Magic of Liasien and YOU!
Magic of Liasien and YOU!

Long before Liasien was ever a realm, there was magic. The Magic flowed from across the great divide and over the empty void that was Liasien. Then came the Ancient Gods. They were able to bend and work Magic like never seen before or sense. Even the Elder Gods lack the complete control over Magic as the Ancient Gods have. It was the Ancient Gods that created Liasien and all the races. It was said that they used magic to bring the first tribes and clans to Liasien. Other races like the dark deep dwelling races were created by the darkest of magics. Magic flowed from the Ancients as they bent it to do their will. However when the Ancient Gods were cast out from Liasien by the Elder Gods, magic for the first time was allowed to flow freely over Liasien. Today Magic touches every part of a person's life. It is written in the Scrolls of the Elders, "to be without magic is to be without life."

All Characters regardless of level, race or class has access to some degree of magic.

The following rules will explain this degree:

All Classes:
Each Character gets a number equal to their Intelligence Score in Cantrips.

Cantrips are described as small, useful tricks that every one knows from first early childhood, and can perform at-will.

With a cantrip you can bring a salt shaker (or a key) to your hand. The travel would be slow and noticeable if someone were to look. You can light a candle or torch, though this is a very small fire. While it can ignite combustibles, some harder items will take longer to ignite or not at all with this cantrip.

You can make sounds or blow some dust off of a book. Send a small shower of sparkles over a birthday boy/girl.

The basic rule of Cantrips is that they will not cause a target to make any rolls. Normally they will not affect combat. You them wisely and they can be useful.

All Class (Expect Wizards Groups and Priests Groups):
Each 4 Levels starting at level 4, each character gains the ability to learn spell from either the Wizard or the Priest magical spells groups. Once you selected your group you CAN NOT change it and you can only select new spells from that group. These spells are to be treated like normal spells and are cast at half the character's current level. Remember normal study and prayer times apply. Please take note that Intelligence and Wisdom limitations will apply.

Under this rule, you may cast one per every four levels.

Wizards Groups and Priests Groups (Only):
Each Wizard or Priest can achieve tremendous power as they gain levels and knowledge. As a reflection of this, Study times and Prayer times that is normally a tedious task is made much easily on Liasien. These times are cut in half!

Under this rule, the number of spells that can cast per day is increased by 1.5. As is range and duration are also increased by 1.5.

Any Questions, Comments or Concerns?

It was asked by The_Bostonian

"bonus spells for wizards with high intelligence?"

To Answer this question, I have dug deep in to the question regarding Bonus Spells for Wizards that would mirror those within the rules for Priests for a high wisdom score. I regret to answer, that bonus spells are listed only for the Priest Group classes.

It is expressly said that Priests and only Priest benefit from this. As I continued to dig, I found an article in Dragon Magazine regarding this. The authors of the Players Hand Book gave the Wizards a massive number of spells that they had access to. However, the Priests however were limited in their spells by their gods. This Bonus Spell was meant to act as a balance between the two groups.
