An Open Dialogue
In the Wake of Defeat
Hyperspace
Somewhere between Olivan and Frey
Date: 2919 AOK (Three days after departing Olivan)

Duncan had finally had a chance gotten a chance for some time of his own, to rest and meditate. The experience on Olivan had shaken him a bit. Grand master Dooku had done his best to prepare him for the possibility of such horrors, but preparation and seeing such atrocities are two very different things. It was hard for him to find his center at first, he wished he would have had his flute. Playing music always made it easier for himself to lose himself within the Force and to focus his mind. By the time, he had come out of his meditation he was centered and refreshed.

When he was done, he looked for Auro fortunately it seemed their leader was coming into the small cargo space for the same exact reason he was there. It wasn’t surprising, he knew that Auro made it a routine to meditate daily. Over the last few months that was something that had become harder to do. But now that they had nothing to do but wait it was good to see that he was trying to get back into that routine. “Auro I’m glad that I’ve run into you. There are some things I would like to talk to you about now that things have calmed down a bit. I do ask that you not say anything until I’ve had a chance to tell you all this.” He said as he stood up from where he had been seated. “I know we’ve only been together a few months now. But in that short amount of time I have grown to respect you and trust you as if I had known you far longer. I went to the Olivan temple, with the others, for several reasons. Firstly, because I felt that the chances of success were better if I went with them then if I had stayed behind. Secondly, I felt that could have been some information there that would have helped us end the fighting. I didn’t tell you because I was trying to protect you. My first job was to be your protector and it will take me some time to adjust to this new position that I’ve been granted. As your second I, will follow your orders. However, if I feel that something is wrong I will tell you so. If I don’t agree with an order I will voice my objection, even though I will still do as ordered. I guess what I’m saying is that if we’re going to find a way out of this mess that others have put us in we must not just keep the lines of communication open between us but we also must trust that what the other is doing is for the greater good when we can’t talk to each other privately or openly. I’ve come to believe that what has come to pass with the Jedi, at least in a large part, and those that they now call Rogues is a failure to communicate. Both sides feel that they’re right and that the other is wrong and as such they long ago stopped listening to each other. Now when a united Jedi order is needed the most it is fractured. We can’t allow that to happen between us. No matter what happens from here on out if we communicate with each other honestly then we might have a chance to set things straight again.” Having said everything, he felt he needed to, Duncan felt as if a huge weight had been lifted. Now he waited to hear what the Vurk had to say.
