The Library

RE: The Library
The creature returned Unna's affection with soft rubs and more purrs. There is a soft sound that indicated the creatures pleasure with the affection it was getting from Unna.

Lysire smiled and nodded, "she was a great friend to grow up with. I hadn't seen her since that night. I almost forgot what she looks like," there was a sense of remorse in her voice as Lysire spoke.

RE: The Library
Unna continued to pet the cute critter as she pondered Lysire's words. Then she realized what was going on. She closed her eyes, with her hand still on what appeared to be Lysire's pet and used her telepathy to convey to Lysire how proud she was of her. "Nice!" she thought, as she concentrated on Lysire.

RE: The Library
Lysire smiled as the little pet continued to play around, "I haven't done this since that night" she confessed. "I know my mother had tried to get me used to doing this again. But truthfully, I don't know if I will ever be used to doing this again."

She sighed as the little pet slowly vanished in to mid air. "My biological father was working two jobs in hopes of making enough money to send me to aan academy. That night was the first time he had a real day off in over two years. We played games and joked while my little creations entertained."

She looked down once more in sadness, "those bad men came to my home because of me."

She paused for a moment as she thought. "I'm sorry" Lysire said and made a genuine effort to smile. "I don't mean to be so depressing. I normally don't talk about my personal life" she said then looked out the window that over looked the hallway. Through the window both women could see a large upper classman talking to a woman in the hallway. "I learned that lesson early on" she added. Lysire turned her attention back to Unna, "I just find it easy to speak with you."

RE: The Library
Unna was happy to see that Lysire decided to try her mind tricks again, but also saddened to hear that it had been such a long time. Still, she was very happy to be encouraging her. "You have a very horrible memory attached to doing this, and that's understandable, but your mother and your biological father realized how special you are. I just met you and I realize it. The bad men wanted you to do bad things with your talent, so what do you say we work on using it to do great things instead?"

RE: The Library
She smiled, "we can try but please understand this is still uncomfortable for me."

"HEY WORM!" the booming voice came from the front of the library.

Lysire rolled her eyes and looked down as a large man and woman with fiery red hair walked up to the table. Lysire looked at Unna, "Allow me to introduce Graff and Jenna, Co-Captains of our Mixed Style Fencing Team."

The large man smiled as he walked up to Unna. Because of his size, Unna could tell he was a Near-Human. He leaned over the table and looked at Unna, "so you are one of those that Master Chun brought to the Academy." He paused as Jenna spoke.

There was a sense of degrading when she spoke about Lysire, "careful who you associate with. Book Worm Girl here is great when you need help with a paper, but she is not what we call popular."

Graf laughed as he thumped Lysire's head with his fingers. "How is my paper coming?"

Lysire rubbed her head, "I have it right here" she said pulling a data chip from her bag.

Graf snatched it up, "if it is as good as your last paper Worm, than that should push me to the top of the class." He gave Unna a wink as he spoke, "the Captain of the Team has to be the best at what he does, right?" He turned back to Lysire, "hey, I am looking for someone. I am almost sure she is a senior officer on the Chancellor's Joint Chief of Staff Council."

Lysire nodded, "It should be....."

"Yeah, what ever...." he cut her off. "Just go get it." Graff snapped. On that note Lysire got up and walked in to the stacks as she went searching for a book.

Jenna worked around the table and set down next to Unna, "So you met the great Master Chun.....What is he like?" There was genuine respect in her voice as she spoke of Master Chun.

Graff nodded, "My father met him, but I never had to privilege." His tone took a noticeable change as he spoke to Unna.

RE: The Library
Before Unna could tell Lysire that she understood, two other students barged in and created a scene that Unna found to be most distasteful. As she watched it unfold, she had pretty much made up her mind about the pair.

"Yes, I met Master Chun. He's what you'd expect, but goes beyond in how he sees beings. I, along from those who traveled with me, come from the middle of nowhere. We literally lived in the woods, but Master Chun saw us for who we are and what we are capable of, rather than a status. That isn't too common, is it? That is what makes him so extraordinary. I aspire to follow his lead."

With that said, she looked at Lysire, then back at the pair. "From what I've seen in Lysire, she is exactly the type I would like to associate with. Someone who is willing to help another seems like the best type of friend to have. She is so kind to help you, despite the fact that you do not seem at all grateful. We were never really concerned with popularity where I come from."

Unna placed a hand on Lysire's shoulder and stood confidently by her words and her new friend.

RE: The Library
Jenna laughed, "Influence isn't everything. But it opens doors that otherwise wouldn't be opened. My mother and father works for a local Lord. His influence and money allowed my a place in this academy" Jenna explained while Lysire returned with a book in her arms.

She laid it down before Graff and with a moment pause he started going through the book as Jenna continued. "But it was my skill with a saber that earned me a place on the academy's team." She gazed in to Unna's eyes, "and trust Master Chun knows all about influence. His inner circle is made up of nobles from across the Core Worlds."

Graff laughed as he cut off Jenna, "so tell me Ms Status isn't that important, why do you think the General of the Grand Army of the Republic would send her bastard son here!?"

He spun the book showing Unna a picture of a General Praeta Syrdash. "Guess status does amount to something."

RE: The Library
Since everyone, aside from maybe Lysire, was laughing, Unna began to laugh as well. "I said popularity. Obviously political and military leaders have influence."

She looked at the book, examined the photos and read the entries, then looked at Graff. "This woman did not send Auro here. Auro was sent by the same benefactor who sponsored me, along with my two other companions. Why do you even care?"

RE: The Library
Graf smiled as he looked at Lysire, "look it's good you stand by your friends. Loyalty is important" he said then looked back to Unna. "But when the killing starts, you make sure you stay close to Jenna or I. After all we are all Jedi" he said.

He then looked at the image, "as for why you are here or who sent you. Your right, don't care. But Auro's little secret is worth it's weight in gold. After all the Core Worlds love their scandals."

He leaned back and smiled as his eyes shifted between Lysire and Unna. "But don't worry, General Syrdash has been very good to my family. Her secret is safe with us."

RE: The Library
"I am sure General Syrdash would appreciate that," smiled Unna. "As for loyalties, is there a reason why we can't all be friends? Lysire is so kind to help you with you assignments, so that you are able to keep your grades up and focus on your fencing skills. I would like to think in the event of these killings you speak of, that you would return the favor to her. Perhaps we could even be a help to you, if you'd be willing to teach us. Also, you seem so sure that killings will begin by the way you say 'when' rather than 'if.' Would you mind telling me why? As I said, I've literally lived in the woods for the past several years. I'm unfortunately behind on current events."
