Who Are You Durro? [Astra and Durro] (Closed)

Some time after the lunch with sunco
Astra was settled in the living room area of the Lovers hideaway. She sat on the couch Rosa laying in her lap and supported by one arm and flipping throw the pages of Lord Sereno's journal. She did not know exactly where Durro was and was not going to hunt him down so she would wait until she saw him to get the answers she was looking for.

Durro is in the small backyard of the house, the Jedi training remote humming and zooming around him like an angry bee. It fires rapidly, its movements erratic, though Durro catches every shot that threatens to hit him. His face is focused but calm, even on this hardest setting, the remote no longer poses a challenge for him. Perhaps he should acquire another, or a few more. Multiple attacks at once should prove more engaging. The remote hums and buzzes, firing six shots in rapid succession, each from a different angle. Durro does try to deflect them back at the remote, but the nimble sphere evades the return fire.

The sound of shots being fired in the backyard caught Astra's attention. So she head to investigate. With Roza cradled him her arms and the journal held tightly in her free hand. She looked out a window at first to see Durro practicing.
She watched for a bit before opening the back door. " You know I always found those remotes to be boring. Your Master Durro is that correct?" She asked.

Durro senses the young woman approaching, and when she speaks he leaps away from an incoming shot, and with a practiced swing, knocks the remote from the air. It falls still, and Durro lands lightly, turning to face Astra. He bows grandly, theatrically.
"I am. At your service, m'lady."
Standing straight again, he summons the remote with the Force and inspects it.
"Yes, this one no longer poses a suitable challenge. Perhaps a few more might be more imposing?"
He looks from Astra to the baby to the journal.
"You must be Astra. A pleasure; you have been resting every time I am around, it seems. How can I help you?"

Astra watched him carefully. Not at all surprised by his acrobatics. Though still entertaining to watch. She razed an eyebrow when he called her M'lady.
" or sparing against another person?" Astra sigested. She had always preferred to spare with a partner over a remote. Even if she had always lost to him. A distinct look and warm smiled crossing her face as she remembered those matches with Sol. Durro's voice brought her back to reality and she focused on him once again.
" I should be training" she comented more of a thought to herself then a statement to him. She shook her head and studied him a moment longer. Yes he was definitely in the palace that day. " Yes, you can tell me how you know my mother and why you broke into the palace the day..." She posed for a moment. The memory was a painful one and she had a hard time keeping it hidden. " The day of the coronation " she fianaly said.

"You're a Jedi?" Durro says, raising an eyebrow. "I'd love to spar with you sometime. I regularly spar with my apprentice, Tesara, but I taught her everything she knows so she is... easily readable." He says the last part with a smile.
Durro studies her face as she speaks, feeling the emotion she tries to keep hidden inside.
"Your mother? I'm not sure I understand. What's that have to do with the coronation?"

She hesitates a moment it was not obvious. " Yes, im a Jedi well I... Lord Sereno died before I technically made knight so I don't know whether im a knight yet or not." She said.
She raised an eyebrow. " My mother is the queen. You know her and you broke into the palace the day of her Coronation I know I saw you on the scarcity holo." She said. She took a deep breath. " Look Master right now all I know is you are the reason she was arrested I want to know your side of the story. Please tell me." She said. The determined look on her face said this was important to her.

Durro bows respectively.
"Forgive me Princess, things have been chaotic; I wasn't informed of your parentage."
He smiles slightly and continues
"Yes, I broke into the palace the day of the coronation. I did meet the crown princess, and helped her fight off a small army of battle droids."
His smile turns to a more serious look
"I entered the palace expecting it to be deserted, or as near as it could be. I was looking for the truth about the destruction of a neutral field hospital, which appeared to be destroyed by the Royal military."

Astra shook her head. " Please don't call me Princess. My name is Astra im different from anyone else." She said. She disliked the title. Though who could blame her the day she learned it her life had been shattered and she was still struggling to put it back together.
" What that doesn't sound right Mother was trying to stop the war she would never orders that even if she did not try to stop the war she would not order the destruction of a field hospital. " she said, " How did this come into your position and why did she continue to meet with you?" Astra asked. Nodding towards the journal.
She stepped into the grass finly deciding life would be easier if her had some use of her hand. She sat down. It had been some time since she last felt grass beneath her it was nice she liked nature anyway. She always prfued the forest to the big city's. She set the journal down in front of her. And the baby in her lap but still protectively cradled with one arm. " please, join me it's a nice day I think I prefer to stay outside for a bit longer." She said inviting him to sit with her.

Durro sits across from her and closes his eyes, mindfully enjoying the late afternoon sun on his face, the soft whoosh of the slight breeze across his skin, the smell of the grass and nearby plant life, and the sounds of birds and insects. The life around him hums in the Force. After a deep breath he says;
"The Queen was not responsible, as I found out. The Royal Forces were framed for the attack."
Durro reaches for the journal, running his hand along the cover and reaching out to the various gems with the Force. As he flips through it (reminding himself of the inscription on the inside cover -cough- @TheTraveler#0520 -cough-), he addresses Astra;
"This was delivered to me as we were leaving Baklid VI for Lanus. I've read it through twice and read random passages from it frequently. It's beautifully written; shows me another side of a complex individual. Why do you ask?"

