The doctor will see you now 2/6/2022

Doctor Falorin walked in, "well Ms. Winlet, we have your latest test results." He said down at a chain next to her, "you are health, and so far we can't seem to discovery any harmful organisms within your make up."
He flipped the page on the Data pad, "though the medical scans have revealed that your tail wasn't meant to be that short. It was cut, surgically."
"We have been able to identify about four different genetic marks that normally don't belong together. Sadly, none of them are known to us, we even that can't be proven beyond reasonable doubt."
He looked to her, "though I can be sure of one thing. You are not a clone. I would be able to identify specific markers. I can not locate these markers, so that would lead me to believe you are not a clone."

Mishka tilted her head to the side in confusion at all this new information. Her ears twitched, face turning into a slight grimace of sorts, and she tried to assess all that Dr. Falorin was saying. Needless to say, the woman was quite confused. Was she human? Bothan? What?
"So, I'm supposed to have a longer tail...can that be fixed?" She asked and gave him enough time to answer before moving to the next question. "If I'm not a human and Bothan mix or a Clone, then what am I?" She was happy to know her health was good and that she had nothing bad in her system, but she needed answers.
Fingers rubbing at the pendant of her necklace, she waited for the answer.

He glanced at the data pad, "I don't think I can identify the components that went in to your make up. That said," he explained looking up at her with a smile, "I can honestly tell you that you are incredible. I have spoken with our own Cloning experts and they have all confirmed that you technically shouldn't be able to exist yet, here you are in the living breathing flesh."
"His eyes sent to the data pad, "now your tail, I am glad you said that. I won't lie." there was excitement in his voice. "I am excited to see you in your full form." He once more looked to her with a smile, "yes, we can fix that. A small operation to remove the cap. Then its some recovery time and it should grow naturally in a few weeks under the proper treatment."

Mishka was concerned about this news and wish she could find more answers on it. "I hope I can find out one day, then..." She murmured before smiling about the information over her tail. "That would be very nice. I am curious to see just how long my tail really is meant to be."
She could not, however, stop the nagging thoughts in the back of her mind. What could she be and why did the doctor say she should not even exist? Looking to the doctor, she felt she may not truly get her answers from this man. Would she have to dig the information up herself?
That was when she recalled the backpack she had brought along. It was still full of the information she had taken off of her father's computer. Could there possibly be answers there?
"Do you think there might be a way to find out what I am, sir?" She finally asked.

He smiled an nodded, "I will schedule the corrective procedure for tomorrow. By the end of the next month, we should have a good idea of what your tail was truly meant to look like."
His smiled as he sat the datapad down, "Ms. Winlat, you need to understand. While I am a very smart person, I don't know everything." He let off a slight nervous laugh, "this whole development was gone a long way to proving the limits of what I do know."
He reached forward and rested a soft reassuring hand on her knee. "This puzzle, of what you are, is complicated," he said softly. "And it might be far beyond my limits," said the added, "but as long as you desire me here, I will walk this journey of exploration with you." He gave her an honest smile, "I truly believe we can discover where you are."
Pulling from, "though the question about what you are. That my dear has already been answered. You are, Mishka Winlat. You are a friend and cherished by those around you," he said giving her a friendly nod.

A slight smile formed on Mishka's face at the doctor's last words. "I suppose you're right about that." She admitted with a soft laugh. "I do have questions about my tail, though..."
She thought for a moment, head tilting to the side as her ears shifted with curiosity. "When it grows back, will I have any balance issues? Control problems? Is there anything I should be concerned about?"
All her life she had believed the little wagging tail was just all it was. A small appendage that had stopped growing. But to learn it had been cut off suddenly made her feel horrified. Why would someone cut off her tail? What could the purpose be?
Mishka knew none of these questions could be answered by the doctor. She would just have to do her own investigations.

He leaned back and opened up his datapad, "well, I am sure that there will be a lot of issues regarding balance."
He moved the chair so she could see the datapad, "here this is what normal canine and feline tails look like when we look at their skeletal level."
He showed her a scan of her own tail, "do you see the skeletal shape of your tail. See how it looks here," he showed her the rounded bones. "I would say that your tail, while it would appear bushy, will behave more like that of a snake. Looking at the muscles and how its anchored to the spine, I wouldn't be surprised if you can learn to hold yourself up with it. Or even pick some things up with it."
He paused a moment consider it, despite its appearance, fully prehensile."

Mishka gazed at the datapad for a long moment, taking in the shape and structure her tail would most likely have. She had read enough books to know what tails were capable of for some animals, but she had never imagined hers would be so...strong. Was that the right word for it?
Unsure, she looked to the doctor again. "I'll be sure to work hard and make my tail strong then." She said with a smile. "Is that everything you needed to tell me, sir?"

(OOC: I swear I responded to this, I don't know what happened.)
He gave her a nod of understanding, "Mishka, I know things appear very unclear. And I won't deceive you, much of this is unknown. And it will be a test of all I know of modern medicine. And as you have agreed, I have brought other experts in on the case."
"What we currently know, is that there is so much of you that we don't know."
"But never forget, you are not alone, Mishka." He gave her a soft nod and a friendly smile.

Mishka gave a quick not before she began to stand up. "I will never forget that, sir. I can't forget it, honestly." She answered as a smile formed on her face, thoughts of Ryan swirling around in her mind.
He always reminded her that she was never alone.
"Should I go ahead and make an appointment at the front desk for my tail?" She asked.

He smiled and nodded as he rose to his feet, "yes, speak with her and I will continue the investigation in to, well, you." He started to follow her out.
(End?)
