At The Pool 7/21/21
Tesara had discovered the pool only four days in to her stay at the summer palace. In retrospect, she should have had a "DUH of course there is a pool, it's a PALACE" moment, but she had not, and when she discovered it she had stood there for a good full minute staring in shock and awe. It was gorgeous. The water was a constant blue and the temperature was cool and refreshing. Having grown up at the river her entire life, she had cried and laughed with joy and delight when she first swam in those waters. She had purchased a swimsuit - a marvel of fabric that did not get ruined in long exposure to water. It also allowed her to swim SO much faster than she had been able to do in the river. And here here were no bugs or lizards or snakes or other manner of creatures to look out for! It was a luxury beyond anything she had ever imagined. Then there was the hot tub. Shockingly simple and utterly breath-stealing. She had sat in it the first time until her fingers went pruny and she laughed until she was silly. She had slept like a babe that night. She had shared the location of the pool with everyone, and now they all enjoyed it.
So it was that Tesara knew that with another long, brutal day ahead of her helping the wounded at the apartment bomb site, she would need all of her strength, wits and energy to do it. She had gone to Astra's room that morning to confer that Astra would also be coming with her to the bomb site to continue helping the wounded. They had packed Roza in her marvelous little hover-pram and had taken them both to the hot tub. After a few minutes of silent bliss and the relaxation of her muscles from yesterday's tense goings on, she sighed quietly and looked at her friend.
"So...I've been thinking about maybe registering to be a student at the Baklid Academy." She said quietly. "I'm not 100% sold on it yet, but that library...." She trailed off, remembering. She glanced at Astra to see her reaction.

Astra smiled at her. " that would be wonderful news. Though I wonder what has you worried about joining?" Astra asked. She look over to Roza who hovered only a few feet away. The baby was happily entertaining herself with some toy or another. Astra smiled and looked back to tesara.
" does something about becoming a student scare you. They are good people you know they would never hurt." she asked. She looked over at her friend with a smile. Stylying at the jedi academy with Tesara that would be so much fun. It would be like studying with Roza again. " I mean sometime the other students can be mean but it will be ok. If anyone messes with you ill deal with them" she said with a grin. Trying to tea sure her friend.

Tesara chuckled a little and shook her head. "No, I am not afraid of any mean students who might mess with me. I'm worried that I will be pushed into some kind of neutral mode by the Jedi and told not to get involved. I can't do that anymore. I cannot ignore the suffering and stand back and let it happen. I have to get involved, to push for what's right. I am a peacekeeper and I am good at it, but I am tired of just being told to stay out of it, don't get involved, et cetera." She sighed and leaned back stretching her long legs in the tub, feeling her toes hit the opposite side. It was heaven.

Astra smiled " the jedi are neutral in this issue that does not mean we have to be. The jedi do not get to choose the actions on their individual members that's our choice" she said with a smile.

"Hmm" Tesara hummed thoughtfully. "But there are ideals and dogma that are taught and there are certain...expectations of students." She frowned, opened her eyes and turned to look at Astra. "Wait I just realized something. What is the difference between a student at an academy and a padawan?"

" im not totally sure. I mean students tend to have more class based training wail a padawan has a master and more indavual one on one lessons. Student are usually being prepared for the jedi corps, as where padawans are headed for night hood." Astra said it was clear she was not 100% sure of her answer. " im sorry im not totally sure anymore once I became a padowone I was to busy to pay close attention to the difrince. Though Quinn may be able to answer that question for you next time we see him" Astra sigested.

" they are healers, soldiers, explores. It really depends on which one a person joins. Jesi knights are much fewer in number so the Cops fill in where the jedi knight's can not" she said wondering if she was making sence. " its a little complicated but those who don't get selected for the gathering can ether leave the academy or become part of the jedi corps" she said.

