Jaden was the second official born child of Ian and Meera Starchaser and true first born son. He grew up knowing that Duncan was not his blood brother, but he still regarded him as such. He learned much from his father during the few years of his life he was with his family; including the words that stuck with him, "Weak men stand only for themselves. Strong men stand for others." At the age of six Jaden's force abilities surfaced and soon after his father paid to have his son sent off to the prestigious Jedi Academy on Coruscant. Ian personally took his son to the transporter that was bound for the core of the Republic and imparted one final lesson on his son, "No matter where you go, not matter what you see or do, do not let it change the good and kind person that you are." 

Jaden's time in the academy flew by with it becoming clear that he was very proficient at lightsaber combat as well as dabbling in technology and even music. At the age of 10 he became padawan of Master Pru Hul; a member of the Jedi High Council as well as a man regarded as "The Blade of the Republic." For eleven years he was trained to be a combat specialist and mastered the Djem Sho style of Lightsaber Form V. At the age of 12 while in an entranced state he constructed his first lightsaber. Rather than copy his master's lightsaber he built a crossguard lightsaber; something that was not seen for a very long time. An even rarer sight was the blood orange blade that came to life upon activation.

Following the events of Olivan he was officially Knighted and shortly after he became a Jedi Weapon Master. He also trained to become a two weapon fighter and as such had to create a new lightsaber hilt to house his blood orange crystal as a shoto style lightsaber for the crystal he attuned to himself.

I heard her words. "Welcome to the dark side," she said to Duncan with nothing but malicious intent. I felt her blades break through my defenses. Felt the cuts as they tore into me. I fell to the ground thinking that this was it. The end of my story. Then I felt sand on my bare back. Felt the sun's heat on my skin. The smell of the ocean filled my nostrils. I was on one the beautiful beaches of Kel Al Shamor and there I saw her. My love came out of the water and the sun radiated off of her naked body, illuminating her like an angel. She walked up to me and straddled my waist. Her hands rested on my chest and she looked down at me with a smile. For an odd reason her hands were pumping my chest, but I paid it no mind as she leaned down and captured my lips in a kiss. I put my left arm around her wait and my right hand on the back of her head to deep the kiss. I wasn't going to die. Not without giving her one last kiss. Only a familiar voice that was not my love's came from her. The voice of Ni. I opened my eyes and saw that I was still in the Temple and there Ni was. I could feel the healing power of the force flow into me from her. She saved me. Brought me back from the brink. Which means I kissed her. Oh shit.
