Late Afternoon: 11-13-0969

Durro emerges from his quarters after several hours of sleep and a brief meditation. He dons "grandmother's cloak" (((assuming that was a real thing and not part of the vision))) and heads to the Jupiter 1, looking for Ryan. Time to have the conversation that Ryan has no doubt been dreading.

Ryan was pretending to sleep when Durro climbed up on to the Flight deck of the Jupiter One. He was making loud snoring sounds in a poor attempt to sell the lie. As Durro finished climbing up the ladder, Ryan glanced at him with a single eye then closed it again. It was too plan of an attempt for Durro to miss.

Durro clears his throat loudly, and when the snoring continues, he uses his best "teacher voice" to say firmly;
"Ryan... we need to have a talk."

Ryan glanced up, "oh Durro!" he said trying to avoid direct eye contact. "Man its so late," he grumbled, "can you be a good Jedi and come back later?"

"It's late... in the afternoon." Durro says; all business. He gets right to the point. "What happened to Hope Medical Station?"
He holds up a hand before Ryan can answer.
"I know it was attacked and we brought the camp aboard. What happened to it after that? Why is the cargo hold currently empty?"
He lowers his voice to a slightly more threatening tone.
"I swear, you had better tell me you stashed it somewhere because if I hear you sold it and spent the money, then you will be indebted to me."

Ryan blinked in surprised and started to utter his rather pathetic lie about the hold not being emptied. His voice ticked up a view notches, "well um...." he swallowed hard and got his voice back to normal, "technically anything abandoned after a year is considered forfeit under interstellar law...." His voice trailed off though Durro could feel that there was more to be said on that technicality.

Durro raises an eyebrow.
"The station was not abandoned though; it was in storage. Waiting for an opportunity to be used, but we were always on the move. If you fail to go camping for over a year, is your camping equipment in your attic considered abandoned?"
He lifts his hand, and flexes his fingers.
"You have ten seconds to start talking; I would hate to have to take from you what you could so easily give willingly."

He leaned back in the chair as if trying to add a bit more space between him and the angry Jedi. "You know, you shouldn't allow your anger to get the better of you," he said nervously then added, "Master Jedi "

Durro grins, a predatory smile that hints potential enjoyment of what is to come.
"I'm not angry, Ryan. Not yet, anyway."
Small objects begin to gently levitate, including Ryan's invisible cat. At least, that is Durro's intention; the cat levitating.
"Come now Ryan, we're all friends here. Tell me, between friends: what happened to Hope Station?"
He adds, almost as an afterthought,
"If you tell me the truth, I promise not to get angry."

Ryan flinched as Durro smiled at him, "well," he said softly, eyes shifting about looking everywhere, but at Durro. "I needed the cargo space..." then his eyes grew wide with self assurance.

He turned back to Durro with a hint of confidence. "Yeah, I needed the cargo space. I have a second job you know."

He was going to trail off but under Durro gaze, he shifted uncomfortably. "And it wasn't like you were using it and they needed it," he added.

Durro puts on a theatrical angry look, and the floating objects jerk towards Ryan, before being yanked back; like angry dogs jerking an invisible chain, trying to get at him.
"The thruth, Ryan." He says darkly. "How much did you get for selling Hope Station, and who needed it so badly?"

Ryan let out a slight whimper as he crawled up the back of the chair, "you know anger is the path to the dark side......Mr Jedi....."

He yelp a bit, "you know I am handicap," he said desperately. "I have a severe courage deficiency...."

"I don't remember," he said truthfully. "But it was some refugee group in Europa," he said with fear in his voice.

The objects resume peacefully levitating and Durro's expression softens slightly. Slightly.
"Progress." He says, almost cheerfully. "How much did you make?"

He laughed, "I told you," he said still nervously. "I don't remember," his voice filled with nervous laughter. "I barely remember the group was in Europa."

"After all, you weren't using it," he tried to sound self-assured....tired and failed.

Durro slowly lifts his hand, until it appears he is reaching for the pilot.
"Perhaps I can help jog your spice-addled memory." He says menacingly.
The floating objects become agitated again, as if trying to hurl themselves at Ryan, but restrained by an invisible force.

