Jedi Re synchronizing 8/29/21

Durro sits in his quarters aboard the Jupiter 1, a pot of tea before him, meditating on what he has heard over the last few days. One common anchor point in all of the branching threads... Tesara. He reaches out through the Force, without breaking meditation, and connects with her.
"Tesara. Come to my quarters. Join my meditation."

Tesara had been expecting this.  If he had not reached out to her within the next hour she was going to request a meditation meeting with him herself.
I am on my way.
She arrives a moment later, her own room only just down the hall from his.  She enters his room quietly.

"Sit down. Have some tea." The smile was apparent with the tone of voice.

"It's been a while since we've compared notes. I know I've not been your only teacher lately, nor have I asked you what you've learned. It showed when we were planning with Sinya."
After a moment of quiet, he continues.
"You had very strong opinions about Astra's involvement and about the soundness of the plan in general. What do you know that I'm unaware of?"

Tesara makes herself a cup of tea then sits down across from him, closing her eyes and focusing her thoughts. She takes a few moments to center herself in the Force, then opens her eyes and drinks the tea.
“It’s true that I have learned a number of things while staying at the Summer Palace with Ava and Astra and yes, Quinn Vos.  Astra herself invited him to come live at the palace. It was only the matter of about a week before the two of them fell head over heels in love with each other. I learned a great deal of information about how the hunters operate, what their mandate is, and what their philosophy is on the dark side. Since we did not have hunters in our universe, it was eye-opening indeed.”  She sips her tea then sets it down.  “Lord Hoth announced a mandate at his victory that the hunters would search, find, and rehabilitate or eradicate any dark siders. For them, there is absolutely no gray area. Either you are light or you are dark.  They work closely with the church of the force which was also founded by Lord Hoth, I believe.  The intensity with which they operate is unparalleled in our universe.”  She pauses for a moment considering her own words. “ actually my knowledge of our world off of Lanus is limited, so it is a possibility that what I just said is not true.  However, these people are trained practically from birth to learn how to observe and hunt dark siders.  They created Starlight prison as a way to….rehabilitate anyone who has been accused of dark side acts.  They are singularly focused upon eradicating the Darkside of the force.  Thousands of years of this training being passed down through generations and generations has caused it to be an impossible task to make them believe otherwise.”  She pauses again. “There is more, but I will wait to see if you have any questions about what I have said.”

Durro's face does not change, he did not break meditation when Tesara entered, nor when she made tea, nor when she spoke. In her head, she hears;
"What of the vaults of carbonite slabs? Did Quinn tell you about that? How do they decide who to help, and who to freeze in a living hell?"

She sips her tea again, thinking.  “While he himself did not speak to me of the carbonite slabs, it’s common knowledge because of the holonet shows that feature of these hunters. There have also been hundreds of those shows throughout the years and they are very popular in the core. These people are deemed heroes, and anyone they hunt is automatically evil. While I myself have never seen any of these holonet shows, the idea that darksiders are encased in Carbonite is well known.  As to how they decide my only understanding of what I have been told by Quinn as well as master Wynium at the Jedi academy on Baklid, is that anyone who does not accept their teachings/rehabilitation is deemed unsavable and encased in Carbonite.”

Not only would Quinn not have helped us but neither he or Astra would keep silent about your plan. They would have immediately reported it to the hunters and then you would be deemed dark siders.

Tesara breathes in tandem with the push and pull of the Force.  Inhaling and exhaling slowly, bringing herself back to center once more.
Yes I very much wanted to avoid you all walking into a trap.  I didn't want you going to StarLight to try and break anyone out and end up a prisoner there yourselves.  Sinya has already escaped once and even though she hates me right now, I would never want her to be sent back there again.
Durro can sense the pain inside Tesara at her betrayal of Sinya.  She had had to do it, but it had killed her.  There were rarely people she desired respect from and Sinya had been one of them.  That was a hope now gone.  She bit her lip as she felt the pain, acknowledged it and let it fade back down into a place where she would deal with it later. Then once more she brought herself back to alignment within the Force.
I understand your frustration with Astra, but you did not know any of the circumstances before agreeing to Sinya's plan nor any idea how deeply entrenched she had become with the hunters in such a short amount of time.  I was so astonished at your willingness to do this, though.  I know you want to free Queen Lenora, and that is a noble cause.  it is not one that will get you thrown into StarLight for even daring to go against the hunters.  But trying to break anyone out of StarLight... is extremely dangerous and  bordering on folly.  StarLight is a power they wield.  Even if you succeed you would be hunted to the ends of the earth and if caught, might mean carbonite, and I cannot allow that to happen to anyone, not you, not Nova or Sinya or any of her crew.
She shifted slightly.
Are you really planning on freeing Lysire's mother, Durro?

