Dr. Bell seemed to be grasping at explaining to the Captain. Dr. McCoy smiled to him gently.

Bolstered by Dr. McCoy, Dr. Bell took a deep breath.

"I believe I already explained that." He looks confused for a moment but continuing on. "To the first question, nothing in Fleet database or any of the ones that owed me favors matched the genome sequence. To the following question, the unknown subject doing what they did to push that genome on multiple people at different times...That goes beyond what we as doctors should be doing to our patients. Especially ones that can't say no to what we do to them."
