Helping Hand on Olivan 9/19/21

The trip back to Olivan was a mixed bag for everyone on board. That is expect for Ryan who simple enjoyed his solitude on the flight deck of the yacht. He watched the swirling blue glow of hyperspace as his mind was under the complete effects of spice. His eyes wide with wonder as he just leaned back and enjoyed the ‘trip’. “You know,” he said softly….

“What,” the voice replied.

“Did you know, that if we take the letters of dog and spell it backwards it says God,” Ryan said slowly and softly.

Pfft, “that is utter rubbish. God is not some filthy mut,” the voice said harshly. “It only means that dogs want to be like God, but they can’t cause well their dogs…and everyone knows that dogs are filthy.”

Ryan looked over to the chair next to him, “wow bro…that is some harshness. Remember what I told you, no anger, no violence.”

The voice sighed, “you’re right. Sorry bro…a dog chased me up a tree one too many times.”

Just then the collision alarms started to sound and the lights on the control panels started to light up. A screen flashed red giving distance read outs and continued to update.

Ryan leaned forward and watched the lights, “ow…wow, bro….di do you see that…”

“yeah….wow….the lights…the sounds….” The voice said slowly.

The blue glow that washed over the flight deck grew darker as Ryan gazed out the main window, “are you seeing that….”

“yeah….wow……its like a big dick in space!”

Ryan busted out laughing, “SPACE DICK!” The shadow continued to grew larger and larger as the alarms shifted in tone to draw attention to the impending crisis. Ryan looked to the side, “its going to…” he snickered, “impregnate us!”

“bro! I am a dude…..” the voice said in shock and surprise.

Ryan turned back to the shadow, “nothing is impossible for SPACE DICK of HYPERSPACE!” he drew out his voice as if announcing it like one would announce a show.

Then suddenly it was gone, and the blue glow of the hyperspace wormhole returned to normal. The control panel silenced as the lights all went back to normal.

Ryan turned to the copilot’s chair and snickered, “I guess it didn’t like us….”

“or or…it sensed Tesara on board….”

Ryan nodded in complete understanding, “I guess there is something impossible for….

The two voices joined as they sounded, “SPACE DICK of HYPERSPACE!”

Ryan started to laugh but was cut short as the nav computer brought the Jupiter One out of Hyperspace. He frowned, “fuck, that was too short….” He got up and walked over to the hatch that led down the rest of the ship. He opened the hatch, “We have arrived!”

“Why aren’t you using the comms?”

Ryan turned and laughed, “right…” he walked over and hit the comms, “we have arrived…”

A new voice filled the flight deck, “yes, we know…we have you on our sensors.”

Looking completely surprised, “BRO…who is this and how did you get on board!?”

“What!” the voice said in confusion, “damnit, another spiced up pilot. You have your landing quadrants,” the voice said then added, “and keep the traffic on this channel clear.”

“So should we tell them about Space Dick!?”

Ryan turned, “what and let them think we are on spice or something?”

The Jupiter One landed right next to Durro’s shuttle and the party was able to off load the speeder and take Astra back to Master Palpatine. They were greeted by the old Master as they arrived.

"Hi Master Palpatine. Do you remember me? Some thing happened wail i was..." She said the trailed off looking to her left and glaring at seemingly no one. She returned her attention to Master Palpatine. " Master i need your help. You thought Lord sereno how to go to a place called the world of shadows" she said clear confusion in her voice.

Tesara stands behind Astra and slightly left.  She has been looking for Aman but has not seen her yet.  She watches Master Palpatine's face as he listens to Astra.

Master Palpatine walked over to the two women as they exited their land speeder, "I sensed that there was some concern and fear." He paused and listened to the ramblings of Astra, "oh course I remember you. The Realm of Shadows is a very dangerous place for someone like you Astra." He turned to Tesara, "welcome back child." He smiled fondly at the two women, "let us retire to the kitchen, I can get you some milk and see if I can whip you up something to eat as well."

Tesara quietly reached for Astra's hand and held it quietly while they followed him.  She didn't understand why, it just felt like the right thing to do.

