Welcome to Sunco Lady Forma 6/15/21
Ava's comlink went off and a fine dressed Gentleman smiled, "Lady Forma, so pleased to finally be able to greet you officially. I am Mr. Sid Luscious, I am your Executive Assistant."

He smiled broadly, "I want to say what an honor it is to serve your needs and enrich SunCo's operations here in the Baklid System."

He bowed in deep respect, "I have scheduled a meeting with your executive team for one in the afternoon. Lady Loran has left her personal chef behind for a few days while you get settled in to your new role. She made it clear that we are to assist you in your efforts."

"How many will you be bringing to the the lunch meeting, my Lady," he asked softly.
@Governor Ava Forma
Governor Ava Forma — 06/15/2021
Once Astra finally fell asleep she held Rosa in her arms til she heard her comlink go off. Carefully and gently shifting she went to answer it deciding to keep her voice low. Seeing the call was coming from sun co.  As she listened " two plus a baby " deciding to bring Astra and Tesara along. She could easily pick up some clothes for Astra and pass her off as her best friend. She was careful to keep the baby out of view angling the comlink a certain way.
TheTraveler — 06/15/2021
The man looked panicked as he played with his Datapad, "a baby.....of course Lady Forma. I will make the arrangements!"

He shifted through some items on his Datapad, "I will make sure a nanny is standing by should you require it."
@Governor Ava Forma
Governor Ava Forma — 06/15/2021
" thank you, I shall let your know if one is required.  " arsta was just learning who she could trust. She was sure how Astra would feel if she set it up without asking. She didn't wanted to lose the ground she had gained.
TheTraveler — 06/15/2021
The comlink go dead.

(OOC: the next post will take place a few hours later at the Grand Dinning Room of the Summer Palace. There will be six NPC's present, they are

Colonel Jack Pacey
Mr. Dex Hartley
Ms. Wenda Pound
Ms. Zara Eady
Mr. Charlee Watterson

And including Mr. Sid Luscious.

PC present are to be Ava, Astra, and Tesara.)
TheTraveler — 06/15/2021
The large room has been converted for this meeting's purpose. Mr. Luscious smiled and greeted Lady Forma at the door and escorted her in. He even pulled the chair out for her as she set down, "The nanny is standing by in the other room should you require it," he whispered to her. He then moved and helped Astra take her seat next to Ava, "My Lady, if there is anything you require for your lovely baby girl, please don't hesitate to ask."

He then turned to Tesara, "if my study is correct, you are Tesara, Lady Forma's personal servant." His voice was pleasant and filled with respect. "Here, your services won't be required during this meeting," he said motioning her to a chair on the other side of Ava. While waving off any further comments or arguments, "I assure you, your Mistress is in the best possible hands," he said helping her in to her seat.

With the three ladies in their seats, "Lady Forma, allow me to introduce you to your Executive Team."

He then motioned for the first person to enter. "Colonel Jack Pacey, from the unknown regions," A tell humanoid man walked in to the room. His skin had a slight red tint to it and there were tattoos on his face. His long black hair was neat and braided. "Colonel Pacey is your senior military advisor. He specializes in both guerrilla warfare and hostile local military forces."

"Lady Forma," Colonel Pacey said bowing before taking the seat directly across from Ava.

"Next we have, Mr. Dex Hartley....."

Before Mr. Luscious could continue the man corrected him, "Doctor..."

Mr. Luscious nodded, "yes, right," he said correcting himself. "Doctor Dex Hartley, hails from Alderaan in the Core. Doctor Hartley is an expert in Geopolitics, Government, and Out Rim Alliances and Treaties."

Doctor Hartley smiled and bowed respectfully, "I am looking forward to solving the complex issue that is Baklid, with you My Lady." He said gave a slight nod and walked over to the chair across from Tesara and took his seat.

"Might I introduce Ms. Wenda Pound," Mr. Luscious said with a smile. "Ms. Pound is an understudy of Lady Loran's own personal Song Bird. She is an expert in covert operations and counter intelligence."

"Lady Loran chose wisely," Ms. Pound said with a smile. "Don't fear the shadows, its where I love to play." She gave a nod and walked over and set down across from Astra.

Before he could speak a female voice broke in, "We are wasting valuable time and capital. I am Ms. Zara Eady, Economics and Trade," the women dressed in a simple blazer and skirt said. She walked hastily over to right of Doctor Hartley and set down as she said, "My Lady, this meeting is costing SunCo over fifteen thousand credits an hour. We should hurry up."

