Tesara goes to Sinya 5/21/21
Sinya set there on the floor of the flight deck with her back tucked in a corner. With the blast plating over the cockpit windows closed and the entire flight deck powered down, the area was as black and dark as space its self. Lysire's head resting heavy on Sinya's laps. The bright eyed, brown haired, little know it all, resting peacefully. It was something that Sinya noticed over the past few days, that it was easier for Lysire to get rest for some reason. Sinya's hand brushed the girl's hair as she softly hummed a melody. It was a song Sinya had thought forgotten years ago, but somehow it found its way back in to her life.
That was when she heard the soft knocking on the door, 'damn Ava' she cursed. "I said, not now," Sinya said trying her best to be as soft as could. This time, hoping that the brash Core woman would finally take a hint.
"Its me, Tesara," she heard the female Jedi say calmly. "Can we talk," there was a degree of respect and even a hint of urgency in the jedi's voice.
Sinya reached over to her arm mounted controller. Her hand hovered over the comlink as her mind raced for the words that would send the annoying Jedi away. Her finger paused short of the button. A different voice entered her mind. That of Kaleb, and his chastising her not giving Tesara a chance to speak. For daring to hold a grudge against the young Jedi. Kaleb acted all mature and like he was better than her, but he wasn't any better than anyone. He wanted to hard to defend Tesara, and the smug way he had demanded to see the video proved how much he would be willing to go to defend her.

Not once, not once, had he given her any credit. Sinya knew the story about them. She rolled her eyes as the memories flood her. But in truth, the others only knew Kaleb for a few more days than her. And judging all the time he spent here on the Shadow, Kaleb actually had known her and Lysire for more actual time.
Sure she was mad at Kaleb, but she didn't want to wage a war with him. Well maybe a little one, over that little native twit that seemed to have a knack for getting under Sinya's skin. The twit's voice echoed in her memory, "your not good at threats." She grinned, maybe more than just a little war with him.
That settled, this Jedi was a different problem all together.
And if she was going to make peace with Kaleb, she needed to show him that she was at least able to listen to this....woman...
With a deep breath, she glanced down at Lysire and ensured that the girl was still sleeping. Her eyes danced over the controller and she used it to unlock and open the flight deck door. With a hiss, the door slide open. As Tesara walked in, she held up a finger to her mouth in a keep your voice down motion. Sinya would give this woman plenty of rope, and grin as she hung herself with it.
"What would you like, Tesara," Sinya said softly and with as much calmness in her voice she could. She didn't want to take any chances to wake her sleeping little sister. Her hand continued to run over Lysire's head with the gentle touch only a mother could do.

((OOC question - Can Tesara see Lysire asleep in the dark?))

Tesara's eyes go wide as she takes in the nearly completely dark flight deck. Her eyes sweep over the droid piloting and understands. She sees Lysire fast asleep on Sinya's lap and manages to hold back a groan. The last thing she wants to do is wake the girl. Tesara shakes her head and points at Lysire and mouths to Sinya. "Another time, don't want to wake her."

Sinya glances down at the sleeping girl. Maybe Tesara was right, but then again maybe she was wrong. And that wouldn't be a surprise to Sinya. She suddenly realized that having Lysire here fast asleep had two benefits.
First, it would act as a built in temper controller for her. And when dealing with the likes of Tesara, Sinya needed all the help she could get.
Second, she would love to shove Kaleb's words back in his smug mouth about how Sinya always prejudges Tesara.
No, she would entertain what ever it was Tesara wanted to talk about now.
If nothing less, to just prove to Kaleb he was wrong about her.
"No" she said softly. "She is in a deep sleep," Sinya said softly as she gazed down at the girl. "We can keep our voices low," she said softly raising her gaze to Tesara then added, "right?"
Tesara Anerin — 05/21/2021
Tesara hesitates, gauging the situation. It's clear that this is not a brand new thing, and Sinya isn't moving. So likely she is the best judge of how deeply Lysire sleeps. Biting her lip, she steps into the room and as silently as possible, makes her way towards them. She sits down opposite Sinya and looks at her. "You were right. Her life was threatened by Nova." She whispered. "And you're absolutely right to be angry about it. I had no idea. I just got done questioning Nova herself, as well as Ava about it all." She continued to whisper.

Sinya reached up to her controller and closed the door to the flight deck.
Sinya realized it was going to be one of those conversations. With a press of another command, the door was sealed.
She nodded and took the enormous show of will to not say, I fucking told you so.
Instead she quietly watched the human Jedi as she set down in the darkness with her and her little sister.
The back of her mind, Kaleb's words still echoed. She would prove him wrong, even if it killed her.
With a motion of her hand, she waved Tesara to continue.

