A Roller Coaster of a Command (Game Event: 04-20-17)
A Roller Coaster of a Command
Baku Spaceport
World of Fray
Outer Rim Territories
Date: 2920 AOK (One Month after Auro's Birthday)

Auro and Duncan were called to an urgent staff meeting regarding the sudden coup taking place on Bargess IV. So sudden was the conference called, that Auro and Duncan didn’t even have a chance to brief anyone in the command structure of the events beyond Baku. This left Jaden and the rest of the party to their own devices. With Demaya spending as much time as possible off ship, this left Jaden primarily in charge of the Battalion and the ship while Duncan and Auro were away. Jaden’s instructions from Duncan were simple, ‘Don’t screw anything up or blow up my flagship!’

As Auro, Duncan, Unna, Amelia, and Nines departed the Vengeance, Duncan turned to Auro and said, “I have a bad feeling about this.” With nothing serious on the calendar, all Jaden had to do is maintain the ship as it rested in a safe harbor. For Jaden, this was a chance to show Duncan and Auro that he had what it takes to lead the party. It would be so much more! The past twenty-four for our party seemed more like an episode ripped from a popular Holo-Show. Woven within this roller coaster of a ride was mystery, action, space travel, subterfuge, and a dash of sexy on the side.

Our entire story started with a call from Chief Inspector Malcolm attempted to contact Duncan Starchaser. Unaware that the Commander of the Tenth Division was summoned off world to a top-secret conference. Unable to reach Jedi Commander Duncan, Chief Inspector Malcolm ended up speaking to Jaden instead. It was a cryptic conversation that ended with a request that Duncan or Auro get down to a night club. When Jaden attempted to pressed the inspector for more information, he only reiterated that it was an urgent matter and gave the location of the night club. Chief Inspector Malcolm stressed that he would like to keep this out of any official records.

Upon arrival, the team led by Jaden discovered several local Rangers badly beaten up, a Jedi Padawan and two other Rangers being taken out on a Stretcher. It was clear that whatever happened at this night club wasn’t much more than a basic bar fight. The Rangers and Padawan were all from the same unit. The Party wasn’t sure who was on the other side. After a short and eventful run in with a basic street cop, the party soon encountered Chief Inspector Malcolm. He told the party that he wanted to make sure that the events of tonight didn’t show on any official OR unofficial reports.

He pointed to the attacker of the local Rangers, it was Demaya! The party discovered that Demaya wasn’t just drunk, she was very drunk. She staggered as she walked and slurred when she spoke. She admitted with pride, attacking the rangers and the Padawan. She told the party that she had attacked them because they had accused Commodore Wilhuff Tarkin of attacking a Jedi convoy. Demaya was adamant in her defense of Tarkin and reaffirmed his loyalty to the Republic. Upon being escorted from the night club, Demaya shouted at the Padawan, “That’s what you get for bringing a lightsaber to an ass whopping.”

When the party returned to the Vengeance, Jaden returned to his duties on the bridge while Tod and Ashla babysat Demaya as she passed out. As Ashla kept a look out, Tod was able to hack Demaya’s personal computer. Despite the luring secrets within the personal computer, Tod was attracted to the private emails between Demaya and Tarkin. The emails were revealing and bore a in depth look in to a very private Demaya. The emails revealed important facets of Demaya that up to this moment were unknown.

The emails revealed anger towards Auro and his mother regarding his promotion and leadership of the Tenth Division over her. Her emails to Tarkin also showed that Demaya had serious problems with the Chancellor and her policy regarding the coming Jedi Civil War. The most damning was that the emails revealed the fact that Tarkin gave her critical information regarding the battle of Olivan. Information that she withheld from the party. These emails also revealed that her love and faith for Tarkin was complete.

The group tracked down the story regarding Tarkin’s attack. The story led them to a pirate and smuggler who witnessed the attack. While Jaden entrained the pirate, Tod and Ashla managed to hack in to the ship of the pirates. They were able to confirm that Tarkin’s flagship, the Caspia, one of few Venator II Class Star Destroyers, fired on a number of Jedi flagged ships. But questions still lingered. Which meant the party had to go to the scene of the crime, and that also meant dealing with a still unconscious Demaya.

The group decided on smuggling Demaya (with her weapons) on to a medical shuttle heading to Sunshine Co-Op. With the Demaya ‘problem’ dealt with, the party boarded a shuttle and took off for the site of the crime. After a short few hours, the party arrived at the site and found a debris field that matched the number of ships destroyed. The party recovered a flight recorder that placed the final nail in the coffin. Tarkin had lured this convoy to this place and ambushed them. The Convoy was in route for small Jedi base within the Mirial system. The party decided to head for that base.

Upon arrival, the party learned that the base’s transponder had been turned off and another Venator was on station near the base. The party’s shuttle was intercepted by a flight of ARC-170’s and brought in to land. There they met the commander of the ship, a Jedi Master, who informed them that the local Jedi Base had been attacked by unknown forces. The party told him of Tarkin’s attack. He used Affect Mind on Tod to get her to reveal the Flight Recorder and the copy that they made.

Warning of broader issues with going public with the evidence, he ordered all the evidence destroyed. An order that required Affect Mind on Tod to comply. Under the influence of the Force, Tod walked with a trooper towards a nearby incinerator as Ashla followed along. The Flight Recorder was the first to be destroyed as Ashla struggled for a plan. As the trooper moved to incinerate the copy, Ashla reached up and pulled the chest part of her Kimono open and exposed her breasts to the entire flight deck. With everyone stunned by her sudden and surprising move, Ashla used effect mind on the trooper, telling him that he destroyed all the evidence. At the same time, she snatched the only copy of Tarkin’s ambush.

With the evidence destroyed, the party were free to return to Fray. On the trip home, the party learned that they were not the only ones with the information. Someone had uploaded the information to Free Olivan Voice. Within hours, the propaganda machine of Olivan hailed Tarkin a hero for standing up to the Jedi and congratulated the ambush as a blow for Freedom. By the time the party returned to Vengeance, word of Tarkin’s betrayal had spread to the Core Worlds who were calling him the greatest traitor the Republic has ever known. A firestorm of concerns flooded the Jedi Command as loyal worlds in the Outer Rim questioned Jedi forces stationed on their worlds.

Returning to the Bridge, Jaden was advised of the developments across the sector. But there was one message that Jaden knew meant trouble. A message from Renee Eaton that said, “Duncan, we have a problem with the Jedi you sent us. Why would you send a Jedi? A JEDI!? Please contact me as soon as you can!”

He slumped in to the command chair of the Vengeance as he was informed that Lord Simbla’s shuttle was landing. The only good news was that Duncan and Auro had been traveling under radio silence. So, Jaden had a chance to brief his brother before they heard about it from somewhere else. He rose from his chair and headed for the lift to greet the Division Commander. It was after all, Jaden’s first command.

(OOC: Jaden, you are obligated to brief Duncan on the events of last game. God I wish I could be a fly on the wall for that one! lol)
