Sister, Sister.....

RE: Sister, Sister.....
Kira reached across the bed and placed a hand on Rebecca's leg. Their eyes met as Kira smiled. Kira remembered how much she tended to look up to her friend. When it came to loyalty, Kira never met anyone like Rebecca before. Rebecca was the kind of friend that inspired a person to be better. Kira gave Rebecca a reassuring nod and whispered, "I will have your back."

RE: Sister, Sister.....
Kira looked a bit confused at the computer. She knew that computer all too well. It was given to Rebecca by her father so that she could remain in contact with those back home. It was protected against spies and those who would sabotage the data within it. "what are you doing there?"

"I am sending my report back home," Rebecca said as she turned the computer so that Kira could see the screen. "Do you mind reading it and letting me know what you think?"

RE: Sister, Sister.....
Kira read the report which Rebecca had created and laughed, "Did you have to include that you shot yourself?"

RE: Sister, Sister.....
"I wanted to keep it as complete and honest as possible. Even when I screw up," Rebecca laughed at the question as she answered. She turned the computer back towards herself. Always the scholar, as sense of seriousness washed over her. "By making them as complete and honest as possible. My reports will be taken for what they are. Accounts for historical reference should we fail in our duty to our Order." She thought for a moment before adding, "I also want our actions exposed so that in the future history will be able to tell our story correctly."

RE: Sister, Sister.....
As Kira thought back to the report she couldn't help but think about the encounter with the creature in the lake and why Rebecca had jumped into the lake. Rebecca had long desired to find that one special teacher. It was a quest that Rebecca never seemed to have any luck on. For the years that the pair has been together, Kira knew all too well of Rebecca's struggle to understand and bend magic to her own will. It seemed more like a struggle between the will of magic and Rebecca's own will. A struggle that Rebecca only recently started to make some headway on.

In that, she thought of her own struggle with Magic, "I am looking for someone to teach me as well. I thought I was getting stronger in my knowledge of Magic. But as we spend more time with the others. Am starting to feel am not strong enough to protect myself against the creatures we have encounter, like meatball." She paused for a moment as the next thought brought her to concern. "Now we have to protect ourselves against our own Cabal. I know Richard said he wouldn't use any magic on us anymore. I wonder if he would truly keep his word. Or worse yet, would he deny us the benefit of his help when on missions?"

RE: Sister, Sister.....
Rebecca's hands moved over her lap top and saved her work. Kira's words weighted heavily of her. It was clear by Rebecca's face that those words spoke a truth between them. Rebecca reached down and pulled out a small metal cross from the speaker port of her lap top. The port was fake meant to throw off all but the most knowledgeable computer geeks. Deep inside the computer, were programs and hardware meant for making reports possible without violating the Lex Magica. The Lex Magica is the center of one of Rebecca's core beliefs, taught to her by her Order who upholds the Lex Magica through a marriage in technology and magic. This was why her report was written in Atlantean, but encrypted to keep other orders from learning what the Silver Ladder was doing.

By removing the cross, her report would not be found anywhere on her lap top. Instead it was encrypted once more on the metal cross which in truth was a modified data storage device. Rebecca thought long and hard about what Kira had said. Her eyes fell upon the little cross in her hand as she thought back on what happened during the past few days. Rebecca felt the same level of helplessness when dealing with the creature then later when dealing with Richard. "I think we have a way of protecting ourselves," Rebecca said as she plugged the cross in to her phone and uploaded the report in to her phone. Now the report would be encrypted once more by her phone and set up to transmit back to her Order once the phone had a signal. At this point, Rebecca had no control over what would happen to the report. Once the phone had a signal, it would send the report to the Lone Star Silver Ladder. Even if she wanted to edit the report should couldn't. Only the mages back home could decrypted the report and read it. Rebecca turned to Kira, "well at least against other mages that is."

With her report ready for upload, she closed her lap top as she continued talk to Kira, "I have been reading that book that covers the fundamental properties of magic. There is a way that we can use this understanding to imbue spells on items. I think this is what Mr. Black intends for me to do for him." Rebecca searched Kira over and saw Kira's favorite necklace. It was a symbol of Kira's faith. Something like Rebecca's cross. An item that was always worn and would be easily over looked. "Let me see your pentagram please" Rebecca said motioning for the necklace.

RE: Sister, Sister.....
As Kira listened she recalled Rebecca mentioning creating enchanted items when she was speaking to Mr. Black. She knew that it was being possible after learning that Simon had used magic to make his pistol and that armor for his brother. Kira just wasn't sure what specially or how much training was involved in doing such a thing. Hearing Rebecca's request she nodded her head as she took off her pentagram. Kira paused a moment before handing it over, it had been with Kira for as long as Kira had been awaken. Rebecca was the only person she could trust with it. "Can you teach me how to imbue spells on items as well?"

RE: Sister, Sister.....
Rebecca carefully took the necklace in to her hand as she glanced at the door, "we have much to learn and do before we leave this room tonight." Her words were as much to do with helping Simon and as much to protect themselves from the rest of the Cabal. She wanted to trust them, but it will take more than a letter and a friendly sit down to regain that trust which was lost. If they truly meant to regain that trust, time would tell.

Rebecca turned her attention back to the necklace and started to speak in Atlantean, "We need to to ready the items." Rebecca reached around her own neck and took off her own necklace. It was a pendent of Saint Elizabeth, the Patron of Separated spouses and Difficult marriages. The pendent was given to her during one of their shows by a woman who had survived a brutal marriage and found courage in Rebecca's message. With both items sitting side by side, Rebecca reached out with magic to wash any magical residue from them. As the same time, she opened herself to sensing the flow of magic around her. In doing so, she was forced to drop her mage sights. The world of Magic filled her vision with a prism of colors. Rebecca was starting to realize that each Arcana had its own degree of colors. But like a rainbow of color, this was only part of the truth. She knew in her heart that Magic was much more complex than just simple colors to be viewed.

"What I want to do will be to cast a pair of spells within these two items. I don't know how long these will last, but I think I can set them up to last for a twenty four hour period. But I am going to need your help to cast them." Rebecca explained as she motioned for Kira to help in the casting of the spells. While Rebecca got ready to cast, Rebecca ensured that both items were ready to receive each spell. The flow of mana was already taking its toll on Rebecca who was already weakened from the past two days. She wanted to just take a break but knew that they didn't have the time for that. Rebecca reached down and summoned up her resolve to remain focused on the task at hand. "Kira, can you allow your mana to flow within the items to charge them?"