As always, Tesara pushes for more information. Her family and friends used to groan at her endless questions. "I'm sorry if I am bugging you." She looked a little guilty. "There's just so much I don't know about how these things work. I'm constantly asking questions until everyone around me wants to slap the heck out of me. Sinya nearly did." She smiles weakly. "I'm confused about the gathering. Is that something that only someone who wants to become a knight strives to do? What happens if they want to be a knight but aren't selected for the gathering? Is that just...it? They've failed to become a knight and therefore have to go on to choose a position in the Corps?"

Astra smiled " your questions could never bother me" she said with a smile. Though her question about the gathering. That memory was bitter sweet. " esentluly you remember when I told you I had to fight to go on the gathering. There are only so may spaces the usually only consider Noble builder for the gathering. At the time I was an orphan I had appealed to the counsel and tried to get set to the gathering for three year. The Master in charge of the dorm I was in tried to convince me to chose on of the corps that my path did not have to end there. Two hours later I was a doped by the sereno family. I was one of the luckily ones the sereno family has only ever adopted two other students" she said a sad smile on her face. She used the orfce to call her lightsaber to her. " I was so excited. 13 year old me could never imagine the path it would send me down. It's part of why are lightsabers are so important. They are a part of us and extension of who we are" she said setting the weapon down on the lege behind them. " Tesara how dose the gathering work where your from" Astra asked.

Tesara smiled fondly at Astra. "I understand now. It's like a battle for a spot at the gathering, and if you don't get a spot, you try again the following year. I suppose you'd probably continue each year until a certain point where they say no more. Hmm." She again looked thoughtful. "I had no such thing. Durro crashed on our planet and his ship could not be repaired to leave. He stayed there, learned to live and survive on his own for a long time before the poison from the broken ship made its way to our village and began destroying the fish and plants. That was when the Yilsaani sent me to be an offering to the "demon". Who turned out to be Durro. He saved my life. He trained me as his Padawan for five years before the pirates came. He defeated them and we took their ship to leave." She sighed a little. "I left behind everything I knew, but I did it because I believed what he taught me. That making peace was the way. To be in balance with the force...to do its will. That is why I wanted to become a Jedi like he was. But when I came here to Baklid and saw so much suffering and pain, I knew I had to stay here. I had to help." She smiles at Roza as the baby gurgles and giggles to herself nearby. "Now I have the chance to enter a traditional Jedi academy but...Astra, I'm not a green youngling. I'm a grown woman who knows how to fight, who knows how to be one within the Force. I want to learn more but I fear that I would be pigeonholed at the academy. I don't even know if I would have a place there." She said honestly.

" well we will not know until we try given that you have bonded with a kiber crystal I don't think they would make you just a student. Unfortunately there's only so much I can do to help with that and there's a chance one of your scoler friends will take you under their wing they seamed quite impressed by you " she said. She could see where Tesara was coming from and understand. " if you don't like or enjoy training at the Academy you are allowed to leave at anytime. Tesara I know your a great person and you will be a wonderful Jedi When you and I finally manage to make it to Kinght." Astra said with a grin. She and tesara were both old enough to start thinking about the trials to become Knights but one could never be serten when there trials would actually start.

Tesara smiled widely and leaned her head back against the soft wall of the hot tub. "That library." She sighed wistfully. "I could spend days and days and days in there. There's so much I could learn. I liked the scholars and lore masters there. They were all so kind and patient with me. Not a single irritated sigh of exasperation. It was nice."

"Yes Lore masters usually are?" she said relaxing. almost as if an after thought. " The gathering i dont think i told you what it is? they send the cadets into the ice caves of illam to find and bond with a kiber crystal. I was so revealed to find my crystal I keep wondering what wold happen if i failed to bond with one" astra shook her head with a grin.

"Hmm. So there's no other point to the gathering other than to find a Kyber Crystal? I thought from what you were saying that it was some kind of major event to showcase your skills with the lightsaber or force skills in order to prove your worthiness to continue on the path to being a Knight." She was back to being confused again. "You and I already have Kyber Crystals. So we wouldn't need to even try to go to the gathering in that case. I found my Kyber Crystal on my own. I can always hear it singing to me." She closes her eyes and focuses and of course, can hear the low tones of her crystal within her lightsaber, only a few feet away.