Ryan squirm, "its true! You weren't using them"

He moved in the chair moving away from Durro’s hand. His eyes locked on to Durro’s hand. "And I really really really needed the cargo space," he started blabbering.

"I would never lie to you," he said truthfully. Well at least in this momemt.

Durro sighs an exaggerated sigh. Of course he would never actually hurt Ryan, he also knows Ryan is 'courage deficient' and that intimidation is the fastest way to cut through his attempts at subterfuge. He drops his hand, the levitating items all drop back into their places and the tension he had been carefully nurturing in the room vanishes, like air out of an airlock. Not that violent decompression is ever pleasant...
"Oh, Ryan..." he says remorsefully, with a wistful smile. "I was hoping to keep this between us, between friends... ...but you leave me no choice. I'm going to have to take this to... The Boss Lady."
He smiles, a gesture of pity to a doomed creature, and turns to descend the ladder from the flight deck...

Ryan eyed Durro with a nervous eye for a moment. Then watched Durro back up, and watches him smile.

"Well.....well....friends don't try to attack friends with their magic invisible powers," Ryan cried out. "Friends also don't leave cargo holds packed and unusable....."

He frowned then added, "I have a habit to pay for!"

When Ryan was sure Durro was out of the area, he pulled his comlink and typed.

OMG Durro is on a rampage and is coming after you! He is mad over those stupid boxes I sold.... I am pretty sure I sold them....didn't I?

He leaned back in his chair and erased the sent msg leaving no trace on his comlink. Then put it away. He pulled out his spice injector and gave himself a long hit.

Ryan leaned back in his chair and smiled as he relaxed, "stupid Jedi......" his voice trailed off as he enjoyed his latest trip.

Upon leaving the Jupiter 1, Durro pulls out his comlink and sends a message to Ava:

[We need to talk; can we meet somewhere? Anywhere is fine, but it's personal and urgent.]

He continues into the palace, stopping servants and other personnel until he finds someone who tells him where Ava can be found.

Ava was just settling down for the late evening enjoying a glass of wine. When she received Durro's text message. ' we can meet in the meeting room.. ' telling him which room was that. As she took a few minutes to finish her glass of wine. Than messaged Zara Eady to meet her in the meeting room as well. Having a feeling she would be needed as she and Ms. Eady meet up and entered the room sitting down at the table waiting for durro to enter. The room wasn't hard to miss since it was the one that now had gaurds station outside of it.

The guards usher Durro through as he approaches, still wearing his cloak with hood up. The door hisses open and then closed behind him as he enters. He takes in his surroundings in a moment and bows respectfully.
"Lady Forma." gesturing towards Zara he says; "I don't believe we've been introduced?"

"It's come to my attention that Ryan sold the supplies that make up Hope Medical Station. Those supplies were not his to sell, and he won't tell me who he sold them to or for how much. I feel I know why the supplies were sold; it's an ongoing issue that I would like to see addressed, and compensation be made for those things sold that should not have been."

Ava lean back as she listened " I see, and why do you believe that these supplies were sold? " knowing how sometimes Ryan can have bad trips as well the Jupiter one being lost for awhile.

"Because I asked, and he told me." Durro says simply. He gives a slight, conspiratorial smile and adds; "Heavens help us if our enemies ever capture Ryan." The smile vanishes as Durro continues, "He claims he sold them to a group in Europa, but says he doesn't remember who or when. Also won't tell me how much he made. Though I have the inventory from when the station was loaded; I am sure a fair value can be calculated."

Ms. Leaned forward with her hand out stretched, "I will review your inventory." Her voice leveled and calm, clearly a woman of professional background.

In the Force, she radiated confidence and loyalty to SunCo. "I will verify any calculations," she added.

"I don't have calculations, yet." Durro says, pulling out his datapad. "If you have a transfer key, I can send you the list provided me when I took possession of the camp."
Glancing over the list, he is grateful that the knowledge the Jedi had collected as 'payment' was never in the cargo bay; instead being transcribed by Nova. The crates were in her quarters when he retrieved her medkits, so he knows they are safe; as are the tomes he was studying.

