heroes might not be professional soldiers, but they make up for it in courage under fire and quick thinking. Bent over, Ryan pulls a small paper bag from his pocket and sets it a fire. He tosses it towards the Jedi and the troopers. Expecting a big explosion, the group leap back as our boy Ryan leaps into the back of the speeder. The party favors explode sending colorful (though harmless) sparks and color smoke everywhere. Ryan continues as he crawls for the pilot controls. As party favors and small fireworks aide in the escape, our two heroes flee the area with their wounded warrior safely tucked away under a multi-color blanket.

The damage to the Shadow is really shown from the outside. The port side of the craft took the brunt of the damage. But the massive gash along the lower port side wing, and fuselage really reflected the scope of the damage. The sleek right and light gray paint job littered with thick black burn marks from the battle with the uglies and with the cruiser. For such a small craft, the shadow hit back hard. And despite the damage, it took much more than Sinya thought it could.

A lone figure in a thick spacesuit works along the lower fuselage of the Shadow. The area lit up by work lights giving more emphasis to the damage. Serval access panels float in the space near the shadow as the figure works. Floating next to her, a proton torpedo waits for her attention. Carefully Sinya pulls the reactor core from the shadow. Normally the core would be glowing with energy, however the heart of the shadow is dark and lifeless.

Sinya left the core floating next to the Shadow as she turned her attention to the torpedo on the other side of her. She carefully opened the case and started to remove the guts of the weapon. She moved her hand to wipe her forehead only to realize the foolishness of the effort. Her face lined with sweat as she worked on the torpedo. She pulled the heart of the weapon out and moved the rest of the weapon away from her. She pulled a holocorder up from a pouch and activated it. Lysire’s instructions were complicated as usual, but she understood what had to happen.

She took the power core and removed the spent fuel from the core. With a flip of her wrist, she sent the fuel floating away from her. Next, she took the reactive core from the torpedo and slid it into the core. It didn’t fit right away, but Sinya made it fit inside with some gentle nudging and pushing. She let the core go for a moment as she floated back. Of all the things she had done, taking something that is meant to explode and make it do the opposite seemed impossible to her.

She pulled a small device from her pocket. Her eyes scanned the small explosive device she had made under Lysire’s instructions. It wasn’t that the device was hard to make, in fact that part was easy. It was the idea of what she was about to do. She slid the device into the core with the reactive material of the torpedo. She then scanned Lysire’s instructions once more. Then moved the small explosive device and measured its placement.

Next, she grabbed the two portable power cores for the tailguns. She pulled them over and uncoiled the power cords. She plugged them in to ports along the reactor of the Shadow. Flipping the switches on the portable cores and on the reactor started the power transfer. Once the second core was hooked up to the reactor, the lights started to glow. The Shadow was slowly coming to life. Sinya smiled then looked at the bomb she just created and frowned.

She took the core and moved it in to position. She slid it back in the heart of the Shadow. Indicator lights told her that the core was reaching a point of critical mass. She needed to work fast if this was going to work. She pushed the core the last bit in to position and turned it clockwise till it clicked and locked into place. Warning lights flashed on the small monitor warning of the dangerous elements detected in the core. She frowned, “I know girl.”

Pulling herself close to the ship. If this failed, she wouldn’t want to survive the explosion. That would leave her lost in space with no hope of survival. And suffering a slow and lonely death. She would rather die with Lysire and Wraith. She watched the lights on the monitor tell her that the core was at peek critical mass. Sinya closed her eyes, “I trust you Lysire…” she whispered. She activated the explosive device in the core and activated the core start up at the same time………..

Walking across a dark alley well after sunrise, the pair helped Kaleb towards a door. Ryan knocked on the door in a pattern that was only meant for those who were supposed to be here. A small slit opened, and Ryan nodded to the wounded Kaleb and showed off the credits in his bandaged hand. The door slowly opened as an elderly pair of humans stepped out and inspected Kaleb. After a moment, the man frowned but the woman nodded. She motioned them to take Kaleb through the backdoor. Before they moved though, the old man held out his hand, and Ryan filled it with credits.

They help Kaleb through a dirty backroom and down a flight of stairs. The elderly woman leads the way as the two men help Kaleb down the stairs. Ryan’s girlfriend brings up the rear. The woman walks over to a panel and starts to turn on the lights to the chamber. The walls are lined with cybernetics, and body parts. The floor is dirty and has patches of dried blood across it. As the two men help Kaleb on to the lone bed in the middle of the room. Ryan’s girlfriend follows instructions as she pulls over a metal table with tools on it.

Kaleb tries to move but Ryan holds him down and reassures him. The elderly man walks an old medical droid over to the table, then helps to remove Kaleb’s armor. At the same time, the elderly woman walked over to Kaleb and started to use a medical scanner on him. Ryan watches with concern and hope, but the elderly woman won’t have it. She motioned Ryan away and directed the elderly man to treat Ryan’s wounds. She smiled at the younger woman standing across her, “don’t worry,” she said to both Ryan and the younger woman. “Your friend will be good as new soon. Maybe even better,” she said with a hint of laughter in her voice.