Tesara exhales slowly. "Apparently Ava tried to apologize to Lysire on Nova's behalf, but I can see why that was a band-aid to the situation. Nova herself needs to apologize to Lysire and assure her that she won't try to kill or harm her in any way. While I cannot control what Nova does, I am not certain she will agree to do that. If she makes a sliver of a malevolent motion towards Lysire I will stop her. I will be glad when we are aboard the Jupiter 1 and can separate them. Everyone is now apprised of the situation and I will be watching Nova like a hawk." Tesara inhales again and continues to whisper. "Ava said that Durro said something to Nova about it, but does not actually know what it was. I don't either, as I had no idea this had even happened. She focuses on Sinya. "Having said that, nothing in the world makes what happened right, no matter what was said or done after it. But I want Nova as far away from everyone here as quickly as possible. She and Reine both, actually. It's a powder keg down there." She glances at Lysire to make sure the girl is still fast asleep. It is clear she is. "I just wanted to apologize. What you said earlier....it stung but it's true and it has given me a lot to think about."

She frowned as she listened. It was clear she didn't have any more choice, it was time to speak up.
"Ryan had asked for help with the Jupiter's navigation computer. Neither of us had realized that the navigation computer had been running the entire ship. In truth, it was a brilliant set up if done right. But it wasn’t."
She closed her eyes and recentered her mind on the topic. "So during the overhaul, I found the ship's security files. Only one camera, but hundreds of hours of recordings."
She softly brushed Lysire's hair, "I stumbled on the file cause it has been flagged by Ryan. I watched it and nearly exploded."
"I asked Ryan, and he barely could remember flagging the file but didn't remember why. I spoke to Lysire about it and she told me bits and pieces of what happened. But even she couldn't remember all the details."
"I asked her who there with her and Nova, but she couldn't remember." Her frown grew, "I was wrong, it wasn't you. Well, I wasn't ever sure who it was. But for me, it really didn't matter as both of you preach the same nonsense."
"You act like you care, you claim you care, but when people are dying. Good, innocent people, you don't do anything."
Her eyes drifted down, "I was so mad at how you claimed to be concerned over her," she said motioning to Lysire, "eating habits. I felt like, once again you are say what you think is nice but you don't really care."
"You don't care about me, her, the people of this world or anything."
Her eyes rose up to lock gazes with Tesara, "and in that you are worse than the Jedi of this universe. Its just a matter of time before you two leave us to die."
Tesara Anerin — 05/21/2021
Tesara sighs quietly. She had been expecting it. Still, she had held out a little hope that Sinya would cut her some slack. Alas. "Well. I do care." She says, pressing her hand to the floor and standing as quietly as possible. "I'm going to do what I can to help her." She glances once more at Lysire and then makes her way to the door. It was pointless arguing anything with Sinya and her energy was best spent elsewhere. She turned, glancing at her. "Please let me out." She whispered.

Sinya reached to the controller and paused. "You came here and spoke. That does mean something."
She entered the code to unlock the door and open it. "I slip her vitamin supplements in her energy drinks." Sinya softly brushes Lysire's hair, "she doesn't know. I picked them up from a street fixer who runs a black market clinic. "She may not be eating as much as she should, but I make sure she gets what she needs."
Tesara Anerin — 05/21/2021
Tesara pauses and turns, surprised. After a moment, she speaks. "No wonder you were furious with me. You've been taking care of her this whole time and I came in like I was just noticing it and thought you hadn't. That was thoughtless of me. I'm sorry for that. I know you are fiercely protective of her and Angel help me I am glad of it. And I meant it. I do care. I don't have a clue how I will help yet or what will happen but I will help. I want to start by keeping Nova away from her but also trying to get more information on how to free her from this...thing." She sighs, tugging on a braid out of old habit. "She doesn't deserve what happened and is happening to her. I'll focus my energy on finding a solution while you and Kaleb protect her. Does that..." she pauses, swallows, then continues. "Does that suffice to bring a truce between us?" she can feel herself tensing, readying herself for whatever Sinya says next.
@TheTraveler
TheTraveler — 05/21/2021
She tilted her head to the side, "truce" she said confused. "You misunderstand everything. I don't hate you. I don't trust you, but I don't hate you. Nor am I waging a war with you."
She frowned, "after what happened on Ossus, you can rest assured if Nova or anyone else tries to hurt or bring harm to Lysire, there is nothing Kaleb can do to stop me from ending them in the worse possible way."
She drew in a deep breath, "I just don't want you to make things awkward between us, Tesara."
She blinked softly, "I hope that is what you can live with for now, because that is all I am capable of."
@Tesara Anerin
Tesara Anerin — 05/21/2021
Tesara smiles just a little. "Yeah I do tend to make things awkward. And I won't blame you if you 'end' someone for hurting her. And yes, I can live with that. Goodnight, Sinya."
@TheTraveler
TheTraveler — 05/21/2021
Sinya nodded, "good night, Tesara."
As Tesara stepped from the flight deck, she closed and locked the door from her controller. Then pulled her sleeve down to cover the controller.
Her attention went back to Lysire and her soft humming continued.
Tesara Anerin — 05/21/2021
Tesara returns to the main room and finds a corner to curl up in.
