He turned to Tesara, "I know I am not as smart as my sister, but I had to make sure. When two more Darksiders were reported on Baklid 2," he frowned deeply, "this whole thing got much more serious. So I had to make sure. And by prolonging my check-ins, I could make sure before I had to," he turned his attention back to Astra, "lie to my Master about what I saw in your mind." He tilted his head to the side slightly, "I do trust you. But I had to be sure if I was going to take that step for you."

Quinn laughed as he watched her get ready to leave. "I don't think we need to worry about the fighting style. More the Force Techniques involved. But we will talk about that when you get back."
As she left he turned to Tesara, and smiled nervously. This was it, the moment of truth. Where the overbearing and caring friend tries to scare away a potential boyfriend.
He frowned to himself was he wondered, if he was a potential boyfriend. He thought of it. Sure Astra was gorgeous, he felt his cheeks flush. And she was clearly interested in him. But could he be faithful to her, he wondered. Not in the sense of other women, it wasn't like the girls were beating a path to his door.
No, it was could be give her the loyalty she deserved. He was a Hunter to his core. And what happened if she strayed. Could he hunt her, his nervous rose.
It was then he realized the awkward silence as Tesara watched him. 'Was she glaring,' he wondered to himself. She stood like a rancor ready to rip him apart. Suddenly he felt small before the tiny teenager.

Prior to Astra's arrival Quinn stood there awkwardly looking at Tesara. He wasn't sure just how to approach the situation. It wasn't like he could strike her down in the name of the Light.
He let out a sigh of defeat, "I suspect you are the type to have your prey fear what actions you might take while plotting to actually take your own actions."
He rubbed the back of his head, "I am not so good at reading people, but I can see what's in your eyes. You don't trust me," he stated as a matter of fact.

Tesara shrugged. "I don't wholly DISTRUST you either. I think you have real feeilngs for Astra and you're pretzeling yourself about them. You have a lot of fear. That's normal. I just... " She sighs and relaxes a little. "She's had such a hard time, Quinn. If you betray her or hurt her, I'm not going to let it go. She is my friend and she deserves happiness. So you're here now, but when your mission is over you will return to Coruscant, I believe? What then? What happens to Astra and Roza then, Quinn?" She is speaking calmly, her face is also calm, just curious.

He stood his ground like a good Hunter would. But then when the final words were utter he slumped his shoulders in defeat.
Letting out a deep sigh, "I do like her," he looked away. More from shame than anything else. "Coruscant isn't our base of operations. After this mission, we will most likely go to Starlight for counseling before taking up a new mission."
He realized he was as much avoiding her question and statement than anything else. "I am a Hunter, sworn to defend the Galaxy against the Deepest Darkness."
It was the very best thing he could come up with. "You think me leaving is the worse," he said plainly to Tesara. "I didn't mean to, but I saw in to her mind. I know the darksider is known to you and your friends."
His face grew flush with embarrassment as he stood there. He raised his eyes to hers. Within them she saw pain, not anger or betrayal.
"So I stay and love her, be all that she deserves. What happens if her association to this darksider corrupts her?" His words were labored with pain and uncertainty, not fear or anger. "Will you, help me hunt her and bring her to Starlight," he asked. Though his voice cracked and revealed a shocking revelation. He wasn't sure he could hunt Astra to the ends of the Galaxy. It was an uncertainty that both he and Tesara now knew. His frown only grew deeper.