The frown on Mr. Luscious' face disappeared, "Lastly we have Mr. Charlee Watterson. A native to Europa but raised in the Core. He is our Environmental Expert" The man smiled and nodded. It was clear he was from Europa by his facial features and black hair. He said down on the left side of Ms. Pound.

"Lady Forma, Lady Loran personally picked these men and women to ensure that your venture here is as profitable as possible," Mr. Luscious. "Lady Forma, your opening statement?"

Tesara Anerin — 06/15/2021
Tesara watched all of this with interest.  The two people she wanted to hear from the most were Colonel Pacey and Dr. Hartley.  Colonel Pacey was secretly fascinating to her.  She had never seen anyone like him, and wondered what species he was (if not just a different type of human).  He was handsome in an exotic way.  She hoped he didn't turn out to be someone who thought like Lady Loran.  Dr. Hartley seemed poised to be able to assist in the creation and overseeing of treaties.  She said nothing, but listened closely.
Astra  Korraay — 06/15/2021
" Thank you," Astra said kindly to Mr. Luscious. Then watched the proceedings carefully. Ms. Pound made her nervous and some of the things being said activated her but she remains calm and composed. Growing up in a Jedi academy had its advantages.
Tesara Anerin — 06/15/2021
@TheTraveler  and/or @Governor Ava Forma
Governor Ava Forma — 06/15/2021
Ava listened as Luscious introduced everyone her eyes widen in surprise hearing how much this meeting was costing Sun co. She wondered where exactly the money went to, most likely the guest and food for this lunch meeting. Hearing about the nanny ava sighed softly and give a nod of understanding. " Right, than I shall make this opening short as possible. Frist off I would like to say its a pleasure to meet all of you and that I look forward to working with all of you.  Second I want to feel that you all  can speak freely here. Lastly I would like to hear from Colonel Pacey about your report "
TheTraveler — 06/15/2021
Colonel Pacey rose to his feet, "Thank you Lady Forma," he said sternly. "Over the past three years, SunCo has been able to amass forty eight hundred troops on world. During the last few weeks, Lady Loran dropped five times that number to render aid to the Phu Cuong Clan. While their enemies have been driven back, it was only a short term solution to a larger conflict. With Lady Loran's departure, so goes her House Guard. Our Current totals remain at forty eight hundred troops with heavy equipment. We are supported by the Repulse, a CR 70 Corvette and a group of other support vessels."

He moved a data card to its port and a hologram of Baklid came to life. "We have two thousand troops located at the Refinery in Clovale. Another two thousand troops are spread out across the government forces act as trainers to the local militia. Their current mission of assessing which units are capable and loyal is still ongoing. At this moment, all we can report is the First Royal Guard remains loyal to the Queen. The 5th Royal Guard appears to have a fanatical loyalty to the Prime Minister. The loyalty of the remaining twenty three other units that belong to Baklid's Armed Forces remains questionable. However, I wouldn't expect any support or shift in loyalty from Baklid's navy. The Prime Minister completed a purge of all non-loyal offices.

The Secret Police has also started to arm up special units called Protection Squads. Currently there are only a few dozen of these squads with each having between twenty to forty personal. However, these personal are highly fanatical to the Prime Minister and are receiving military level training to include heavy equipment. In Rotterdam, the Baklid Armed Forces are currently undergoing an expansion to their bases. We believe that they are going to be recruiting more of these Protection Squads."

"Beyond these deployments, I have chosen to keep eight hundred troops here at the Capital to ensure the protection of SunCo's interests."

he paused then shifted the map to solely Europa, "as for the conflict, There is stiff fighting in the River Country of Europa. Thanks to the crushing victory Phu Cuong Clan enjoyed over their enemies, the Clan has been able to push deeper in to enemy territory. Argos just delivered a large shipment of walkers to the Baklid military. Which means that the conflict is about to change. Once the enemy realizes that they can't win on the battlefield, you can expect a massive change in tactics. Bombings, and assassinations of local leaders and commanders will become the new warfare of Baklid. As this tactic continues, more and more innocent lives will be lost."

He moved the map to reflect the western most mountain ranges, "this is the heart of the resistance. However getting there is next to impossible. Due to shifting extreme weather conditions, only a land approach is possible. However an Orbital Bombardment is out of the question. Below the mountains, trapped, is toxic gases that could leave much of the world lifeless. It would take billions of credits to repair the damage. At this time, this heart of our enemy is simply out of our reach."

"That is the military assessment of the situation here on Baklid," he said with a slight bow. "Any questions Lady Forma."
Astra  Korraay — 06/15/2021
Astra looked to ava. She wanted to ask what none violent solutions they had tried. But did not know if she could speak up. If she was not careful she would blow her cover.

