Born a very wealthy family back on Ferasa, Etxebarria has enjoyed all the finer things that life has to offer. Her family owns and operates the three only dilithium mining operations in the entire system. From an early age, Etxebarria has expressed a love for Starfleet and service to the Federation. Given the very best education that latinum could buy, Etxebarria has grown in to a very intelligent young woman. This was shown in her Starfleet Entrance Exam, where she scored in the top twenty percent of all applicants. Etxebarria sored through the Academy with high grades and was selected to serve her Cadet Cruise aboard the USS Enterprise as a Helms Officer. After a very successfully Cadet Cruise, Etxebarria choose to have her next assignment with the Tenth Fleet.
While assigned to the Tenth Fleet, she served directly under her family's personal and long time friend, Admiral Masc, as his personal runabout pilot. Etxebarria was on leave exploring the Janaran Falls while the Tenth Fleet was conducting training operations when the Dominion attacked Betazed. Cut off from Starfleet, then Ensign, Etxebarria managed to lead a handful of disorganized planet defenders in a guerrilla campaign against the Dominion invaders. Using a small group of out of date shuttles and Peregrine fighters, the Betazed guerrillas were able to mount a number of successfully raids against Dominion sites across Betazed. However despite their heroics and success, the guerrillas were hardly even a thorn in the side of the Dominion military might on Betazed. They were such a small threat that the Dominion hardly even attempted to counter the guerrillas.
Etxebarria was given a commendation for her heroism after the liberation of Betazed. She continued to serve the Tenth Fleet as a seasoned Peregrine pilot and took part in the battle of Battle of Cardassia. It was recorded that she achieved Ace status during the battle as she managed to engage and destroy over twenty separate enemy fighters during this single battle. After the war, Etxebarria submitted her request to leave Starfleet and made plans to return home to Cait where she planned to work in her family's business. However those plans were changed after a 'chance' meeting with Commander Bonham who managed to recruit her to join the elite Jolly Rogers, the Federation's first official Fighter Group.
Etxebarria is a strong pilot with increasing skills. Even before her assignment to the
USS Thunderchild she was one of the few recognized Aces of Starfleet. Etxebarria and her wingman Lieutenant Junior Grade Pander have become a vital team within the Jolly Rogers. The two could almost read the other's mind, they became as if they were linked. Already the pair have scored higher in simulations than any other pilot (minus Commander Bonham and Commander Lindquist) in Starfleet. The pair often playfully indicate that they will surpass Commander Bonham's current record, as they can only get better and he is over the hill. Etxebarria currently holds second place in Official Career Kills of the
Thunderchild's pilots. Currently, Lieutenant Junior Grade Etxebarria shares training roles with Lieutenant Junior Grade Pander aboard the
USS Thunderchild.
Etxebarria and Pander have became close friends during the ship's refit. When they first met, the two took to each other like long lost sisters. Utopian personnel often referred to the two as the Trouble Sisters, as they often ended up in trouble together. These troubles were nearly always the results of their nighttime adventures trolling local bars and clubs. Which ended up becoming their favorite pastime during refit. They would dress up and get all the male junior officers worked up only to dismiss them. This recent behavior has given Etxebarria the description of 'Good girl gone bad' thanks to her relationship with known bad girl, Pander.
Because of her wealthy background and her more noble mannerism, her fellow pilots call Etxebarria the Princess. Etxebarria is a very loyal friend and has ever left her wingman's side when trouble is about. She is also very driven in her skills and knowledge. She can often be found reading something when not out with her wingman. A natural tease, Etxebarria loves using her sexuality to get what she wants from others. Even if that desire is for her own amusement. Despite her actions, she never intends to hurt the feelings of others. In her own words, "It just happens that way. Its all for fun."
