Chapter Three (Closure)

Early 3060: Muphrid troops under the command of Duke Kilt join the invasion of New Earth.

Mid 3060: A suicide bomber detonates her bomb in the heart of Administration Complex for the Skye Ranges and Skye Jaegers, the later were deeply involved in the New Earth Invasion. In the after math of the bombing, general support for the invasion on Skye falters. Duke Robert Kelswa-Steiner uses his influence to further erode popular support for the invasion as well as support of Duchess Hermione Aten of Skye.

July 3060: Duke Robert Kelswa-Steiner calls on all worlds within the Isle of Skye to without their support of what he called an unlawful occupation of an Isle of Skye world. Duke Kilt openly defies the order and increases his troop deployment to New Earth.

August, 3060: After bitter military losses, Lyran Alliance agrees to peace talks. While peace talks being hosted on Skye are being conducted, the world of Lipton breaks ranks with Duke Kelswa-Steiner and allows Lyran ships to use its system to help support the blockade of New Earth.

After heated debates, a weak peace accord was struck between New Earth and the Lyran Alliance. Both sides violate the peace accords within hours of the documents being signed.

After facing stiff popular resistance, the local government of Solaris released the leaders of Hurricane Stables.

As a result of the conflict growing around New Earth, Draconis Combine Peacekeepers under the command of Comstar have grown in numbers across the Lyon’s Thumb.

November, 3060: Thanks to a massive PR blitz by Archon Katrina Steiner-Davion, support for Duke Kelswa-Steiner erodes. New Earth is painted as the aggressor. Tensions on New Earth continue to grow as New Earth’s military under command of General Macko refuse to lift Martial Law. President McGray lacks the political support in the Congress to force General Macko to return power to the civilian government.

Clan Ice Hellion continues its march in to Clan Jade Falcon Occupaton Zone, Ice Hellion’s 200th Attack Cluster finished off the 8th Falcon Regulars on Devin. saKhan Conner Rood promises Jade Falcon forces will be ousted from the Inner Sphere before June 3061. Falcons having suffered massive losses from Tukayyid and from their failed war against the Wolves have left them incapable of halting the Ice Hellion’s march.

December, 3060: After several failed attempts to rally support in New Earth’s Senate, President McGray attempts one on one talks with General Macko. Only an order from the House of Nobility can break the stalemate. Duchess Karen Tetsuhara-Death is still missing from the beginning of the Invasion. Reports surface that she was captured by Lyran forces.

General Macko meets with Terracap Confederation, talks about regional security

January, 3061: The number of worlds within the Isle of Skye break ranks with Duke Kelswa-Steiner as the Archon’s PR blitz continues. Lyran forces continue to another build up in the area. Duke Kelswa-Steiner fires back publicly citing New Earth as the Archon’s own Moby Dick. Raids along the Marik and Circinus boarders cost the Alliance dearly.

Thirty worlds within the Isle of Skye including Muphrid and Lipton all sign a Military Support Deal with Tharkad in Defiance of Skye. Archon Katrina Steiner-Davion’s promises that a strong central Alliance government will prevail against terrorists’ worlds. Her speech was directly aimed at Skye and New Earth.

Alice nodded and pointed to the screen, "It would appear that things went wrong in 3020 on Solaris VII. It appears that before this moment, there is no difference in the time lines. However after this point events appear to differ. The closer to the current time, events further from the way events should have unfolded."

Suki thought long and hard about the question Adrian asked her, "there are a lot of events that happened before and after Tukayyid. I am not sure what you are looking for. As for the HPG network, aside from minor attacks on a facility here and there, nothing major has happened to the HPG network."

Suki leaned back in her chair, "well didn't someone say that Kimiko's father was this Jake Death? So wouldn't speaking to her be a good idea."

She looked over at Adrian with a grin, "not bad for a Comstar Groupie" she said giggling and sure of her suggestion.

You are right Suki. This might be the solution but Jack being there, we will have to wait a little.

Suki nodded, "so why wait?" she said softly. "I thought you guys had communicators? Well I know that us Comstar Groupies do" she joked.

Alice finished reading the updates, "actually I think there is another way to get the information that we need. This Jake Death had a very public life. Once we get to New Earth, finding out more about the man shouldn't be hard. Thanks to Jake, we will be able to swift through the myths and the facts rather easily."

"Um" she said softly then paused for a moment. "I just wanted to point a interesting fact. Kimiko's father and hero to these people is Jake Death. Our pilot's name is Jake as well."

"That is a good start, and it does seem that waiting on that is something that we have to do. Does anyone have any other topics that they think would be wise to research now while we have both the time and access?" Eric took a second too look at each person individually as he was speaking to the group as a whole.

Alice thought for a moment then raised her hand, "what is our current goal beyond gathering information?"

She paused for a moment before adding, "with Jake getting close to Kimiko, we have to understand that this woman has feelings. It doesn't seem right for us to be playing with her feeling if she is not part of our over all plans." Alice turned to Erik, "are we just going to leave?" she paused once more. It was almost as if she realized what she wanted to say. "I have heard other military planners use the term, Long Game. What is our Long Game plan?"