The military Assessment made Astra's blood boil. All the work her mother had done to end this war undone in a matter of months. This only served to drive home that failed was not an option.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/16/2021
As Ava listened to the Colonel's report she noticed Astra looked at her. She could see the look of her wanting to say something on her face. " Astra, if you have something to ask or say your more than welcome to. I want everyone here know this is an open conversation. " assuring Astra to go ahead and speak  since the Colonel had finished his report.
@Astra  Korraay
Astra  Korraay — 06/16/2021
Astra nodded. " Colonel what mesers have been taken to resolve the fighting peacefully," she asked. She watched the reactions of the others at the table but especially that of the colonel.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/16/2021
@TheTraveler or @Tesara Anerin
TheTraveler — 06/16/2021
The Colonel drew in a deep breath, as if he had explained this over and over again to other Office Types. He slowly released it as he frowned slightly.

His voice remained respectful as he knew his place among the Office Types, "I apologize, but you misunderstand our mission. It is not our mission to create peace treaties or resolve disputes peaceful." He motioned to Doctor Hartley. "That is the responsibility of Doctor Hartley and his team."

He smiled softly as if relishing the moment, "allow me to inform you of our role and mission. Our mission is to deter hostile actions against SunCo's Interest and personal. When deterrence fails, to be victorious on the battlefield in its many forms."

"Our role is working with Ms Pound's Team to complete a threat assessment of both waring factions and their off world allies."

He gave Astra a nod, "My Lady," he said being genuine in his respect. "I will gladly address any and all questions you have for me that falls within my mission or role"

@Governor Ava Forma
Governor Ava Forma — 06/16/2021
Ava noticed the Colonel's behavior like the question been asked so many times he was tried of answering it. Yet she knew when meeting a new person on the outside those type of questions occur mostly cause they don't know you. " Thank you for clearing up the misunderstanding Colonel Pacey. I appreciate it. For me, I am taking this time to understand everyone's roles and learning about everyone here. So in the future working with you, there won't be any misunderstanding who do go to when I need assistance or have a opinion. Before I ask the next person for thire report does anyone have any other questions? "
@Astra  Korraay
Astra  Korraay — 06/16/2021
Astra wanted to point out the flaw in how the Colonel worked. How can anyone except diplomacy when one side is holding a huge gun at the head of the other. Be she chooses to keep quiet this time. Instead, she busied herself with Roza. Inspiring the child was profitable and skill sleeping well.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/16/2021
Ava understood everyone had a role to play. Not hearing anyone ask anymore questions. She decided to call upon the next person. " Doctor Hartley can you please share your report next with us? "
@TheTraveler
TheTraveler — 06/16/2021
Doctor Hartley smiled as he rose to his feet. The well dressed man with a slight tan, and deep blue eyes walked over to the center of the table. His voice calm and filled with confidence, "Ladies," he said softly.

"The Baklid system is a vast array of different cultures and ethnic people. While the predominant race within the system is Human, there are a number of other races represented within the system."

"The reason why I say this, is because, as our fair Lady," he said motioning to Astra, "has already asked, what are we doing to resolve this conflict peacefully."

"My team worked tirelessly with the former Queen to build a coalition that could withstand the resistance to peace."

He frowned, "our single largest enemy to peace has been Argos who has been selling arms to both sides. The Queen was well aware of this and had taken steps to put an end to Argos' involvement on Baklid. These steps were namely removing Generals who profited from these arms purchases."

"The second largest obstacle we have to peace is the Dooku Family. We suspect that they have had their hands in this civil war from the beginning, but as of late gotten in to bed with the Prime Minister."

"The People of Europa are as much part of the problem as well. The intention to leave them alone and to their own devices has been proven to be a failure. This is evident by the Cathedral Day Bombing Revolt across the Capital."

"Sadly, the conflict continues to shift beyond the stalemate and further in to a complete Government victory. Remember, it was that stalemate which allowed the former Queen to build her Coalition."

"As the people of Delphin see victory more and more likely, they will be less likely to shift away from their current course of total destruction of the Europa people. On the other hand, as defeat appears more likely, the people of Europa will be less willing to accept what appears to them as subjection."

"Should the battle shift too far in the favor of the people of Europa, than we could risk loosing all of our investments. This would actually be a worse case scenario. Such a situation would require SunCo to move more forces to Baklid and in ernest support the Prime Minister."

He bowed, "any questions?"

