Tesara is meditating in her room after Hadaza left. Several things concern her and she is seeking the will of the Force.

Durro approaches the door and sounds the chime.
"Tesara? The others are leaving; what's the plan for today?"

Tesara senses Durro approaching and pulls herself to full consciousness. She stands and opens the door. “Hello, Durro. The same today as yesterday except we won’t have any actual translator. We must rely on hand gestures and white little Sy Bisti I have learned. It’s simply healing and giving comfort to those who are in pain.” She pulls her hair into a messy bun and checks that her talisman is safely around her neck. “I’m ready.” She says, smiling but looking a little apprehensive.

"Are you?" Durro asks simply. "You might look ready, but you don't feel ready."
This is the Durro she knew on Lanus; the Jedi Master, calm and unreadable. 'Like a rock in the river.' He had once told her, when asked about it. It is a stark contrast to the warm presence traveling with them since Dubrillion.
"You're going to need all your wits about you if you're going to spend the day healing; especially with the Force."

She sighs heavily. “I am worried about Astra and Hadaza, each for different reasons. And yet, my senses tell me there is nothing I can do about either situation. I have taught Hadaza as much as I am able right now, her skills are developing. There is a willfulness there that I recognize, but I do not know how to find the balance with it. And as for Astra, there is also nothing I can do about that whatsoever. Setting aside these worries is necessary and yet difficult.” She looks at him.

"Sounds like you already know the advice I'd give." Durro says with a slight smile. "I've taught you well. Perhaps you can clarify your specific worries on the way?"
He gestures towards the ship's exit, and begins walking that direction.

Tesara nods and follows him. “I fear that having tasted freedom, Ashanti will not return Astra to us. There is nothing we could do if she does. My friend will be lost forever.” She sounds as if there is a lump in her throat. “I also have no proof that Ashanti wouldn’t return Astra to us, so there is nothing to be done but wait.” She inhales deeply once outside the ship. “And as for Hadaza, I have come to the realization that it is necessary to set any ego aside that I may have regarding her being my student and acknowledge that I do not have the ability to fully train her on my own. She will be, as she has said, be a community project.”

"I see two issues plaguing you." Durro says, holding up two fingers. "I'll talk you through both, but I can only do one at a time." He smiles ruefully.
"Issue one; You're attachment to Astra and worry about her well-being. Issue two; your worry about yourself and your own adequacy. We'll start there, with 'issue two'."
As they walk down the ramp into the morning sunlight, Durro continues;
"Do you think yourself inadequate as Hadaza's teacher? Or maybe not Hadaza; do you think you can teach anyone? If someone Force-sensitive came to you and said; 'I'd like to learn the ways of the Force from you, Master Anerin' do you believe yourself up to the task? Why or why not?"

She chuckles softly. “Honestly when she asked me I stood there in shock for a full 30 seconds before I realized the weight of what she was requesting. I never finished my training as a Jedi Knight with you. How am I supposed to train someone in the ways of the force, when I don’t know them all myself? And yet she came to me. So I decided to train her in what I did know. I was open and honest with her and telling her that I was not, in fact, a master.” She turns and looks at him as they walk. “And yet she refers to me as such. So yes, there is a bit of imposter syndrome happening within me.”

"Congratulations, you now understood how I felt on Lanus all those years ago." Durro says with a grin. "I never finished my training either; I never took the trials nor was given the title of Jedi Knight. But you wanted to be a Jedi and thanks indirectly to my master, your village was without a fully-trained Yilsaana. You'll recall I told you the same thing you told Hadaza; 'I'm not a master, but I'll teach you what I know.' I had every intention of turning you over to a real Master if we ever got off Lanus. I understand exactly how you feel."
"So answer me this, my young former apprentice: Do you think I failed you as a teacher?"

Tesara gapes at him for a moment. She had forgotten how he had said the same thing to her. “No, of course not! Everything that you’ve taught me has stuck with me and I use it daily. It feels like I asked you to train me a hundred years ago.” She smiles, feeling better about it. “So that is one worry I can release to the wind.” She makes a gesture as if releasing a bird to flight.

