Plowshares into swords 3/13/22

As she stands waiting for the Professor to return from his visit with the Judges, Haj is getting antsy. Durro's words echoing Malora's are churning her. She can feel the urge to move, to run the stories in her blood and out through her pores. She walks to him.
"Durro, you will be entering to see the Judges alone. I need to ... ", she looks back up the hallway.
"I don't know if you noticed, but they can manipulate the elements here as easily as we can move objects with the Force. I watched their blacksmith bending metal. I want to go get the chaos metal to see if they can shape it their way to make the weapons we want. I should be gone a couple of hours, maybe a little more."
She places her hand on his arm and smiles up at him. "I can also check on the girls ... that may delay me a bit as they have been cooped up all day and may need to burn off some energy."

"I did notice, and I planned on checking it out as well. Though I'd prefer to explore with you."
He places his hand on hers and squeezes it gently.
"I've been thinking about the girls. Things have moved fast, but I'd like to give them an hour or two off the ship at least."

'To give them that amount of time means I will be gone for several hours, as we are an hour from the Gungnir. " Her smile widens to a grin.
"Though if I were to bring them back, they would get their run, some exploration, and maybe a meal that isn't rations. Despite the good table he keeps, some variety sounds delicious."
"I'll see if Astra or Tesara wants to come with me so I am not traveling alone. Besides, I have a feeling I could use the help", she laughs lightly.
Leaning in, she kisses him gently on his temple near his hairline and whispers in his ear. "Meet me for dinner later. We should have much to share."

Durro squeezes her briefly in a hug.
"I'll be looking for you lot when we return from here. Stay alert and stay safe."
He calls after her, almost as an afterthought.
"May the Force be with you." He grins and adds "You're going to need it."

She turns and heads back up the hallway at a light sprint, stopping at the sound of his voice.
Looking over her shoulder, her eyes search his, though for what not even she is sure. She wants to reach out to him, to share strength, support, her fears? To tell him what he has come to mean to her so that he can take that with him before the Judges?
She turns back before he can see the worry on her face and says a little prayer to any God that will hear her that they are gentle with him, "And also with you."

He watches her go, wishing he could follow. They came all this way, though; he will get what he needs from these judges and, as promised, he will come back. For Hadaza, for Tesara and Astra, for the girls, and even for Professor Kenobi.
"We couldn't have a better team to fight the swarm." He thinks with a smile. "Now to take the next step on that journey."