"Ahh" She says, understanding. "Seems like a lot of work to me but..." She shrugs. "Oh lots. I wanted to know more about the Angel and her origins, a little bit about the Delphiniums and how they came to rule Baklid, and a little bit about the Sith." She says, closing her eyes. "Of course I could spend days in there looking up more things. It's all fascinating."

In the distance, the sounds of heavy feet following signaled the arrival of someone. Within moments, a half dress man jogged in to the pool area. His chocolate skin glistened in the ray's of the morning light. His tight fitting pants and muddy boots reflected the endurance jogging that he had just completed. It took no time for the man to be identified as Quinn Vos, the Jedi Hunter who had befriended Astra. As he reached the other side of the pool, it was clear that he had not noticed the two bathing women in the hot tub on the other side. He came to a stop near a chair obscured by the bushes on that side of the pool. Reaching over his head, the Jedi stretched out his muscles showing off his well defined muscle groups and sharp cut body that would normally be concealed under his Hunter Robes. He dreadlocks pulled tightly behind his head, and kept neat. His tattoos covered more than just his face, as one set ran down his chest, and his abs. They continued as if teasing the imagination with their destination.
A cross strap supported a double bladed lightsaber in the center of his back. A surprising revelation considering no one had seen it before. Normally the Jedi Hunter would only show off his two normal lightsabers on his belt. Bending over to continue his after jog stretching, he lacked the normal clumsy mannerism that was comical when he was around Astra. Focused solely on his workout, Quinn was graceful and carried a presence about him that dared others to question the previous assumptions of the man. The man continued his end of run activities as he moved closer to the pool and used the chair to help stretch out his legs.

Tesara instantly froze at the sounds, preparing to pull her lightsaber towards her fingers and jump out of the hot tub the moment they made an appearance. She was half always surging out of the water when Quinn came into view. Again she froze, staring in confused shock at him. What the hell!??!

Astra's face turned bright red. She made a shh gester to Tesara. " I totally forgot to tell you hes staying at the palace now Shh... don't do anything to interrupt him. he said to leave him alone to do his morning exercise and meditation" she whispered. she was half worried Quinn would be angry if he was interrupted.

Tesara gaped in shock at Quinn then at Astra. She was a split second away from yelling WHAT!?!? but juuuust managed to swallow it before it escaped. She blinked several times at her friend, then at Quinn who was obviously clueless that they were even there. She stared at him, taking in everything and filing it away in the massive file cabinet in her mind. Slowly, slowly, she eased herself back into the water as silently as possible and then turned to look at Astra. It was obvious she was flabbergasted but was doing exactly as Astra had asked and not making a sound. Yet.

Tesara arched one eyebrow at Astra and then turned, eyebrow still raised, at Quinn. Cocking her head to the side, she decided to try something. She turned back to Asrta and quietly tried to use the sign language that Nova and Ava had been teaching them. She wasn't sure if it would work or if Astra could understand her, but it was worth a shot. She signed: "He doesn't look like the same nervous guy we know. Those tattoos are WOW." She smirked at her friend, waiting to see if Astra understood.

Quinn pulled one boot up and pulled it off, then set it down next to the chair. He repeated the task removing his next boot. Then pulled off both socks and dropped them over the back of the chair.
After moving it in to sight, it is clear he has his things neatly folded on the chair. A sign of how long he had been working out this morning. As if the sweat dripping from him wasn't enough of a sign.
reached up and pushed down his pants leaving only his underwear. He took his pants and lay them across the back of the chair.
One more stretch as he prepared for a nice hop in the pool chilled by the early morning air.
He turned to see the two woman gazing at him, "wha!" He said in surprise. Taking a step back and reaching for, well anything. He slipped/tripped on one of his muddy boots. The over-compensation sent him in to the pool with all the grace of a one legged bantha.