"Please lets walk," he motioned them to follow him. As they walked towards the Manor, he continued,  "for those of us, whom fall victim to our emotions, there are parts of the Force that are very dangerous."

"Astra, you are the same today as you were the first time I met you," he said with fondness in his voice. "Please don't misunderstand, this is not a bad thing," he said softly then waved to a pair of trees. "No different then those two trees. Similar in many ways but different as well."

" yes master im well aware of how dangerous letting one's emotions control you can be," she said quietly. As she followed.

" master the first time you meet me I was a child. I'm an adult now with a child of my own," she said shaking her head. She thought to for a moment trying to decide how to explain what had happened. " master I did not try to go to the realm of shadows it just happened. I went to lantis on a rescue mission and well. I...umm..." She said trailing off as if struggling to peace the story together herself.

Tesara walked alongside Astra.  "If we had known that Lanus would affect her, we wouldn't have brought her.  When she landed, the visions came almost instantly.  They progressed through stages and Astra was able to tell me what she was seeing.  But then she..."  She frowned, looking for the right words.  "At some point the visions changed to be these Force beings....ghosts, I believe?  That are attached to her from being in the Shadow Realm.  Although I have no idea how she got there, but she did.  There are five of them with her at all times, each with a different need or demand."  She said, hoping Astra didn't mind that she filled him in a little more clearly.

He nodded, "I have a friend who can help up on this subject." He walked them in to the kitchen then motioned towards the table, "please, be seated," he said softly. Then he turned to one of the students in the kitchen, "could you please go fetch Knight Te...um...Sebatyne...." The young man bowed and ran off.

Master Palpatine walked over to the table and joined them, "I know what you want to believe, but I don't sense the Force in connection to this." He paused then corrected himself, "or shall I say, in the continuation of this problem." He smiled broadly at Astra, "can you please introduce us to your friends?"

Astra nodded and pointed to each individual in the room that she saw. " Jedi master Saba, Ashanti Kyi She is a sith, Lev Soore I'm not totally sure where he is from I think he is just afraid,  Kyki Im not totally sure where she is from her home circled a gas giant, and that is Ar'alani she wont tell me anything about who she is or where she is from i guess she was in her peoples Navy" Astra said.

Tesara watched him closely, curious.  If they could find out more information from these individuals Astra was seeing, it might be helpful.  The part of her that thought that warred with the other part of her mind that knew this was really unhealthy for Astra.

He frowned, "I was afraid of that." He then turned to Tesara, "you see, the Force is not at work here. There are no Force presence speaking through the fabrics of the Force." He turned back to Astra, "While I am sure that the why this happened was directly caused by the Will of the Force, I am not sure that it is what is holding you and your friends together."

" Ashanti I am not in danger Im a Jedi and will not fall to the dark side, will you please sit dowe a meditate or what ever it is Sith do to calm themselves down" she said an annoyed look on her face. she looks back to Master Palapanene ." If its not the force then what is it and how did this happen?"

Tesara had made the decision that this was not a place she wished to stay, but right now she was extremely grateful for Master Palpatine.  "If this isn't the Force, is it an attachment from the Shadow Realm?  Or should I say attachments.  What would be involved in extricating these ghosts from her?

He frowned and held up a hand for a moment, "please give me a moment," he said softly. Then shook his head, "Astra I sense no darkness within you." He paused a moment, "speak to this Ashanti, ask her why she believes that we would see darkness within you."

He then turned to Tesara, "the key may be within this sith girl that Astra speaks of."

Astra nodded she looked to Ashanti. " Ashanti why are you so convinced that they will see darkness within me." She said turning her to look at Ashanti. She took a deep breath. " Ashanti was jedi  with war and is very proud of the lives she has taken" Astra said then glared at Ashanti again. " Ok enough!" astra said.

She looked back at Master Palpanen. " I don't enjoy hearing about how she killed manny jedi" astra said quietly.