Astra said nothing. Working with her mother. She doubted that. So far she was not thrilled with what she was hearing.
@Governor Ava Forma @Tesara Anerin
Tesara Anerin — 06/16/2021
Tesara watched Doctor Hartley and continued keeping a neutral look on her face.  These were not encouraging reports.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/16/2021
Ava thought for an moment deciding to give her input once everyone was done with their reports. " thank you for your report I have no questions at this time. I belive your next Ms. Pound. " she was going in the order they had been introduced.
@TheTraveler
TheTraveler — 06/16/2021
Ms. Pound gave a nod as she rose up, "let me first inform you that all of this nonsense could have been avoid if the Board had heeded my warnings regarding the growing support that the Prime Minister was nurturing across the rural districts."

"I told the board that we needed to deal with the Prime Minister and his upper leadership while they were reachable. But those suggestions fell on deaf ears."

"Further more, I warned of the Queen's emotional state since the death of Lord Serrano. Her ties to Durro Thel-Tanis weakened her standing among the people of Delphin. Worse yet, members of her own administration were actively working with the Jedi and the Prime Minister to cause her down fall, all because the board refused to deal with Thel-Tanis when we had the opportunity on Lanus!"

Her anger raising, "this Lady has a right to her question about how we attempted to resolve this peaceful." She looked right at Astra, "I apologize on behalf of everyone here. We failed to act when we should've."

Finally Doctor Hartley spoke, "we only employ assassinations when we have no other options."

"Tell me Dex," disdain dripping from her voice. "Have we reached that point yet. One of my team could have ended all this nonsense months ago if you had just supported us."

"Again, we had no idea that the situation would have collapsed so rapidly," Doctor Hartley explained.

She turned back to Astra, "they didn't listen to me." Her eyes went back to Ava, "you want peace. Than we need a clean slight on both sides of this conflict. Remove them all and those right behind them. Than we can line up who we want at the table and finally have peace on this world."
@Tesara Anerin
@Governor Ava Forma
@Astra  Korraay
Astra  Korraay — 06/16/2021
Astra shock her head. " That will only bread more violence, what we need is to convince the current leaders that peace is a better option. That it can be achieved with favorable conditions for all who call Baklid home. Ms. Pound more violence will only bread violence be reedy to defend your self if necessary but do not strike them. It's hard to convince any one to come to the negotiation Table when you have a wepoin pointed at them." She said calmly. It was difficult to maintain her composer the comments about her mother had made her incredibly angry. But she did she had no choice she could not risk Roza's life by reveling herself to soon.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/16/2021
Ava sighed softly the views on where Ms. Pound saw things worried her. Than agian due to the words of rumors and lies. Many saw durro as a terrorist and possibly a distraction around the queen herself. However she reminded silence has she wonder if she could slowly shift thire views. Hearing Astra's words she waited to hear Ms. Ponds opinion.

@TheTraveler or @Tesara Anerin
TheTraveler — 06/16/2021
Ms. Pound narrowed her eyes, "you sound like him," she said motioning over to Doctor Hartley. "The Queen knew what it would take to bring these people to the table. She used her off world influence, to include us. She had the full backing of the Chancellor of the Republic. And even then it was a miracle to bring them all together. Between the bombing and arrests under the Prime Minister, the Queen's coalition is all but gone."

She moved till she was across from Astra, "but lets assume for a moment that we had a path to move forward with. Let me tell you who you are up against. Here in Delphin, the majority of the population actually believe that the Europans are responsible for the bombing. They actually believe that Durro Thel-Tanis was part of the plot and worse than that, that the Queen herself was some how part of it. These idiots actually believe this!" She lowered her voice and gave an apologetic nod, "They don't care about peace," she said then laughed, "they hardly cared about Peace when the Queen was working on her coalition. They hear the stories of the Europans and see the news broadcasts and they believe it. But that is just the tip of the ice-brig, cause for over a hundred years, these people have been fed lies all day. There is no convincing them, and unlike the Queen, we don't have popular urban support"

"But wait, I am not done. The POOR Europans," she said with sarcasm are no different. They have their own lies, and their own agenda's that they are following. Where shall we find peace? The Low Land Clans? These Clans are mostly splintered, some like the Phu Cuong throw in with the Government many decades ago. Others crumbled with some like the Four Serpents (OOC: cough cough @Tesara Anerin )becoming one of the most feared gangs across Baklid. Maybe we should look to the River Clans hidden away in their valleys. All have sworn a holy war against the Government and the Republic after the disastrous intervention led by the Jedi.  These Clans have all sworn loyalty to the Mononobe and the Soga clans. Extremist of their own right and each led by leaders who would rather see Baklid burn than try to rebuild the Queen's former Coalition. At least the Mountain Clans haven't joined the war against the Government. They have remained neutral through this entire debacle."

