Enter the Interrogator

[Unna Hi Chaanu]

Unna walked back into the room to return to the rest of the party after her private conversation with Trysta. She hadn't turned dark, so it could be surmised that Unna did not kill her. Her scowling expression would easily convey her lack of desire to discuss the interaction. What she had discussed could wait, because more pressing matters needed to be addressed. "The walking lie detector has returned. I suppose it is time to go fulfill my destiny, once again," she said sarcastically. "I would like to get these interrogations over with, so I can share important information I learned pertaining to more than one of our destinies while on leave. Who will join me?"

"I will walk alongside you. I admit that I am not the best interrogator, but as I am a Jedi, I should have some weight in that at least. While I was gone I learned something of how to get people to tell you things I am no expert in such." He put a frown onto his face as he thought about the encounter.

[Gar]

Ni perked up and raised her hand, waving it enthusiastically. "Ooo! I do!"

Then she smiled in understanding. "I'm starting to get familiar with our team now! I am the distraction," she commented happily, pointing to Unna, "You're the lie detector," pointing to Duncan and Gadeon, "Gaddy and Duncan are the muscle," pointing to Ashla, "she is the swashbuckler," pointing to Jaden and frowning, adding with the sudden realization, "Hmm, I don't really know what you your thing is yet..."

Unna sighed as she was called a lie detector. She had often used the term against herself sarcastically, but the humor certainly had its basis in how she had often actually felt. She hesitated to speak up, knowing that there was potentially vital information waiting to be extracted. She inhaled as if she was about to say something, then exhaled. No, she thought to herself. I need to say this now.

She stepped forward and looked around at the group and spoke from her heart. "I know that Ni doesn't mean that all I am is a lie detector. I realize that I often refer to myself as one, as I just did, in jest as well. It is a gift to have such an ability. However, it has come to be a shackle as well. There have been occasions in which I felt I was being brought along as a tool, rather than having the opportunity to pursue what I felt to be my true calling. I realize that I should have spoken up at times, but did not because I was trying to be the loyal advisor, although the extent of my advice was mostly "true" or "false." Other times, such as now, I know this ability is what is truly needed of me and is the right thing. When it comes to such serious matters, I am proud and willing to help. However, I do not want to go from serving as one person's lie detector to being the lie detector of another. I know that is not what is being asked of me, but I feel this is a good opportunity to make my feelings on the matter known."

"So much has changed within our circle." Unna looked to Duncan and Jaden. "We have expanded to welcome new family." Unna looked at Duncan, "Brawn has become the brains of an operation." Then she slyly smiled at Jaden, "and I suppose brain has become art."

"A brother has left to pursue his own path," Unna said with a momentary look of deflation, before turning to Gadeon with a smile, "while another brother returns with a new friend." Unna gestured toward Ni as she mentioned her name.

"Ashla," Unna turned to look at her longest friend, "has transformed into a woman, yet she has been by my side since we were children to witness it all."

"I have been discovering so much about myself and my path recently, as well as our collective direction. I look forward to sharing that information with you all, once matters here are dealt with. However, I would like to share the change within myself as it pertains to this particular situation. I have been finding my voice with the help of Demaya and Master Stephen. One such quality of a lie detector is that it is quiet, aside from revealing results. It doesn't ask questions. I have recently come to question many things, and one thing Master Stephen has instilled in me during my leave is to never stop asking questions. I fear this change is making me out to be a lousy lie detector." Unna paused her speech and began to smile. "However, I believe that the newly instilled, along with with my pre existing talent, I would be well qualified to be defined as an interrogator in such matters."

[Gar]

Ni looked as if she had zoned out halfway through Unna's catharsis. She picked at a piece of her chair, then seemed to be drawing pictures on the table with her finger, then she stared at a wall for a time, then her face scrunched up like she was trying to remember something. One of her legs perpetually kicked back and forth, causing the chair to exert tiny squeaky noises.

When Unna finished talking the Zeltron started and blinked as though waking up. Without skipping a beat, Ni replied a little too cheerfully, "Oh, well, it's like Master Henoch used to say--with great power comes great responsibility...Or was it with great responsibility comes great power?" She pauses to ponder this for a moment, seeming deep in thought.

Gadeon smiled as Ni named each person in a simple form, only partly accurate. "Unna, each person is far more than one thing. If you feel like you have been used as a tool, please do not hesitate to say. I can speak with confidence when I say I know what that is like, and that I do not believe anyone here wants you to feel as such. That is not to say that you cannot help us a great deal with your skill, it is useful, and if you feel you need to say something please do. Gadeon looked to Unna, then to Ni. "I think you were wise, Unna, looking at who you had become, where your choices had lead you, and decided to take upon yourself more responsibility." He gave a smile, then looked toward the door to the cell. "Did anyone know if Ashla or the Starchasers wanted to be here?"

[Gar]

"Speak for yourself, Gaddy!" Ni giggled teasingly. She gave Unna a look that was worth a thousand words as she told her, "You can use me however you wish, Shy One." Then she turned to the rest of the party and said happily, "I like being used!"

[Duncan_Starchaser]

Duncan had said anything yet. He had been lost in thought since they had all gathered in the room. The events that had passed were still hard for him. Jefsye Ivetuf, or as he always called him Jef, was always a good guy loyal to the Order. In fact they all were loyal to the Order. But now he was wonder if the Order was deserving of that loyalty, not just that if it was loyal to them. "In the last several months we have all been looking at other paths to follow, and in some of our cases we've been forced to take a path that we never imagined we'd take. I believe that our roles will ever be evolving in the days ahead. But as long as we stay strong and united I think we'll adjust to our new roles and paths we decide to take nicely."

[Gar]

Ni's focus wandered once more as Duncan talked to the group, her eyes seeming to glaze over. When he was finished she snapped back to attention, as if something just occurred to her.

"I know!" She exclaimed with a gasp, pointing to Duncan, "you can be our Moralizer!"

[Akirapryde]

Duncan's comlink goes off and he answers her. "Sir" Demaya's voice whispered in to his ear piece (OOC: Remember that this In-Between takes place on world, Bilrylbak 7. The party is in the conference room, within the Security Offices of the Space Port Authority) We have been notified by Republic Naval Command that all Jedi installations in the region have been placed on full alert. We have been ordered to use caution as tensions between the two major Jedi factions continue to escalate." There was a short pause before she continued, "there is a secure message from the Chancellor herself waiting for you when you return."
