He drew in a deep breath, "I really wish that Auro had come. I wanted to speak with him about a new Holocron I am working on. I was hoping to get his insight in to the matter." There was a strange sense that he cared more about the Holocron than he did about the actual issue that they were just talking about.
Duncan nodded in understanding. "Oh Master Stephens do you know when the Frey Jedi division is supposed to leave? I still have several requests for assignment in the 10th division and was hoping to interview some of the candidates before they made their way to Sembela." Duncan brought up as if he had forgotten something.

RE: Lunch over the City
"Perhaps there will be opportunity for that in the future," Unna responded, followed by a brief pause, before stating the catch. "Of course, we would have to extend our stay and we currently have no reason to guarantee our continued presence on Fray. It is unfortunate, as I know The Lord's fondness of holocrons."
Unna, however was curious. "If you would like to discuss it, I would be pleased to listen. I do apologize for my frustrations as relating to this investigations. I just strongly believe that I could very likely find the source of the leak if I were able to examine all possible outlets. Those frustrations aside, I do find you to be a rather pleasant conversationalist."

RE: Lunch over the City
He smiled and blushed even slightly, "I pride myself on being pleasant regardless of the situation," he said softly relaxing a bit. "I always believed that a person should always be pleasant."
He turned to Duncan, "the change of command has already taken place. Guardian Security Personal have taken over the wall and gates to the city." He turned to Unna, "and I say good riddance. Don't get me wrong, I think very highly of my fellow Jedi Commander. However they were fairly useless in dealing with the undesirables here in the city."
He reached across and touched Unna's hand, "did you know that one of those ungrateful refugees actually defiled the doors of the Temple with excrement!" There was a sense of horror in his voice as he spoke. "Who does that!?" He paused a moment before adding, "they used to scream and shout so loud. I couldn't even think in my own office. The Jedi Guard were not able to remove the protesters. I mentioned to Marshal Haze how distraction the protesters were, and the next morning they were gone."

RE: Lunch over the City
Unna smiled once again as Master Stephen spoke of being pleasant. The words rang true to her, since she knows the consequences of not being so pleasant. Then her eyes widened as he talked about things being defiled with excrement. She could answer his question of who would do that with a very high amount of certainty. "I'll tell you who would do such a thing! Someone who has yet to grow up! I know of a young lady who once used the force to fling fecal materials at a bully without any consideration of the consequences. She thought she was dealing foul consequences to a foul bully, but thankfully she learned a valuable lesson." Unna had not told Master Stephen who the little girl was, but the look on her face spoke for itself.
"Master," Unna changed the subject, now placing a hand upon his. "I am no Jedi, as I am sure you are aware. However, I do wonder if Guardian deals with refugees in the way that a Jedi such as Auro would do by preserving lives, rather than the quick extermination of such adversaries' lives. While I do agree that this isn't the most effective way to deal with such problems in the short term, isn't it the way of Jedi such as yourself? I make no judgement, because I do not share the same philosophies. I am only curious."
Unna turned to look at Sola, noting that she has been quiet for a while.

RE: Lunch over the City
"Oh really?!" Duncan said in genuine surprise at learning the jedi division had already been replaced. "I find it hard to believe that a group without the Force as their guide can be as effective as Jedi. By any chance is the Marshall using those new forces of his? The ones he says will one day replace the Jedi?" He asked.

