Some time after the call with Tesara and the others Astra had disappeared to make a video for Roza then went to the cargo bay of the shuttle to practice. Durrow's old padawan lightsaber felt odd and unnatural in her hand. She was so used to the lightsaber she had made after her journey into the crystal caves. But she did not have time for that now. She needed to practice she needed to get stronger and better at fighting. She was so tired of losing the people she loved and being powerless to do anything to protect them.
So she put on some music an old but favorite playlist of hers and set to work. She practiced from two cadences. She did not know any other forms. She would spend hours on this. The way she moved up on her tows her feet precisely placed as she went throws each motion was more like that of an elegant dancer than a fighter. She slowly let her thoughts disappear as she sank into a somewhat meditative state letting the currents in the force start to guide her movement. The unfimilare lightsaber in her hand slowly started to feal more natural. Though with no connection to the crystal within it she would never total feal at ease using it. Though that would not be a problem for much longer there would be time this trip for her to finly bond with and make her lightsaber like her father befor her.

As Astra moves through her velocities, the nearly empty cargo bay is suddenly bathed in red light, and a deafening alarm tone drowns out all other sound in the room.

In response, Astra feels the smooth wood of Durro's staff held blade-like against her neck. She did not see her approach, but then her back was to the ladder leading to the shuttle above.

" What the " Astra yelled. She Panicked for a moment befor realizing it was her master and he had a wooden staff and not sumthing more dangerous. She used move objects to try and push the staff away from her enuff to get free and turn and face durro. " What are you up to I have an actual lightsaber master." She said.

Durro allows the staff to move, lowering it to the floor. Gesturing with his hand, there is a beep from the console behind him and the alarms silence.
"The moment you become complacent is the moment you're most vulnerable." He says. "You must always be aware of your surroundings even when, especially when, you feel the most safe."
He smiles and adds,
"Train enough with me, and you'll be just like Tesara. If anything ever seemed out of the ordinary, she would look around waiting for me to attack."
He laughs and adds;
"Her mother told me one story; she was out feeding the brakka lambs and a branch fell from one of the trees nearby." Durro lifts his hands in a defensive stance as he speaks; "She lifted her hands into the fighting position I taught her, and her mother said she turned slowly for five full minutes looking for me to appear and attack her. I was across the village, attending to my own lambs!"
Durro laughs again, then adds more seriously.
"By the time we left; I really couldn't sneak up on her anymore. I mean, I could if I really wanted to, but it was hard to. She was very alert, and knew most of my tricks. In time, you will be the same way."

" I feal I may never catch up to Tesara she is so far ahead," Astra said with a smile. She clipped the lightsaber to her belt and settled into her defensive stance.
She settled into her defensive stance. Her right foot is in front of her left. Her weight was centered over her tows. Her arms were held to put in front of her elbow bent and her hands open her right in front of the left. " This is the basic stance we were thought at the Academy for defence. " She said.

"Not bad; it's very similar to my own training. Though I'm more interested in what I saw of your bladework. For someone who claims not to know how to duel, you certainly train in a more... advanced form."

" I never claimed not to know how I'm just really bad in an actual fight," she said with a grin. Practicing basic movements and whatnot without an aponit is one thing. But in actual combat, it's another master" she added. Dropping her stance. Shook her head.
" I got into so many fights in the academy usually trying to defend my friends and Sol always had to rescue me. But he's not here I need to stand on my own. Combat scares me far more then when I was a child" she explained.

Durro activates his own lightsaber, lowering the power down to its lowest "training" setting.
"Have you studied Shii-Cho, the first form of lightsaber combat?"

" I may have but my master was a master of form 2 so my focus was there, though I it's a bit unnatural to use your lightsaber there's not curve to this Hilt it throws me off a bit," She said. With a smile as she pulled the lightsaber from her belt and activated it. She settled almost as if it was second nature she settled into a typical form 2 stance.

Durro raises his own weapon above his head, his feet positioned similarly to Astra's. Without warning, he rushes forward, bringing the saber down fast, and hard.

