Fire on Mimar
The Republic Attack Cruiser Vengeance
In Orbit over the Outer Rim World of Mimar
Venator-class Star Destroyer
The Republic Attack Cruiser, Vengeance and the 2nd Battalion of the 10th Division under the command of Jedi Knight Damaya had been sent to Mimar to support Jedi Commander Auro Syrdash. Their official mission was to reestablish with the Jedi Temple on Mimar who had gone silent just a few days ago. With their official mission known across the Republic Military Command Structure, an unofficial mission was assigned to Jedi Commander Syrdash by the Chancellor herself.
That mission was to discover why the local Republic Commander, Colonel Ton Noor, had been deploying his troops in an aggressive method. Almost seemingly to intentionally provoke chaos and revolt on this normally calm Outer Rim world. Mimar, located in the Wyl Sector on the edges of the Corporate Sector. Mimar is known within the Jedi Order as a supply station and regional training center. This has made the mission to Mimar much more important to the Jedi Order than to the Republic its self.
As the Vengeance hung over the world of Mimar, reports of the massacre at the Jedi Temple have already started to circulate across the battalion. Just over a hundred and twenty Jedi, Padawans, Younglings and Antarian Rangers were ruthlessly gassed within their own Temple by the hands of some unknown agents. Reports from EOD personal indicates that those agents had hacked in to the Temple’s mainframe and bypassed the Temple’s security systems. The massive blast doors were sealed trapping the Jedi and their allies within their own temple.
With their victims trapped within their own temple, a highly toxic gas was introduced in to the Temple’s atmosphere circulation systems. This acidic gas attacked biological lifeforms as well as the droids assigned to the Temple. Without use of their mainframe, the victims trapped within the temple were unable to call for help or escape the Temple. There were no survivors within the Temple of Mimar. The scene within the temple was nothing short of a horrific massacre carried out against the Jedi Order.
With safety of his party in mind, Jedi Commander Syrdash had his party withdrew back to the Vengeance after their first full day on Mimar. Jedi Commander Syrdash had ordered that company of Republic soldiers remain behind to protect the temple while EOD teams continue to make the Temple Complex safe once more. With the Temple secured and protected, the party departed Mimar for the Vengeance.
As the Vengeance slipped out of the light of Mimar’s star and in to the shadows behind the world, one member of the party could not find rest. Unna tossed and turned in her bed as music filled her thoughts. In her mind, Unna could see the different colored lights flashing across the night club. The music was loud and filled her thoughts as she silently and effortlessly ghosted her way through this night club. She could see that the club was filled with Republic soldiers relaxing and enjoying the nightlife of Mimar’s capital city of Yanta.
As she moved through the club, locals mingled with Republic soldiers. Servers brought drinks while the music continued to play on. It almost seemed as if Unna was drawn to a place within the club near the center of the club. At the edge of the dance floor, a group of Republic soldiers had gathered around a circular table. Unna noticed that these were not just any Republic soldiers. These soldiers were like those of the 2nd Battalion, 10th Division, who were assigned to serve the Jedi Order. Everyone within this club were all part of the same unit.
They laughed as a blue female Twi'lek entertained them with small feats of the force and a deck of cards. Her hand and body motions kept their attention as her soft smile, purple eyes, and pleasant demeanor sold the deal. As her trick concluded, she smiled, “you boys want to see a real trick?” she said as her fingers reached up and toyed with the strap of her dress. Their nods and cheers encouraged her.
She reached in to her pouch and pulled out a small lighter and set it down at the table. She looked deep in to their pleading eyes with a smile on her face. She pulled from her pouch a small glass, “this is called a drinking bird. I call him Horm” she said in her must softest of voices. Unna wondered if the name Horm had some connection with Jedi Knight Horm Rozees. Knight Rozees had been a long-time student of Master Key-Ana. He had staged a protest at the steps of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where he set himself on fire before a growing crowd. In the end, Knight Rozees ended his life at the steps of the Jedi Temple by flames of his own creation.