When Qunn started to take off his panc astra covered her face. That was until she hurd the coalition and opened her eyes in time to see him fall into the pool.
Astra giggled for a moment before leaping from the hot tub into the pool and swimming up to him. " You ok" she asked counsurned.
She probably should not have gone up to him but she did. It was really funny bit she wanted to make sure he did not hurt himself.

Quinn came up for air, suddenly more worried about his ego and pride than the clothes he left on the chair. "Yeah, I am."
He glanced around searching for any other he had missed. He was surprised when Tesara moved to leave, "hey, wait.....um....Tesara," he said almost sure he got the name right. "Don't go," he said softly.
He swam over to the hot tub, "Astra said you had questions about getting training from the Order."

Tesara folded herself into a nearby lounge chair, tucking her feet under gracefully. "I'm considering it. I just need more information." She said. "And I am sorry I laughed at you but....it was pretty funny. You looked all manly and in control and smooth and then BLAM! In the drink. Although if it had been me I probably would have fallen in too, turning around to see my crush watching me." She grinned.

He smiled, "well no one can blame you, it was pretty funny. For this I am sure." Quinn felt his cheeks burn under Tesara's Crush Comment....he tried to compose himself, and failed.
He moved in the water as if kicking his legs softly, even now still trying to carry out his work out, "so there are many different levels a person can join the Order. Take Astra here. She is a full fledged member of the Order," Quinn explained. "There is me, a Hunter, an Order within the Order," he added then paused to dunk his head and fan out his locks.
Coming back up, "The Jedi want to help everyone Force Sensitive to learn to master their gifts and become a benefit to society. We want to teach them the dangers of the darkside and help them avoid it." He smiled at Tesara, "so any Force Sensitive is welcomed to come and take classes. Of course the availability to some classes and teachings are restricted, but only some."

He laughed at her statement then addressed it, "there are a number of ways the Jedi try to teach others about the Force and about how the Force works within our world. Now, if you don't have a lot of credits, don't worry, the Church of the Force can help you with that. Though they do require services in return. Our team worked with a group in the Mid Rim. The world had been hit by a natural disaster and the Church had send their team there to help grow crops, clean up, and set up new schools."

Tesara brightens at that. "Oh that I could do willingly. I mean..." She glances at Astra. "But I swore my allegiance to Astra. I said I would protect her. So I might have to appeal to Ava for a loan and work on paying that back instead. But the idea of doing community service appeals to me."

" I don't see why we can't work around it. Tesara promised to protect the baby and I when we first meet. But she is like my sister now so I could never let her go into danger alone" Astra said. With a smile and clarifying what Tesara was talking about.

Tesara smiles warmly at Astra then looks at Quinn. So I think she's well protected between all of us, but still, I would not feel comfortable leaving her and Roza to work off a student loan. I'll find another way if this is something I want to pursue."

He laughed, "well, my role here is only until the Darksider is either captured or terminated."
"But, back to the subject," he said softly. "The Church has many programs that helps new Force Users to learn their place within the Galaxy. Truthfully speaking, the Church does a lot of really good work, especially in the lower income areas."
He smiled with pride, "my Order has been able to prove that where there is a program ran by the Church, Force using criminal behavior is cut nearly in half."

Tesara remembers the incident when they first arrived on Baklid with the church of the Force and her face shows it briefly, but then she schools her face back to blank interest. "Quinn, what does the order think about the religion of the Angel?"

He waved a hand, "when it comes to meeting those of my Order, It doesn't matter what you believe. If you cross the line, we will find you and bring you back to the light."

Tesara sighs. "Quinn, I have a question about that. What happens to people who go too far in that zealous quest? Daz Murl nearly killed Nova by mind raping her in an attempt to get information. How was that OK? It WASN'T. Doesn't anyone realize that the line between the light side and the dark side is razor thin and that someone attempting to catch darksiders can themselves be turned dark?"
"Was Daz ever punished or made to get help for going THAT dark? It was evil, Quinn. What he did was evil."

