RE: Breaking the Ice
The commotion from inside the locker startled Unna and her head rose up from Ashla's shoulder. As Ashla stepped closer to the locker, Unna got closer to the locker as well so she could hear better through the door. She looked at the locker as Todd spoke and then looked to Ashla. "She just ran in there as soon as she saw me. I'm used to her just normally ignoring me, but it seems something terrified her this time."
Unna stepped closer to the locker, but not so close that the door would hit her if it were to suddenly open. "Todd, I saw the events which are to come in the close future and they can be prevented if we can find common ground and set differences aside. I can not say what will happen in the far future, but if we do not learn to get along, Ashla and I will not be around to fight the darkness. We will be dead, along with Duncan and Jayden."
"Todd," Unna pleaded, "It sounds horrible. It is all so horrible. Believe me, I know what it is like to have loved ones die. I watched my mother and God parents be engulfed in flames from a battle. I watched my own father bleed to death from wounds sustained from the same battle. I couldn't save him. I was just a kid. I saw both of my mentors die and many of our friends die. It is truly horrible and images I can never get out of my head, but I keep fighting it. We must keep fighting the darkness. What we need to stop fighting is each other. If we don't stop, all that will be left will be you and Auro!"
Unna breathed rapidly after her speech. It was hard to talk about. This was certainly not the time, place, or person she planned to confide her demons too, but like she said, if they could not find common ground, more death was imminent. She turned her head to look to Ashla. Ashla would know that Unna never spoke of the death of her family. The group as a whole never seemed to discuss the deaths of Nontho, Passik, and the rest of the younglings from their enclave.

RE: Breaking the Ice
A long, thoughtful silence followed. Then, "I...I'm sorry about your family..." punctuated by another long, thoughtful silence, then, "...Did you say you...saw the future?" The locker slowly, tentatively opened. The Kel Dor peeked out at the two Jedi, eyeing Unna warily. "Up until about a week ago I was not aware of what the Jedi were fully capable of...or, rather, I did not understand how...invasive they could be..." She withdrew back into the locker, though the door remained ajar, "...and now you're telling me you can see the future, and it is horrible..." she sounds strangely unfazed, chuckling in spite of herself, "...mind control and future vision, isn't that something? Well, I may not have future vision, but even a common nobody like myself can see how fucked we really are... And you say that we need to stop fighting each other to prevent this tragedy from occurring?" She sighs, "I'm not interested in fighting any of you. Especially after I experienced first-hand the way your kind can rip my own freewill from my body and force upon me a purpose I'd never consent to..." her tone darkens bitterly as she describes it, her voice shivering slightly, "No, I'm not so foolish as to fight with a Jedi. Quite frankly, after what I experienced, I wish I could separate myself from the Jedi altogether, but that is an impossible goal. And besides..." she concludes heavily, "I still have much to do here...I don't know what it is you're asking of me, Unna, to prevent this tragedy you speak of. But I assure you that all I want is to be left alone to do the only thing I'm good at. In return, I ask to remain at a distance from other Mind-Benders."

RE: Breaking the Ice
Unna listened to Todd speak. One common theme was a distaste of the Jedi. It occurred to Unna that perhaps Todd was unaware of Unna's standing within the order. "Todd, did you know that I am not a Jedi? I do have the ability to use the force like the Jedi. It is something I was born with, but I was brought up to use the force in a different way." Unna gestured toward her clothing while Todd was eyeing her. "One thing is certain about me," Unna spoke honestly, "I am no mind bender. My mind affecting abilities are pratically non-existent. I don't know if that information will make any difference in whether or not you wish to commune with me. If you desire more space after this conversation, I can put in a request for new quarters. Perhaps we are all doomed and everything we do is pointless, but I intend to never stop trying to fight the darkness which threatens all of us in the galaxy. It makes the small scale seem insignificant. However, the smallest of pebbles dropped in a pond can still make ripples which extend far beyond the pebble itself. What I am asking of you is to come out, have a seat, and start a ripple that can disrupt the future that I have foreseen. I know that I am not one who you would be eager to assist, but the stakes are larger than the two of us. Believe it or not, but it is you who can make the difference that will save lives."

RE: Breaking the Ice
The Kel Dor peaked out at Unna again, studying her face incredulously. "You...you arent a Jedi...?"
Tod carefully scanned her surroundings, as if to uncover a trick. Her eyes settled on Ashla for a moment, silently pleading for confirmation. Then she rested her gaze on Unna again. "Am I interpreting this correctly, or did you just say that changing the future is as simple as coming out and having a little tea party with the two of you?" She asked with a twinge of skepticism before laughing in spite of herself, "We should make that our new slogan: saving lives, one tea party at a time!" But her laughter quickly dissipated into a serious, contemplative expression.

RE: Breaking the Ice
"No, I am not a Jedi. I have lived among them for over half my life now, but I do not carry the same beliefs. After I was orphaned, I was taken in by them. My people come from a world that is now barren of life and was so little known that it isn't even missed. That whole world was destroyed, because one person on it was believed to be able to make a big difference in the eradication of dark forces we battle..." Unna's voice trailed off as her mind returned to the vision of digging through the ashes and uncovering the ragged little doll which had belonged to the little girl she spoke of.
"Uhmmmmm, yes..." Unna interrupted her own thoughts. "Absolutely, a conversation can make a difference. In the future I foresaw, this conversation hadn't happened. It was the future of what happened if we continued to ignore one another. By talking to me now, ripples are already being made. I hope to make waves large enough to crush the future I saw. If you humor me, I will let you know when the difference has been made and what you have changed just by speaking to me today..."
"Unfortunately, I have no tea. Would you like some water?"

RE: Breaking the Ice
Todd pushed open the locker door and stared at Ashla in shock. "T-that was the Force? I'd just assumed someone had injected me with a sedative..." She looked away, visibly distressed by this new information. After a moment of thought she shook her head and sighed, "If you had not have done that, I would certainly be dead... I understand why you did it, and I trust your word to not do it again..." She leans toward Ashla, a pained expression on her face as she says quietly, "Ashla, you're the first friend I've had in a long time...you've stood up for me... I'm sorry if anything I said has upset you...I don't like feeling powerless or trapped, and that is how this new experience has made me feel..." It was now Todd's turn to feel guilty. She leaned up next to the inside wall of the locker and stared at the ground.

RE: Breaking the Ice
For a moment a softer side of Todd was visible, so unfamiliar to the consistently prickly Kel Dor that it was almost unsettling. She turned her face away and brushed a finger under her goggles. Then, as if waking up, she straightened her posture and cleared her throat awkwardly, commenting dryly, "Well, let's not get carried away with sappy sentiments. After all, feelings won't help us with this dark vs light game that we seem to have been drafted into..." Then, slowly giving in, she sighs and adds with a poor attempt at a nonchalant tone, "...but...for whatever it's worth...thanks for including me in...well, whatever this is--" she gestures at the three of them and clears her throat again, shyly turning away.