"...Remember what I taught you about negotiations and agreements Tesara, especially between people who disagree. A good deal between misaligned parties means nobody walks away happy. You have to give a little to get a little. You get some of what you want, and they get some of what they want. That was my mindset when making the deal with Sinya; she helps me free the Queen, I help her free their mothers. Even if I thought that freeing Lysire's mother was a bad idea, and I did think that. After what I heard a few hours ago; I am not sure that should be on the table. I would still like Sinya's help, but freeing Lysire's mother is a bad idea, as I suspected."
The Force swirls, as if Durro is gathering himself.
"Though I don't think she would be much help to them. A person frozen in carbonite is still conscience, their mind still active and awake, though they are in complete sensory deprivation. Lysire's mother has been in this state for decades; I am willing to bet her mind snapped a long time ago. As have the minds of most of the prisoners. Sinya's mother is in the general population; her rescue should be simple and I am willing to help with that. Lysire's mother..."

"...Lysire's mother is far too dangerous. Insane plan even before; now she is likely insane. Driven mad by decades of carbonite hibernation."

"Tell me more about the Hunters. What would I be in for if they pinned this jail break on me?"

Tesara thinks for a moment before answering.
Before I say more on the hunters, I was considering doing a farseeing meditation that would focus solely on the Family.  The Father, The Son and The Daughter.  Ask the Force to reveal to me if what the Shaman said tonight is true or Nashik from the desert people that is right.  They are in opposition to one another.  It is possible there are truths and falsehoods on both sides.  I am relieved to hear that you agree that freeing Lysire's mother is a terrible idea.  It is also one that you will earn emnity from Sinya for.  Yes, her own mother deserves to leave with her daughter if she so chooses.  I am not altogether certain that the general population hasn't been brainwashed into believing that they are safe and protected there from the...evils? of the outer world.  So I also fear that going to Sinya's mother may result in the woman not being willing to leave.  That would break Sinya's heart.  I pray I am wrong on that.  She deserves happiness...her life has been nothing but pain and hardship.  And along those same lines, I am also not sure if the Queen will be of sound mind and body either.  It was rumored that the Sorreno Jedi tortured her mind to find the Sorreno Legacy Crystal.  There is no way of knowing if she survived with her mind intact.
Once again he can feel sorrow from her, but once again it is felt, acknowledged and set aside.
As for the hunters, if they pinned any attempt at a jail break, failed or no, if you left StarLight with or without those you intended to free, they would see it as a malicious attack upon the Light Side and immediately deem you a darksider, which makes you free game to them.  And remember, there are several clans of hunters throughout the galaxy.  A vital piece of information I have not yet revealed is that they have immense mental powers.  Quinn Vos has the ability to see inside one's mind and find the truth.  Or at least, what he sees and believes is the truth.
There are many other clans with other striking abilities in the Force.  You might never know what it is until you're caught in the net of it.
She sighs, hesitant to say this but knowing it is vital information.
Durro, they are taught DarkSide skills in order to combat those who wield them.  And I fear that the drive to hunt actually brings them so close to the Dark Side that the line becomes blurred.  Daz Murl is a perfect example of this.  He went too far by torturing Nova, was sent to StarLight and escaped.  I do not know how, but I suspect Sha Koon was involved.  Sha Koon's hunter clan has wavered to the dark side.  They would never admit it, but it's true.  I had to spend time with him in her office when she stormed out.  I kept my cool and didn't allow him to think I was anyone but a core corporate employee.  He told me a little of what had happened to him on StarLight.  They have the ability to remove the Force from someone, Durro.  Perfectly remove it as if it were never there.

Durro is quiet for a long moment; so long that one might wonder if the connection had been severed. Finally,
"We need more information, in order to make a sound decision and form a solid plan. I still believe Lysire will be safe on Olivan, and for now Sinya seems to agree. We head there next, and I will speak with Master Palpatine and hopefully have many pressing questions answered."
After another long silence, Durro says:
"We should pool our resources. Meditate together on The Family. Would you care to join me?"

