Practice Practice Practice
On the Liberty's Hope, during the journey journey to drop off the Refugees.

Date: 2921 AOK

Duncan had decided to fly with the refugees on the Acclamator-class ship that they had been given by Trysta. He didn't think the ship's previous name matched the mission he was thinking of using it for, as such he had been calling it the Liberty's Hope. He also didn't feel right leaving all these refugees alone on board with the B-1s. This way they'd at least have a living being to talk to if needed. Ironically most of the trip seemed to be quiet, in fact it was quiet enough that he was able to use the time to practice the lessons he had been learning about manipulating Cosmic Force. But for every centimeter he felt he had taken forward it seemed as if he took a full meter backwards. And trying ti manipulate it always left his physically and emotionally drained. It reminded him of his first days at the temple when he was first learning to manipulate the Force.  But he didn't let the difficulties of the task bother him then, he wasn't going to let it bother him now. So as Master Dooku had told him so many years ago.... practice, practice, practice.

RE: Practice Practice Practice
Duncan took note of the surroundings and realized that time had stopped. He turned and felt as if an entity moved around him. It was strange, because he never noticed Lysire’s movements before. Something was different.

"Did you imagine that commanding the very fabric of the universe would come if only you practiced," Lysire said.

She appeared in her soft white common gown with a red hooded cloak. While the hood was pulled up, it didn’t conceal her face. There was something off about her. She appeared almost tired, or spent.

He was about to tell her that frankly he hadn't known what to expect but he had hoped it would. "You look tired..." is what he said with genuine concern.

Lysire moved calmly across the room, "we are spent from our last battle."

She glanced to the side of the ship as if searching some distant star, "one does not command the fabric of the universe by learning. You can not learn this gift. No one can give it to you. Either you have it, or you don't"

RE: Practice Practice Practice
"And yet I've made progress." Is what he wanted to say. "Then what should I do? Abeloth is out there and will lay waste to this galaxy because there doesn't seem to be anyone that can stop her." He stood up finally and looked in the same direction she was. "You saved me and my family for a reason." That was the first time he had given himself to think of Demya, the woman he now knew was his sister and was more than likely dead. He knew he had a brother out there some where, one that he needed to find and hoped they wouldn't be on opposite sides. "I can't believe it's to just hide out and let her destroy everything so we can come back and rebuild."

Lysire sighed heavily, "you can't understand unless you take the first walk." She moved around him as if sizing him up, "We choose to save you and your siblings because one of you would have what is needed." She lowered her voice, "Abeloth is no more. Yet, her son remains and the enemy that they have brought draws closer."

She moved closer to him, "you can not walk among the stars until you are ready to let go of who you are."

"As it was when we first choose to walk among the stars," she said softly. "The only true lie of life, is birth and death. Life is eternal, it is energy that can not be destroyed."

He heard what she was telling him, and even though he wasn't yet ready to give up everything he was, it didn't mean he wouldn't continue to learn all he could. But at last he seemed to understand why it was that Lysire seemed so tired. "How can we defeat the son and this new enemy?"

She frowned, "we can not" she said in a matter of a fact tone. She pointed to him, "We have nothing left to give in his battle." She paused a moment, "this is why we have chosen you. Each has a part to play. Now yours is up."

She held out her hand for him to take, "If you want to learn your part, than walk with us among the stars and we will teach you."

She pulled her hand back slightly as if to give him a chance to pause, "But once you step on this path, there can be no turning back."

She extended her hand once more, "decide...."

RE: Practice Practice Practice
Duncan didn't hesitate, there were to many lives at stake and if he could do something to save as many people as possible then he needed to learn how to do it. He took her hand and waited for what would come next.

Star Adder
Traveling in Hyperspace
Deep past the Unknown Regions
Date: 2920 AOK

As if stepping through a door, Lysire lead Duncan in to the galley of some strange ship. It was a clean ship, almost spotless. Sitting in a corner was Jedi Master and Legendary Jedi Hunter, Urias Chun. His knees pulled up near his chest as he mind slipped between mediation and awareness. On the other side of the Galley, two woman set sipping coffee together. On the far side of them, a child set with a plate of food before him. It was at that moment Duncan realized that time for them had stopped.

As he took note of the two women sitting together, he knew that one was Jedi Master Falynn Drease, and known companion of Master Chun. The woman sitting across from her had made it a point to become a mystery to everyone, including the authorities. For Duncan though, he knew her like he knew himself. The knowledge was just there in his mind. Her name was Anastasya Hunter, and a well-known, or unknown more to the case master criminal. One of the only hackers in the entire Galaxy to Hack the banking clans.

But beyond even that, Duncan could see more than that. He knew that her real name was Jenna Etison. He could see her life before him, as if looking in to a window. She had always been a gifted young girl born to a wealthy family on Coruscant. As a child, she excelled at science and mathematics. That was until the day she was kidnapped by a ruthless slaver by the name of Joff. She and her sisters were stolen and subjected to horrible acts of brutality of the likes that made Trysta’s story appear like a Sunday outing.

As he scanned the other woman, Jedi Master Falynn Drease, he could see that she was an older sister of Jenna. Her real name was Falynn Etison, and a former Jedi Padawan. Taken by the same kidnapper and sold to the Hutts as a slave. Her life was not as harsh as her sister, but still it left its scares on her. To Duncan’s surprise, he saw how she struggled to heal those scares within her. To guide herself back to the light despite all that she had lived through. He also saw her deep routed love for Master Chun, and their son. The child sitting on the inside of the booth and next to his mother.

Duncan searched the minds of the two sisters and saw that they were nothing alike. One was a hardened criminal, while the other one was a loyal Jedi Master. What bounded them together was their shared past. This group had at one time journeyed together. It was during the time that Master Chun had gone over to the darkside. There he bought Falynn for a night with plans to use her flesh. She had been ordered to murder the former Jedi Hunter. After defeating her, he spared her life in exchange for who commissioned her to kill him. That set him on the path of Joff and his slaver empire.

During this wild adventure, the Fallen Jedi pursued those who would prey upon children. During this adventure, the pair fell in love. At the end of this hunt, Joff laid beheaded, his slave empire in ruins, Felynn was reunited with her two younger twin sisters, Jenna and Renna. Duncan turned his attention to Master Chun. He could see the rage and anger within him. Master Chun was a tornado of emotions on the verge of explosion. Despite this, he excreted great control over these emotions. Duncan could also see the connection to himself. Master Urias Chun was Duncan’s older brother.

“We have been more than just guides to them,” Lysire said softly as she moved through the Galley. “We have witnessed to the struggle between light and dark. A struggle that was meant to continue. Or so that was what our teacher told us.” She moved toward Urias, “We don’t believe that. Abeloth and her children actively thumbed the scales in their favor for as long as many races have existed. We moved back to the beginning of this conflict and found that this truth remained no matter what. We chose to not only restore the balance but also thumb the scale in favor of the light.”

“But more than that, we chose to end this conflict once and for all. We found a weakness in the walls of the prison and cracked the walls. We set Abeloth free,” Lysire said plainly as if her actions had no consequences.