RE: Lunch over the City
He wasn't sure, but it appeared to Master Stephen that Duncan had taken a harsher tone. Instead of facing the possible conflict, he turned to Unna. "Marshal Haze takes caring for these people," he said with almost a disdain in his voice regarding the people of Fray. "Nearly two thirds of my budget here on this world is spent on them."
He gave Duncan a glance before turning back to Unna, "these people are so ungrateful. I have personally worked so hard to bring them a little bit of the Core, and they would protest and destroy things." He leaned forward, "did you know that they actually bathed in the Garden of a Thousand Fountains. Their only true gift of culture to the rest of the galaxy, and these people bathed in the Fountains. It took my Jedi here months to clean them and rid the water of that odor."
He leaned back, "than that busy bee. That little mouthy busy bee" he said as he brought his hand to his chin. "What was her name, "blista? Fista....whatever, They called her Their Lady. She was a ever present thorn in my side. Always begging for more money for 'Her People'. Well if they were her people, why not have them get to work instead of sitting at home and complaining all the time."
He frowned, "I never liked her, but sometimes I wish she never committed suicide. Her death has caused me so much more problems." His sadness over the death of Lady Baku was honest. "I disliked her and her endless begging for more. But I sometimes wish she was still around. It was so much easier to control the people with her around than now."
He drew in a deep breath as he turned back to Duncan. "Guardian Export has many divisions. Yes some of them are military in purpose. That doesn't mean anything. And Honestly, I would rather a real army take the place of our role out there in the Outer Rim. If it wasn't for Baku, I would not find this posting very pleasant. As for Marshal Haze, he is a good man with a heart of gold. Did you know that he created a program that allowed youth of Fray to be educated and given skills that will help them rebuild their broken world. And might I add, a world they broke, themselves."

RE: Lunch over the City
"I mean no offense Master Stephens. I was merely curious. For instance this is the second time you've told me how much of your budget is being used to help the people. And yet the people were still trying to shower in the fountain. As you know I've met with some of the locals and have ordered the Vegence to help in giving medical supplies and even radiation pills. Did you know Master that the water can litterally turn to fire if there's a spark? And i'm not talking water in a lake or a pound, I'm talking about their drinking water." Duncan said as if he were just telling the man a war story. There was nothing agressive in what he was saying it was just statements of fact. Then as a trump card Duncan produced a data padd showing a couple of the locations he had visited since their arrival. Granted these were the small towns he had visited before he started helping the Minutemen by giving them intel.

RE: Lunch over the City
The Master Jedi smiled softly, "than I shall take no offense. Your tone is a bit harsher than you might intend, Commander." He shifted to speak with Duncan, "as for the showering, that was last year. We have since solved that horrible problem. The city was badly over populated. So we relocated many of the residents to communities just beyond the wall."
He frowned, "and I must say, those communities," he added than pointed at Duncan's datapad, "unlike those places. Are batons of peace and order. Guardian has been taking care of direct policing of those communities around the wall for almost a year. Since that time, communities like Oli City have grown in to proud little settlements."
He leaned back a bit, "though you are lucky Commander. Those places are restricted. Heavy Raider activity in that area has limited our ability to help those people within those areas. As for the water, I have had some of the most extensive studies done on the drinking water of this world. Those people claim that Guardian is responsible for the drinking water issue. You can't blame Guardian for years of pollution that you did to your own world."
He continued to frown, "that is what is wrong with this world. Those people are lazy beggars that simply wont accept responsibility for their own actions. No matter how much good we do for them, they will never accept us for who we are. If it wasn't for us, those people would have killed themselves. We brought peace and stability back to their little world and yet we are the bad guys. Those people will never be happy."

RE: Lunch over the City
Unna listened to the exchange between Duncan and Master Stephen. She looked down at the table and took deep breaths as she kept herself calm. Being such a bad bluffer, she made no attempts to hide that she was troubled. She only kept herself from becoming more upset.
"Tristan Blay..." she said once the two men had finished speaking. She was still polite, but she was hurting as she spoke. "That was her name. Tristan Blay. She was a dear friend of mine. I am deeply saddened by her death. It seems you are as well, but only because you took her for granted now that you recognize your life was easier with her around. I was not acquainted with her politically as you were. I was merely a protector turned friend. With that being said, I can see how it is more beneficial to help the people help themselves, rather than just giving to them. However, I will always be scarred by her death on a personal level. It is a loss I have yet to be able to mourn properly, so excuse me if I seem upset. I must request that we refrain from discussing her in a negative light."
"Now, I do hope that Marhal Haze's programs for the people, as described, are effective."