Whether or not they allied with the ORA or not is only rumor.  And you saw those ships arrive just as we escaped the venator?  I think those might have been from the ORA, though I cannot be sure.  I do think it would be a good idea to go to Olavan first.  Information is vital to making decisions.  I wish I could go with you, but I am fairly certain Sinya will not allow it.
Again there is sadness, and she knows he feels it.
I have a talisman I bought at the market here that I plan to imbue with the Force.  I wish I could create one for her as a peace offering, though I am not certain it would work for her as it might have to be imbued with her own life force and not mine.
She sighs heavily.
I have many emotions to deal with.  I need to spend some time processing them and allowing them to become less sharp without forcing it.
She smiles at the terrible pun she has just made.

I'm still dealing with the emotions from being forsaken on Lanus, and discovering what the Empire did to the Jedi. Emotions are like the Force itself; beyond understanding. The best we can do is work within what we know; and what I know is that processing emotions in a healthy manner often takes time."

"Lanus is not the right place to do so, though. This planet is steeped in the Dark Side. Perhaps you could come with us to Olivan. If Sinya doesn't want to travel with you, we did just acquire a Nu- class shuttle. Class 1 hyperdrive. We could fly to Olivan separately from the Angel's Blessing. Perhaps being around other Jedi will do you good."

Tesara nods.  Yes, I will heed your advice on the emotions.  And I'll wait to imbue the talisman until we have left.  The Jupiter One is Ava's ship and must go where she says to go.  If I can, I would very much like to go to Olavan. If I cannot do so on the Angel's Blessings, I will see about going on the shuttle.

The Force swirls around as the chanting of a few grows into many voices, a thunderous chant echoes in the mind, “Faithful Always, they shall remain.”

There were cheers that washed down from the flight deck, “Praise the Angel,” cried Jazz, “Its rain!”

“Lysire,” Sinya called back, “you’re doing it!”

The Jawas, even the Rodian were celebrating the miracle. On the canopy of the Flight deck, rain washing down with the world scape of Lanus in the background. It was raining on Lanus!

For Lysire, she sat at her station her hands gripping the edges with white knuckles. Her face strained with effort. Her eyes, her eyes were sunken and black, with tiny star like orbs somewhere in the middle of them.

There was a loud thunderclap and flash of lighting as the rainstorm grew. The cheers continued as com-traffic confirmed what the crew was seeing. It was in fact raining on Lanus, and not just here, but other cities were also reporting the miracle.

As Lysire focused beyond the moment, one of the Jawas came up to her and looked at her. The alert could be heard in its tone. Sinya replied swiftly, “give her, her medicine now!” As the Jawa set a patch on Lysire’s exposed arm, Jazz followed up, “she did her part, let her sleep.”

The echo of the broadcast fills the mind as the vision fades, “I can’t believe it, hundreds dead. The destruction is complete!

"Well, that answered nothing." he says calmly, though Tesara knows him well enough to detect the faintest hint of frustration. "Who is trapped inside Lysire? A part of the Daughter, or part of the Mother?"

Tesara feels a surge of alarm up her spine as the vision fades away.  She hears him speak, but blinks at him.  “Did you not see the last part?”  She asks, a little astonished.  “Hundreds dead, the destruction complete? And Lysire’s eyes… did you see her eyes?”  Tesara closes her own, recalling the pinpoints of light in the blackness.  “Durro, I’m not so sure it matters anymore. Whatever or whoever it is will bring death and destruction if Lysire creates rain on Lanus.  I believe that rain may not be water, but something far more deadly.”  She says quietly.

Tesara takes his hand and rises.  She wipes a hand over her face, tucking her braids over her shoulder.  "Yes, Olavan is our next stop.  I know Sinya will not accept my apology, but I did what I did because of what I knew that she did not and if it keeps her and Lysire out of StarLight, I would do it again."  She sighs and steps back.  "And now I am going to go deal with all of those emotions so they don't cloud my senses later.  Let me know what the plan is so I am ready.

