RE: Act One, Scene Three
This post has been made with Akirapryde playing Dr. Vanleare.

Dr. McCoy looked impassive as The Gul made his final outburst.

She held it together even through the attack on the Klingon.

It was when The Gul made his move to do harm to her friend that McCoy started to move. As the Vulcan, V’rol, silenced The Gul and nodded to her Dr. McCoy ran out after Dr. Vanlaere. She had just started to work in getting her friend and comrade to be more open. This conversation was the last thing that Dr. Vanlaere needed.

Pushing the door open to the guarded hall, Dr. McCoy found Dr. Vanlaere slumped up against the wall with her eyes closed and clearly fighting to calm her racing pulse.

“Leana,” Erica walks over carefully and making deliberate noises to not startle her friend. “Leana, I am so sorry you had to be pulled into that nightmare. I wanted to thank you for being strong in being forced to watch that.

Leana nods “yeah, but I wouldn't say strong.” She said shaking. “I don’t think I can do this. Not again.”

Leaning against the wall next to Leana knowing exactly what she was talking about and knowing it is not the time open that can of worms here, Erica asks, “Why didn't the sedative work?”

Leana looked at the hypo in her hand and sighed heavily. “Because it wasn't a sedative.” She said handing a full sample container to her friend.

Staring at the hypo, Erica looked up to her friend, “My friend you could have been killed, no wonder The Gul went off the deep end after you did that. I thank you again for what you have risked to obtain this.”

She nodded as she looked at the hypo. “Can I confide in you,” She said with a hint of sadness in her voice. “I am going to ask the Captain to leave me behind. I can’t do this. I thought I could but I can’t. I am sorry.”

Erica had felt this was inevitable after the confrontation in the room. “You can always talk to me and know that unless asked by you no one will know what was said. Taking the doctors hands in hers, “Leana, you have nothing to be sorry for. Nothing. You are a very strong woman. Not many would have held up as you have since those days. The Captain will understand. One day, once the past is no longer a fresh factor in your head and heart return to us here. I will make sure you are received with open arms.” With that Erica hugs Leana knowing she will not be seeing her for some time to come