Astra dodges the first blow, and the next, before catching the third on her blade. Her master's powerful two-handed blow nearly rips the saber from her hand, but she maintains her grip through the onslaught. Durro stops after only a half-dozen moves and stands ready opposite her.
"Very good, but I wasn't really trying. The counter to Makashi is a powerful offence; the one-handed grip struggles to block powerful blows, and the precise bladework struggles to keep up with dynamic movement. If I were to continue this attack, how would you counter?"

Astra stepped back clipping her blade to her belt befor looking at her hand and wrist. That hurt more then expected she should not have tried to block his attack she should doged and tyed to get behind him. " I would continue to doge and try to redirect your attacks. Manny story to get behind you so you would have to spin to attack me" She said.

"A decent approach. Though none of your velocities include such dynamic footwork. Have you considered learning another form? While most Jedi favor a particular form, they are proficient in at least two; masters are proficient in three or four. I myself tried to master all of them, but I would realistically call myself knowledgeable in all forms, but proficient at none. I know enough to get you started in any form you like, but I cannot teach you to proficiency. For that, I would have to be proficient myself." He chuckles.
"I recommend Form III, Soresu. It pairs naturally with Makashi and its defensive movements are equally good at countering dynamic or powerful attacks. It's purely defensive, so you would have to rely on Makashi for any offensive bladework."
"Then there's always Form IV, Ataru. The 'go-to' form for the Jedi I was trained by. Dynamic in both movement and bladework, it's best used in surges to overwhelm your opponent. If you fail to strike them down within a dozen moves; disengage and reassess. Form IV isn't as defensively sound, but it's dynamic and it's movements allow you to control positioning around the battlefield, especially against a more stationary opponent."
"Though it doesn't pair as well with Makashi as Form III does."

Durro brings his lightsaber up into a more defensive posture and widens his stance slightly.
"Copy this position." He instructs, and waits for Astra to do so.
"Now, I assume you remember the six target zones?"
He takes her through each of the six target zones, showing her a simple block for each zone. It becomes obvious as Durro starts chaining parries together that Form III relies on minimal movement, a fact he points out a moment later.
"Soresu's strength is its conservation of energy. You only move your blade as much as you need to in order to parry. The minimal movements and fluid footwork means you tire less than your opponent. You remain safe behind a defense wall, while they wear themselves out throwing themselves against it. When they tire, they get sloppy. They leave themselves open. That's when you take your advantage, and press them."

Astra nodded taking the lightsaber from her belt and copying Durro. The form was a bit unusual and she felt a bit a crowd as she tried to copy Durro. She did eventually get a basic hang of what he was trying to teach her it would take practice though much more practice for her to apply any of this in actual combat. " You said this and form two work well together Master" She asked.

"Indeed." Durro deactivates his own weapon and puts it back in his bag.
"The minimal defensive movements easily transition into the minimal cuts and thrusts of Makashi, and adopting the more dynamic footwork of Soresu overcomes the shortcomings of Makashi's line movements. They are a natural pairing, and actually what I planned on focusing on as a Jedi Master."

"You've asked before." Durro says with a smile. "There were, but not with the same status they have here. Not as far as I'm aware, anyway. They were certainly rare; we were taught about various prophesies and other things they said and taught, but I don't know of any that were alive while I was a Jedi."

"Yes, I don't understand the emphasis the Jedi place on seers or their visions of the future. I don't understand why these things must happen, because if your visions are carved in stone, what is the purpose of trying to use that information? What are we supposed to do with it? Anything we do can and must serve to make your vision reality. Perhaps that is the case, perhaps free will as I understand it doesn't exist. I don't believe that, though. While I believe the Will of Force should be followed, I also believe it can be ignored. That we can and do choose our own path. If that's true, then even a seer's visions can't always be right."

Astra shook her head and grinned. " no there not and its possible to change them But I have no idea how. and the visions dont alwas paly out the exact same way in real life as they did in the vision. That's why the warnings and information from them is so important for example the time table of the swarms attack. there are clues and important information in them" Astra said.