Tesara inhaled slowly, and exhaled slowly, pulling the energy from her core to center herself before answering. "Quinn, the person you are referring to...I do not believe she is a darksider. I did meet her, and spent time with her, long before the lightning. She displayed no signs of the dark side whatsoever. I believe she was in complete terror and out of that fear she reacted badly. " She frowns. "In fact she had no recollection of doing it." She continues to frown, obviously thinking hard. "If I had the slightest inkling that she had turned away from the light to the darkness, I would say so. But she is a child of the Angel, and the Angel represents the Light Side of the Force. It's not something she takes lightly. I honestly believe that if we were to question her, she would tell the whole truth and it would be that the force lightning was absolutely a reaction based out of fear." She smiles a little ruefully. "Having said that, she is not the type of person to be afraid often. She's very forthright and stands up for what she believes in, which is peace and fair treatment for her people." She looked sad. "But Quinn, your feelings for Astra and your mission to find this person...they are not the same thing. Yes, they are braided together, but Astra...as I said before, she deserves happiness. If she finds it in you and then you leave Baklid, you know she cannot go with you. You know the truth of who she is. She has a baby, Quinn. She cannot leave Baklid and follow you as you chase darksiders." She sighed again. "I am just...WE are both worried for her. For our own reasons. I'm just telling you how I feel about it."

Quinn walked over to a chair and half flopped and half dropped in to it. It was clear the man was not strong in the diplomatic arts. He was no peacemaker, for sure. Nor did he hide his feelings well.
"My feelings for Astra are just that, my personal feelings," there was a twang of bitterness to his voice as if the man were already waging an internal war over this very matter.
"When I believed that Astra was in need of protection, I never imagined that she would be so close to everything that my team is here on Baklid for," he admitted truthfully.
He face never looked up as he spoke. He just gazed down at the ground and Tesara could hear in his voice the hint of betrayal seeping in to his words.
"And I don't accept your words on this darksider," his next words were as sharp as any blade Tesara had used, "Yet you all still protect and hide her."
"I'm well versed in Lightning. It isn't something that just happens." Finally his eyes rose up to meet Tesara’s.
"You have to reach down and summon it through your anger and hate. It isn't something fueled by fear alone and doesn't just happen. It is manifested by force of will."
He shook his head, "and Astra is in the middle of it. And worse, little Roza is right there next to her mother." There was that pain again.
"So what am I to do," he said looking to her. "My family and those I see as family are searching for this darksider and her two friends."
He paused a moment then added something that Tesara already knew about.. "Someone I saw as a little sister was murdered." There were tears in his eyes as he spoke. "Left to die alone in a parking lot like some..."his voice broken with grief that he hadn't had a chance to deal with yet. "Her name was Jenna, Jenna Hiccie. She was thirteen."
"And this darksider's friend, the armored man. He and his friends opened fired on us. Three of the soldiers I was with were wounded," a hint of relief in his voice, "luckily only slightly."
"I almost had them," Quinn said as he left out a long sigh. Tesara felt the man's grief and sadness drain from him with his sigh. "But some pistol carrying masked man stopping me. But not before I blew his pistol apart in his own hand." Quinn let a slight laugh of satisfaction.

Tesara knelt down opposite him, her face was grave. "I don't know where they are, Quinn. The last time I saw her, she was going to Rotterdam and then I think she also wanted to go to Baklid 2. After that I have no idea where they are headed and neither does Astra.
Astra met her once for a brief span of an hour or two. She doesn't know her at all. Your team are hunters, and their job is to hunt. If I was not here to tell you this, they would still be hunted, no matter what I say. If you and the other hunters succeed in finding and capturing her, then what she does is not under my control."

He struggled over the issue in his mind. "It would be one thing if I suspect she didn't care for me. But if I read her mind, I would know for sure she does."

"Oh I think I understand now." She says quietly. "It's not like a pick and choose kind of thing...if you read her mind you will see everything and once seen cannot be unseen." She sounded thoughtful. "And if you see that she is in love with you, you don't know what path to choose....be the Hunter as you are expected to be, or leave it behind and stay with her." She watched him and he did look like a sad, broken thing. Sympathy rose in her, but it was tempered with the awareness that this man was dangerous as well. As she had said earlier, shs didn't mistrust him, but neither did she fully trust him either. "Quinn, please look at me." She said gently.

Quinn knew in his heart that this woman, at best was withholding information that is forcing his family in to unknown and possibly dangerous waters. At worse, she is an active ally of the darksider who murdered Jenna and tried to murder his Master.
Ever part of his being warned him of the dangers. But he was stupidity listening with his heart.
He raised his eyes and looked at her, half expecting to see a blaster in her hands aimed between his eyes, and half not.
'What a dangerous web you have fallen in to,' he cursed himself.
He didn't have anything else more to say, so he just looked at her. At least she didn't hold a blaster, he thought.