She leaned on the table and gave a hard look at Astra, "unless these hardliners are removed from power, there can be no peace on Baklid." She drew in a deep breath then as an after thought, "I don't mean to be disrespectful, but you have to understand my frustration. None of this mess had to happen. If difficult decisions were made than thousands of lives could have been saved. Now we can save lives again, do you have the stomach to save this world?"
@Governor Ava Forma
@Astra  Korraay
Astra  Korraay — 06/16/2021
Astra stud meeting her gaze. " the options you present are unacceptable. There are ways around this without taking lives. By taking our there leaders all you will do is make matters and the cycle of violence will continue to escalate and Baklid will be lost to war. We are the ones who want peace so it is up to us to stop the cycle of violence. It is important to end the fighting but how we end it is just as important. " Astra said calmly. She continued to stare at Ms. Pound.
@Governor Ava Forma @Tesara Anerin
Tesara Anerin — 06/16/2021
"What side are the Jedi on now?"  Tesara asked quietly, aware she might be ignored by the executives who thought she was merely a servant.  "And what is their role?"
@TheTraveler
TheTraveler — 06/16/2021
Ms. Pound gave Tesara a smile and a nod, "never be mistaken, the Jedi are only on the side of their own personal interests. The Queen's father promised them a brand new anchorage for their operations in the Outer Rim, and the Cathedral Bombing was their excuse to enter a war they had been privately supporting for nearly twenty years." She walked over to Tesara's end of the table so she didn't have to raise her voice. "The Jedi have a rather special role in the Outer Rim. When left to their own devices, they can be equally destructive and helpful. During the time that the Queen was building her Coalition," she paused for a moment then added, "before the bombing. She used her contacts within the Jedi to help bring some gaps. The Jedi Service Corps was rather important to her plans."

She frowned, "with a new High Grand Master, comes new policies. Luckily, the Jedi have decided that war here on Baklid was more costly than they had first imagined. They are currently pulling out. While this might be a sign to celebrate, let me assure you that we went from the frying pan in to the fire. The Prime Minister has brought in a Merc outfit led by one of the most ruthless murderers in the Outer Rim." She turned her head to Astra, "if you think the war was bloody before, just wait till they start their operations."
Tesara Anerin — 06/16/2021
Tesara nodded her understanding and a thanks for the reply, but did not ask more questions. Yet.  She wondered who had been named High Grand Master.
Astra  Korraay — 06/16/2021
" the the Prime Minister needs to be stopped" Astra said thoutfuly taking her seat once more.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/17/2021
Ava nodded her head in agreement " I strongly agree, with my friend here. He does need to be stopped. " wondering  who was the high grand master was herself.  She hoped the only person she would have to take care of was this prime minister. "  Who's been named this high grand Master? Also am wondering if  he shares the same views as the prime Minister or are they different? " finally deciding to ask a few questions of her own.

@TheTraveler
TheTraveler — 06/17/2021
Ms. Pound frowned, "sadly we don't know yet who has replaced High Grand Master Windu. What we do know if that the Jedi have withdrawn nearly all of their forces from the system. And while the Government has picked up some of the slack, it has left a massive void that simply can't be filled unless Argo or ourselves choose to fully commit to the Government's cause. As I have advised Lady Loran, it is simply not in our best interests to do so. However there is more, we have started to pick up traffic of a massive build up of warships and troops under the command of the Outer Rim Alliance. We are unsure of where these new ships and troops are going, but Baklid is a likely target. Should they deploy to Baklid, then our problems escalate as they will side with the Erupans. Such a move might trigger a choice with the Board of Directs on rather to cut our looses and pull out or go all in to protect our financial interests here."

Ms. Eady rose from her chair, "please allow me to take over." She turned to Ava and bowed, "Lady Forma," then gave respect to Astra and Tesara in kind, "It might be best if we discuss the amount of resources that SunCo has already invested in this world. With the construction of the Refinery, port facilities and infrastructure to support it all, SunCo's investment in Baklid is over three hundred million credits during the last decade. Or an average of about thirty million credits annually. During the last year, our security budget has since doubled to nearly forty five million credits. This doesn't include the construction costs of our new compound here in Delphin. This facility, which opens in two months will host a new spaceport, construction yards, and two new factories. The new facility was targeted to those urban supporters of the Queen in an attempt to bolster support for her and raise her poll numbers with working middle class Delphins."

She tilted her head slightly, "in short, to cut our looses would be a huge problem. By our projections, if SunCo were to deploy its full might and engage the conflict without reservations for a period of two years, the cost would still be less than if we were to abandon this world effective immediately. At the moment, and our current return on investments, SunCo could uphold a full scale engagement for twenty seven months. However, to move beyond that SunCo would be forced to start taking over operations of key sectors like Mining, which Argos currently controls."