He takes the training remote from his bag and holds it up.
"Why don't you practice the velocities I've shown you? This remote will 'attack' you in random target areas, block how I've shown you and familiarize yourself with Form III."
He walks over towards where a crate sits by the ladder."

" It depends on the seer master and how powerful there "gift" is. Mine was never actually tested" She said with a smile.
" But a training remote is no fun" She said in a mocking winy voice only to smile a few seconds later making it clear her Protest was just a little joke. but she setled into the task durro gave her. She struggled to stay with Form 3 and got hit more then ones. a few hits even knoked her off balance. But she stubbornly kept at it. eventully she was defecting the shots from the remot thou her stance and forme was no where near perfect. She was definitly still a bit ocword and clumsy but that would take time. she would untll Durro stoped her or she physically could not cornute.

Throughout the session, Durro offers critiques and advice; telling her to change a stance here, to try that parry again, and most often repeated; "Feel the Force flowing through you."
"This is just as much about letting the Force work through you than it's about technical skill." Durro says, when he finally gestures for the remote to stop. "You can be a true master of the form, but if you can't let the Force work through you then you'll struggle to block even one person's attacks."
"Still, you've improved greatly in the..." he checks his chrono "nearly two hours we've been down here. Why don't you hit the refresher, and I'll fix us something to eat?"

Astra smiled " I was a little to focused getting the technical side down. I forgot how much it hurts to get hit by those remotes" she giggled. She was not at all bothered by the utter disaster that was that practice. " Like all skills it will take time to learn it took so long for me to got a good hold on form two," she said.
She nodded at durros digestion of sumthing to eat she smiled. " Food sounds wonderful master." She said. She left the cargo bay to clean up befor joining Durro for a meal. " so master care to tell me about one of your misadventures" she asked when she returned.

Durro was just finishing a high-class and refined meal of... warmed field rations (with tea!) when Astra exits the refresher. His back is to her as she throws on a robe before joining him at the folding down table, the bunks providing their seats.
"So Master, care to tell me about one of your misadventures?"
He hears Astra's question but takes a moment to answer.
"Whatever do you mean, my young apprentice? I was a perfectly behaved padawan and never got into trouble."
He takes a bite of his ration and eyes her for a response.

"Tactical Lesson One." Durro says in a serious tone. "Pick your fights carefully. Don't take on an enemy you can't overpower or outwit."
He smiles and adds,
"I've pulled a few pranks myself, in my time. Usually against a particular group of padawans who loved to torment me. Since they got me in trouble for things I didn't do, I was extra careful when pranking them; I never got in trouble for anything I actually did."

Durro grins and says;
"My greatest achievement almost didn't happen. The leader of my tormentors was a large Falleen named Timnat. There was a group of about a dozen younglings he 'led' on escapades, but his two most trusted and closest mates were a zabrak and twi'lekk. The zabrak lost his communicator while on a mission, shortly after we were all chosen by our masters. Little did he know that he didn't actually lose it, I had found it unguarded in the changing room at the sparing arena and stole it. A friend of mine who was good at techy stuff disabled the tracker on it, so he assumed he lost it away from the temple. He never reported it missing, just quietly replaced it; so I used it to observe their group text-based messages in order to better avoid them while at the temple. Then, I saw a conversation where they discussed an unguarded and likely forgotten ancient passage into the Council Spire. When they snuck in to check it out, they observed a fierce duel in the Council training chambers between Grand Master Yoda and Master Windu. They claimed it ended in a draw, but it was a sight to behold. Timnat, who considered himself the next Master Dooku, though he'd never actually beat me in the dueling ring, decided to steal a holographic training droid and program it to fight like Master Yoda and like Master Windu, based on recordings taken by sneaking into the Council Training Room. He worked at it for months, updating his mates on his progress via comm text message. Finally, he was ready to try it out in secret by sneaking into the dueling ring in the dead of night and having a go. He'd actually programed it well and so of course, it kicked his butt. It then escaped, because my friend and I had snuck in and disabled its restraining bolt and uploaded a program I wrote with his help over the last few months. The program included 'memories' fabricated from what I knew they done based on the messages."
Durro laughs and continues,
"By the time Timnat found the runaway droid, it was in the Grand Council Chambers telling the assembled High Council (Here Durro adopts Master Yoda's voice); 'Hmm yes, the greatest Jedi Timnat is. Cunning and clever he is; sneaks into the Council dueling chamber he does, and records the bouts. Programmed me he did, and now fight like Master Yoda I do. Challenge Master Windu, I do. If beat me he can, then challenge Master Timnat he should.' The droid then drew its lightsaber, and Master Windu crushed it like a empty drink can. An investigation revealed Timnat's actions, and from what I hear it took a lot of arguing from his new Master to lessen his punishment and his friends' punishments. They never did figure out what had made the droid go crazy."
Durro laughs again.
"That was probably my best one, though there were many others of course. That one got Timnat into the most trouble, though."