“Will you teach me to shadow walk to help her?”  Tesara asked him.  “I want to learn so I can help her, but others as well.”
Was this her path?  The Jedi path that she had turned away from, was this what she was meant to do?  She gently squeezed Astra’s hand and waited for him to reply.

He smiled fondly as he shook his head, "I have given my oath that would only teach those who have sworn their life to the Will of the Force."

He motioned to Astra, "much as the Realm of Shadows is dangerous for her, it is also dangerous for you. For you, Tesara, are still governed by your attachments and your connections to this existence."

Astra lisoned every now and then glaring at some one who decided to speak up. " Master are these five attached to me because I went to the realm of shadows. I don't even know how it happened. One minute I was on the com with tesara and the next im in the misty place talking to Sol" she said.

Master Palpatine sighed heavily, "the knowledge I have collected on the Realm of Shadows is vast, but not absolute."

He leaned back slightly as he turned to Tesara, "tell me something. If I were to teach you how to Mind Walk, how would this help your friend Astra? Or others for that matter?"

He then turned back to Astra, "how do we know that you require help in the first place."

He shook his head, "as I have said, I have no doubt this is a product of the Force. And if what you say is true, it very well might have happened for a reason."

He shifted his eyes between them, "you both are too focused on solving the problem rather then asking yourself why this has happened."

Tesara gave him an appreciative look.  “That is a very good question, master. My concern is for my friend. It will be difficult to go through her life surrounded by these ghosts constantly asking for her attention. That is why I sought to help her. However, there is no denying that these ghosts may be an invaluable source of information.”  She glanced at Astra, then back at him..  “As for learning the skills to mind walk, there may be others who are similarly afflicted that I could help.  Or other ways to heal suffering.  My mother was a healer. I would like to do the same, just in a different way.”

Astra shook her head and glared at Master's palpation. " why it happened I want to know how this happened." she growled in frustration. She took a deep breath forcing herself to calm down. " sol said not to change the flow of the force and so did Quinn. What is the flow of the force? " Astra said quietly.

She sits in her eyes. " I just want them to be quiet. Isent there any way to send them home that's what they want," she said putting her hand to her head.

He set there and listened carefully to both women speak. He held no facial expression or hint of disappointment or offense. He just listened calmly.

He turned to Tesara, "the desire to help is noble. Yet your emotions cause you to put this desire above what is best, what is the Will of the Force." He brought his finger up to his mouth and calmly thought for a moment before continuing. "Have you considered the larger harm you could cause if you were to help your friend. As you said, the information that these 'ghosts' hold could be invaluable. I ask you to look beyond that, what if these ghosts are meant to be part of her."

He then turned to Astra, "I don't know for certain what is at play. I am only suggesting that blindly rushing forward isn't the best approach."

He turned back to Tesara, "which is why I won't teach you this technique. Not till you learn to control your emotional attachments. Till you learn to stop and listen to the Will of the Force."

A tall Reptilian creature stepped in to the kitchen. If not for its Jedi Robes, one would mistake it for a predator.

"Ah," Master Palpatine said with pleasure. "Allow me to introduce you to Jesi Knight, Tesar Sebatyne, one of the foremost scholars on Mind Walking and the Realm of Shadows."

The tall creature nods her head, "this one is honored to meet you both." There was a distinct hissing sound as Tesar spoke.

Master Palpatine turned to her, "Knight Sebatyne, we have a problem that is right up your alley. Would you care to help us."

The tall Reptilian laughed with a hiss, "of course."

" for the love of... Saba what the hell. Ahhh if I could actually strangle you" Astra snapped in frustration. She turned her attention to Sebatyne. " It's nice to meet you. I'm padawan Astra and there's was an accident wail I was on lanis" she said quietly.

Tesar Sebatyne nodded, "this one," she said directing her statement to Astra, "should be more calm." She tapped the floor with her large tail. "Learn to listen then speak," she added.

Her voice changed to that strange language and had a very short conversation with Astra, or at least Astra's mouth. The shocked look in Astra's eyes was pretty revealing.

Tesar turned back to Palpatine, "Saba Sebatyne is a great legend to the people of this one. Lived long before the Great Extinction." She laughed with a hiss, "this one is of the family of Saba Sebatyne."