Drawing upon the force, the female Twi’lek, started the bird swinging. She turned and glanced at a male, green, Twi’lek, walking out the front door. He gave her a motion. She turned and smiled to the soldiers who all smiled back at her. “Boys, watch my friend Horm for me. I will be right back” she said lying to them. “When I get back, I promise to turn up the heat” she added playfully causing them to become excited. It was clear that she was using her sexuality to keep her mark engaged in to whatever she was plotting.
She moved through the crowd as she headed for the front door. Upon leaving the club she crossed the street where the other Twi’lek was waiting. “Come on!” he said getting on a Speeder Bike. “With that Venator in orbit, we don’t want to be caught in the streets after tonight.”
“Go on, Nerra” she said moving back towards the ally. “Horm and Swip had attempted to get the Grand Council’s attention. The Council ignored the pleas of those heroes. Now, we will deliver their message to the Council, in their own blood.” She smiled and gave him a nod, “I want to see our message delivered with my own eyes.”
The speeder bike whooshed away as the blue Twi’lek watched from the shadows. Within moments the street turned orange as large glass panels erupted outward. A thunderous roar of fire erupted from the club drowning out the screams of those within. As the orange glow grew across her face, Unna could see the cold smile cross the Twi’lek’s face. Her yellow eyes glimmered in the orange light of the fire that consumed those across the street.
The darkness of Auro’s room was suddenly made light once as an audible chime filled the quarters. “Commander Auro” the female officer’s voice said. “Knight Damaya has requested your presence on the bridge. She suggests that you bring your team. She expressed that it was urgent.”
It didn’t take long for Auro to gather up his team and meet Damaya on the bridge.
“We received word an hour ago of a terrorist attack down on Mimar. Some kind of fire bombing or something at a night club. We have been monitoring the situation as it has been developing. According to the latest information, there were thirty-nine fatalities and an additional forty-one casualties that have been rushed to the hospital,” Damaya explained. She then reached over and picked up a recorder, “but this is the reason why I woke you all up.”
“We intercepted a highly encrypted communication on a Republic Channel. Normally that wouldn’t be cause for alarm. However, listening is worth its weight in gold.”
She hit play on the recorder….
A clearly augmented and disformed voice said, “Hello?”
“I did as your told and now they are blowing up night clubs. You said it would only lead to protests…..” the hurried voice of a man said.
“You fool!” the disguised voice interrupted. “There is a Venator in orbit over your world. They can intercept this communication. They have already reported in on their findings at the Jedi Temple. Though this could play in to our cause. The Chancellor has over played her hand in this. Keep Auro close to you. His weight is valued in gold, and it’s the Chancellor greatest weakness. Now don’t be stupid and man up.” The communication ended.
(OOC:
Before I get going on the admin stuff. I should update Gadeon.
Gadeon knows a Swip Raal from the Olavon. She was a young Kel Dor Knight who had trained and studied under Master Key-Ana. Gadeon had heard of her efforts to end the drums of war. She was working desperately to silence the drums of war and trying to forward what Master Key-Ana would have really wanted (which was not war or conflict). She spoke out against those who were attempting to use Master Key-Ana death to beat the drums of war.
For more information Gadeon, please reach out to me.
Now on to the Admin stuff:
We will be meeting at normal time (5:00pm) on this coming Sunday. I am looking forward to this coming game. This game will be our last game for the month. There will be no game November 20th and November 27th.
I posting this early so that everyone has a chance to engage in sharing discovery. I am going to assume that ALL information in this post will be shared to all players. So, that what you are reading is considered Character Knowledge.
Please feel free to post up any other discovery that you wish in this thread. This is considered an IN-Game Thread. I highly suggest that all players take this opportunity to share what ever information they have. The sharing can take on any form you wish. My concern is that the information gets spread.