Durro summons his lightsaber from his bag and levitates it over his open palm. The saber comes apart in mid air, and the blue kyber crystal extracts itself and levitates softly towards Tesara. The lightsaber reassembles itself and floats down onto the small table opposite the bunk.
"Here. This crystal is mine, imbued by me here on Lanus. You can feel an echo of my presence when you connect to it. Use it as a grounding presence as you meditate and work through your emotions. Know the I will always be here to guide you, in some form or another. As will the Force."

Tesara is honored by the gesture. “Thank you, master.”  She says picking it up.  It’s quiet hum in her mind is comforting.  “Just don’t go Sinya without an active weapon.”  She smiles, but there is sadness there.  “Good luck.”

He gestures for the door.
"You should get some rest. Your emotions can be meditated on in the morning."
As Tesara leaves, Durro takes out his comm and sends Sinya a text message for her to see in the morning:

"As for our plans, they remain unchanged. We're going to Olavan. Sinya is not likely going to want passengers, so Tesara and I will take the shuttle."
He sits at the table and looks at Nova.
"Speaking of which; I'd like you to help me go over its systems, if you're willing. Help me change the security codes, disable the tracking systems from the mothership, and ensure the navicomputer is in working order. I love flying, but I'm not a career pilot, and I doubt Sinya or Ryan will help me. You are good with computers, so I thought I'd ask you."

After hearing where Durro planned to go, Nova stopped being excited. "Oh..." She then looked at Durro and Tesara. "Um well yeah I could fix the shuttle for you." She glanced at Tesara, "Ava wanted to talk to you Tesara but in light of everything, it might be better to just call her back now."

Nova sighed, "Well I guess if we all are heading in the same direction." She finally sat down. "Ava plans to go to Olavan after she is voted into the parliament. She is going there for peace talks to get them to stop attacking Baklid. She has requested the Jupiter One in a few days. So until that day comes, we are on stand-by, getting supplies and anything we can think of until she is ready."

Tesara frowned.  "Ava going to Olavan is dangerous, as she would have to get past the attacking ships through the shield.  And she would need highly trained security with her at all times."  She turns to Durro.  "It looks like the Angel's Blessings and your new ship will be going to Olavan and Ryan will be taking the Jupiter One back to Baklid."  She turned back to Nova.  "Is the time on Baklid such that Ava would be awake if I called her?  I would hate to wake her in the middle of the night."

Nova listened as Tesara spoke so she smiled when asked, "Yeah she is up. I didn't ask the time since it was not relevant." She then smiled softly, "Ava knows of the risks wanting to go for peace talks but she wants to and I will help her do it. I can get to work on the shuttle and make sure it is good before you leave."

"Do you want to go now, or wait until morning?"
He raises the hood on his cloak and makes for the door.
"Either way, I think I'll go check on the shuttle. Make sure everything is good for tomorrow."
The ramp lowers on the Jupiter 1.

"But breakfast... -sigh- I guess I should get it over with." Nova got up and stretched, "Not sure if you wanted to talk to Lysire but lucky for you, Sinya was awake. She wanted to just check up with me and verify that I was going to be neutral again." Nova got her bag of repair-working tools and computer tools then her cloak as her room was right next to the ramp.

Tesara watched them go and returned to her room.  She closed the door behind her and looked around.  The room was small, but it had been the first place she had called home when she had left her own Lanus.  She had a room for herself at the Summer Palace of course, but this room would always hold good memories. She didn’t know how long it would be before she saw it again. She laid down on her bed and pulled up Ava‘s information on her commlink and pressed call.

Leaving Roza behind wouldn't be wise which is why I would bring Fihn or have Ryan watch her or both " now thinking soloy Ryan watching roza wasn't the best idea. Jedi Master Palpatine sorry. Sure Olavan is taking skilled people right now and willing to pay them for their skills but would he even dare to show himself in front of a crowd like that? Knowing full well that spies are a thing."

Nova softly giggled  at his look before working some more. Being quiet again before hearing him ask about Olavan, "Only what Sinya told me after you two were kicked out of her ship. Olavan is and has been at war with the other jedi because back when Kaleb rescued Sinya from starlight, apparently Olavan was being blockaded and they wanted General Graff back or something to that extent. I could do more research however you wanted your new shuttle done." She explained as she continued with her work for a few more moments with silence before speaking again. "However I can say one thing, even showing up at Olavan's doorstep is dangerous for you right now. As the hunters think you are already in leagues with them and going there and being seen on the planet, will only confirm their suspicions."
