Shop talk (Jaden and Bay)

[aipsylon]

Gadeon came into the cockpit having thought things over a little and in response to Cox's request. "Hello," he announced himself as he entered the room, glancing back to see if anyone was following him in. "I think it might be helpful if I knew exactly what happened." He quickly added. "In general terms. No need for details, just a general sequence of events." He blinked, letting the eyelids nictate across his large black eyes. Looking between the two before settling in Cox.

[Jonash Solo]

"I invited Ni to the cockpit and asked her to be more thoughtful about the safety of the crew in exchange for my loyalty. She agreed, so I told her I'd let her have some 'Fun and Games' with the crew." Cox's face changed to one of frustration as he recalled the events.

"At some point, she decided to jump onto me and wrap her legs around me. It was so sudden that I tried to step back to brace myself, tripped over my own foot, and the next thing I knew a bunch of the crew were staring at me and glaring at her. I chased after Ni to let her know that I was sorry and she pulled away and angrily told me to get my head examined."

As Cox goes over what he just said, he realizes it is incomplete and inaccurate. He tries to sort it out mentally, but concludes that is a fool's errand.

"Between the knock on the head and how fast it happened, I doubt this is the true and whole story, but its the best I can do."

[aipsylon]

Gadeon nodded, "Well that sounds reasonable for what happened. When you said fun and games with the intercom I think that is what prompted the jumping. As for her pulling away, Ni took the advice to live in the moment to heart and well, honestly is one of the least repressed people I know. She is fair and honest to who she is, if she is upset she will ask it, and as for getting your head examined I was there for that part. She wanted to be alone for a little while, and you needed medical attention, perhaps the wording was harsh, but she meant it literally and physically. As far as an apology goes, I think one is not really needed in this case, just an honest clarification of what you meant, and letting her know you don't blame her for getting hurt. I am going to talk to Ni and see if I can't get how she is feeling and well, maybe get us all together in a day or two when things have settled down."

[Jonash Solo]

"How do you do it? She seems to ignore what people say and do whatever she wants. I just don't understand."

[aipsylon]

"I don't do anything, we have been together a while I respect her as an individual, I think that helps start things off. She is true to her whims, sometimes she needs to be reminded what that means for the people she cares about and respects. I think it might be because I do not 'control Ni' The words taking on the tone he had heard so many others use. I ask her and give the reasons that I would like for her to do what I am asking."

[Jonash Solo]

"I still think she's a huge liability and I've yet to see why they keep her on this team. I hope I'm wrong about that, because I don't want to see a bunch of people die to prove me right."

Cox realizes he hasn't introduced himself properly and goes to shake Gadeon's hand. He goes for the closest right arm, "I'm sorry I didn't properly introduce myself. I'm Cox Solo."

[aipsylon]

"Have you seen why I am on this team?" Gadeon asked simply. "Gadeon Halvaran." Of course the closest would be the highest one as his stature would keep him well shorter than the man.

[Jonash Solo]

"I have not. But I have seen the crew practically surround Ni twice and even hit her with a stun pistol. I have not seen that done to you or anyone else on this ship." He pauses in thought, "I know she's your friend and I'm not here to insult her or you. I'm used to looking for the weak point in ships and fixing them. You know the saying, 'A chain is only good as its weakest link.' But I also know she's her own person and not a machine to be fixed."

"Her intentions with following Unna were definitely on the right track, but her method was reckless. That's the part that bothers me."

[aipsylon]

Gadeon gave a soft smile. "I think you'll see why she is around soon. As for the crew, well perhaps they are simply not as tolerant as they claim to be. I have known Ni for some time and have never found it necessary to stun her with a pistol, though she may not like it she will usually do what is asked of her." Gadeon shook his head. "I need rest, I will see you soon I am sure." He waited to see if he had anything more to say before actually departing.

[Jonash Solo]

Cox has an odd sense of deja vu, "Thanks Gadeon! I appreciate your advice and will heed your words as best I can."

He takes a cursory look at the various sensors on the ship. "That's odd ..." he thinks to himself.

He turns the intercom on, "Bay to the cockpit please."
