Giving Trust

(This will take place after the talk with COX and after Taming the Shrew.)

After Duncan had finished talking with Cox, he needed to talk to Ni. Things were happening fast and he needed to get a handle on it quickly or else they all could die on this planet. He eventually found her near Gadeon. He kneeled down to where she was "Ni I need to talk to you... in private."

[Gar]

Ni was curled up asleep on the floor near where Gadeon was. She groggily blinked her eyes open, focused onto Duncan's face, and smiled mischievously. "In private, Boss Man?" She whispered, sitting up and raising her eyebrows at him, "I'm always here for a good time, private or otherwise."

[Duncan_Starchaser]

"Well I don't know how much of a good time this will be. Follow me." he told her as he exited the room and motioned for her to follow as he led them to some where they could have more privacy.

[Gar]

Ni looked to Gadeon, looked to the door, hesitated, then followed after Duncan. "Last time someone told me that it only took half an hour to change their minds. Maybe I'll get to beat that record tonight," she giggled softly, trying to keep quiet. When they reached their destination she placed a hand on his side and moved in close, whispering seductively into his ear, "Is this private enough for you?"

He turned around in order to face her. "Ni do you trust me?" he asked her getting straight to the point.

[Gar]

The Zeltron blinked in surprise, then sighed and crossed her arms. "You haven't given me any reason not to trust you. And Gaddy says it's important that we all understand and trust each other. So, yeah, I guess I do trust you..." She frowned and asked with a hint of disappointment, "This isn't about sex, is it?"

[Duncan_Starchaser]

"No it's not about sex." He replied. "You have a good heart Ni, and a desire to help everyone which is an admirable quality. However they're are times when that instinct creates more problems than it resolves. When I gave the order for everyone to leave you should have trusted me enough to have done just that. I know you were just getting to help Bay, but you need to trust that when I give an order I'm doing what's best for everyone at that time." He told her.

[Gar]

"Oh..." replied Ni in a dejected tone, breaking eye contact, "if that is what you meant by trust, then I guess I don't trust you to the point of obeying your orders without question or protest..." She winced and looked up into his eyes apologetically, "Is that bad? I didn't know that I'd ever see Bugsie again if I let him get arrested. I'm sorry if I disappointed you..." She leaned against a crate and crossed her arms as though she were fending off a chill.

He was so tempted to hug her, but he knew he needed to get this out. "That's understandable, and it's true that it's possible that he could have been arrested. But think about this it's also possible that if you had done nothing at all yes he could have been arrested he would have been let go the next day and would have been with us again. We could have Owl in our care right now and be on our way back home in a few hours. What I want you to do for me is not act on your first instinct as much and always remember that your actions don't just effect you it effects the entire group." he said and that's when he reached out and gave her a reassuring caress of her arms. "Now that being said... I haven't been showing you enough trust either. And I'm really going to need to trust you for what I need you to do next." he told her.

[Gar]

The Zeltron nodded to show that she understood. "Gaddy is better at decision making, maybe I should just stay closer to him..." When he touched her arm she looked up at him curiously, the physical contact causing her mood to shift and her body to perk up eagerly, including the return of her characteristic smile. "Oh?" Ni said flirtatiously, leaning into him again and reaching around to squeeze his bottom, "what can I do for you, Boss Man?"
