Playing with Fire (Jackson & Rebecca In-Between)

RE: Playing with Fire (Jackson & Rebecca In-Between)
Kira turned her head hearing Rebecca approaching from behind. Seeing Rebecca like this always caused Kira concern. Rebecca had always loved pressing her luck with Paradox. It has been one of the constants of Rebecca. That and playing with fire. The runes across Rebecca’s exposed flesh glowed brightly as Rebecca walked up closer. The first time Rebecca was exposed to those runes, was when they were dealing with that snipper. Now, Rebecca seemed to be drawn by them and this was enough reason for concern.

Since that time, Kira had grown more and more worried for her sister. But now, there was something different about Rebecca. She was talking funny. Rebecca claimed that testing the limits of Paradox was for the good of the party, but Kira wondered if Paradox and its effects could be like a drug dragging Rebecca further down that rabbit whole. With a nod, Kira smiled brushing off her concerns. “Of course, Rebecca” Kira said trying hard to ignore the warning signs before her. “So I went out camping last night. While I was sitting at the campfire I was visited by that Arocka who I was waiting for.” Instead of facing the warning signs, Kira nodded and motioned for Rebecca to follow as the pair walked back towards the house.

Kira remained silent for a moment as she gathered her thoughts. “He seemed very observant and had been watching me very closely. He wanted to make sure I was speaking the truth. It felt like I was being tested the entire time we were talking. I learned that the elder werewolves have no honor and are very tricky. From my understanding they can manipulate and speak half-truths. If we still want to meet the werewolves, then we have to use caution. We were given a location of where we can continue our communication with the werewolves. However, there will be a trial that the entire Cabal will have to take part in. I have to speak with Richard before he meets with the werewolves. He needs to be careful what he says. We both know how he loves to play with words. I think this could be our largest concern when dealing with the werewolves.“
