Answering a call

[Akirapryde]

He frowned deeply, "Duncan, I know what I am asking of you is a lot." He said softly and with a sense of humility, "what I am asking you, is a very difficult thing."

He leaned back in his chair, "the Vengeance has liberty to move about the region and wouldn't be suspected. I trust in your skill to ensure that you don't attract too much attention. But I have to warn you. Demaya has links to the Hunter Corps. Be careful what you share with her."

[Duncan_Starchaser]

Duncan nodded as he took in everything his old master told him. He studied the holographic image, tring to determine if he was being told the whole truth. He also wondered if this was something he could... or for that matter should do. "I'll need all the information you have on those I'm supposed to stop."

[Akirapryde]

He nodded, "of course, the identity of those within each team are in that data transfer. I can't tell you how important it is to stop them. I don't know if you can stop them without violence, but if you can. Once you secure them, I will send a ship to collect them. If you can't stop them without violence, I will understand."

He paused a moment, "you need to understand that no matter how this goes down, they are only Jedi doing what they think is an order from the Grand Council. Normally such orders would be countered by the Grand Council. Because I found this information while on the hunt of rouge members, I can not bring this to the Council. Those behind it will only go to grass and I will not be able to locate them. Or stop their next move."

He looked down, "I even thought of going to the Chancellor. But I know that she would use this information to further weaken our influence within the Senate. During a time of elections, that could tip the scales in her favor." He looked up once more, "there is no easy path forward on this. You are our only hope, Duncan."

[Duncan_Starchaser]

"It could have been worse Master." he said and then paused until he could see the questioning look on his former teacher's face. "You could have asked me to run for Chancelor."

[Akirapryde]

He laughed slightly, "the Grand Council was torn. Some floated the suggestion of me running for Chancellorship." He sighed heavily, "I don't feel the Force pulling me in that direction."

He paused once more, "do you have any further questions?"


(OOC: There is a name within these files that Duncan will notice and recognize. Jefsye Ivetuf, Human, Male, and long time training partner of Duncan's. He joined the Hunter a few years ago. Generally a good guy, but loyal to the Order.)

Duncan scanned the files and noticed a name from the past. Jefsye Ivetuf,  a long time training partner of Duncan's. "Master one of the names here is Jefsye. He's loyal to the Order. He wouldn't do anything to bring shame to it or could possibly harm it in anyway."

(OOC: Can Duncan sense motive on everything that Dooku is telling him? Roll of a 19)

(OOC: Good call. Your Sense Motive and a reflexive Empathy check (by taking ten) will get you that Grand Master Doily is deeply troubled by these events. He is not surprised that you caught the name. And he is being honest regarding what he told you.)

He nodded as his frown remained. "I know Duncan. There is not one name on that list isn't loyal to the order." He fell silent as he gazed down for a moment. Duncan could tell the internal struggle that he was facing. Dooku drew in a deep breath and slowly allowed it to escape his lips. He slowly rise his head up and gazed across space in to the holographic image of Duncan. "You may also discover the name of my nephew on that list. Though I have gone out of my way to ensure that our relationship didn't become public knowledge. He is a good man and deserved to be judged solely by his actions. Not who he is related to."

"Duncan this is not easy for me. I know what possible outcomes my actions here could bring. But the orders these groups have, are not legitimate. And there is nothing I can do to stop them. Not without exposing my hand to those really behind this."

[Duncan_Starchaser]

"Understood Master. The Vengance is currently waiting just outside of Fry space and many of my team are on leave. However I will personally take care of this, that way if things go wrong they can't be implicated if this should go wrong. I also ask that if anything does happen to me you assign my Padawan to Jedi Gadeon."

[Akirapryde]

He nodded, "I will make sure that Gadeon, whom is not a member of the Order will be allowed to complete your Padawan's training."

He paused a moment, "Duncan, before you decide to do this alone, you might wish to meditate on the matter. You are surrounded by good people. Draw in their advice also."

Duncan nodded his first instinct was always to protect those he considered friends. But that being said he had always intended to meditate and perhaps farsee in order to see what insights the Force may provide him. "Is there anything else Master?"
