Captain's Ready Room
Captain Campbell and LT CMDR V'rol
The Captain entered his ready room, the LT Commander was already waiting for him inside. "LT Commander", the Captain said, "Take a seat, I'll only be a moment", he gestured to the couch on the right side of the room before he walked over toward the cabinets on the left. The Captain noticed that V'rol wasn't standing just inside the door like he usually did, a welcome sight.
Campbell took out a glass bottle half full of brown liquid and two glasses. He poured a small amount of the liquid into each glass with more care than one would have expected and placed the bottle back where he had gotten it from. Campbell walked back to the Vulcan and offered him one of the glasses.

V'rol took a pair of steps to the couch, taking a seat and accepting the glass holding it in his hands. "Captain, before you begin I would like to state that the admiral's conclusion that I supported his position was incorrect. I, in-fact, believe that it is the least logical assumption to assume that they did not escape, and operating under that assumption is what you would call wishful thinking. I would like your permission to work with engineering to purpose the deflector array with the subspace antennae to emit a pulse that will resonate with the ull composition of the Susquanilla. I doubt it would be expected, and will give away we know their position, but it would give us their location. As stated in the briefing she must have set down for repairs and from the damage, likely not far from here. We can do this while simultaneously following the directives given to us."

The Captain sat in one of the armchairs next to the couch. He crossed his right ankle over his left knee and place his glass on top of his calf. He considered what V'rol had recommended and figured it was as good a shot as any. "If you think it will speed along this search I'm all for it." The captain took a drink, it was smooth and sweet on his tongue and warmed his belly. "I also find it difficult to believe she is still in this area. She seems too smart to be trapped so easily. Honestly, I think were wrong about her entirely but that will be a discussion for another time."
The Captain leaned forward, "I called you in here for two reasons. First, I'm promoting you to XO, congratulations. I'm sorry there isn't more time to celebrate but this drink will have to Suffice." The captain raised his glass before Downing the drink. "Second, I need you to peform the Vulcan mind meld on me. There are memories from my past that I do not have access to that I need to know about".

The Captain sat his glass down on the table.
"Commander Bonham has been given another assignment, he is the new CAG. He is a fine XO but I believe he will help us prove what this ship is capable of in his new role. I do not know a better pilot." Suddenly, the Captain looked stern, almost angry, "As for the mind mild, I do not need you to be discrete, I want answers. I trust you are not one to gossip?". The Captain posed this as a question but did not wait for an answer. "Besides, I refuse to let some medical officer play inside my skull before trying to make me a new subject in a science journal. Not when I have another option available to me. Doctors!" He almost spat.

RE: Captain's ready room
The captain closed his eyes and felt V'rol hand touch his face. he breathed deeply. the first memory struck him like a fist to the midsection. he was a house as a child playing and Maura was there, just about the same age as him. they were playing together, his parents had come into the room and were watching them, both smiling. Jackson felt happy and safe. more images and memories flashed through his mind. the say seona was brought home, not as an infant but as a little girl only a few years younger than him and Maura. she had instantly became his sister, he remember his desire to keep her safe.
The memories did not stop. He remember all the times they had to go to the doctor and being sick, Maura had been so much worse than him, he was afraid she would die. he hated the doctors for hurting her, but he could do nothing to stop them. A whirlwind of emotions slammed into Jackson again and again. The love he had for Maura and Seona, the fear that something might happen to them. He remember the connection he had with both of them, like he could feel what they felt or know what they knew. He remembered his love for both of them. This is what hurt him most now. How much he had loved them and someone had stolen that from him.
He remember everything. even the day they were stolen from him. That and so much more. When V'rol pulled his hand away the Captain tried to stand but his legs were shaky and he almost fell. V'rol stood with him and kept him from falling. Tears rolled down the Captains face as he looked at V'rol, "Thank you" the words were barley a whisper and Jackson wasn't sure they had passed his lips at all but the Vulcan nodded.
Jackson would be indebted to this man forever, the memories he had return to him were invaluable and he would not soon forget this day. When the room stopped spinning so fast the Captain released V'rol. "I'd like to be alone for a little while, please see that I am not disturbed" and with that the Captain walked through the door tot he right of his desk and was gone.