He frowned unsure if he was going to tell her or not. "I said," he started to repeat the lie but sighed. He just wasn't a lair. His older brother and sister had spent plenty of time teasing him about it.
He didn't bother, "it doesn't matter." Feeling trapped and cornered he decided to go on the attack. "You know her name, who she is," he said speaking of the darksider.
A sudden feeling of slam washed over him. He just didn't have this kind of thing in him. "We all have our secrets," he said giving her an escape. "Mine won't get anyone killed," he reminded Tesara.

He stopped and drew in a soft breath and steadied himself. He turned to Astra, "look i am sure its an important lesson. But I have my duties that must be tended to."
He moved his hand to rest in on her shoulder, but stopped suddenly. He realized his hand was shaking and then pulled it back.
"We can continue when I get back," he said softly. "We are not staying over night. It is just a day trip to view the Black Swan case. The Prime Minister is trying to build sympathy for his cauae."
He finally nodded, "tonight, I promises." He gave her a slight bow before turning and continue to walk away.

And he's got feelings for you, so he's torn because of that." She said. "I told him you don't know Reine and he can ask you and that is what you would tell him. He is afraid that if we are protecting Reine from the hunters, that it might lead down a path of you or I turning to the dark side and he would have to hunt you and the idea sends him spiraling into fear and pain. In short, he's dealing with a lot right now."

Astra smiled " Yes bit it can also disrupt are ability to interact with the force. We need to be balanced withing ourselves before we can bring balance to others" she said. She smiled again an looked to the direction Quinn went. " Quinn and I both have a problem with fear and grief. Nova also had a problem with Fear. I think it would do us all good to work on these issues and balance areselfs before continuing. Clouds and Breazes is very evasive in combat bit very gentle with the force living and working in harmony with it." She said she hoped she was remembering right and that she was making sense to Tesara.

We can meditate on the problems we are having and work on resolving them though that " she said. She smiled finding a spot to sit. " I did this with Nova some time ago but she still needs time to fully heal from what daze did to her" astra said with a smile.

Astra settled and started to clear her mind. " Take a few moment to Meditate before answering the question. Let's start with Root, Tesara what are you afraid of what scares you the most" Astra asked.

Tesara breathed deeply, settling into the meditation to ask herself the question. What DID scare her the most? She actually had to think on this one, the answer did not come easily. For her friends or family to be hurt and be helpless to stop it...that one came first. To never find love, and be loved in return. That was a strange one. Was that really a fear? Or just a sorrow of the future? She decided upon the first. "To have someone I love and care about to be hurt or killed and be helpless to stop it, or do anything about it." She said quietly.

"Why dose this scare you so much? Try not to get upset or emotional as you think about the qustion." Astra said. She stayed calm keeping her own mind clear in-case Tesara Became emotional. She would do this exercise on her own Later the point was to teach Tesara how to do this.

Tesara was accustomed to having emotions and cycling through them, and this was no different. She examined the why and thought about it for a moment. "The key word is helpless. That is a fear of mine. To be helpless."

Tesara smiled. “No, but I have been before when I was left alone in the jungle to die. I knew then I never wanted to feel that way again.”

Tesara hears the question and ponders it for a moment. "Well, I was 13 years old when he took me away from the village. It was terribly hot, and he left me there to die with no water or food. I stayed there, shaking for all of about 5 minutes after he left and then ran out of there in the opposite direction of the village. There was no way I was going to be demon food. But as the hours passed it became obvious that I might die anyway. The sun was merciless, and I had no water. I began to get delirious and was on the edge of passing out when Durro found me. So....I think I likely was helpless there for a little bit. But trapped, no. And honestly, I haven't felt helpless since. But having experienced it once, I would prefer to avoid it again." She smiles a little ruefully, even though her eyes are closed.