Astra burst into giggles" wow master that epic the worst I ever did was use move object to drip a bucket of water on Sol's head. Served him right for sneaking up and scaring me" she said in between fits of giggles.
She smiled a genuine smile. " we use to sneak out of the Academy there was this restaurant by a lake we use to go it. I wonder if Lord Sereno ever caught on. Oh and the day Sol told Lord Sereno he would marry me. Oh it was so funny not at the time I thought we were going to be in so much we actually weren't." She smiled happy to remember for the moment.

Astra smiled" well master as you know I was accepted into the academy when I was fairly young I was only a student at that point. It was the first place I felt at home. Truly at home master. Befor that I had bounced around from orphanage to orphanage. Life was similar then befor I know anything about who my parents were" she said her voice taking a strange tone. She dropped her head for a moment and started to play with the bracelet on her wright wrist. She took a deep breathe befor forcing herself to smile and forcing the Sadness she felt away.
She looked back to durro. " we were separated in tow two groups the Nobal cadets and student or as we called ourselves lowers. Sol was a noble and he and I met because he rescued me from some bullies and then took the blame for the fight. Even though I had started it." She posed smiling. " I wanted to protect my friend Raza so I throw a rock at them and they caught me. fighting is not allowed and usually gets you expelled. Though self-defense and the defense of others can get a more lenient punishment. Which was often the case for Sol, Roza, and me. The three of us spent a lot of time working in the kitchen. Then there were classes which are where Sol, and I was a bit different as he was a noble. They had far more classes and private lessons. For Raza and I was had basic history, and how to use the force, along with reading and technology classes. Some of which were with the Nobels, I struggled with history it's was always so boring. Did not help that the jedi teachinging it spoke in a monotone" she said with a giggle. The earlier sadness forgotten for a moment was replaced with joy.

" We don't rain officially until we are 13. You have to apply to go to the gathering there's one every month and you can reapply every month until you are 14. In my case, it was my last chance and they denied my application for I don't know how many times at this point. But Lord Sereno decided to adopt me and he broke so many rules doing it. But by him adopting me I got to go on the gathering and train under him along with Sol." She said. Her expression changed suddenly becoming dark.
" It was the best day that knight we would end up getting a glimpse of how powerful my Visions are. While we were at a secret party thats the students from my class were throwing I had a vision. I saw Roza's death I did not know what it was at the time it hit me and felt so real it was like I was there it scared the hell out of me. We did not realize what it was until the morning after when I found Roza dead. It looked like she had killed herself. I know that was not right it was not until Sol reminded me of the vision did we put Two and Two and together. His brother's wife suggested that we may be able to get more information from the vision. But that it was dangerous. With Lord Sereno and several other masters we were able to go back into the vision and identify her killer who is still out there," She said. She shook her head forcing that emotion away as well trying to make herself be calm like Jedi are aspire to be.
" After that Sol was accepted as a hunter I got to see a lot of his training but also had to keep up with my own. As well as individual lessons and missions with are masters we also had numerous classes. Some in-force abilitys for example I Attended jedi seer training. But we also had some piloting and diplomacy classes as well. Along with Jedi history and legions. Sol and I usually practice or study together after class. Though he had an extra task as well. Any time I left the academy he acted as my guard and protector. Lord Sereno had ordered it after Roza's death. " she said then loomed to durro waghting for his questions he would no doubt have them.