She pulled up her data pad, "There are a number of SunCo initiatives which are widely popular on both sides of the conflict. First is our measured approach to the war. The perception that SunCo is only defending its interests has allowed factions on both sides to spend their resources at our facilities." She frowned, "sadly after speaking with both Ms. Pound and Colonel Pacey, this is not sustainable. Our Hospital and staff in Rotterdam has been targeted by street gangs. Though currently the means of attack is just larceny, crimes such as kidnapping and ransom has seen in uptrend as well as more violent crimes against our personal there. There had been six terrorists attacks at our port facilities at Clovale. This is fueling an increase in security costs. Here in Delphin, due to the Prime Ministers ultra nationalistic rhetoric, SunCo has been unofficially labeled as conspiring with the enemy. This has seen a ten to sixteen percent drop in our market shares."

"So while pulling out would be prohibitively costly, doing nothing and allowing the situation to solve its self is also equally prohibitively costly." Ms. Eady gave a bow, "If you have questions," she said softly.
@Governor Ava Forma @Tesara Anerin @Astra  Korraay
Astra  Korraay — 06/17/2021
Astra just started blanckly at the women all she seamed to car about was credits.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/17/2021
Ava shook her head " No questions but I have a idea I would like to present. It's called the Ava Forma Scholarship Fund. This Scholarship will be designed to allow impoverished children living in Europa's rural provenances, to have access to the best education system on planet." As she softly spoke. After projecting her voice loud enough where everyone could hear her but reframed from shouting.

" Students who qualify, will be transferred from Europa and placed with a host family, after passing enhanced background and security checks in Austerity. There the Scholarship Children will be enrolled in the best tiered schools, enrolled in community building programs and encouraged to take part in sporting activities. " taking a moment to take a breath before she continued.

" After primary education, the children can reapply to continue their education to secondary schools and universities. At anytime, the children can terminate their Scholarship and return home. The fund allows for one annual trip back home for the holidays. All other expenses would be paid out of pocket by the child's family. All fees and costs will be provided by the fund. Does anyone have any questions about my idea am proposing? "
@TheTraveler @Astra  Korraay @Tesara Anerin
Tesara Anerin — 06/17/2021
Tesara smiled to herself, pleased with Ava’s suggestions but preparing herself for a shocked response from the executives.  She watched and waited.
TheTraveler — 06/17/2021
Ms. Eady nods, "Lady Loran had suggested the concept. It appears that conversation was more in depth with you. Something like that is do able. We can shift funds from the medical outreach programs across Europa to fund the scholarship program. By moving them to Delphin, security would be much more cost effective."
Doctor Hartley stood up, "the scholarship idea would work wonders on improving the public image of SunCo as well has helping weed out toxic ideologies of these children. We could help shape the next generation in to one that is more open to peaceful paths rather than the current extremest views. However I would suggest bringing in children from Delphins as well. This way we can show that we are not favoring one side or the other while at the same time slowly changing the direction of both cultures to one where they can live with each other."
Astra  Korraay — 06/17/2021
Astra liked the idea but shook her head. " it's very likely that both sides would view that as a form of indoctrination what if you used the money to improve the school systems in those areas. The program may be better received then" Astra said. She was thinking back to Reines reaction to her the other day.
TheTraveler — 06/17/2021
Ms. Eady, "while pouring money in to the local school systems is a noble idea. There are two problems. One we would have no control over how the funds are used or if they would even go to ensuring our goals. Speaking purely factual, both sides would be right. We are using our resources to indoctrinate their children in to a less violent way of life."

Doctor Hartley smiled, "may be I can be of help on this," he said softly. "There are other ways to bring peace than by armed conflict. You, yourself requested this. While much slower than Ms. Pound's suggestion of killing off some more radicals on both sides, this idea would change the general fundamentals of how both sides see their place in the world."

Ms. Eady turned back to Astra, "giving local populations money has never solved anything. Unless it is chaos we wish to sow. In Baklid's case, that is not our stated goal." She then turned to Ava and tilted her head in question, "correct?"

