Trying to understand what Alice had said, Adrian began to think out loud.

So you are saying that an asteroid not hitting New Earth after the fall of the Star League is the reason for this shift in history?

Why not? But no one can prevent an asteroid from falling...

Except perhaps with a lot of big Warships. But this not happening doesn't mean that someone is playing hidden games or that the Ark has something to do with that...

By the way, how can you be so sure that this explains everything? And how did you know where and what to look for?

Alice listened to Adrian as he spoke. She wanted to correct him about the probability of modern warships stopping an asteroid impact. However she realezed that this wasn't the time or place for that conversation.

"Explaining everything" she said calmly, "no not everything. But we are about to set down on a world that was changed by this event. Based off what we saw in the headlines and in this tourist information packet, events are still reshaping this world," she explained.

Jake's voice came on the party's comlinks. Back in KImiko's quarters, his face was still a little flushed when he thought of the closeness he'd shared with her. He quickly cleared his throat. "Hey guys." He didn't say anything else just yet, other than, "We're landing soon, just so y'know. Also, Kimiko's headed to the bridge with me soon."

Hi Jake. Any specific info for us? We've got a lot but we are still missing some.

Suki gasp at the sound of Jake's voice, "Jake!" she said. "Where are you? How are you and Kimiko doing?"

She fumbled a bit till she was close enough to Adrian to speak in to the comlink clearly. "Jake is it love? Does she feel the same way as you do?"

Adrian was amazed. Suki was so direct and in spite of what he had said still a complete romantic.
Some people never seems to understand anything he thought but as long as they have their illusions...

(So sorry for the delay, kept thinking Alice was going to post so I held off.)

Jake spluttered audibly. "W-what? Suki, we're not..." He trailed off, not knowing what he was going to say. "Anyway, wanna meet up at the bridge?" he finished lamely, his face reddening.

Still looking at Suki in disbelief, Adrian decided that it was time to act.

Sorry Suki but you will have time later on to find out more about the little romances being played our there. Right now, we need to know what is going on and where we are heading and from that, device a plan to...

Stopping in the middle of his sentence, Adrian didn't know what he and even less the other wished. To get back? To stay here?

Alice glanced around before speaking. Her eyes fell upon Eric as she tried to figure out which advice to give. Not wanting to step on Eric's toes, she chose her statement carefully. "Jake, it is clear that Kimiko trusts you. Or at least has some degree of attraction towards you. Remain close to her and speak thoughtfully. Don't do anything that will allow others to attack her choice in you or cause her to have doubt in that choice. This is the best advice I can give you. Those around her will see your presence as threatening to them or their agenda."

Once she was finished, she turned to Eric in hopes of gaining his approval for what she said.
