Character/Family Background
Born on Acrux, Eric had a noble upbringing through the time when he came of age. Heading off to the university on world he studied leadership doing just enough to pass the classes, but not spending much time on the coursework for the administration side of things only doing enough to pass. For him he saw the future clear he was destined to be a knight for the rest of his life unless he made a name for himself commanding a lance of mechs. Young and martial minded he threw himself into his studies, of strategy and tactics seeking to grab the big picture so he knew when to show initiative and when not to.
Spending the time to learn about strategy he realized the importance of Mechs on the battlefield and threw himself into learning all aspects of them inside and out he focused on learning how to handle all kinds of mechs. Spending as much time as he could running drills, making sure he was one that would earn the respect of any lance he lead. Delving into his studies his marks showed his shortcomings and his focus. Due to this he left much of the administration of his lands to a staff hired for it, checking from time to time to be sure he was not being cheated, but spending much of his time in the field trying to earn a higher place in his house.
Time spent in the field honed his skills even further and due to his position he spen some time commanding lances through understanding the circumstance. While he lacked the raw charisma many of his fellow knights had he made up for it in time by doing what he ordered his men to, proving his skill in combat to his fellows and earning their respect as a leader. Along the way he learned a bit more about leading.
Years of battles and his focus on strategy told him one thing. This constant battle was nowhere near an end and before it was over, many more were going to die in the struggles to come. More so he found he had neither the position nor the power to really affect any kind of change to that. The strength of force option closed to him, and the chances of persuading others low he decided to take the only route left to him, knowledge.
Once more throwing himself into studies he learned the basics of covert operations. Starting to practice these skills on his own estate he honed them to passable levels. It was in practicing cryptography one day that he came to know of the arc project. Asking a few contacts he had made in intel, he found that apparently This arc had been a mystery to them and was about to disembark. Not having time to research a scientist, he decided to take in the identity of a man in his service. Confident enough but nothing special. Writing a letter of recommendation for himself and taking with him his father's signet ring as well as some advanced gear he believed may be helpful he set out to become a part of the force that has been contracted to protect this ARC he had heard about.
It has been some time now that he has been aboard ship practicing his had at computers, he found a great deal of information was stored in that manner on the ARC, and he has to be sure out was what they claimed. He also decided that he would need to learn to be more hidden to accomplish things, spending time to learn the theory of how to hide then putting it into practice, starting to earn a bit of a reputation among late night patrols as a bit of a spook on his late night walks.