Palpatine nodded but looked confused, "I don't think I have ever heard you speak of this Great Extinction."

Tesara watched, fascinated.  She kept her hand gently on Astra’s shoulder, feeling the alarm and confusion and praying her presence was at least a little bit comforting.

" I was unaware the two of you were related. I'm still a bit aggravated with Saba for making me eat raw..."" She trailed off. Her face went pail and she put her hand too her mouth for a moment. The thought of eating raw meat making her want to throw up.

She shook her head. " What is the legend? And what is the great extinction. Did it have sumthing to do with the bug aliens throwing asteroid at the planets and the cave paintings?" She asked.

Knight Sebatyne shook her head, "no bug aliens."

"Saba Sebatyne was the first of our kind to escape and join the Jedi. That one fought hard to liberate our people from those who enslaved our people," Tesar Sebatyne explained.

"There were records discovered of Saba's crusade for her people. That was before the asteroid strike that render our world nearly lifeless. The race, the Pa'Kack, didn't survive the strike." She laughed making that hissing sound as she did, "we did."

She motioned to Astra, "you said you met them in the realm of shadows or where they died?"

Tesar nodded and opened her mouth to speak but Palpatine spoke up first. "It should be noted, my friend, that she was on Lanus when this happened."

Tesar's eyes widened, "Lanus?" She paused for a moment, "normally this one would say no. That this can't happen. But it clearly has."

She frowned, "this needs to mediate and search the Force first before speaking further on it."

She reached out with her clawed hand. With care she touched Astra's shoulder,"try to remain calm. Mediate if you can."

Astra stared at her wide-eyed for a moment. " If they will shut up long enough," she said quietly. Sage looked around as if working with her friends to be quiet.

She took a few deep breaths befor settling into meditation was she was told.

Tesara waited a moment, then removed her hand from Astra's shoulder and silently left the room to go outside.  Hopefully Astra would be able to do as Tesar Sebatyne asked.  The less people around her the better.  She was glad of the sun on her skin and a moment's peace to consider everything that had happened.

Tesar Sebatyne had been waiting for Tesara to leave the kitchen. Like any natural born predator, she used both shadows and line of sight to conceal her location. It wasn't out of any malicious intent, just part of her nature.

"That one," she said moving up behind Tesara, "has a rare gift." She had made little effort to conceal her approach  though, still she found human a bit jumpy. She made an effort not to seem so intimidating as she stood there.

Master Palpatine smiled to Astra, "I know it must feel hard if not impossible." He rested a reassuring hand on Astra's. "If anyone can find the answers you seek, it will be Tesar. She is very knowledgeable on such thing."

Tesara did jump a little but recognized the voice right away.  "Yes. she does.  It's sad that it is so terrifying for her.  She never knows when they will come on and sometimes doesn't even realize she is having a vision at all, it's so real for her."  She sighed quietly.

Tesar nodded, "This one sensed it too." She shook her head, "what I didn't sense is the different presences within the Force."

She motioned for Tesara to follow along. "This one has heard a story of a group of people who had come from a different universe where things are different."

She bobbed her head up and down as she walked and spoke, "when this one searches back through the Force. Even in the Realm of Shadows, there is a wound in the Force that seems to have occurred in the moment some claim this story took place."

"Others choose not to listen to This One, but This One believes that this wound was caused by those who came here."

She turned to Tesara, "This One has seen the wound in the Realm of Shadows. It reaches between Lanus and Baklid."

He smiled softly and kindly at her, "you need not feel lost little one. All you need do is trust in the Force to guide you."

He motioned with his hand, "the flow or current of the Force takes the large actions of the Galaxy and moves along the timeline. While we individuals have free domain over our own actions, Force Users like you and myself can see the true outcome of actions. We can see where the flow or current of the Force is taking us."

