Only moments had passed since Gadeon had asked him to speak following Cox making a plea to be chosen as the leader for this group. But the moments that passed seemed as if hours. That was when Duncan stood up and looked around. "I have led this group for nearly a year now and in that time I've done my best to make sure we've come out alive of every situation we had found ourselves in. I have gotten to know you all, some better than others in that time. I have listened to everything everyone has had to say, even though I didn't always follow everyone's advice. If that has ruffled some britches.... well tough. This isn't a democracy. You are part of the Republic's 10th of which I am currently in command and none of you has the authority to remove me from that command." he spoke confidently and yet never once in a hostile tone towards anyone. "That being said I can no longer do this. I no longer have the faith in this government or the jedi that are supposed to be protecting it." As he spoke he removed his lightsabers from his belt. He handed one to Ashla and the other to his brother. "Cox doesn't have the experience with this group, nor the emotional stability which he revealed to me yesterday. That being said your best choice for a leader is.... Gadeon." with that Duncan left the table and headed for the bunk to get the rest of his things. The only thing in his hands was the datapad.