Astra nodded she understood. But she worried about how the people would react.
Tesara Anerin — 06/17/2021
Tesara shifted in her seat and cleared her throat, hoping she wouldn't get glared at.  "There is an issue with this idea which is the very heart of how these people operate and what they believe.  I have had interactions with a family whose father was the absolutely head of the house, and nothing was said or done without his approval.  His daughter dared go against his wishes, and there was a bitter exchange between them which resulted in him basically disowning her and declaring her dead.  Once he had done this, she was by all intents and purposes, truly dead to her family and the entire tribe.  Even if she stood before them, speaking, they would pretend as if she was invisible.  Asking for these people to send their children to a school away from their village will likely be met with scorn and denial.  These people live and breathe by their place in the tribe.  If your grandparents and parents were farmers, so you shall be as well.  There is no deviation to this.  And there is the issue of their religious beliefs as well.  These people are deeply spiritual and believe in the Angel and her guardians.  Much of what they do is connected to her and what they believe. This is true across much of Europa, with slight changes here and there, but this is what you will encounter in these villages."

Finally Mr. Watterson, "I realize I have not been called but I feel my own expertise here will be helpful. Yes, MY people have backward ways. Had I not been saved from them, I would have grown up a farmer's daughter, been forced to marry despite my feelings, been forced to produce a family. All in the name of bringing honor to my Clan, my Tribe and my people. This is a barbaric system that oppresses the youth of my word." He turned to Tesara and nodded to her, "you speak the truth. But that doesn't me we don't try." He then turns to Ms. Eady, "I understand the cost, however if we look at Argos' latest venture with this singer," he checked his datapad, "Alizee, the girl has become widely popular in just a few days. There is even rumor that Argos has entered in to negotiations with  Stala Entertainment to sign the girl to a multi-year contract."

He turned back to Tesara, "yes there will be stiff resistance. But the alternative is that we side with the Government and wage a war of annihilation against my own people."

He paused a moment to let it sink in before turning to Ava, "Lady Forma, I have sworn my loyalty to SunCo and I will follow your commandments to the letter. But I can't implore you enough that such a move will see all things of my people relegated to the pages of history. This is an option that can work if we just give it time and the right resources."

" Your people's culture need not only exist in the pages of a history book. There have to be ways to preserve the best part of your culture" Astra said smiling gently at him.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/18/2021
Ava listened to Ms. Eady suggestion with both cultures going to the school it could eventually put aside both people's differences or show both sides that the possibility of them working together was possible. " I think that's a wonderful idea to bring in the children from Delphins as well. Thud could also be away to slowly mend both sides or show they can work together. Like you said where they become one and learn to live with each other. " as she agreed. " correct that is not the stated goal " she answered after listening to Ms. Eady. As she listened to Tesara and Mr. Watterson speak. " agree Mr. Watterson. "  as she lean back gathering her thoughts. " I would like to call on Ms Eady for your report. " wanting to hear thire input on what they see what's going on, in Baklid.

TheTraveler — 06/19/2021
Ms. Eady frowned, "madam I have given my report. Is there something more you wish to know."

Doctor Hartley spoke up, "I believe that Lady Forma is seeking more information as to what interests does SunCo have on this world. Maybe a bit of information from Watterson could clear the air."

Both of them took their seats as Mr. Watterson stood up and gave a smile, "Lady Forma, Baklid like many other star systems has a vast wealth in both natural and cultural resources. There are over a dozen active mining colonies with the largest being on Baklid two. Harvesting the Hydrogen from the Gas Giant, Baklid its self is also a large operation. However, what Baklid VI holds that very few other worlds hold is its environmental conditions. For over a hundred years, SunCo has been searching for a world that would allow for the expansion of our Ewok farming."

He brought up an image of a Ewok without any clothing or garb, "these fury little creatures are a gold mine unto themselves. Ever since their meat was brought back to the Republic some five hundred years ago, it's value has only increased. Grade Two and Three meats," he paused then turned to Ava, "those that are grown in controlled conditions." he turned back to the rest of them. "Grade Three can sell for two to three credits an ounce, where Grade two can sell for ten times that amount," he activated a holo-image of the Ewok without skin or meat. "Our scientists have spent over a century studying these little gold mines. Sadly the relationship between these creatures and their natural environment has proven to be rather complex. Several farms have failed with the lost of the entire herd. Shipping the creatures alive from their native home to their locations of consumption has proven to be deadly to our costumers. Shipping the prepared meat in carbonate, as we currently do, is expensive."

He gave a nod, "so after searching the galaxy, a few worlds were identified as potential farm sites. However these worlds, while successful in their goals, are still far from hyperspace lanes and thus has not seen any noticeable drop in the costs of shipping the meat. Baklid Six however is a prefect candidate world for a Ewok Farm. Our test facility in Europa has proven this. We are currently growing our second generation Baklid raised Ewoks, with the first generation already being prepared for export back to the Core. To our surprise, the first generation Ewoks grew much more healthier than on other farms. It is expected that the first shipment of the test site will cover the site's construction costs as well as the three year operations costs of the facility. If this trend holds, than the second generation will eliminate all set up costs for the facility and it will start to turn a profit. Thanks to Baklid's close proximity to two major Hyperspace Lanes, this world could could see massive economic growth thanks to Ewok trade. That would be five years before any other off-world Ewok Farm."