Tesara follows, listening.  She is confused at first then understands that Tesar is referring to herself in a way Tesara is not familiar with.  It doesn't take long to grasp it, however.  "Yes, that was myself, my former Jedi master and four other people.  We were escaping from a planet being destroyed and in the blast, I believe we were sent through a black hole to this time.  Many things are different here than they are where I am from."  She sighs.  "I don't know if there is a way to return there.  So I have made my life here rather than mourn for what could have been in another place and time."

She turned in surprise, "This One was unaware that you were the subject of such stories."

"This One was Mind Walking at the time it happened. This One saw a silver long ship with three engines ripping through the fabrics of the force," she explained.

"There was a great presence in the Force. A malicious mind at work pulling and yanking. Then This One saw the other ship. With three long wings, This One watched it tumble and crash on Lanus, and yours went to Baklid."

She nodded, "that is when This One first saw the Wound in the Force."

He nodded, "I do" he said simply. "Sol was a good man," Palpatine said softly. "I was so sad when he passed from this world. We were lesser for it," there was grief in his voice as he spoke.

Tesara is looking out over the land and the smaller hills beyond.  "Yes, we found that ship on Lanus when we were there.  There was a droid but the two pilots were dead.  The man...I think he was a doctor....we never found his body.  It's possible he survived but unlikely."  She was quiet a moment.  "The malicious mind you spoke of could have been the one that ordered Alderaan to be destroyed.  In our world, that is.  The Alderaan here is still intact, of course."

" He was amazing I miss him. He and I had a baby girl I named her Roza. We should have died with him master. Had we gone to the cathedral with him like we had planned " she said quietly.

She took a few deep to stop herself from crying. " Had it not been for my mother and Durro thel-thanis Roza and I would be with him now." she said quietly.

She nodded, "This One doesn't fully understand how the threads weave together, but This One can see them woven together in the Realm of Shadows."

She turned to face Tesara as Tesara gazed across the landscape, "This One has seen the coming swarm from beyond the stars. This One knows that you and your friends are linked to the swarm. But, This One doesn't know how."

He nodded, "yes, to loose some you love is very hard. " he fell silent and Astra sensed he was withholding something from her.

Changing subject he continued, "Durro is a good man. Torn between the man he was and the man he wants to be. He doesn't understand that building relationships isn't a bad thing as long as they don't dominate your actions."

" You hiding sumthing master what is it" she said a cold tone to her voice. The look on her face made it clear she was not dropping this one.

Tesara smiles faintly.  "I wish I knew how we are linked to it.  That way maybe I could heal the wound in the Force."  She turns to face Tesar Sebatyne.  "Do you have even the smallest idea of how to do that?  Heal the force of the wound we inadvertently caused?"

She shook her head, "This One know of no such means. Wounds in the Force heal over time. A very long time."

He shook his head, "there are some things Astra, that you cannot know. The fabric of the Force must not be changed." He frowned deeply, "Astra, Knight Sebatyne's peope were enslaved. Those who command the swarm made it possible for her people to become free."

He moved slightly in his chair and smiled to her as he spoke, "Astra, the galaxy is more than the sum of its parts. There are millions of races out there. Some waiting for the chance to grow. While there are others who have had their time in the light. The Swarm comes to do just that. Like kind farmers tending the fields of crops, they come to toil the soil so new life can grow. Think of how many races can be given a chance of survival and life. Would you deny them Astra?"

He showed no emotion nor any indication that he took offense to her Astra's comments. Instead, he only shook his head, "no Astra, billions will die. But again, think of who will survive. Races like Tesar's will have a new lease on life. This is the Will of the Force. You have seen it, you know this to be true. Why would you wish to deny the Will of the Force?"

Tesara once again waited to speak, her mind working over what Tesar had said.  “So it uses your attachments to lure you or trick you?  Why…to take your life?”  She seemed perplexed.  “If that’s the case, I can understand why you say not having attachments makes this….less dangerous?”  She once again turned to the calm landscape, a soft breeze lifting her hair.  “I don’t know the purpose of it.  Why risk it in the first place? What is the benefit of it?”  She sighed, tucking a strand behind her ear.