(((OOC, I never had a complete inventory of the camp. I have in my sparse notes to ask Traveler for it, but I never did. Realistically, Durro would have a list given him from when the camp was loaded; as it would have to have been packed and then put in the ship. Since Datapads are like RL tablets, I am sure the file can be sent; no need for a physical exchange of datapads. lol)))

Ava's eyes widen with surprise "Master Jedi, I had no idea you had  developed an attachment to such a material items." Allowing her eyes to maintain their wide appearance, she continued. "Master, I am sure you know of the dangers of attachments."

She placed a finger over her lip and allowed her face to show that of thoughtfulness, "maybe removing such temptations from your life was a good thing."

Ava shrugged, "but no, I can claim no such foresight. I was informed by Ryan that the cargo space was required. I made the call to clear out the items we were no longer using. The entire cargo bay was cleared so that Ryan could make a series of large volume cargo runs for our friends in Europa."

Durro's eyes narrow at Ava.
"Don't patronize me, Ava Forma." He says in a low, warning tone. "Those items were not yours or Ryan's to sell; if you needed the cargo space you should have informed me, so that I could make other arrangements, or made storage arrangements yourself. As it stands I had plans for Hope Medical Station, to honor the mission of the Jedi who ran it before."
He looks at Ms. Eady.
"I will look for your assessment of the value of Hope Medical Station and the supplies that comprised it. Once a fair value has been agreed upon, I expect compensation to be made."
Turning to leave, he adds as almost an afterthought;
"I thought you different, Lady Forma. Whatever the real reason you sold the station, I would hope I have enough of your respect, if not your friendship, to be told your reasons. If not..."
He leaves the statement unfinished.

Ava brings her hands up and enlace her fingers as she watches him, "friends don't take such tones with each other, Master Jedi."

She gazed at him with no change in her polite tone, "let me remind you, you weren't the only one who found Hope Station. Furthermore, I have always ensured that both Ryan and myself, and now all my resources have been and will always be at your disposal."

She leaned back, "unless we are no longer, friends Master Jedi,"

"How very... Imperial of you." Durro replies. "Everything belongs to you, but don't worry because you're generous. I've seen your type before, and as I said I thought you were different. Turns out a week with Lady Loran and the promise of power with SunCo was enough to remind you of who you really are."
Durro continues to leave, but stops in the open door.
"I asked Queen Lenora for permission to move Hope Medical Station and continue its work. She graciously allowed me to do so. Ask Nova about it; she delivered Her Majesty's reply to me. The Station was not yours to sell."
"...I've also noticed, you failed to tell me what you did with the credits."
With that, the Jedi departs, the door hissing closed behind him.

Out in the hall, he takes out his comlink and sends Tesara a message.
["Where are you? Could I join you? I have a few questions about the the times I've been away."]

As Durro walks around to find Tesara and wait for her message back, he can see Nova walking out of a room and heading a direction. She was speaking to herself, "Will you be quiet already? I know about the dead, you don't have to keep reminding me." She hadn't noticed Durro.

Ava set there and watched silently as the door closed behind Durro. Her lips curled in to a slight smile. "How very unJedi like of you, Master Jedi," she mumbled softly.

She turned to Eady, "I want you to track do any and all equipment associated with Hope Station. Secure it and have it moved to the Ranch.

"Oh hello Durro. I was speaking to the voices that are lovingly telling me what I did wrong." She softly smiled at him as if it was nothing. "Oh and don't be like Tesara and freak out about it being like the dark side. It is just my trauma of my past wanting to haunt me."

This would be the second time Durro has ever seen Nova in a dress. Normally it is pants and straight black but Nova was wearing a blue striped dress.

Durro falls into step beside Nova and gives her a warm smile.
"Admittedly, that doesn't sound good. My instinct is to offer to help. However; you've been learning how to meditate from Tesara and I for a year now, so you already have most of the tools I would offer to teach you. Not everything can be 'fixed', sometimes we just have to learn to live with something. Though if you ever do want help with anything, you know you need only ask."
After a few steps in silence, Durro asks;
"Where are you headed? It's not often I see you so... colorful." He smiles.

Nova continued her walk as she listened to Durro. She stayed quiet before hearing him ask. "Well back to Ava's room since technically I am suppose to be resting. However, I wanted to make sure lunch was made before Tesara finally had left." She then looked at him. "I heard from Tesara that you went into the mountains, find anything interesting? Was the view pretty? Was there a group of people up there?"