She watched him for a moment the anger she had felt towards him disappearing as she realized that he was not what she has seen him as. In that moment deciding she would give him her trust. " most likely they Dooku's" Astra said shaking her head. Disappointment in the family washing over like a wave. She did not bother to try and hide this one. She agnolaged the feeling let herself feel the disappointment that her family was capable of something so horrible and then let it go.
" if only read a page or two give he was not just my Master I don't know what to think of what I read. She loved him much the same why I loved Sol and it's his kyber crystal in the cover who ever she trusted it to had earned it. " she said. A great deal of sadness and loneliness washed over her she once again struggled to keep the painful emotions in check and hidden. She shut her own eyes and took several deep breaths. An attempt to calm her mind and force her feelings into submission.

"You are a Dooku?" Durro says with slight surprise. "The daughter of..." he trails off, confusion on his face.
"That's impossible, the timeline doesn't make sense. Unless you are a lot younger than you look." He gives Astra a pointed look.

Astra shakes her head. " he is not my biological father their child my brother died. He is however my adoptive father. And the only one I care to know about." Astra said gently. A smile crossing her face. She found Duro's confusion amusing.
" I was brought into his family under a pretense of a Rare and pized ability. At least that's what he told everyone even me. I did not learn the truth of the matter until after he died. He was always a warm person, I know he cares just could not put together why. He hand my mother had meet and fell in love a while before he found me. I was taken from her when she was twelve and bounced around from orphanage to orphanage before being I rolled and excepted at the Sereno academy. Had Lord Sereno not adopted me I would not be a Jedi" She said. She took a deep breath and forced on Durro she did not want to think about the fact that she had been responsible for both Sol and Roza's death. That was one she would probably never heal from.

Durro looks surprised and still slightly confused.
"Your mother was twelve when she had you?"
He shakes his head;
"Royals. I'll never understand what goes on in the halls of power."
He gives Astra another apprising look.
"So you're a Jedi, a Dooku by adoption and a Delphinium by birth, who also recently had a child, but the looks of it. How old are, Astra? You don't look much older than Tesara. Though I suppose if your mother had you at twelve..."

Astra shook her head" I'm 18 I don't know about Jedi from your universe but from here we are encouraged to have family and lead some what normal life. Roza is all that's left of Sol" she said.

Durro looks kindly at Astra and her baby, at Roza.
"Sol was... your husband? You Jedi marry young."
He gives a slight smile.
"In my universe, the Jedi forbade marriage or the forming of attachments."

"he would have been, We found out I carrying her an decided to get marred." she looked down at the sleeping child, a sad smile crossing her face. "Lord Sereno made him ask my mother that was the last day i saw him alive." She said then looked back at Durro. "Why would Attachments be forbiden? It was my friendship with Sol and Roza that gave me the stranth to continue this path." she said confused.

Durro closes his eyes thoughtfully.
"The Jedi in my universe wanted to avoid the creation of powerful Force dynasties. What you would call Legacy Families. They also felt that attachments, especially familial attachments, would lead to the Dark Side. That Jedi would place their loved ones above their duty to the Jedi and people of the Republic."
(OOC @TheTraveler: Is the crystal Dooku's lightsaber crystal? Durro was using the Force on the gems when he took the book in his hands.)

Astra blinked confused. "Attachments don't lead to the dark side" she said just even more confused. "Before you and i can Spare we need or i need to solve the problem of my lightsaber" Astra said quietly.

"I understand that." Durro says with a grin. His look turns solemn when he continues. "The Jedi Council didn't. Attachments were forbidden. Families were forbidden. Our emotions were to be strictly controlled. It was my time on Lanus, meditating on my master's final teachings, that taught me differently."
After a moment, he continues.
"Have I answered your questions? Do you need anything else from me?"

"'Can you trust me?'" Durro repeats. He pauses a moment before answering. "That's a question only you can answer, Astra. Though I try to be honest and forthcoming to everyone." He leans in with a conspiratorial smile, as if sharing a secret, and says softly; "It's much easier to keep things straight that way. Too many lies are hard to keep track of."

Astra smiled " Iv never been good at Lieing" she said and held her hand out. "That Journal belongs to me I was instructed to make my lightsaber with Lord Sereno's Crystal. My mother calmed it was Lord Sereno's wish that the crystal be passed to me. Once i make my lightsaber we can have that Sparing match you wanted" She said.

"Do you not have a training saber? Your own Kyber crystal?"
Durro looks at the book a long moment, then hands it back.
"I must have misunderstood the Queen's intentions leaving me the book. Let me know if you need any other assistance from me."
With that Durro rises and helps Astra up.

Astra blinks " what did you think Queen's intentions were? We're you given any instruction when it was given to you" Astra said confused. Have of her wanting to give him the crystal. She know better if Durro we're discovered with it. It also should not be in the hand of someone not a member of the Dooku family. The Crystal was rightly hers and her responsibility wether she wanted it or not.

Durro looks slightly uncomfortable, maybe embarrassed?
"I think the Queen and I hit it off when we first met; I did not take her seriously at first and may have been a bit... flirty? She did say I reminded her the Lord of Serenno."
He gestures to the book
"When that arrived, I thought she wanted me to know more about Dooku. To understand who she had fallen in love with. Then she went out of her way to see me on Lanus, which made me wonder what she had in mind."
With that, he moves to head inside.
"Now that I know that Dooku's Kyber Crystal is on the cover, I understand I was only the book's temporary guardian. Aside from that, I'm not sure why she gave it to me."

" why did she meet you on Lanus," astra said. She was now more confused. This man like Lord Sereno how?
" Master durro I know you are busy but could we talk again when you have the time. I would like to know more about you. Your interesting." She said. She was genuinely interested in how her mother though he was like Lord Sereno. With that information Durro had her trust.

Durro turns and gives her a cocky grin.
"I think she likes me."
With that, he goes inside.