Tesar laughed, "the benefit is the danger. It is knowing. If you saw the death of someone you loved, could you stand by and do nothing about it?" Tesar shook her large head as she showed her large teeth behind her smile, "This One knows when, where This One will die. Tesara had heard this before, but was surprised to realize that she would not stop her own death if she was given that information.  But to stand by while someone she loved and cared about died when she could have prevented it, this was anathema to everything she was.  “Curious.”  She whispered, then turned to face Tesar.  “What do you believe about healers?”  Some distant part of her felt like it should be afraid of this creature, but she was not.

He set there, "as Force Users, we have the unique ability to see what the Will of the Force really is."

He smiled, "Astra, last night we gazed in to the fat past and saw the truth. We saw the end of all things and the rebirth of the Galaxy at large. Races who would have never had a chance given a chance to thrive."

He leaned forward a bit, "Astra I know you don't understand and you think this crazy, but consider this. If you come upon a nest where a baby bird is struggling to escape its egg, what do you do?"

He frowned deeply, "the desire to help is so strong. So we help the bird escape its egg. Only to do so will end up in the poor creatures death. If we do nothing, yes its possible the creature will still die. But it is also equally possible that it might survive as well."

His frown faded, "we are observing the death and rebirth of all that we know Astra. We may or may not survive, but life will begin a new."

Tesar let slip a soft hissing laugh, "healers are a good thing. And This One knows you might say but isn't healing a violation of the Will of the Force."

She motioned back to the manor, "within these walls are some very talented healers. We have all taken an oath to honor the Will of the Force regardless of out come."

She turned back to Tesara, "you are not bound by such an Oath, but This One is. If it is the Will of the Force that we help your friend, we will. If it is not, then we won't."

She frowned slightly, "This One does not judge you on acting on your free will. However, This One wonders how you will judge This One on exercising her own free will."

He didn't raise to the anger and emotional state as Astra had, he only lowered his head, "Astra, the Jedi were never meant to be protectors of anything."

He raised his eyes back to her, "you are the one who is lost. Lost in a galaxy filled with lies and false histories."

He let out a long sigh, "Astra, I know its hard to let go of your emotions and connections." He frowned once more, "but you must look beyond the coming death and destruction and see the regrowth of the forest. The galaxy needs this, like a forest needs the fires."

Tesara actually laughed, the sound was light and free, and for a moment she felt that way.  "Tesar, I would never judge you for exercising your free will!"  She smiled brightly at her.  "You have such a gift, and so much knowledge...I would love to be able to get to know you better.  And I hold zero judgment about what you choose to do or not do.  You have a gift and a path you are on and it's an honor to have met you.  I'm grateful for what you've told me, although I understand you are not going to teach me to mind walk, at least I have a better understanding of what it even is."

" I believe you are wrong. I'm the only force used to be born into my family in a thousand years. And you think I should do nothing with my abilitys." She shook her head.

" You know my master well im sure he told you more than enuff. Do you think I would stand by and do nothing and the galaxies burns" she asked him. She wanted to know why he was continuing this with her. Anyone else would have lost their temper by now.

"This One was concerned that you would not understand and there for wish to stop us from allowing the Will of the Force to takes its course," Tesar explained.

She tilted her head to the side, "This One wonders. How do you view Free Will over the Will of the Force. Which should be followed?"

Tesara's eyebrows raised, surprised.  "That's actually a really good question!  I've never thought about it before, actually."  She frowned, thinking.  "My immediate response is that the Will of the Force should be followed, but is that because that is what my master trained me to say and it is an automatic response?  Do I truly believe that?  Curious.  There have been many times where I did as I willed without stopping to even consider the will of the force.  Honestly, so many times, Durro would say trust in the force and remember your training, but did I ever really trust the force?  That would have meant stopping whatever I was doing to ask.  So often the times I needed to act it was in haste, and the idea of stopping to do that never even occurred to me."  She laughed a little, but it was slightly painful.  "See, you just taught me so much just by saying that.  I rush too much.  Everything happens so fast, I just react rather than taking a moment to breathe and center and reach out to the Force and ask its will be shown to me."  She brushed a hand over one braid, twirling it in her fingers, looking thoughtful.  "So the will of the force SHOULD be followed, of course.  But ones own will is hard to ignore when there are so many things happening at once.  That's a reminder to me to stop rushing."  She shakes her head.  "Amazing.  I never realized that I had been doing that.  Thank you."  She smiles at Tesar.  "You've given me a great gift of insight."