Quinn got visibly uncomfortable and let out a long sigh, "okay," he said in defeat. "I am not normally aloud to speak of cases, active or otherwise." He shot a look at Astra hoping she could get a hint. "But you don't have all the facts," he said softly.
He moved himself in the pool to make sure that Tesara could see his face, "so gathering information from a subject can be a difficult task. Your friend," he said unsure of Nova's status. "Well she was tied up in some pretty bad things." He held up a hand to beg for time to explain. "I wasn't part of the case, that wasn't given to our team. But when Astra first mentioned it to me, I did some digging. Her link to the Black Swan was the single best lead the Republic has had in over a year. Your friend is lucky that is all that she suffered."
Once more, a deep sigh of disappointment. "You are right, the line between light and dark is razor thin," he said with a eye on Astra. "Daz Murl crossed that line when he ordered Nova's execution. A Hunter Team was dispatched, he tried to run, they caught him. He was captured and taken to Starlight. However Starlight was attacked and he escaped along with several other prisoners. That Team was called back to hunt him down."
His gaze hit Tesara, "yes what he did was wrong and he will be brought in for it. But that doesn't excuse Nova and her bomb making. There is currently no judgement against her from my Order due to her MC Count. But that doesn't make her an innocent person here. She is just as evil and wrong as Murl is."

Tesara listens, a myriad of thoughts swirling in her head. She knew this about Nova, but it wasn't as black and white as that. "Nova is not evil. She made some bad choices. We all make bad choices. Hers just led to some really bad stuff. But since then she has not done a single damn thing to cause anyone to think she is evil. It's not quite so black and white, Quinn. Daz Murl escaped Starlight and now is out there somewhere causing havoc likely. Nova cooks and bakes and researches things and sleeps. Is that evil?"

Quinn smiled as he watched Astra jump in to the conversation, "Nova sabotaged a shuttle that killed six people when it crashed." He moved in the pool to ensure that his posture wasn't aggressive or defensive. He made a mental check to ensure that his tone wasn't anything more than normal. "She made a bomb that could have killed many more. Daz orders her execution because one of those killed was close to him," he looked down as it unsure about a fact, "though if my gut is right, they were lovers." His eyes went back to Tesara, "you are right people make mistakes. You called Daz Murl evil, yet he killed no one. Yes he crossed the line, and for that needs to be brought in."
"Please forgive me, but where are the two persons different? Or are you only angry at Murl because he hurt your friend?" He blinked as he watched her carefully waiting for her reply.

((OOC: I don't know if Tesara knew about these events. At this point in the game, Tesara was all head over heels...I mean learning from Durro lol JK, Okay seriously, no this isn't about the heads. This is about the bomb Nova made for the Terrorist Cell, and the two shuttles that she and Sinya sabotaged. One actually crashed killing the crew and passengers. That is actually what got her caught in the first place.))

" perhaps they are not that different and tesara Has every right to be angry he hurt Nova. Just as Murl has a right to be angry she killed his friend. However, how those emotions are acted on is what makes them light or dark. Tesara may be angry with him but she has not acted on that fealing. Murl acted on his feelings and crossed the line. Tesara No one is saying he should not be dealt with. But she should have the chance to redeem him self like Nova has. Every one should get a second chance" she said quietly.

