Ice Cream Social
Inter-ship Message to Ensign Skytower

From Lieutenant Jr. Noonia.

Subject: Ice Cream Social.

Body of Message
<

Hello Ensign Skytower,

I am concerned about Morale. Do you think we could have something like an Ice Cream Social to bring people together from across the different sections?

Sincerely,

Mordecai Noonia.
Lieutenant Jr. of USS Thunderchild

Lylliana quietly entered the ensign quarters, the lights dim as other had not woken up yet. Having just spent time in the holo-deck, she knew she could use a good shower. She stepped quietly into the showers, having the water turn on and the stream of steamy liquid cascade over the firmly toned muscles of her neck and back. She sighed, reaching back with both hands behind her back, thumbs coming to press firmly against the hairline. Slowly she would try to persuade the muscles to release their built up tension, eyes closed just enjoying the warmth of the water. She just stood beneath the falls, letting the water run as she lost herself in thought. I wonder if there are any other simulations I could get my hands on. ....Perhaps I need to look into programming some more complex sequences....What about Lt. Noonia's simulation over Commander Bonham's decisive action? ... Several thoughts cascaded through her mind, before she realized the water had shut off. She shook her head and grabbed a towel, walking back to the bunk to find her PADD.

Lylliana sat down, and found that she had a message waiting for her. She blinked a few times, checking the time and date not realizing she had received a message prior. Her eyes skimmed and nodded, "An Ice Cream Social? " What did Lt. Noonia have in mind? She scratched her head, and laid on her back for a moment, her PADD laying on her face.

She lifted the PADD from her face with a scowl. She stuck her tongue out at the message before hitting reply,

Inter-ship Message to Lieutenant Jr. Noonia

From Ensign Skytower

Lt. Jr. Noonia,

Message Received. We should further discuss your concerns for morale and this 'Ice Cream Social' idea of yours. When and where are you available to meet? Please reply with a time and place to meet best suited to your schedule.

-Ensign Skytower
Recreations Officer

A few last taps to her PADD and off the message went. She shrugged, not knowing what most others, except third shift were doing at 4 in the morning. She thought about it only for a moment, as she turned over, and decided it best to go to sleep.

Checked his PADD personal messages, and noticed that there was a recieved message from Ensign Skytower. His idea had spawned out of a meeting, thinking the best route might be something light and fun for the crew. It might not pan out, but at least it was an attempt at inner-ship unity.

Ensign Skytower,

I'm available at this time, and the Recreation Deck shall be a good place.

Lylliana lay in bed, having just closed her eyes, trying to force herself to sleep. The unfortunate side effect of an over active mind, sleeplessness. She sighed, turning over, pulling the sheet over her shoulder, trying as she might to sleep, until she heard a soft ping noise come from her PADD. "Who... " she turned and grabbed the PADD, seeing a message waiting for her. She opened and eyes scanned the screen in surprise. "I guess I'm not the only insomniac." was her only comment as she shrugged with a sigh, and slid her feet out out of the bunk and firmly on the floor. She wasn't one for informal wear around people, but she really didn't want to get completely dressed. She pulled on some clean pants, and a short sleeve t-shirt that clearly showed her figure as she pulled the edges of the white shirt tucking them into her pants before pulling on her shoes.

"A late night date huh? " Ja'nell, one of her bunk mates rolled over and smiled a wide mischievous grin. Lylliana scowled at her, "No. I have a meeting to discuss an event for the crew with Lt. Jr. Noonia. Go back to sleep, and don't wake the others.. " she whispered harshly to her, "And keep your voice down.."

Ja'nell had a way of twisting anything into her girly ways, and had sworn the moment she had met Lylliana she would see her on a date, even if she had to gag her and strap her to a chair. "Just you wait Skytower, I will have my way with you... " she giggled, wiggling her fingers at Lylliana as she sunk back down on the top bunk pulling her covers back over herself watching Lylliana from the ledge. Lylliana rolled her eyes, grabbing her pad and jacket as she walked out of the quarters towards the Recreations Deck. She quickly responded as she walked though the corridors.