In the depths of Astra's mind she heard Saba, 'that is not what I said.'

As she reached out with the Force, she felt his own Force walls go up. But her surprise action had already seen something in his mind. A lone torch burning atop of a large tower. The sky, the stars and the world were obscured in this mental image.

"You don't understand what you are doing Astra," he said calmly. "You are acting based on your emotions and you are not following the Will of the Force."

He leaned forward, "child, be calm. Please be seated," he urged her.

"If the Force wills it, I am sure your daughter will survive," he added softly.

" I know Saba, but he doesn't not," she thought quietly.  She shut her eyes. Was she acting on emotions? She took several deep breaths. No, she was angry a little but she was more determined than anything. She took a few more deep breaths forcing herself to calm down.

" im not angry but I can not stand her and do nothing can't you see that," she asked finally sitting back down. She shut her eyes again.

" and why are you so determined to continue this conversation?  Anyone else would have called an end to the conversation or lost there temper by now" she said. She started at him a cerous exspretion on her face.

Her eyes narrowed, "it is why we allowed you to bring Astra to us. We saw her and what she represents," Tesar paused a moment then added "chaos."

"But to follow the current of the Force, she had to come here and learn the truth."

Tesar saw the question in Tesara’s eyes and answered it before it could be asked, "the coming Swarm, and what it means for the Galaxy. She has to know the truth. We saw this in the mists beyond Shadows."

Tesar smiled, "Astra, you and Durro are key. So we are here to help you along your journey."

He nodded, "your anger, frustration and fear are clear to sense." He fell silent for a moment before continuing. "Astra I am not determined to continue this conversation one moment beyond where it has to lead."

He drew in a deep breath, "you have seen your future and yet you don't know why it has ended that way. You seek answers, and I can offer you those answers if you wish," he explained.

"But you must be open minded to the possibility that we are right," he added as a condition.

She thought for a moment.  She did want to know why. She also know she was terrified that she would fail to protect Roza. She was not being truly mindful of her emotions. " Master im willing to consider what you say may be correct. You are right master I am afraid will fail to protect Roza," she said quietly.

Tesara nods at her.  "I have a sinking feeling that whatever is coming cannot be stopped, and now I am asking myself if it SHOULD be stopped.  Which is....terrifying."  She admitted, her voice hitching a little.  "Chaos.  Astra represents chaos?"  she frowned.  "She is emotional, yes, but chaos?"  She shakes her head.  "If you knew what she has been through in her life, what she has lost and what she will continue to lose...it would drive anyone a little mad.  "Grief.  Not chaos."

She smiled and motioned toward the window and Astra beyond, "the One that your friend speaks of is Saba. She was a great leader of our people. She broke her chains and fled to the Republic. There she joined the Jedi and they trained her."

"The enemy was well entrenched and the war vast. But then it all stopped. The records on This One's home world simple stopped. It was only twenty years ago did This One's people learn of the asteroid impact that ended nearly all life on This One's home world. There was a deep cave where writings were discovered. That is where the legend of Saba comes from."

Tesara considered this for a moment.  "If the will of the force is that I can ask questions of Saba through Astra, will you allow me to?"  She paused.  "Actually what I really need practice at is understanding the will of the force.  It's so....murky sometimes.  There's no clear answer on what it wants, only images and visions of what could be.  I do wish it was clearer."  She ran her finger over the warm grass, the scent wafting up to meet her.

There was only one vision that I had of my life that did not show her. I had become a jedi master and was picking up some kind of solgers for a war. They were like the one's Sol, Roza, and I encountered as children the ones that destroyed the ship. The order tried to cover it up saying it was a coolant leak. They were like those soldiers. I have no clue where or how old Roza was during that vision master" she said.

