RE: The Light is Always there
Cox was picking up the EMP'ed robot debris and placing them in boxes for Bay's robo-crafting. After cleaning up several rooms on the ship, Cox checked his datapad and found a message from Gadeon. He thought for a moment about what Gadeon might want to discuss and what level of privacy might be needed. He wanted to start things on the right foot, so he selected somewhere mostly private, "I'm still cleaning up from the EMP. Meet me in the Falcon Crest's #2 hold, so I can have her in tip top shape for our next departure."

"Sure. Do you mind if I keep cleaning and inspecting? I want to make sure the ship is ready to go ASAP."

RE: The Light is Always there
"Thanks for the offer! This tech is advanced, so I want to personally see to the cleanup." Cox carefully sweeps some broken pieces into a box, gives them a once-over, and puts the box to the side to resume cleanup.
"The crew I work with are important to me. The market mission upset me because it put many of our crew member's lives at risk carelessly." Cox's brow furrows and his voice trembles a little with anger as he looks at Gadeon, "On my ship, every crew member comes home alive or dies a hero. Anything less is mistake that I will rectify."
Cox sighs, places his hands on top of the broom, and rests his head, "Our hacker ally is a genius with computers, well funded, or probably a little of both. He is not allied with the Counselor, the Council, or the OPA. His biggest interest seems to be causing chaos, but I don't know to what end."
Cox pauses momentarily and then continues, "I think he's as much a threat as an ally to us. Even with Bay's help, I don't think we can get our security good enough to keep him out and we still don't know what he's looking for. That's why I was pushing to make a deal with him - I wanted to know what he could offer us since that might give us a better idea of who he is. He wanted Tarkin dead badly; Tarkin killed people close to him. We could try and ask Tarkin about that, but I doubt we'd get far. We'd have to get the Council to agree, Tarkin would have to be helpful, and even if he was helpful, he's probably killed too many people to know which one we are after."
"My recommendation is to use the relationship to build some trust and learn more about our ally. Unknown enemies are often the most dangerous."

RE: The Light is Always there
Gadeon thought be on the matter for a few seconds, addressing each point in order. "The market was not poorly planned, it was the action of persons without confirmation from a leader then their reluctance to over orders to withdraw that resulted in the danger. Issues with trust, respect and procedure all contributed to this. That is part of why I am coming to each of you, to make sure that I have all of those."
"As for our hacker contact, I think that I will open that conversation to everyone, there is of course the benefit of knowledge, a benefit that should not be underestimated, but there is the disadvantage of entanglement that goes along with it. We can also choose to simply ignore them in the future to avoid entanglement at the cost of knowledge." He thought about saying more about each, but there was no reason to go over it just to have to repeat any discussion.
"Lastly I would like to know if you have any concerns you would like to address with me in private?"

RE: The Light is Always there
"It was poorly planned. We knew we were dealing with a spy and yet we pretended that anyone might be able to plant a bug on that person. We knew that police would likely be involved and yet we had no plan for handling them. If you don't see the market was poorly planned, then I think you need to step back a little bit and review the situation. There were some glaringly obvious holes in that plan and it turned a mission that was relatively safe into one that could've gotten one of us killed."
"I don't think we have a choice on the entanglement. They can get into the ship's main computer and I can't prevent that or get them out. Ignoring them would be like sticking our head in the sand - we'd be blind and they could see us. I definitely agree with bringing this to the crew, but we might want to pick a more natural location."

RE: The Light is Always there
"Of course, I always find nature to be most calming, and a place for cool heads to prevail. The placement of the bug was, in the plan, only to occur if an opportunity to do so presented itself, Bay's action was not part of the plan and such action was as it stood at that time unneeded, the plan was fine. As for the involvement of law enforcement, just how was a simple talk in the market supposed to likely involve the police? Duncan had handled the police well, it was not until the terror attack, one with a most unfortunate timing, that the method by which it was being handled fell through. It was the execution of that plan that was not done well, if you cannot see the difference perhaps you need to step back a little and review the situation. Especially since you made no mention of these glaringly obvious holes before the operation."
Gadeon said making sure to keep his tone calm as he spoke, "As for having no choice on entanglement, we could all leave behind all we know and live on a remote moon as farmers absent of any technology. I highly doubt under such circumstances we would be worth the effort of going after. The details of a reasonable course of action can of course be discussed." Gadeon took a moment to pause and consider before continuing.