"Not to mention; you have more than just the Jedi Arts in your skill set, and you've decided the Jedi path isn't for you. Though were we in the Jedi Order I know, I'd push for you taking the trials and becoming a Jedi Knight; for whatever that's worth."
"Issue one then. What happens if Ashanti refuses to relinquish control to Astra?"

The smile fades from her face. “What will I do? Mourn for my friend. I would feel as if I had failed her, and broken my vow. I swore to protect her. Ashanti seems like one of those people who would thrive in a fight against her to return Astra to us. Begging wouldn’t work. Kindness, love, reminders of what Astra cares about might bring her back. I don’t know.” She admits. @Durro Thel-Tanis

Durro muses for a moment, then answers slyly;
"No, you're avoiding the question. What do you do if Astra doesn't return? What do you do with the guilt, the anger, the sense of failure?"

Tesara snorts. “I’d start to doubt their sanity.” She sighs. “If Ashanti stays, I would not be cruel or disrespectful to her, but I don’t plan on befriending her.”

"Nothing." Durro says. "That's the point. Whatever happens next is beyond anyone's control. All is as the Force Wills it; accept that and let it go. Be sad if your friend is lost, but don't let the fear of that happening distract you now. Let the future handle itself."
"Who knows?" Durro says lightheartedly; "Astra could do us both credit and come out on top. Then all of your distracted worrying would have been for naught."
He sighs and adds;
"You're not the only one confused or concerned. She's my apprentice just as you once were. I care for her completely in that capacity; you are concerned as a friend, so imagine how it must feel to be concerned as a master, as the one who's responsible for her safety and training. I've had to remind myself of what I just reminded you of. It's out of my control; I must accept the Will of the Force and accept whatever comes next, no matter how I feel about it."

Tesara nods. “To discern the will of the force sometimes can be a lesson in quiet acceptance that it’s not going to give it to you. Sometimes what is required is just trust that what is happening is as it should be.”

"So, does that make you feel better? Do you think you can focus on the tasks ahead of us?"

“Yes. I’m hoping we can continue to ease the suffering. I know that my actions revealing force abilities to these people will cause ripples, and no one knows how far those will reach, but I couldn’t stand by when there was suffering happening and do nothing.”
They are approaching the tent where she and Astra were yesterday. she looks at him. “Thank you, Durro.” @Durro Thel-Tanis

"Now, let's get some magic hands going and some debts paid down!"

Walking through the refugee camp was a lesson in both control and empathy. The suffering of these people was clear and rippled through the Force. The emotions touched our two Jedi and their hearts.
Durro and Tesara started their journey towards the Aide Station on the far side of the Refugee camp.

Tesara looks concerned. "I don't speak it either other than what I have picked up, which is basically hello and goodbye and thank you." She frowns, looking around for anyone she recognizes from the day before that would know who she was and why she was there. "Seriously, I am going to take intense Sy-Bisti lessons from the professor when we're back in hyperspace."

"I plan on asking him too." Durro says. "I always knew your Yilsaani training included understanding language even if you can't speak it. I never really considered how useful that'd be until the Priloc and now here. Almost makes me wish I'd payed more attentions during your lessons." He gives a sad sort of smile.

“There were things that you trained me to do that the Yilsaani never did. And you never tried to sacrifice my life to appease some unknown demon.” She says mildly, still glancing around.

As they approach the station, Durro's comm goes off. Hadaza's voice comes through clearly;
"Durro, Tesara, the Professor's been stabbed! I think he's dying! You need to come right away!" She describes their location, and the line closes.
"Go help the Professor." Durro says, spinning on his heel. "I'm going back to the ship for medical supplies."
He takes off at a run, his speed enhanced by the Force. His voice drifts back to Tesara,
"I'll be there as fast as I can!"
