A Cake for Lysire

RE: A Cake for Lysire
Unna looked down, ashamed. "It has already come to pass. It ended up being a horrible day. I had just gotten then hang of moving objects through the force and was too eager to move everything I could."

Unna began to move the ashes around to see if she could uncover anything. As she worked her way through the surface she asked "when did this happen? How old was I?" She made sure her cake was safe the whole time. "It may seem silly how I am so careful with this cake at a time like this, but after what I've learned of Lysire's fate, giving her this has become so much more important."

Unna continued to dig.

RE: A Cake for Lysire
"There will be other horrible days," she said softly as she turned and leaned up against the side of a burned out vehicle. "But there will be days where everything just turned better than you hoped. It's going to be a long road filled with ups and downs. Sometimes it will feel like there are only downs. But trust me, the ups are worth it."

She watched Unna dig in the ash. Unna pulled up a burned doll. Unna couldn't help but stare at the little doll. She knew that she had held this thing before. "I can't tell you what you will find here. You have to come here yourself. Just like I did. That is how this works. I can only guild you like those before me, guided me."

Unna picked up the doll and examined it. This was identical to the doll she made for herself. Then, suddenly, she thought of Ashla and their other friend and how she had made dolls for them. "What happened to Ashla and tbe others? Did this version of me know them? What are the four stars? Are they us?"

Unna brushed off the ashes that were accumulating on top of the cake box and placed the doll on top. She sifted through more ashes. She felt like there was more to uncover.

RE: A Cake for Lysire
"Unna" called the strange yet familiar voice. Unna turned to see her mother walking in to the large spacious room "Unna, there you are child!"

The older version of Unna dropped her hand on Unna's shoulder, "it can get confusing" she said softly as the scene before her played out.

The strange vision of Unna rose from her little table holding the very doll that was recovered from the ash. "Mommy" she said as Unna's mother walked over. "I saw them again. The Four strange women. They told me that darkness was coming."

"Unna, how many times do I have to tell you. These strange creatures don't exist. And no one is coming for you." The mother said.

"Yes mother they are. They told me. Nothing will stop them. They will come and darkness will cover our world and a million lights will be extinguished."

The concern on the mother's face was clear as the older version of Unna looked in to the eyes of the dream walker, "the visions can become very confusing. But you have to learn to be only the observer and not take part. No matter how tempting it is."

As Unna watched the scene of the young Unna unfold, she uttered "not even my mother knew..."

Unna noted that there were four strange women. This was becoming a common number.

"You're right," Unna said to the older Unna. "This is definitely confusing."

Unna walked over to the vehicle that the older Unna had been leaning against and looked inside. "I'm curious about what else I will see. Also, do you know what happened to the versions of my friends in this universe? Where I came from, I made a doll like this for Ashla. I knew her around this age. Did this version of me know her?"

The mother knelt down next to the young girl Unna, "baby, the ancients did everything in their power to keep our world safe and hidden from the rest of the galaxy."

The little girl shook her head, "no mommy. You and the leadership are wrong. The four have spoken of a woman who carries the flower of death within her. She can see where no one else can see. She walked among the stars and leads aan army of death to our world."

As the scene continued the older version nodded as Unna asked her about her friends, "I do" she said simply. The statement was clearly an answer to the question of if she knew about Unna's friends in this universe.

"A flower..." Unna thought to herself. "Could it be?"

"I think I see it..." Unna looked to her older self. "So, you know what happened to my friends in this universe? Did the same thing happen to them? Can you tell me?"

The older version shook her head, "I can't. I can only guild you to the truth. You have to take the journey for yourself. You must take the same steps as I have."

She motioned back to the four Lysires, "it is their way. A path that we have taken before. And one that will be taken again." She watch the conversation between mother and child take place, "let me ask you this. Look around, do you think you are the first one to travel this path?" She paused a moment, "do you think you will be the last?"

"I learned in history class that this world was not the first..." Unna looked down at the doll on top of her cake box and made sure her grip was good, "as much as I wish it was the last, I'm sure that isn't true, based off of what they say." Unna turned her head and nodded to the four Lysires. "Are they actually versions of Lysire? They do not act like her. The Lysire I know is more forthcoming about everything she knows."

"I've already seen it happen in my Universe, although I'm not sure there is a surface left to walk on."

RE: A Cake for Lysire
The older version of Unna looked back at the four Lysires with sadness in her eyes. "It was something that I set upon her. To answer a question that should have never been asked."

She turned to Unna, "don't misunderstand me. I would have done it again if I had to and you will have to do it. Because what secrets it unlocks will help you defeat the greatest threat to the Galaxy that has ever come."

Her eyes shifted back to the four beings, "what you see there is what is left of her. Broken in to separate parts that once made up the whole. What she became was what we needed. Now she looks down upon us, like little rabbits running around on so many worlds. To them it's like the universe looking down upon us. From time to time they come back and contact me. To offer what wisdom they can in their own twisted way."

She closed her eyes as a tear slipped from one, "I often wonder if any one of them remembers who I am. Or our friendship." She opened her eyes and looked at Unna, "what you see is only an echo, a specter of who Lysire really was."