He bowed his head in respect, "Lady Forma, what we see here on Baklid is truly a gold-mine that can't be matched by anything else this world has to offer. And it will only be a matter of time before our competitors realize the value of this world. If we don't secure control over the Government, put an end to this civil war, and calm down these fires, Baklid and its wealth could slip through our fingers. And let us not forget the economic social disaster that hit Curiday Three. We need to be the ones in control here."

Ava nodded her head when Doctor Hartley stood up and informed Ms. eday what she meant. As she listened to about the resources she learned exactly what profit Lady Loran had seen for this world. As she looked at the picture of the Ewok listening to the different grades " what does the different grades of meat mean? And how would it be possible to get grade one? " since thaf sounded like it would be most profitable. However  they only mention grades two and three. " as she continued to listened and nodded her head understanding. As she lean back off " I do have another idea and I understand this one's a little more sensitive. I have a suggestion for a special program for force sensitive's. " looking at them " who should among you would be able to entertain what I have in mind? We can discuss it later "

Mr Watterson nodded, "there are five grades of Ewok meat currently sold on the market. Well not counting imitations that are out there."

"Grade Five is purely laboratory grown meat. And while this is what you will most commonly see in stores, it is the cheapest meat created. The process is pure and there is now actually living animal from being to end.

"Grade four is the lowest grade that SunCo deals in. These are uncommon across the market, and considered the best for the lower classes. The process involves the animals being birthed, raised and terminated in a laboratory."

"Grade three is similar to grade four but the raised portion of the cycle is done on a controlled farm. Then the animals are returned for termination. This meat is considered rather rare in the markets."

"Grade two is our most expensive meat. The animals live, bread and exist in an environment that is as close to natural as we can make it. This meat is only sold to selected markets."

"Grade One is purely hunted meat. Thanks to protections and laws established, SunCo owns the sole rights for the Animals homework. And as a measure of good will, SunCo has banned all hunting of these Animals in the wild."

He frowned, "of course thanks to corporate espinoge, some animals were stolen and other sources broke our dominance of the Market. Which is why SunCo only deals in these selected grades."
Astra  Korraay — 06/21/2021
Astra felt a little uncomfortable with this conversation topic. She was not totally sure why but she did.  She remained quiet and focused on her sleeping child.
Governor Ava Forma — 06/22/2021
Seeing how no one said anything maybe it was a bad idea she had. Maybe she should try to make allies with the jedi. Perhaps she could figure out away how Astra back to what she wanted to be. Ofcourse safety and not in the ways Astra would end up captured or dead by the people who were looking for her.

Ava listened to the different grades " perhaps putting some kinda cheap tracker or marker so they won't get stolen in the future. " though she understood now why sun co only dealt with those selected grades they listed.

As she thought to herself she was pretty sure they covered all the important things. " does anyone else have any reports or comments they wish to discuss? "

It was clear that no one was going to comment on the bosses' suggestion to make their product somehow impure by putting a tracker or marker on it. In stead that just nodded, knowing that such a idea wouldn't be allowed. As the end of the meeting came to a close, the group of Executives all shook their heads. It was clear that they had reached the end of their reports to the new boss. They all stood up and gave a respectful bow before gathering up their things.

Ava's personal assistant moved up, "Madam, is there anything else I can do for you?"
Governor Ava Forma — 06/22/2021
Ava give them all a respectful nod as they packed up thire things and depart. She turned to her personal assistant waiting til they had all headed out " yes actually there is. I wish to set up a residence i have a place in mind, how would I go about setting one up? "
Astra  Korraay — 06/22/2021
Astra smiled released to see them leave. Something about this entire thing had put her on edge she would be happy to leave. Roza woke at about that time. The baby smiled and babbled at Astra. " good morning sweetpea did you have a nice nap" she asked. Then looked to Ava and the Assistant. She was curious to see how one set up a Residence.
TheTraveler — 06/23/2021
Mr. Luscious nodded, "we have residences set up for you and your friends here at the Summer Palace. However that is only temporary while construction of the SunCo Tower is having their finishing touches added. I am told your residence will be ready for you to move in next month."

"Was there something else you had in mind," he asked softly.
Astra  Korraay — 06/23/2021
Astra tried to keep her excretion Neutral. she could not help but feel a little excited. the Summer palace had been her home for the past year.