Ava watches Eady leave then gets up and walked to the door and leave the meeting room. She walks in to her personal office. She calmly walks over to the bar and picks up a large bottle of wine, and a glass. Then heads to her desk.

She sits down with a soft smile on her face. She pulled her comlink and set it neatly to her right. Then took her crono from her pocket and set it to her left.

She then set a thirty minute count down on her crono and started it.

She then poured herself a glass a wine. Leaning back in her large fine leather chair, she took a short sip as she watched the crono continue to count down.

"I was in the mountains, and it was very interesting. I discovered the remains of an ancient culture; one older than I think any culture currently known to xenoarchaeologists. A fascinating place, though I wonder what, if anything, would be there if I tried to return. As for the view; you can almost see Rotterdam from where I was; when the air was clear and there was no snowfall, you could see for kilometers into the distance."
He pauses for a moment and sighs.
"There was a village, but I believe my interactions with them were not... of this world. When I 'came to' after my experiences; the village appeared to have been abandoned for some time. I wonder when that happened, and what happened? I'll likely never know."
Another pause, then.
"I'll let you rest; you've had a busy past few days. I should be resting too, truthfully."
He turns as if to leave, then stops.
"Perhaps you'd know: When did Ryan sell Hope Medical Station, and who did he sell it to? I've been investigating what happened to the medical equipment that would have been useful over the last two days."

Nova listened happy he was telling her stuff again. She then saw him stop so she stopped as well. "Well I am not sure exactly when it was sold however Ava was very upset when Ryan had sold the medical droid with the stuff. However Durro, did anyone, other than us, know that you were given that? I think it is another case of Ossus where we don't tell each other anything until it is too late and the deed was already done." She watched him.

(((OOC, I was looking for the moment Nova gave Durro the Queen's reply; I thought it was done via text. I could not find it, so I suppose it was done in-game. I thought the entire group was present for the message and the gift, but I cannot be sure. I could not find the moment in text.)))

Durro looks thoughtful for a long moment, as if focusing on some small detail.
"All I remember is you informing me of the Queen's message, and giving me the book of poetry." He smiles at the memory. "I don't know who knew that the Queen had given it to me. That's not the point though; even if Ava makes the case that the camp belonged to us all, then where is my share of the credits? Did Tesara get a cut? Did you? What did Ryan actually do with the credits? I can guess, but I want an honest answer."
He speaks quietly, more to himself than Nova, but she can still hear.
"Though that doesn't explain her condescending behavior; speaking just like Lady Loran. Both her story and Ryan's don't add up. Ryan says he needed the cargo space and money, but Ava says she gave the go-ahead."
Directly to Nova he asks;
"Did Ava need a lot of money recently? Money that even her substantial Imperial trust-fund would lack?"

Tesara settles herself into the shuttle with a sigh and looks at her messages on her commlink.  "Where are you? Could I join you? I have a few questions about the the times I've been away."
Frowning, she texts back.  "I am just leaving the Royal Jail, I'm on my way back to the summer palace.  Is everything okay?"

Nova listened to Durro as he spoke, she was slowly frowning as he spoke more about Ava in a horrible manner. "Durro. Don't speak of Ava like that, you are in this summer palace without having to hide nor worry about people after you because of her. Yes I know when she got a lot of money, however does it even matter?"

She then motioned to the area around them, "We should be thankful for being here and safe, you should be thankful that she even sent Ryan to fetch you from the mountains. Without her, you would of died on Alderaan." She said pointing at him.

She then closed her eyes and shook her head before looking at him again, "I am sorry that your precious gift from the Queen is gone, but were you ever going to use it? Do you even know how long it takes to set it up? If you put it up then who would you have helped? Quinn is alive because of you, if you had spent your time setting up the tents and the droids, he would be dead and you would have had Lady Astra turn into a darksider over grief and despair, his father would of probably died trying to save his son and you would of had another person added to your so called death list that  people are pinning on you."