Lt. Jr. Noonia,

On my way.

Lt. Jr. Noonia wasn't in a uniform at the moment. He was in his Civilians, considering it was the easiest thing to toss on late at night. Quietly scanning the area, considering his plan for everyone. It wasn't back home, so drinking and being capable of going back to work was off the table. The Ice Cream Social was a way to experience a little bit of Humanities oddities, while also enjoying time with others. He figured the Ensign would be able to smooth his rough idea and make it more appealing. All he had was the rudimentary idea. Dressed in jeans and a shirt, he started to play with the on deck gravity, testing it by walking across with his feet sliding. It was always an interesting sensation to him, artificial gravity that was optimized only in one direction.

Lylliana came round the corridor swiftly and quietly until she came to the door of the Rec Deck. She straightened her jacket, making sure her shirt was tucked in and PADD in hand. She tossled a hand through her hair before having the door open a taking a step inside, spotting Noonia already there. She took her initial step, lifting her hand to give a wave and within seconds was sliding across the floor on her ass.

"What the... " she exclaimed. It took her a couple seconds to gather herself, and look over at Noonia, "Did you? " she tried pushing herself up to her feet, "mess with the gravity settings Lieutenant? " she asked in surprise, finding her balance. This would be so much better if I didn't have my shoes on.. a faint smile coming to her lips as she thought about sliding around in just her socks, something she really hadn't done since early childhood.

Turned to look upon Ensign Skytower as she made her grand entrance. Noonia was wearing only his socks at the moment, doors neatly tucked near the localized gravity console that he had fiddled with to get this sort of effect. Kicking to do a sort of slide over, he stopped himself roughly five feet away. "I was just....thinking. Back when I was on my parents Scow, I liked to take a small room like this and make it this way...." he confessed a bit sheepishly.

Lt. Jr. Mordecai Noonia looked rather relaxed at the moment, though there was a bit of tension about his shoulders that was more of recent events than her presence. He gestured around. "So....Ice Cream Social. We could hammer out the ideas much easier this way, face to face, then shooting messages back and forth." Noonia stated.

Lylliana grimaced a little as she stood, rubbing her bum as she wasn't expecting the sudden change, "Yeah... much better face to face... " she agreed in a somewhat sarcastic tone, "Quiet the welcoming. " she continued, before turning to him. She straightened her jacket, trying to keep her balance, as she pushed her hair from her face, "Well, this would be quiet the experience for anyone. Could you isolate it down to a smaller area? " she questioned looking around, "Perhaps if we were to section off part of the deck? Gravity ice skating with a little bit of ice cream in the mix. " she chuckled, "All we need is some snow... " her voice trailed off as she took a look around the deck, trying to imagine the crew coming together, all bundled in winter wears. She could almost smell the pines, and the crisp, wintery air.

She cleared her throat, turning her attention back to Lt. Jr. Noonia, "I'm sorry... What was your idea again? Or at least, what exactly were you wanting to accomplish, and what did you see happening? " her blue hues scanned his face, and physic, watching his movements ready to take notes.

Didn't feel much chastised. With a slow kick over, he localized it to a back square, and then set the lighting to illuminate it. "We're isolated as sections. I want to bring the ship closer together. Like a family." He drifted off, fingertips against the controls. He then toggled it off, leaving the settings as clearly marked so that others could. His back was facing her as he did all of this. "So, the best question is how to get a multi cultural crew together."

As she was finally able to walk around, she looked at the space and her padd, taking notes and planning layout. "Dessert makes almost everyone happy. " she spoke. She just continued to look around, drawing out table layouts for design flow, for people to move about and mingle. She felt something missing though. That key element.

She looked about. The space felt so empty. Space is empty you numskull "What if we had pillow circles where people could sit, enjoy stories, and relax? " she asked allowed, and drew up three different spaces, also allowing the set up of another table for warm drinks like cider and cocoa, "It would be snowing on earth right about now... " her last few words she spoke softly, trailing off again, almost as though she meant to keep them to herself.
