Cabal Meeting

Richard sat in his room staring at an empty journal. He though about the leaders of the past and one thing they all had in common was that they kept journals. He figured if it was his time to step up and be a leader he would do the same. He wondered for a while about the people who might read them a 100 years from now, or if anyone would even want to. He allowed his mind to wonder, Mostly to stall having to actually write anything but eventually his minds had run though all the major scenarios and he was left staring at an empty page.

He didn't have much time to get his thoughts on paper. He had called a cabal meeting that would be starting soon. He wrote the date at the top of the page and started his entry below.

'What a strange feeling to finally consider myself a leader of a cabal. Recent events with the werewolves have inspired me to finally abandon my childhood and become a man who will take charge in the coming battles. I only hope that I am able to inspire the others. To convince them follow me into the darkness that has arrived on out doorstep. The lives of my group are all in danger and have been for sometime. However, I do not think I have ever bothered to fully consider the enemies we have made together. We must grow stronger and I must become smarter. Failing to do so will mean death for all of us. Today I hold my first cabal meeting as leader. There is no turning away from my responsibilities now. The cabal needs clearer direction, order, and structure. Today I will have to set ground rules for us to follow. It is different from what I have learned at the Free Council but it seems to be the consensus of everyone else to have a clear alpha. That has fallen to me for now. Lets hope the other will follow me"

Richard closed the book and tucked it under his pillow. Eventually, it might be worth finding a more secure location of the journal but for now it was empty and security was not an issue. He left his room and headed for the kitchen. Everyone else would be there soon.