She then slowly shook her head at him, "You are welcome for all you have had given to you, Ava has risked a lot to keep you safe. This is the gratitude you give her, over a few stupid tents, droid, and credits? I am glad I am not your Padawan if this is how you treat people." She then begins to walk away. "And for your record. No I haven't seen a single credit ever since we entered this forsaken universe, I used the last of the credits I have ever owned on my train ride that ended horribly. If anything you all owe me for getting you your forsaken information from the holo-net."

Durro opens his mouth to reply but stops. He sighs, and takes a deep breath before trotting after Nova. Catching up, he slows to match her pace and says softly,
"Nova, I'm sorry. You're right, Ava has done a lot for all of us. I do appreciate the research you've done for me and for the others. Thank you, truly. You are an amazing young woman with remarkable talents. Together, you and Ava will go far."
His comm beeps and he glances at the message.
"I'll let you get some rest. I should probably do the same. Send Lady Forma my apologies."

Once he and Nova are away from each other, he replies to Tesara's messgae:
["Everything is fine, I just wanted to talk. Come meditate with me in the gardens when you arrive. The weather is quite lovely."]

Nova slightly flinched when Durro caught up with her, she was back on defense around him. She listened before biding him a good night and returning back to Ava's room.

Tesara arrives and heads for the gardens.  The swing is fairly deep into the garden but she continues on, not running into anyone.  No sign of Ava or Nova, Vinh or any of the other servants.  It is likely she will see them later when she goes to find Sanja.

As Tesara approaches the swing, she sees her master nearby, deep in meditation. He is levitating slightly above the rock he had been sitting on, legs crossed and hands resting on his knees. His cloak hangs over a branch nearby.
"Tesara, welcome back." she hears in her mind. "Come, sit and join me."

Tesara sits nearby, closing her eyes and slowing her breathing, centering herself in the Force.  It does not take long before she slips into the familiar sensation of meditation.  She has done this as his padawan hundreds of times.

Still in her head, she hears her Master; she can feel his annoyance, small and insignificant, but there. Beneath the annoyance is something else. Concern? Apprehension? She hears Lady Loran's condescending laugh, laughed from a few different throats, the clinking of glasses, and the music of a fancy orchestral band.

"I see." His disappointment radiates between them. "The Station was gone from the cargo hold when I went to power on the medical droid during the rescue operations. I have done some investigating, but nobody will tell me anything. Ryan says he needed the money and the space, Ava says she made the decision, Nova says I am being ungrateful for Ava's help and protection, and nobody will tell me what the money was spent on. I was hoping you knew and could tell me."
There is silence, broken only by the band playing a slow waltz.
"Did Ava need a lot of money quickly while I was away? If so, where and how did she get it?"

There is a long pause as Tesara ponders these questions.  It is unusual for him to be this unsettled.  Unfortunately I don’t have answers for you. If Ryan sold them, it’s likely Ava is aware because he is her employee. She is well aware of his addiction. It’s not information that I have.  I was unaware until you told me that the hope medical station along with the droid were gone.  As far as Ava‘s money situation, I don’t know, I do know what she is trying to do for Baklid and trying to raise money to help those in need. She is working on a charity event. I’m not sure if it will happen with everything going on right now and the war escalating out of control. I don’t think that Ava is hurting for money but neither do I think she is rich.  Honestly it’s not something I have given much thought of.  She has been very generous with me the few times that I have needed money. But then again, I am living here in this palace under her roof as a kindness to me. I do not pay rent.

"Here are the facts I have. When I was captured at the Summer Palace by Sha Koon, Ava was a young noble who had turned her back on the high life and was focused on helping people. She was idealistic, and becoming a dab hand with a sword." there is a twinge of pride in the air, a master pleased with his student. "When I next met up with you all, you were at a swanky resort, Ava had a complete makeover and was living the high life again. That had to cost a lot; where did she get the credits? Tesara frowns, and thee sensation is palpable in the Force.  I know Ava isn’t like that, but she does have to be very careful in keeping up a Core facade. Lady Loran believed it else we wouldn’t be here. The other night she invited me to sit with her at a dinner with Senator Noor.  What a wretched little man he was. He said some awful things and when Ava and I were able to have a private moment she agreed he was a terrible person.  But Durro, I cannot speak to money and Ava. I am not withholding anything from you.  I honestly don’t know. I know her executive team handles a great deal in terms of running SunCo. It’s Lady Loran’s company but she gave Ava free rein here.  I am not sure why she acted the way you say. Was she alone?