"Yes, that's right." Durro says.
After a long moment of silence, Durro puts away the last of the dinner mess.
"I had a brother; apparently." He finally says. "When I was in the Underverse, while in the mountains on Baklid VI I saw it. Master Marr, the master who left me on Lanus, was also the Master who brought my twin brother and I into the Order. Or at least, alerted the Council to our existence. From what I saw in the vision, our parents were poor working-class people in the lower levels of Coruscant. They wanted a better life for their children. As far as I know they received no other contact or help from the Jedi."
"As for my brother, he died early on in the Clone Wars. A famous battle that I wasn't aware I was a part of. My twin was, quite frankly stupid. We were young and he was scared. For some reason, the Jedi Council decided to block and even alter my memories to erase my brother from my memory. I never knew he existed until the Underverse. I wish I could remember him. I was told that I would need a Jedi with similar abilities to young Quinn, but it would have to be a Jedi I trust since they would also see whatever they uncovered for me."

Without thought, Astra pulled Durro into a hug. She know how upsetting it was for the judo order to cover things like that up. " I'm sorry master it must hurt, had I not learned to stay quiet they may have tampered with my memory of the monsters. I can't even imagine what it must be like to have sumthing like that taken from you." Letting him go and stepping back.
" are you angry with them for messing with your memory and taking everything you know of your brother away? " she asked.
" that's only partly true. Mind readers, they would see your entire life master or well Quinn would have. He is more powerful than most masters when it comes to his gift. The first time I touched him it was like being struck by lightning. You would also see some of his life and memorys" she said.

"It's not worth being angry about. It happened, and knowing has certainly tarnished my memory of the Jedi."
"When I was told how I could get my memory back, I immediately thought of Quinn. I don't trust him to that degree, though. Then I found out he was away and now who knows. If the Force wills it, I'll meet another who I grow to trust. Another who can assist me in finding my brother."
"In the meantime, I have other family. I have you, and Tesara. Ava, Nova, and Ryan. Soon, I am sure I can add Professor Kenobi to that list, if he doesn't drive me crazy first or we all die horribly to the swarm. I have more than I ever thought I would have a Jedi. I consider myself fortunate."
"Though I do sometimes wonder what role I would play if I had stayed in my own universe. A question for another time, I suppose."

Astra smiles " I see you are lucky in that regard. I am angry with the order im originally from. But I don't hate them just I don't know. So many friend and family are dead and the order they did nothing. The hide the events or ignored them. Then they wonder why Jedi brake and fall to the dark side." She said quietly.

" oh, fun. I'm kinda been afraid to try that last time Tesara and I had a vision. You know seeing the future is terrifying but reliving the past I think that is actually worse. " she said she sat down on the floor in front of her bunk. " We should meditate befor bed though right?" She asked as of expecting Durro to sit down and start his own meditation.

After meditating, Astra went to bed. Only to wake up a few hours later from a dream. " Well, that was startling." She muttered. She looked over to where Durro was for a moment. Deciding she was not going to be able to go back to sleep and that she did not wish to disturb him she headed to the cargo area.
Rather the practice with the lightsaber she chose to run throw her basic hand-to-hand combat. She took her usual stance and reached out to the force. Once again as she moved in a circle and easily changed direction. She slowly started to calm down.
Once she was calm she decided to practice with the lightsaber. She ran throw form two befor starting to work with form 3. She struggled with the form it still felt unnatural. Which ffrustated her the form seamed simple enough when Durro demonstrated it. Though she was also tired so that totally was not helping.