Tesara smiled a little at her new friend.  "I wish I had learned that sooner.  I think my master was good at what he did, but somewhere along the line, I think I might have thought the Force was one thing when it's many things."  She stretched her neck and then curled her spine, grateful of the sunlight and a little peace.  "So following the current sounds easier than perhaps I think it is.  My people were raised on the river.  We COULD swim upstream, but we were always fighting to do that.  It was much easier to lie gently in the water and allow it to carry you.  I imagine the current of the Force is similar.  For me, it will be learning the knack of understanding when I am following the current and when I am fighting it."

He helped her from the chair, "Tesara has her own path now. The others will tell her once she has completed that path."

He led her out of the kitchen and down the hall, "first you must understand that in the Realm of Shadows, time isn't the same as it is here. Attendants will care for us during our journey."

He led her to a large chamber with ten beds lining the center of the room. Young Padawans stood ready and soon helped Astra in to bed.

Palpatine smiled, "remember Astra, there is no life, there is only the Force."

He moved from his bed back over to her, "do you think I am up to no good," he asked softly. "This is where we Mind Walk," he said softly. "Each of these beds were meant for one person." He motioned to one with a large hole in the center of the bed and was clearly reinforced for a larger creature. "That one belongs to Tesar," he said softly. He took her hand and led her to her bed, "and this one was originally set up for someone named Atrill." He looked down in sadness, "she is not with us anymore."

Even those who are not able to feel or sense it.  Which means everyone has a destiny.”  She paused for a moment.  “Aman told me what she saw in the force. Her own death. She has come to a place of peace with it, knowing what part she has to play.  I feel as if I would do the same, but saying that is easier than actually doing it.”  She smiles.  “I have things I want to do. I want to be a healer and a mother. I want to feel joy and live.  But if the force wills that I die without having those experiences…” she sighs.  “Then that is what will happen.”

Palpatine frowned as he helped Astra up on to the bed, "I do not know if she lives or not," he said truthfully. "I would like to believe she lives, as she was a good friend of mine. But if the Force choose to take her, I accept that."

"Now, lay down," he said softly. Then added, "as for the Jedi Code, you are about to see how wrong the Jedi really are about the Force." His smile was friendly and his eyes held no hint of malice or ill intent. "You need to be comfortable for this journey."

Tesar nodded, "Aman has, as has This One. We all, who walk, have seen our own deaths." She bobbed her head up and down, "and we have all come to terms with the part we must play in the coming Swarm." She smiled, "we all want for many things, these are attachments to this life, this world. There is no Life, Tesara, there is only the Force."

She lowered her head slightly, "Each of us is part of the Living Force, it feels joy, and it lives within us all. We have learned to touch it, experience it, and see through its eyes." She frowned, "however, that was made more difficult when we lost Atrill Thel-Tanis."

Tesar nodded, "it was an unforeseen turn of events for us. We had expected her to return when the summons occurred. But she didn't." She thought for a moment, "This One never met her face to face, but has spoken with her often before the summons occurred. We had become friends and This One helped her along her training."

Tesar laughed once more, "that is not what a Seer's gift is within the Realm of Shadows. A Seer who Mind Walks can see in to the pool and the waters will clear for the Seer." She motioned to the sky, "like sending the clouds away."

The idea of being able to see clearly was an odd mix of fascination and to her shame, a pinch of jealousy.  She shook it off.  “I’m not sure Astra will agree to it.  Every time she has delved into something of this nature it has affected her deeply.”

Tesar nodded, "she will, for it is the Will of the Force." She smiled turning to Tesara, "remember what This One said, Astra had to come here and learn the truth. She has to learn it. It was the Will of the Force that answered our calls for aid."

She touched Tesara's hand, "you followed the Will of the Force by bringing her here to us."

Tesara once again was thoughtful, but confused.  “But  it was my decision to bring her here. I did not take time to center myself in the force for guidance before making that decision.  I was in a hurry to get her away from Lanus, and here was the first place I thought she would find someone who could help her.  How did I follow the will of the force without knowing it?”