She glances back at him, motions a thanks with her hands ? and gets ip quietly.  Before leaving she speaks out loud.  “Remember, don’t go in too far.”  She smiles and steps away.

I visited the Royal jail today only to discover that there was no record whatsoever of cricket either under that name or her legal one. I must speak to her mother first before going anywhere. I will need to pack a bag and can likely leave within a few hours. Will that suffice or do you need more time?

He sighs, then smiles.
"You want to hear about my trip to the mountains? It was cold." he says with a laugh. "I've not been that cold since my trip to Ilum, to find my lightsaber crystal." His smile fades. "That was... that was a long time ago."
After a contemplative moment, he shakes his head. "What exactly did you want to know?"

"Yes, I know." Durro says with a smile. "The bond you two share is strong; I've sensed it from the first moment I came aboard. What you have is special, and you're right to defend it. Ava is lucky to have you, and you're lucky to have Ava. As I said before; together, you two can do anything you set your minds to."
After hearing her question he answers;
"It's odd. I came across what I thought was a normal village. I met their Speaker, stayed with a family for a night or two. When everything was finished though, I woke up in the ruins of one of their homes; it was evident it had been abandoned for quite some time."
He smiles at Nova and adds;
"Even if it was all a vision; that doesn't make the experience any less real. The world of the spirits is often one mortals can't see or touch."
"I'm still a bit confused by what I saw. One thing stuck with me though; something big is coming. I was shown how it looked in the Force just before the Jedi were destroyed. The Force here, now, looks the same way. It's impossible for me to explain to someone who's not a Force-user, but something big is coming. Something that will change everything for everyone. I just hope we're all ready when whatever is coming comes."

Nova listened to Durro's story and about the big thing that was coming. "You can explain it and I might be able help? Sometimes a non force user's view can be for the better." She said with a sweet smile. "A second set of eyes, or a fresh set of eyes, on something is always a good thing, I told the Investigator Jeb Marshall the same thing. He had been researching the Black Swan and didn't realize he missed something crucial." She then thought for a moment, "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." Seems she was quoting something. "But if you aren't sure if you can explain your vision to me, a non-force user, then we can go catch Tesara and talk about it."

Durro looks at Nova with a smile.
"Finding Tesara is a good idea, but she was just here and left on other business. I can catch her up later."
Durro proceeds to tell Nova about the ancient school, the animal/human students, and about how the Force pulls taut, like a strained cable, just before disaster. Then, when the destruction comes, the stress vanishes and the Force is normal again. He uses the example of the Jedi and the Empire, how he was shown the Force pulled taut by the Clone Wars, then relaxed after the destruction of the Jedi.
"I feel the same strain here." Durro concludes heavily. "The Force is pulled taut, stressed. We are on the brink, and based on warnings I've received I believe these Jedi may be on the brink of destruction. The question is, can I even do anything about it? And if I have the ability, should I?"

"Well the question is if it is going to be like the past, would you want everyone to survive? Tesara, you, Reine, Astra and baby Roza? Warning someone that danger is coming will help us. It helped out at the resort, correct? Didn't Lysire say that she saw a lot of us die but that didn't come true because we were informed?" She gave a shrug, "I know you have said that if we takes steps to try to avoid it, it just makes us get there faster... Or something like that anyway." She rubbed the back of her head knowing she screwed some of that quote up. "Use your vision, let it help us all be safe so that we can help those after us. Be it a yell or a whisper, anything is better than being silent. I should know that from experience from all the times I could of kept us safe if I spoke."

He looks at Nova with a kind look.
"Just goes to show, the Jedi don't have a monopoly on wisdom."
He puts his hands together and bows his head.
"Thank you, Master Nova."
He grins broadly at her and stands.
"Come. We should gather the others and warn them. Perhaps then we can survive the coming night."

She thought for a moment, "We can probably update Astra while she is at the Jedi Temple threw comlink and she might get Jedi to help with your vision."

She pulled out her comlink, "Let me inform Ava to gather for a meeting."