Tesara is staring at Quinn and there is an intesity there that was not there before. The color is slowly draining from her face. "I didn't know that." She whispers. "I didn't know she had done that." Suddenly the knowledge of this makes her head swim and she feels nauseous. All the times she had had this bizarre negative energy between herself and Nova and she had never really understood it. She had tried so hard to prove to the girl that she wasn't a threat, she wasn't a Jedi like Daz Murl was. But she had no idea what Nova had done. And now that she thought of it, Nova had come right out and said that if Tesara wasn't willing to trust Ava and help her, perhaps she should leave. She felt her stomach pitch and she gripped the chair. She glanced at Roza and suddenly fear hit her. "Why would she have done that? What possible motivation could she have had for doing such a thing!?" She gasps out.
Then another thought comes on the heels of that one. Sinya. She hadn't wanted to admit that Sinya had done some pretty awful things in her life. She had wanted to believe that Sinya was only struggling because of the horrible things done to her as a child. But was Sinya a darksider? Had that line been crossed and she hadn't known it? She stood shakily. "I need...." She felt unsteady. "I don't know what I need."
Sinya had saved her life! Sinya could have easily let her die that day. "No." She whispered, then sat back down heavily. "Nothing is black and white."

Quinn nodded to Astra, "and that is why my Order exists, Astra. And yes, everyone deserves a second chance. A chance to redeem themselves." He frowned and looked to Tesara, "you don't have to worry about Nove, she doesn't fall under the jurisdiction of the Jedi, but I wanted you to know the Truth." He shook his head, "I don't know why she choose to do the things she did. I just know that she made the bomb. Her fingerprints as well as security vids place her and a Twi'lek Female working on the very shuttle that crashed. This Twi'lek, named Ann, took responsibility for the sabotage, but Daz believed differently."
"Look Tesara, I understand where your anger comes from. I really do. She is your friend," he said softly with kind eyes. "But for us, Hunters, we have to look deeper than just what we want to believe. We have to look in to the very heart of darkness its self to find the truth. That is what Daz did," there was a sad acceptance to his voice, "And in that moment of anger and grief, he crossed the line."
He blinked at her, "can I ask you something, what of the families of those she murdered? You demand that Murl be dealt with or even punished." He softened his voice noticeable not to offend. "Should Nova not be punished? Or should she just be allowed to walk free? Daz Murl is being hunted, he will have that over his head until they kill him or bring him in. There is no where he will be safe from their hunt. Yet," he motions to the Palace, "Nova lives here. What would you tell the families of those she harmed."

Tesara shakes her head. "I can't answer that, Quinn. I am not a deity with the power to decide who is forgiven and who is punished." She stands again, a little more solid than before. "You've given me a lot to think about." She says. "But now I have to go get ready to help people injured in the bombing again." She glances at Astra. "I'm sorry I made your morning awkward. I seem to do that a lot." She says, but there is something miserable behind her eyes. "I will talk to you later when I get back from the bomb site." She turns to Quinn. "Thank you for telling me what you did. I can only act on what I know, and I did not know about those bombs you say she made. I can tell you that I do not condone that kind of violence. I have no answers beyond that." She turns again to go away from the pool and garden.

"Tesara," Quinn called out stopping her. "I know what I said. But it was only to show you something about your demands and anger. I believe you when you say Nova is a different person today. We will bring Murl in, and he will be brought back from the darkness," there was confidence in his voice as he spoke. "I hope that in your heart, you can forgive the man for succumbing to his emotions." He looked at her and hoped that the words he had heard his sister utter to others would help her. His sister was truly the artist when it came to speaking.

Tesara frowns. "You misread me. I wasn't angry, just shocked. I don't get angry easily. My training with--" She pauses. "I've learned to control my emotions and don't get angry often. What you told me stunned and hurt me, that's all."

He choose to say nothing more as he watched the two women speak. He pulled back a bit to give them privacy.

Astra looked at quinn " Quinn you need to be carefully there's a man in a white sute that hangs around the primminister. He is a force user, when ava and I want to meet with the prime he picked me out as a threat very quikly. There's sumthing about him that just screams danger I wanted you to know." She said as she walked over to her chair picking up her towl so she could dry off and put her robes back on over her swim suit.
She checked the pocket of her robes pulling her fathers Kiber crystal from with in to look at it making sure it was still there. Before turning to realise she left her lightsaber by to pool. She returned to where she had left it. " you will be careful right" she asked Quinn.
