On the trail of Thel-Tanis 5/31/21
"Make sure that your men remain back. I only want them covering the exits. Nothing more," Jedi Master Ket Combro said sternly at the commander of the Baklid’s Secret Police group that had accompanied him and his Padawan.
"Yes Jedi Master," the man said then turned and walked back to his group of forty men.
The seasoned Jedi Master watched the man walk away but knew the orders he gave would be disregarded the first moment they had a reason.
He let out a disappointing sigh as he turned to rejoin his Padawan. At that moment the comlink went off.
He turned his eyes to the setting sun over the Capital City as he activated the comlink. With his other hand, he waved his Padawan over to him.
"Master," the male Jedi Hunter said. The team is assembled and ready for the trip back to Coruscant. Are you coming," he asked softly.
"No, Quinn," he said firmly. "Padawan Korraay and I are checking a last minute lead on Thel-Tanis."
"Master?!" Quinn said in surprise. "I can have the team ready in five, give us your location."
He shook his head as if the disembodied voice could see him, "we are at the Tower Hotel. And that, won't be necessary. I don't sense Thel-Tanis here," he said then paused. He closed his eyes. "I don't think its anything worth our time, but I am not sure."
Quinn laughed, "you Master not sure, that will be the day."
"Anyway, I have a couple of teams of Secret Police with me, compliments of the Prime Minister," the Jedi Master said softly.
"Well then, in that case I can get you a company from Sha Koon's unit. For their protection," he laughed.
"What about the two prisoners," he asked softly, dismissing the comment.
"Once more your insights were spot on. They had no ties with Thel-Tanis. Still there was enough evidence against them, so I had them transported to Starlight for incarceration."
The old Jedi laughed, "you have still a lot to learn. You added two small fish to your catch, when I would've let them go and see what bigger fish they drew out."
Quinn laughed, "well that is why you are the Master Hunter and I am just a Knight."
He nodded, "I don't think this will be more than a Hotel Whiskey. I will keep in touch." On that he turned off the comlink.
He then turned to Padawan Korraay, "tell me young Padawan, what do you feel?"

Astra closed her eyes reaching out to the force. The force shrouded and canwcted evey living thing stronger emotions left riples in it like a drop of water falling into a still pond. A good jedi could read that and tell what those around them were fealing.
" Fear from the staff. Why are they afraid? Are we not here to protect the people. There's sumthing else to.... We are being watched.... sumthing seams off about this." She said then looked to her master. " Master sumthing else is going on here and what is hotell whisky? I thought alcohol was forbidden to us?" She added after a moment.

The veteran Jedi Master had set up their staging area far enough away to not attract unwanted attention. But he knew those nearby would spot them as they cut through the thick wood Grove towards the hotel.
He nodded thoughtfully, "there is an air of fear of us because they don't realize what we do for them," he explained. "We are the torches that hold back the darkness."
Without taking his eyes off the front entrance of the hotel he spoke, "yes, I sense them too. They plot behind our back. Corporate operatives most likely. I suspect they were behind the tip we received about Thel-Tanis."
He glanced at her, "I doubt they will interfere where us."
He laughed, "Hotel Whiskey is not a drink young Padawan. It means Health and Welfare. We don't tell them who we are after. The last thing we want is a panic to tip the terrorists off."
He paused at the front door, "do you see this symbol," he said pushing the brush aside and reveal a symbol in the concrete footer.
"This means that the building has been built using Coruscant Jedi Code." Giving a nod, "this will make our task easier."

" perhaps if we spent less time in are temple and more time out amongst the people they would understand and fear us less. I sent fear the path to the dark side. As are most emotions" she said shaking her head.
" why are we after Thel-Thanis" she asked. As she looked up at the building. Half wondered if she could use the force to run up the side of it.
" Thel-Tanis is a terrorist then. Do we even have proof of that Master and why is there a need for secret Police. " She asked. She questioned everything she always had but she had gotten worse about it in the last year or so.
" I don't understand how dose a symbol make are Job easier" she asked.

He smiled at her wave of questions, "let your mind be calm Padawan. You have many years of field training ahead of you."
He motioned her inside, "as for the Secret Police," there was a frown across his lips. "The planetary leader, the Prime Minister, doesn't trust us to do our job of capturing Thel-Tanis, after he escape our grip at Richie Resort."
He came to a stop, "do you feel that," as he held his arm across her path. (Roll Wisdom)
"Someone has been to the Underverse," there was cold disdain in his voice.

Astra glared at her master. " yah training" she remarked almost bitterly.
" what is the point of secret Police in the first place master. It seams wrong for a police fore to be kept secret from the people even if it is a horribly kept secret" she said
Aurora stoped as Master Quinn blocked her path she reached out to the force. " I don't feal anything Master what is it." She asked.
" underverse who? Master." She asked.

He waved off the issue, "we are Jedi. We do not bother ourselves with the internal issues of sovereign worlds." He paused then added, "that is as long as the Darkside is not involved."
He motioned her towards the lift, "underverse," he said then paused. "Think of this, akin to spice for Force Users. Except, worse, more deadly and more dangerous." The disdain was clear in his voice. "Only truly a lost and helpless being would presue such a sensation," he added as he activated the lift.

"how do we know if the dark side is involved or not" she asked
" undelivere , sound like horrible stuff why would someone take it willingly . Could there life be that empty and hopeless" she asked. She half wondered if that was how Sol and his master had been captured and killed. She shook her head and refused on the task at hand. " are we after a force user" she asked?

As the lift started up, "I can sense them," he said reaching out through the force." He closed his eyes for a moment as he focused his senses. The Force moved like a wave around him. "Thel-Tanis was here," he proclaimed as he pulled out his comlink, "commander alert your men, the tip was accurate." He didn't wait for a reply before turning it off and contacting Quinn.
"Quinn," he said and waited for the acknowledgement. "The tip was accurate. Thel-Tanis was here. Bring the team, and alert Sha Koon, she will be able to redeem herself."
"Yes Master, we will there in twenty five minutes," Quinn said.
"Padawan," he said in a grave tone. "you need to pay attention to everything I say and do what I say without question or delay."

He closed his eyes and moved through the force as he prepared himself for the coming battle. As the force continued to flow around him, Luna could feel his mastery of the Force. He smiled turning to gaze down at her, "we prepare for combat, we don't provoke it." The lift doors opened up and he stepped off. "Remember what I told you about the symbol outside," he said.
"During your training you will learn what to look for and how to access it," he said as his hand hovered over the decorative panels between the lift doors. He stopped and waved his hand over a particular piece, "here it is," he said with success in his voice. As his hand moved over it, the piece popped from the wall like a little arm and spun like a combination. All the lift doors and those leading to the stairwalls made a locking sound as the indicator lights turned red. He turned to her with a smile on his face, "now do you see what I mean by easier."
