Too Many Chiefs(open)

Gadeon glanced to Duncan to make sure it was ok with him, since he had offered him the floor. "It's up to Duncan, he has the floor."

[Gar]

"It won't take long," assured Ni, "I just don't want Boss Man to think that his boss skills are being called into question. I think he is a good Boss Man. After all, he was the one that gave the order to have me go on the date with the sheriff. He is the real reason why we got all the Intel we did. It was a good call. And that's all I had to say." She sits quietly and waits for Duncan.

[Unna Hi Chaanu]

Unna looked at Ni in shock. She wasn't angry. What she felt was extreme guilt. "Ni, you shouldn't have," Unna said softly. "I am undeserving of your help."

[Gar]

Ni was confused by Unna's statement, but she didn't want to speak again, feeling as though she had already made too much noise. Then her eyes lit up with an idea. She took out her datapad and typed a message to Unna: "You kinda do deserve it, though. Youre bleeding."

[Unna Hi Chaanu]

"You may speak, Ni." Unna spoke sincerely. "I will not bite you. I am not angry. I just do not feel that I deserve help from someone I am often so short with. Perhaps at a less critical time we can come to an accord as to how to get along better. I would like that very much."

[Duncan_Starchaser]

Only moments had passed since Gadeon had asked him to speak following Cox making a plea to be chosen as the leader for this group. But the moments that passed seemed as if hours. That was when Duncan stood up and looked around. "I have led this group for nearly a year now and in that time I've done my best to make sure we've come out alive of every situation we had found ourselves in. I have gotten to know you all, some better than others in that time. I have listened to everything everyone has had to say, even though I didn't always follow everyone's advice. If that has ruffled some britches.... well tough. This isn't a democracy. You are part of the Republic's 10th of which I am currently in command and none of you has the authority to remove me from that command." he spoke confidently and yet never once in a hostile tone towards anyone. "That being said I can no longer do this. I no longer have the faith in this government or the jedi that are supposed to be protecting it." As he spoke he removed his lightsabers from his belt. He handed one to Ashla and the other to his brother. "Cox doesn't have the experience with this group, nor the emotional stability which he revealed to me yesterday. That being said your best choice for a leader is.... Gadeon." with that Duncan left the table and headed for the bunk to get the rest of his things. The only thing in his hands was the datapad.

[Jaden_Starchaser]

Silence filled the room following Duncan's departure, but that didn't matter to Jaden. He clenched the dragon decorated hilt of his brother's saber and exited the room to go after him. He caught up to him and called out, "Duncan!"

[Gar]

Ni froze with panic at Duncan's words and departure. She looked to Gadeon for guidance, the fear very apparent on her face. "Gaddy...?" she asked anxiously, a plea for some reassurance.

[Jonash Solo]

Cox gave a quick congratulatory nod towards Gadeon and followed Jaden in chasing Duncan.

[Unna Hi Chaanu]

Unna stood up, but did not pursue the three men. Instead, she noticed how she felt better. She nodded at Gadeon, intending to address him later, but she had something else to say first.

"Thank you, Ni," Unna said with humility as she approached the Zeltron. "You have a special way of getting under my skin," Unna continued to approach Ni, "However, you seem to be capable of healing it as well. Not only did you heal me, you healed me despite the hurt I have caused you. It is..." Unna paused and swallowed before continuing, "touching, inspiring, noble..." Unna gently placed one of her large, Iktotchi hands on one of Ni's red shoulders. "You have a place here and I apologize for overlooking that fact. I heard about what you did on that date for us and nobody can fill that niche like you. You're apparently a gifted healer as well and your kindness sets a good example for us all..." Unna looked down toward her feet with a sad shame. "Especially me."

Unna took Ni into her arms and held her in a rare embrace. "This is a friendly hug," Unna giggled. "So do not get any ideas." Other than Cox, those who were still around to witness this softer side of Unna would know just how rare this was. Unna released Ni, but kept her hands on the Zeltron's shoulders. "We have our differences, but I believe it would be worth the effort for us to work through them. Now is not the time or the place, but I'm sure we will make it through this mission if we just treat one another with respect. Then I can take you out to dinner and we can talk it all over..." Unna paused, then added "as friends...maybe if you learn to keep a secret I'll tell you a few as well."

Unna then looked at Gadeon with a friendly smile, still holding Ni's shoulders.
